Butterfly Beach Hotel

Had a lovely stay at this hotel,with 2 warm pools, and beaches on either side of the building. Kitchenette was great, as the supermarket was a 10 min walk away. Okay restaurant on site, but not much else nearby. You can easily take ZR buses to Bridgetown, The Gap,vor Oistins.

Excellent property. However, they displayed a sign indicating a fee for beach towels that appeared to be displayed for certain guests (booked via OTA).

Beach location jacuzzi and pool area were great! Bar/Restaurant view was also fantastic. Food was pub style ok. The ambiance on the deck there could have been improved with some light rythmn music (to break up the bar clatter and mixer grind, but still retain the slapping of rhe waves sound experience.) Just stayed the one night pre-cruise and it rates a 5 star for that usage.

The jacuzzi style plunge pools was fantastic! The other two pools on site were also a highlight. Gift shop offers a nice selection of souvenirs and trinkets. Donna at reception was a gem and the gift shop team was great. The staff made our family vacation wonderful and totally made up for the minor negatives we experienced. The location was convenient and it was great meeting and chatting with other guests who were always very pleasant.

Noisy adult pool was not private it is right near the other pool and is right outside your room and available to all guests staff came in room while I was showering parking is minimal and they expect you to park off site and walk even late at night

This hotel was very beautiful. But they didn't have a lot of entertainment or things for the guests to do throughout the day. You either had to take the excursion and they might have nightly entertainment for an hour or two. That was insufficient

Estuve aquí con mi familia y la experiencia fue buena. Muy tranquilo y buena limpieza. El único problema fue el ascensor roto en varias ocasiones.

Everything was fine except for the posting of a gym on their facility. My favorite in a gym is the bar bells and there was none, only the fitness bikes, but otherwise I did enjoy my stay. The staff was great and friendly 👍

I have to give 10 stars to the cleaning lady who cleaned our room every day. the person who checked us in, a person in the restaurant who was always nice when we asked for ice a couple times and the lady from the souvenir store (Apologies that I do not recall the names) other than that not a very good hotel either other employees were not friendly. Beach access not very safe and pool area need desperately an update. Jacuzzi’s only working one at the time. Tips if you are staying and other.. 1. Bring your own beach towel . They charge for every time you get a new beach towel. I guess you will be going to the pool and beach every day ? Well if you are staying 10 days like us better to buy your own towel then and you get also a beautiful souvenir from the island 2. If you need plastic bags for some reason.. on our case need it for sandwiches to take to the beach. People at the restaurant will give you ONLY one . I quote " you are not allow to get more than one" 3. Get a room with island view instead .. the noise coming in (very early on weekdays) from the road, specially public transportation could be very annoying… 4. There was a weird smell coming from the bathroom sometimes. There is not enough ventilation in it so maybe that’s what it is? Will definitely stay somewhere else or even rent a villa could be much better than butterfly hotel. Other than that Thanks again for the ladies who made feel our stay better!

The Butterfly Beach is closing for renovations in the fall. We stayed 8 nights. Our room was cleaned daily the floors were mopped. I was disappointed in the a/c system as when it rotated it blew on the bed. Furthermore, the a/c leaked when not set at the proper temperature as warned. The TV broke during our stay it was promptly replaced. We had to upgrade our breakfast from the continental breakfast. It costs another $8.50 per person to upgrade to the full breakfast. The full breakfast changed a little daily but always consisted of eggs (fried, scrambled, or mini omelets) bacon, and sausage. Some of the rotational full breakfast food items were baked beans, pancakes, Bajan cakes, saltfish, and plantains. I was disappointed there was no yogurt or peanut butter. I was disappointed with our view as we had a pool view. They have 2 pools, one overlooks only the pool and the other overlooks a pool whirlpool area and ocean. A few nights I returned to the hotel and was concerned about parking but I always seemed to have a parking space. The access to the beach was tricky. I probably would not stay here again as the ocean comes in too far on the left side of the property. I was not sure if guests were allowed to use both sides of the beach. Also, I wanted to be able to walk to more attractions. Oistins is a 10-15 minute walk, buses seemed to run frequently. The St. Lawerence Gap is a further walk. Our interactions with the staff were pleasant.

Clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Loved the performances by the children. Buffet was very tasty.

