Barnett Hill Hotel

Still awaiting reply to you as to our being charged £23 more via this website rather than what the hotel said ok Ur room cost. Bar staff lovely but only 16 and not allowed to serve alcohol!! We didn't manage to get a drink before going out. No lighting and path very dangerous going down to the Courtyard. Beautiful place just very poorly run

Pleasant stay, grounds well kept. Lovely treatment had. Friendly and polite staff on hand.

Another great stay at Barnett Hill. The service and friendliness of everyone working at Barnett Hill was again first class. They made Jane and I and also our dog Mia feel so welcome and they could do enough for you. This is an outstanding hotel, with a wide variety of drinks in the excellent 1905 bar and the a la carte menu also available to us in the bar so Mia could be with us. Thanks to everyone at Barnett Hill Peter, Jane and Mia

Lovely hotel in nice quiet grounds. We upgraded to luxury king and recommend- huge bathroom! Very tasty breakfast cooked on order. Outside areas need some Tlc - original greenhouses need repairs & wooded area needs cutting back as couldnt walk through. Great base for drive into Guildford

Just awful, dried toothpaste in the bathroom and no restaurant, the chef stormed out apparently. Pretty worn in places. Def not luxury.

Stay was great and room very comfy and clean, however the only downer was that check in wasn't until 3pm and if you wanted to check in earlier its £50 extra. which was a load of nonsense. I had to get changed for a wedding in the toilet which was less than ideal. Staff were great

Beautiful location and property with attentive staff. The room was ample and clean with modern design and lovely new bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and will recommend to friends and family.

Dirty carpets, fan not working, paint coming off door double bed was just 2 singles push together. A very disappointing and over priced stay

Very grand exterior and of course with the title luxury hotel. It clearly leans towards corporate and wedding functions which is fine but to the detriment of the hotel. We ate in the bar first night where staff seemed confused. Our starters were left of the order and the food took an extraordinary long time to be served considering it was only a burger and club sandwich with chips. Breakfast although nice was a long wait, had a limited choice of juice and again there seemed to be a lot of unorganised staff. Our room was the biggest disappointment. It was at the top of the building and reached via very steep stairs. decor nothing special and the shower was over bath. The bath was high and seemed short. There was a slopping roof at the end so you have to play twister to get in. The shower head was low so even at average height I had to stoop to get under it and the water pressure was low. Not a very enjoyable experience all round to the point we did not look forward going back to the room. It seemed this is a spare room so not sure why I was booked into it. The hotel did not seem fully booked and there were several rooms available when I booked it. Maybe because I checked late or I booked via Hotels. Poor value for money. I suggest you request not to have room 9 if you book this hotel.

Poor was in very poor condition, carpet damaged, bed side locker shelf broken. Bathroom was very poor with grout missing on most of tiles and shower was tiny.

Hotel was pleasant enough. Booked a "cozy double" - and that is what I got. Hotel lets itself down in the cost for extras. Overpriced food and drink - portion sizes are questionable - £15 for a prawn cocktail - which was basically a mouthful! also, not the best ingredients used and breakfast orange was awful! Plus charged extra for an extra pot of tea at breakfast! Bit of a rip off - shame really. At check out tried to charge me again for the room - didnt know how to take off bill as paid hotels.com

Staff were very helpful and friendly; mostly locals who could help with knowledge of the area. Food nicely presented and flavourful; though dinner menu slightly restricted --- not that one wishes to see one that's too long. Wine list also a bit meagre, but those available were good.

Everything was nice except breakfast which was akin to a holiday inn. Disappointing for a four star hotel.

This hotel is cheap during the week and designed for couples. Has very expensive "treatments" and a somewhat mediocre room option. Food was very expensive, (I ate out).
