The hotel is in sad need of refurbishment. My room had peeling paint, water stained ceilings, some black damp on the bathroom ceiling and a discoloured patch on the wall where a painting had previously hung with the old screws left in situ. The sink was cracked and there were no bedside lamps or sockets. The hair dryer was so noisy it was unusable. Whoever the cleaner was had done the best job with the poor room though and the staff were helpful and friendly. It's a shame because it is in a good place for travelling north or south and the outside is lovely. Plenty of parking as well.

Bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable, was 2 single beds pushed together which made a dip in the centre, also the base was too big for the mattresses which made it difficult to get in/out of bed, and one side of the bed was impossible to reach the cabinet due the the room being a twin room.

The most notable thing was the friendly staff, who were very kind and helpful. We had to rush off on the Friday morning and left something in our room, and someone phoned and we made arrangements to collect on our return journey.