Upon arrival the receptionist was rude. I asked her a question and she said obviously I wasn’t listening when she was talking. Had to move rooms due to the toilet. Saw a roach in the second room. Told them the AC wasn’t working and was told it’s because I probably left the slide door open (like I would do something so stupid). The other staff however were super nice. Tension and the housekeeping supervisor would be the only reason I would give them another chance. My room was upgraded to an ocean view after the incident with the toilet. They came and sprayed the room and found that roach. Also after the second time complaining about the AC it was fixed. They had a rum punch party with a live band and happy hour every day.

This hotel is beautiful! We were greeted with a fresh juice beverage. The rooms are spotless and roomy. We enjoyed the breakfast and hanging by the pool.

Poorly lighted Hallways,V ery skimpy giv ing guests clean, linen . the place should be closed until it is rrefurbished.P99l is very dirty and there are no Lifeguards.

Clean room and helpful staff.

This hotel has the potential to be a nice because of its location. There is no reason a hotel should be infested with roaches. I killed more than 10 roaches in my room in a 24 hour period. Even though I allowed housekeeping in my room it was obvious they weren't cleaning, sweeping or mopping evidenced by small items being left on the floor and remaining there after cleaning was supposedly done. The white bathroom linens were dingy and even had unidentified stains which made me question how clean they were. I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is affordable, clean, friendly and helpful staff and the saltwater pool is the best. I highly recommend butterfly beach hotel.

Toller Strand! Rezeption sehr nett. Zimmer groß aber alt. Dusche nicht gut regulierbar. Bushaltestelle vor der Tür. Bis zum Fish Fry ca. 15 Minuten, bis zum Supermarkt ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß.

We stayed for 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised how nice everything was since it was so reasonably priced. The best part of the stay was the people. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and I would definitely return for the cleanliness, large room, views and beach, reasonable price and definitely the people.

The hotel is within walking distance of different restaurants beaches, and fish market. Our room was to have a balcony, it did not, that was disappointing.

The rooms were not sound proof . This property needs updated rooms , the ac couldn’t go under 20 degrees since it leaks water , the water was not complimentary, the towels were old in the room . It’s a great place on a budget and if u are looking just for somewhere to just rest your head it’s great. The pool and jacuzzis were awesome, the staff was excellent and helpful, the beach is giving the vibes . Apart from the room being a older room it was a great few days .

We stayed one night at butterfly beach before our flight home. Very spacious rooms with good amenities for a holiday. Due to us returning to Barbados for our wedding anniversary, the wonderful hotel receptionists provided us with a bottle of cava, which was a lovely touch to round off our holiday. Would recommend.

Enjoyed my stay there. Good staff and room size. The kitchen area of the room was a nice touch. I was able to prepare my breakfast if I felt like it. The only real issue is that it's close to a main road so if you don't like the sound of cars passing it might be an issue. For me it was no issue and my stay was enjoyable.

Recently underwent renovations so very comfortable and spacious rooms. Great location.

Amenities are good. Room was tired but nice bed and kitchen area useful. Sadly we had a view of the road. Pool and beach area nice. We only had a continental breakfast which was expensive and not good. Nice surf cafe 10 mins down the road for breakfast but expensive like everything in Barbados

Beautiful room. Beautiful ocean view from the veranda of our room. Air conditioner was quiet. Everyone was helpful and courteous. Located on H7 and bus stops close. Supermarket 1 km away which was great with the kitchenette in the room. Plan to stay here again.

Loved my stay here. This was my 2nd stay here. Rooms are clean and spacious. Perfectly located steps from beach and short distance to the lively Oistins night life. Reception was warm. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Front desk staff were amazing and extremely organized. The bar was not great return drinks and food twice.

Super friendly front of house staff (shout out to Donna and Ryan in particular) always on hand with helpful advice. Hotel excellently located near to Oistins & St Lawrence Gap where there is an abundance of dining options (for different wallet thicknesses). Easy accessible beaches like Miami, Rockley and Dover are just short ZR journey away. We will be back!

Check in was terrible. Their check out time of 12 noon is not beneficial to getting the rooms ready for a 3PM check in. I think they were under staffed and most of the rooms were ready by 3:45 to 4:00. This hotel caters to cruise travelers so it have the late check out as they don’t have to be at the port until 1PM. Unfortunately the passengers who arrive have to be off the ship by 9AM. Most headed to the hotel and stored their luggage in a storage room which was overflowing. We were all given towels to use the pools and other facilities until our rooms were ready. The reception staff that replaced the morning shift were fantastic in helping everyone out. Rooms were very nice but needs to be refreshed. Pool areas were great and what a view. Restaurant was ok and the service was good. Lots of waves at the beach area and it was closed off for safety. The are a few restaurants and stores within walking distance along with the Fisk Market. I actually would stay there for a night or two again.

