Very well maintained property . The leisure facilities were nice and children enjoyed the pool services. It’s not free you have to pay to use. Room type we booked was very spacious for a family of 5. Location is good to explore the highlands from Dundee town itself is very pretty We enjoyed our stay

Room was clean and staff was friendly. Disappointed they charge each guest $7 pounds ti use pool. About $16 Canadian! Also the sell memberships to local residents to use facilities. Guest compete with locals to enjoy the swimming pool hot tub and saunas. Not pleased

Room was third floor too small with low bathroom roof , fixtures and furnishings old appears a little dated , spa was in poor condition , jucuzi out of use and changing area poor . Staff were fine .

Terrible reception manager and maintenance lazy to say the least. Beds never made/towels full of holes and thin, everything shabby. Shower covered in black mould and smelly. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere

i have used the Woodlands Hotel on several occasions and it is always clean and in good order, The rooms i book are large and very clean and comfortable. The food is pretty good but has a limited menu. the bar and restaurant area is very comfortable and the waiters are very good. if i have one gripe, it is that you now charge £5.00 to use the pool/sauna, where it was always included in your room rate. i dont know of any other hotel who does this. but as i said it is only a small gripe and will not deter me from staying hear again.

The place is so lovely and welcoming, staff are attentive and so friendly. The choice of food was excellent and what we ordered was delicious . The only thing that let it down a bit was the room wasn’t as clean as it could have been and the next day clean wasn’t done properly. We spoke to manager and she sorted it straight away. Will definitely stay again . Beautiful four poster bed was nice suprise. We joined the Best Western membership that lets you know about offers etc . All in all thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay.

The room was run down. Some things were easy fixes such as holes in the lampshades and grout coming off the floor as you walked on it. It was far too warm and we had to keep our window open the whole time listening to noise. The remote was grubby, there were stains in the bathroom and the wardrobe was dusty. If we had another choice at the time, we wouldnt have stayed. The staff was lovely though.

Property was clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful. Check in was swift and well organised. Only issue was the temperature. With the warm weather the room was sweltering and there was no way to cool it down. Even with the windows open as far as possible and the portable fan fully on the room was unbearably hot. With a young child this was not ideal.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, just a minor hiccup on arrival, waste bin had not been emptied, bed had been sat or rumbled on it a bit & tea tray not stocked up. Dining room staff friendly & attentive at all meals, will stay again

The updated rooms are really nice. The older ones need updating. You get charge extra to use the leisure suite which I don’t agree with. Breakfast is ok. If it’s not buffet you get 1 of each item which I feel it makes it not worth the £12.50.

Room was unbearablly hot, no heating was on and there is only an old fan in the room to try keep it cool..Think I was above the spa area and this could be the cause of the relentless heat...There is a fairly awkward arrangement between the bar and restaurant for food and the tv in the bar is rather small and poorly placed. There is a decent selection of largers and nice outdoor sitting area, rooms were clean and serived daily...The tv in the room is of a good size and larger than the one in the lounge bar..

Very pleasant staff. Hotel in lovely location and grounds very well maintained. Room comfortable but beds require to be looked at with view to replacing. One side was sagging and the other side had a spring at hip position which was very uncomfortable. Decor and carpets slightly worn and tired. Unfortunately there was a medical incident at breakfast and there did not appear to be an in site first aider. Dining staff flustered and shaken, not knowing what to do. An ambulance was called by Reception and attended. Thankfully all was well in end.

No one on reception when we arrived. Had to walk round the hotel to find someone. You now have to pay to use their leisure suite. A bit of warning about that would have been nice. Our breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. I think they need to do some customer service training though. All in all didn’t live up to its price tag. I would go to Carnoustie Golf Hotel in future.

Attended hotel where our friends funeral wake was taken place reason for the stay. The staff very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant food was delicious and food came very quickly and there was no rush to remove us when restaurant was closed.

Our room was up 2 flights stairs, no lift, not good, not explained there was no lift. Both have walking difficulties. No offer of assistance with luggage. All staff were polite, helpful and friendly. Food average. Parking good. Nice town to visit; Broughty Ferry. Overall happy stay.

