Cool hotel in a great location. Old building but modern rooms, many in refurbished houses on the property. Staff were friendly and helpful. Property and rooms are clean. Bedding and beds are comfy. Parking can be tricky.

Excellent property. Beautiful construction and the rooms were excellent. Heated bathroom floor was a bonus. Parking is limited. Breakfast was a bit better than the usual fare. Excellent staff.

Air Conditioning unit in our room was very loud - woke us up throughout the night. Lack of on site parking was frustrating. We were offered a $10 credit to waive housekeeping services for the 3 nights we stayed but it wasn’t on our final invoice. It was a nice boutique hotel and the breakfast was adequate.

Recently stayed at The Great George Hotel and the hotel is a gem in the city of Charlottetown. The hotel is perfectly located and walkable to many attractions, restaurants and bars in the city. The location could not have been better! The hotel offers free breakfast and a happy hour complimentary drinks in the evening which are nice touches. Free cookies at reception are a little plus as well. Our room was connected to the main building but had an entrance from the outside. If visiting in the cold months it might be something to consider to ask for a main building, access to the lobby room. The one downside was the parking. There is parking but the main parking lot fills up early in the evening. If you plan to come back to the hotel later at night be prepared to have no parking. We had to inquire with the front desk and park elsewhere further away which was not ideal and took time to find out where else we could park.

The Great George is a charming boutique hotel in the heart of Charlottetown. The room was nice and spacious. The most surprising feature was the heated bathroom floor. The complimentary breakfast was lovely, but the seating was not ideal. Parking is limited, but we were in walking distance to shops, restaurants and the waterfront. A lovely, peaceful place to stay.

I had a lovely stay in the main building. Staff were really attentive and warm. Happy hour drink and delicious breakfast were appreciated. The only thing that wasn’t great was the carpet in our room (203) was really yucky /stained by the fridge.

We stayed at this hotel last year and had a pleasant experience. This year felt different, the staff were absolutely amazing! Helpful and kind in every way. They even took note of a birthday celebration and had a bottle of wine in the room which goes to show how far they go for guests. The room we had was the same as before but attention to detail is not within the rooms. The carpet is really showing its age and I hope is clean but did not look it. It was ripped up in quite a few spots and extremely brown, our bedding had a few stains in many spots but did look washed so I let it go. The shower had rust spots in the corner, the pink colour that needs a little scrub. The TV unit thing was just sort of falling down behind the TV, many stains on furniture, pictures and mirrors uneven. It’s a nice hotel but when you pay $465 for a night I expected a bit more in terms of cleanliness. The parking is absolutely the largest downfall as well of course staying in the downtown core, thankfully we saw the hotel employee leaving for the night and he advised he can take the valet spot but this happened to us both times we have stayed. The breakfast is not bad it is cute and small. The best part is really the hot coffee & tea and sweets. It’s the small details when staying in a room that truly matter and it fell a bit short this time.

My only negative comment is that the ceiling tiles just inside the door in room 302 seemed wet or water stained. Not a serious problem; more cosmetic.

An excellent choice for a week or a weekend in Charlottetown. Within 5 minutes of many restaurants and bars, shopping venus, and a few blocks from the waterfront. Very kind and attentive staff. Suite was clearly well designed, with heated floors in the bathroom, a sofa lounge, Georgian windows, and a comfortable bed. Suggestions for improvements: 1) the temperature was too high in the hotel, I lowered the temperature but some days I had to keep the windows open; 2) the cable TV was malfunctioning and I had to fix it myself, as the staff didn't have a solution; 3) the shower gel and the shampoo are far too liquid and unusable, and I ran out of it after only 2-3 days.; 4) very few coffee pods, I asked for a refill after 3-4 days but the refill didn't come. But overall a solid choice for a stay in Charlottetown.

This property needs to invest in new mattresses. Our king size bed had indents and was toooo soft. Disappointed, considering everything else is amazing. A good night sleep out ways it all for us. Maybe ask if they have a “good” mattress in the room before booking.

The Great George is a unique boutique hotel, that really isn't a hotel at all but a collection of Victorian houses serviced by a main Pavillion. As such, your room is a room in a separate house, and you travel to the pavillion for reception, breakfast, and the common area lounge. The rooms are comfortable but as they are all on streets, you have to expect traffic noise, and lots of foot traffic around. It's in a very walkable area, with so many cafes, restaurants, shops, a theatre, the Arts center you will have lots to do while you are there. Very good staff, polite, professional very friendly and accommodating. The furniture is antique so expect some creaks but the mattress are the very best. I love that they have proper comfortable armchairs in the room and not those uncomfortable office chairs. The only way it could get better is if they had a power bar and a footstool in the room.

I had an incredible experience staying at The Great George. From the moment I arrived to the day I checked out, everything was simply perfect. The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable — a real haven to relax in after a long day. The facilities were top-notch, and it’s clear that the hotel is maintained with a lot of care and attention to detail. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable hotel experience. Truly a five-star stay in every way! A special thank you to the staff member who kindly packed me a breakfast to go when I had to leave early for a morning golf round — such a thoughtful touch that really made a difference.

