Kegworth Hotel East Midlands Airport

A nice clean, comfortable room with hot water and good WiFi. The bar was well stocked for a night cap, The hotel is really close to the M1 and 5 mins drive from a village with a pub and curry house.

Slight air of dereliction in the car park and hotel common areas.Staff somewhat overstretched eg one person for Bar and Reception etc That said people were friendly and the room clean. Slight noise from main road +East Midlands airport meant the window couldn't be left open. Car park was free if you booked in which was a + It wasn't particularily cheap but did the job.

Good location. Clean. Bed ok. Service at front desk very good. Needs lighting outside though in the car park. Good price shower didn’t get hot

Arrived late but plenty of parking, friendly welcome from reception and quick check-in. Room was perfect for a single person for one night. I didn't have time for food but the vegan menu was extensive!

A decent hotel with pleasant staff. we stayed in a double room for one night. The room was on the upper floor with both lift and staircase access. We had an evening meal at the hotel which was ok but we didn't bother with breakfast. The hotel has a decent sized carpark with plenty of room during our stay. We would definitely use this hotel again.

Free parking for guests, friendly staff and an extremely comfortable bed

Should do a full check that everything is working between guests.Parking operated by cowboy company where you have to register number plate.Threat of penalty charge for infringement.

Nothing bad to stay and far better experience than the last hotel I stayed at in the area which was a major chain. Will defiantly stay here again.

The hotel is disgusting.. filthy dirty, my room had hair all over carpet .. not been cleaned at all .. bathroom dirty .. thick black dust in skirting the tv screen filthy .. had stains on bed base .. the veranda was dangerous inwill be reporting to trading standards . This has to be the worst ever I left the hotel no way was I staying .. the hotel will not reply to me .. I have asked for a refund ..I will keep on until I get one . Garbage was strewn in the corridors and the dank smell of sewage

I had a room on the ground floor which is awful for noise and sleeping as the ceiling was so thin I could hear people walking around upstairs. They weren’t stamping but it was so loud and when it’s at 3am it’s really irritating. The room was clean and tidy although I was told there was no maid service during my 3 night stay so no bed making and no clean towels or cups etc unless requested and I wasn’t clear on why that was. Staffing issues? I ate once in the hotel which was sufficient but hardly an enjoyable meal. With the hotel being so near to the airport I wondered if it catered less for conference room users and more for people catching flights and thus having to come/go in the early hours accounting for the noise. One lady with glasses on reception desk area was lovely, cheery and friendly though and that made a difference!

Nice and clean. Good sized room. Bathroom shower and taps a bit on the old side but fine. Great value for money, would definitely stay again.

The room was dirty the soap dish, hair dryer, kettle, drawers, skirting boards, pillow case had mouldy spots bed was uncomfortable. There was notice on these items to say I Items had been sanitised for our own safety, when it clearly hadn’t.

The hotel looks very tired,needs refurbishment. There is a notice informing people that there is a problem with the hot water. It takes 15/20 minutes to get hot water in room 11. Bed was very comfy and clean but the decor needs updating also the bathroom. (Black mould around the tileing)staff were very helpful and friendly. Would i stay again only as a last resort

This was just the ticket for me - competitively priced, good location and clean place to stay whilst visiting family nearby. I would describe it as 'functional' not necessarily where you would stay as a destination but good if you need somewhere to stay en route to where you are going or attending a conference etc. Breakfast had everything you would expect.

Smelly room. A pungent drain smell. I asked to be moved but was told there was no other rooms available. I cut my stay short as I couldn't stick the smell. I only sayed one night in the end, but paid for 2

I stayed 3 nights my room wasnt cleaned once , hotel was dated

Staff were all pleasant and the hotel was clean. Check-in is quite technological, which is fine when the tablet doesn't reset itself and you need to start again filling the form in. A big deal? Depends how many hours you've been driving to get there. I didn't eat at the hotel, though others were doing and the food looked properly done. The room had a bath, which is always a plus, though the over-shower wasn't great, did the job of dropping hot water onto the head. The bed was okay, a little on the firm side. My main gripe would be that the walls are thin and soundproofing is poor. If the people next door had watched tv until the small hours it would have been irritating. If they had been having words, it would have been free entertainment. Swings and roundabouts...

The property was great for a very short stay! Free parking is always a bonus. Just a few things though.. the walls are like paper so if there is someone in the room next door with their tv on, you can hear it as if it’s your own- if their alarm goes off, it will very quickly wake you too etc- if you are on the ground floor and don’t mind people looking into your room when opening the curtains- keep them closed for your trip The room unfortunately, had only 1 working plug socket out of 2 next to the mirror but the sockets on one lamp on 1 side of the room did work. The other side of the room had a broken lamp and no sockets. The light over the mirror also was broken. The soap/body wash/shampoo disp in the shower was empty! Recommendations for anyone visiting in the future, bring your own shampoo/conditioner/ body wash etc Dirty towels are only changed at the end of your visit (don’t let the sign in the bathroom advising to leave dirty towels in the bath to be exchanged for fresh, fool you) however, if you do need a fresh towel, the reception staff are have to oblige! Also, if you would like a decent breakfast- pop to ‘The Otter’ only a 10 mins drive away! Very tasty and filling! (I would personally recommend bringing your own snacks /drinks if you can’t easily leave the hotel- transport links / reliable Wi-Fi and phone reception is minimal) I would stay here again as the location is very handy but now I have experienced it, I will remember my own tips going forward :)