Very good trip to Scotland to celebrate a special 97 th birthday. The hotel was ideal for us to meet family there and have drinks and a meal together. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was very good although the evening menu was a little limited. Would stay there again .

Very pleasant staff. Hotel in lovely location and grounds very well maintained. Room comfortable but beds require to be looked at with view to replacing. One side was sagging and the other side had a spring at hip position which was very uncomfortable. Decor and carpets slightly worn and tired. Unfortunately there was a medical incident at breakfast and there did not appear to be an in site first aider. Dining staff flustered and shaken, not knowing what to do. An ambulance was called by Reception and attended. Thankfully all was well in end.

Very nice hotel,upgraded to a superior room,recently refurbished and very spacious and clean,very quiet,fantastic staff no waiting at reception,dining room very good,meal excellent,my only concern it’s up a steep hill and I don’t drive,beautiful views

Hotel is sitting a nice quiet residential area. Staff were friendly. You had to book a time slot for breakfast which we have never experienced anywhere before.

Very well maintained property . The leisure facilities were nice and children enjoyed the pool services. It’s not free you have to pay to use. Room type we booked was very spacious for a family of 5. Location is good to explore the highlands from Dundee town itself is very pretty We enjoyed our stay

It was a quiet location however the late night staff woke me up with their enthusiastic chatter during their smoke break in the middle of the night. Otherwise good experience.

Our room was up 2 flights stairs, no lift, not good, not explained there was no lift. Both have walking difficulties. No offer of assistance with luggage. All staff were polite, helpful and friendly. Food average. Parking good. Nice town to visit; Broughty Ferry. Overall happy stay.

Very good trip to Scotland to celebrate a special 97 th birthday. The hotel was ideal for us to meet family there and have drinks and a meal together. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was very good although the evening menu was a little limited. Would stay there again .

This is listed as a 3-star hotel but it has 5 star heart. The hotel is a wee bit tired but it makes up for it with how clean and airy the rooms the restaurant and the bar area and the whole hotel is spotless. Many hotels list family-friendly but that really only means facilities not with this Hotel this is the best family-friendly I have ever been to. The management and the staff make this hotel the wee gem it is nothing too much bother and smiling faces greet you. This family gives them 5 stars and without a doubt, we will be back...Oh, and the brekkie and evening meals were fab and my grandson who is 4 didn't want to leave. Thank you all for making our stay so relaxed.

i have used the Woodlands Hotel on several occasions and it is always clean and in good order, The rooms i book are large and very clean and comfortable. The food is pretty good but has a limited menu. the bar and restaurant area is very comfortable and the waiters are very good. if i have one gripe, it is that you now charge £5.00 to use the pool/sauna, where it was always included in your room rate. i dont know of any other hotel who does this. but as i said it is only a small gripe and will not deter me from staying hear again.

The room was clean, comfortable and exactly as described. Breakfast was a buffet style and everything was fresh and well cooked. The bar would be better if there were some local beer’s available either on draft or in bottles

La habitación olía a aceite frito, los muebles estaban viejos, delante de la ventana de la habitación estaban las máquinas del aire acondicionado, en definitiva un horror Tuvimos que bajar a protestar y después de ponernos malas caras y con bastante desgana nos cambiaron de habitación, pero es increíble que puedan dar a algún huésped una habitación como la que nos dieron.

Friendly staff got us checked in early as the room was ready. For a small charge we got a pass for the pool for 24 hours which was lovely. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Didn't eat here so can't comment on food. There was a wedding going on but it was nice and quiet in our room so it didn't disturb us.

Only stayed for the one night, Room 137 Poor sleep due to the noise coming from the AC Unit outside as it was a very warm night and had to open the window. There was a fan in the room but this wasn't enough to keep cool. Wasn't impressed with a charge that there was a charge to use the pool £7.50 I wasn't aware of this at the time when I booked but this was probably my own fault for not reading it properly. Probably wouldn't stay there again.