I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable hotel experience. Truly a five-star stay in every way! A special thank you to the staff member who kindly packed me a breakfast to go when I had to leave early for a morning golf round — such a thoughtful touch that really made a difference.

Upon arrival, we realized that the elevator would not service the assigned room, when we expressed our concern, the staff quickly consulted with the manager and arranged a more suitable room. The hotel was completely booked so the staff went over and above to help solve our problem and we were very grateful.

Staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Everyone from the front desk to the consierge to the breakfast staff were wonderful. Happy hour was great with wide selection to choose from; and the breakfast was delicious and varied each day. Parking is easy, and location is perfect as many of the downtown/waterfront attractions are within a short walk.

I can't say enough good things about this property and their amazing staff!!!! Upon arriving, the cleaning staff opened the door for me even though they were balancing handful of laundry. The desk explained that my room might be just a few more minutes and offered me a glass of wine while I waited. The location is perfectly situated close to everything. My room was lovely with a mix of old historic charm along with updated modern finishes. The extra large TV was mounted over a modern fireplace in a separate sitting area with a sofa and wing back chair. I loved the glassed in shower with a large rainfall shower head. The bed was very comfortable with lots of plugs for all of your devices. Breakfast is included. I was already extremely impressed with the hotel and staff, but the icing on the cake actually happened after I checked out. When approaching my vehicle, I noticed that I had a very flat tire that would even have enough air to get to a garage. Traveling on business to work a trade show all that day put me in a bit of a pickle. The hotel staff said, "Give us your car keys and we'll figure out something while you are busy working the trade show today." Not only did they change my tire to donut tire, but they also sent out the flat tire to a garage who fixed it for me and then put it back on!! The only small charge was from the garage who fixed my tire. I highly recommend this hotel! Exceptional!!

Perfect location for first-time visiters of PEI. Loved having the daily breakfast and weeknight happy hours included. Being able to park after day trips but walk to dinners was ideal for us. Would recommend to anyone visiting the island.

Wow. Loved this place. Historic boutique hotel that owns the old houses around it. Stayed on upper floor of one house and had our own deck with a view of nice hotel gardens and the spires of Dunstan Basilica. Close walking distance to the harbour, restaurants and other sites

Perfect location to downtown dining/shopping. A quick walk to the boardwalk by the water. Such a unique hotel vibe. We took a risk booking this using just the pictures and reviews, so glad we did as it was worth the experience. Highly recommend staying here if you have the chance.

Fabulous hotel and staff! We had a wonderful stay. However, we felt the breakfast wasn't refreshed or restocked and many of the items had run out. Also there is not enough room for everyone to sit down.

Wonderful old world feel to the complex. We loved the history and charm of the hotel. Happy hour and fresh cookies put it over the top for us. Only down was shortage of breakfast foods by 9am and no tables to sit at to eat. Highly recommend it for location too.

We walked into the lobby and it transported us into another world. The lobby was filled with guests relaxing and enjoying happy hour! The rooms are well appointed, comfy bed and incredible attention to detail. Breakfast was delish and loved that there was a section for gluten free including a dedicated toaster. Close to many great restaurants. Would have loved to see what the rooms in the other connected historic buildings looked like. The staff is attentive and welcoming. This hotel is the BOMB!

Everyone was super friendly, kind and helpful. We had a wonderful spacious room that was quiet and very comfortable. The breakfast was yummy and something different each of the three mornings we were there. Great recommendations for places to visits and terrific dining options.

Historic hotel in a great location. There is a happy hour in the lobby in the late afternoon, with quite decent wine. The free breakfast buffet is good, with the exception of the undrinkable coffee, which tastes like battery acid. Our spacious room was lovely, but I was surprised that there were no safety/grab bars in the bath tub. We enjoyed our two-day stay. We would stay there again.

Best hotel in PEI for ambience, decor, comfort, attention to detail, and at the heart of downtown. We booked a night as part of a weekend shopping trip/staycation and were very happy. Free cookies and coffee in the lobby was a nice touch, and the bed/pillows were incredibly comfortable. Only thing I would change was the hot breakfast....the hard-boiled eggs were very over-done (sulfur layer) and the waffles were also over-done/dried out...but we found lots to eat. Would easily stay again.

We had a wonderful stay in Charlottetown at The Great George. This is really a unique hotel, and I have never stayed anywhere quite like it. The hotel really compromises a ~block of historic downtown buildings and homes that have all been renovated and converted into modern hotel rooms. It combines the best of all worlds - location right in the middle of everything, historic charm, and modern amenities and I couldn't recommend this hotel more. The parking was free and available, the room large, clean and extremely comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient. We loved and noticed all the extra's (heated bathroom floor, extra seating, secure entrance, fast and easy internet, large TV with extensive channel collection). The lobby is wonderful and inviting, and although we didn't get to experience the breakfast (too busy in PEI!) it smelled great. Loved the tea and coffee bar, wine gatherings, cookies. I couldn't rent this hotel highly enough and am looking forward to our next visit.

This is an amazing hotel in a perfect location. The staff are super helpful. The room was large and very clean. Bed was very comfortable, and the shower in the bathroom was lovely. Breakfast was plentiful. There was no hot food, but that suits us. The hotel has lots of old world charm. Parking was good in the small car park at the rear of the hotel