I thought that the property was really pretty and the staff worked hard to maintain it. Lea at the Front Desk was simply wonderful, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. Cato in Housekeeping was excellent and went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable in the room. Cheryl and Beverly, also in Housekeeping were good also. The only negative was the “Unregistered Guests” policy, which did not allow my family and friends to come to my room to chat, as only 2 adults and a child could be ”registered”. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

You get what you pay for here, nothing more or less. The restaurant was a solid 5 out of 10 in terms of taste and customer service. The staff needs to be trained better, they act as if they’re doing you a favor. Overall the island itself is filled with natural beauty but aside from that I found the workers to be a bit rude especially the ones working at this hotel. My best advice would be to spend the extra money and stay at a nicer hotel. Also be aware of being overcharged by taxi drivers.

It was also nice to see that they always had people around the property cleaning up. The occasional noise in the daytime from work being done on the property. Let me know that they were doing everything to keep the property up so the noise did not bother me at all. I enjoyed my stay so much that I tried to book another stay in January 2026, but unfortunately, they are already full. The hotel was 15 minutes walking distance from the Oistins fish market as well as close to St Lawrence Gap. It was very easy for me to travel from the hotel because it was various accessible on the main road. I used the local rideshare services offered. The rooms are well kept and the shower is very nice. Housekeeping always kept the room very tidy. Definitely will stay here again.

Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis für Barbados stimmt, die Zimmer sind recht groß. Ein Supermarkt ist 10 Gehminuten entfernt, der Oistins Fish Market 15 Gehminuten. Hier kann man auch jeden Abend essen, besonders freitags ist dort viel los. Kleinere Strände sind in der Nähe vom Hotel, ein größerer (Dover Beach) ist 20 Gehminuten entfernt. Wir würden bei einem erneuten Barbados-Besuch wieder im Butterfly Beach Hotel übernachten.

The property was great but I wasn't too crazy about the location. It was difficult to find a place to eat so we ate at the restaurant inside the hotel one too many times. Right before arriving we stayed in St. Lawrence Gap, it was just a big transition since you can walk to anywhere quickly at the gap. Staff and cleanliness is overall good.

For a moderately priced hotel, it’s one of the best. Close to airport, Clean, comfortable, restaurant on premises and great beach. Walking distance to Oistins/The Gap. The best part are the employees, they do a wonderful job making you feel at home. A sincere Thank you everyone at Butterfly Beach for making our trip an enjoyable one as always. Can’t wait to return!

Always love this hotel. Close to Oistins Fish Fry, and grocery store. Easy to get around from here. Buses available right out side. Clean, quiet, enjoyed the pool and the refreshing welcome drink.

Great location on beach near Oistins fish market, easy to get about without a car as plentiful bus routes right outside the hotel. Spacious comfortable room with kitchenette and balcony, great 60m pool for swimming and another for sunbathing. Nice, reasonably priced restaurant/ bar with 2 happy hours per day. Great vibe overall.

It’s right in the middle of everything in Oistins! Right down the street from the fish fry.

I liked the location buses are very accessible to travel around the island the hotel is very clean and staff are very friendly and helpful very pleasant atmosphere nice to be overlooking the beach and the swimming pool

Highly recommend this hotel!! Very clean, quaint..great patio on the ocean. True to the local culture and decor. If only one thing our group noticed, the service at the restaurant was a little slow…however the meals are fantastic.

The brekfast was monotonous the same thing everday you have to pay for a omelet of your choice did not rent a car The room i choose i was satisfied with it

Second visit. Didn’t disappoint. Lovely little hotel. Perfectly placed for beaches and public transport. Food, drinks and staff all lovely.

It was a beautiful location, but hotel was dated. Restaurant was beach front but was not really impressed with the food or service. I only stayed for one night so all was not an issue. If I were to spend a week there, I may have been disappointed.

I love everything thing about my stay from the warm and friendly greetings upon arrival until departure. The only thing I did not like is The Reef restaurant the staff need to be retrained they were not friendly or helpful and the food was ok not great which made us eat out every day

great location, right on the the beach. Nice and quiet hotel. The breakfast was below average. Staff were very kindly and helpful.

So glad we chose this hotel for the first part of our trip. Very lovely small hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. The beach is beautiful. We ate lunch twice at the hotel restaurant and were very pleased.