This is a great cheap place to stay if you want a base in the Leicester area. It’s actually quite cheap but you do get what you pay for. Overall the rooms are a great size but the whole building feels very tired and you can see it needs a lot of repairs. In our room the main heating source didn’t work and instead we had a plug in heater. Unfortunately it took ages to heat up and due to the rooms being quite big we didn’t really feel the benefit until after a couple of hours. The beds are very hard and if you’re used to a soft mattress back home they are quite hard to sleep on. Have to say the shower was wonderful and again a great sized bathroom. The staff were absolutely wonderful during our 3 days. Couldn’t fault any of them. Very pleasant and the front desk is manned 24/7. In terms of food it’s basic but good value for money. We had breakfast both mornings and couldn’t fault portions/wait times etc plenty of choice. We also tried the restaurant one night and for £25 got a 3 course meal and a drink. Great choice and all of the food was tasty and served quickly. If you’re looking for luxury this isn’t that type of hotel but if you want to throw your items in a room and head out for the day I couldn’t recommend it enough due to the price.

Bed sides covered in coffee staines Most importantly the shower was scalding hot and couldn't be turned down. According to the staff on duty I was the fourth quest to report the shower. The room was clean and the bath towels were spot on large and thick and soft. Staff in the mornings was very good as she was was jack of all trades. Cook, reception and breakfast attendant to name just theee.

Heater did not work... Hope next time it will be fixed

Unfortunately this trip i was given room 13...remote was still not working reminded me of then70's manually changing channels... Also the toilet wouldn't flush 😳 Otherwise all ok.

The room was in good condition, but there were a few issues. 1) there was a smell eminating from the toilet 2) the bedside light worked intermittently, 3) the heating controls were hard to decipher and there were no instructions.

Very noisy as is on flight path to East Midlands airport. There’s cargo planes landing about every 45 mins all night long. If you are a light sleeper this isn’t for you. Rooms are fine and bed was comfortable. However we were leaving early and tried to have a shower but no hot water. When we checked out mentioned this to reception where the guy just pointed at a sign saying “run taps and shower for ten minutes” this was never pointed out to us at check in and this information really should have been put in the rooms.

At check in the reception said I hadn’t paid and they would need to charge me for a room. I showed them that I’d booked through Expedia and payment had been taken. Eventually she said payment had gone through from Expedia, so just be aware of this as they wanted me to claim money back from Expedia and pay them directly. The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows weren’t great, I did find hair in the bed and the room had an unpleasant smell in it. This was booked for a quick nights sleep for an early flight so I wasn’t expecting much and it was very cheap. We’re regular travellers and have stayed in lots of cheap hotels this one was the worst !

Have used this hotel on business trips a few times. Usually freindly with good pub style food and comfortable rooms plus great parking. This stay was not as good due to grumpy staff, poor service, especially breakfast and guest complaints being discussed loudly at reception. Shame because normally i like this hotel. Its all in the detail.

Nice room, staff very friendly Excellent value

The hotel was ideally located for a family wedding celebration and very easy to find with plenty of free parking available. The room was showing it's age, but in no way affected our enjoyment of the stay; and breakfast was spot on. The staff are without doubt Kegworth's best asset: everyone we encountered during our stay was friendly, helpful and professional. I was especially grateful on Saturday morning to the lovely lady who kindly printed out my wedding speech for me (I'd left the original at home - yes, I'm a numpty!) Thank you all C :-)

Heating in the room didn’t work and there was no WiFi despite it being advertised as coming with free WiFi. Staff were also unhelpful when I tried to raise concerns and just blamed the manager who wasn’t on site.

Booked as an over nighter for an early flight. Good price good food nice staff. The place is a little old but we’ve stayed before and is perfect for us to stay before an early flight

Excellent for East Midlands airport. Room was really good, spacious, clean and warm. Much better than a Premier Inn/Travelodge. Would definitely book again next time flying from EMA.

Convenient location , competitively priced

Stayed here as a base for World SuperBike racing at Donington Park. Good Location distance-wise. Staff very friendly and excellent customer service. Food in the Olive restaurant was good. Quiet in the hotel. Hotel could probably do with a bit of TLC in the next couple of years, but overall our stay was pleasant - super comfy bed. Would resturn.

Great location, really friendly and helpful staff, plenty of free parking, large and very clean room, will be my default choice for future visits to Donnington Park.

Good stay - slept well - bed was comfortable and the room very clean. Excellent shower. Thought the food was good and reasonably priced. Only small negative - the receptionist -whilst being very professional never smiled !

Cooked breakfast was poor. Coffee / Tea was from a machine and not good quality. Considering breakfast was £12, that was disappointing and not nearly worth it. Room was decent for the price.

Cant complain at £49 but i have nothing to complain about. Nice new bathroom towels. Breakfast was good for £8.95.

Check in was good, room dirty, shower curtain was disgusting, looked like it had never been cleaned. Food was awful, was with my partner and our meals came out separately, my partners starter came out first and then 15 mins later my starter came out, and my partners main course then came out, mine came out cold as if they had just left it on the side.

Easy to drive too friendly staff clean rooms the coffee out of the machine is undrinkable don’t even try it apart from that would stay again
