The room smelled musty and like smoke. The controller did not turn the TV on and off; it just changed the channels. There was no cleaning solution in the gym to wipe the machine off nor was there water. I asked the front desk about this and was told that since Covid was over, they removed the cleaning solution but that there was still hand sanitizer outside the gym door. Very disappointing!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean; it is a bit “worn”, for example, the heater in the window had exposed foam insulation around it, but it did not have any negative impact on our stay. The food at the included breakfast was good, there were several options including both hot and continental options, and the buffet was well maintained. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The sound from the hallway and other rooms does carry in this hotel so light sleepers would benefit from brining earplugs. The location was very convenient, and we didn’t have to pay extra to park the rental car which was great. The website indicates that there is a business centre; however, it is simply a desk in the lobby. The wifi is fine to work in your room, but do not expect an actual conference room or office/workspace. We did not use the pool, but it appeared to be very clean. This hotel was convenient, clean, and comfortable for our 2-night stay.

I called in advance to inquire about the exercise room to ensure it was in working order. Staff told me it was. On my first morning I learned that it was closed for maintenance. I spoke to the staff, nothing was offered to get me to come back again in the future. I wasnt looking for a discount, just something to bring me back again. Got zero.

Had knee surgery and the hotel had lots of levels and stairs. Pool did not look clean. Was not able to swim. Breakfast was the same every day. Not much variety. Nice people clean place but old and inconvenient.

If you enjoy carrying your suitcase up stairs it’s a great place to stay. Even if you took the elevator, at the opposite end of the hotel from where you check in, you’re still having to carry it up a variety of stairs

Rooms were comfortable and clean. Obviously they’re still in the process of renovating, but my room was very nice. Staff were INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful! A ramp off the from porch would make navigating through the building much easier, since it’s currently impossible to reach the front desk/breakfast room from the elevator without going outside.

It was an good place for the price. But everything was just ok. The pool was nothing special with no pool liner so be careful on the sides, the breakfast was hit or miss with something's over cooked because they didn't remove the old stuff. The room was clean but there was chips in the tub and sink. The toilet seat was peeling some how. The key cards we had a hard time with in our door but they always worked the first time at the pool so there is something wrong with the door. We were looking for ice at one point and the staff were in the back, could see us but didn't come out. When we did find the ice it wasn't working and said to go back to the front seat. We were there for a weekend with our family with our children so it was good for that but if you are planning a special time, I would suggest going somewhere else

The hotel needs alot of work, but for the price, it was fine..The Perks: free hot breakfast & parking...The staff were good ...very helpful...the rooms have been renovated recently & quite clean...The Qwerks: the common areas in need an overhaul...pool & vending machines not in operation....corridors need a facelift...& sound proofing between rooms is next to nil...(wood framed 4 story structure)...You can hear everything below, above & on either side...and finally, it's quite far from downtown....Halifax traffic is comparable to Vancouver & TO...believe it or not...So beware...Bottom line is if you want to save $200--$300-/night opposed to staying downtown...it's a good deal.

I was assigned to a dirty room when I arrived, but that was quickly fixed. The desk staff was kind and helpful, I think she was a one woman show though. The stairs and halls are narrow for bringing bags in both arms, having help getting to room 2 would have been very welcoming. My second day, housekeeping came in the room to empty garbage but didn’t replenish TP or Kleenex, bed wasn’t made and no vacuuming. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but my expectations were full housekeeping or none. (I prefer none) The pool was slightly cloudy with algae growth around the edges. The phone at poolside didn’t work, but the desk is close enough to yell to if you open the poolroom door. I saw lots of video feeds, so I assume they’d notice a commotion in the pool area. Parking was good, I’d prefer designated check in parking spots instead of gold and diamond members. I noticed a sports car without placards in the accessible parking spot, and mentally hexed them. I was placed in an accessible room. (I don’t require one, they were sold out) I noticed the shower had about a 4” lip to step over, and inside it was not wide enough for a wheelchair. There was no detachable spray head, and no drain in the bathroom floor, just in the shower. There was a wheelchair level peephole in the door. The bathroom sink had shelving underneath. There was tons of space inside the bathroom to move around. I think the room was almost too tight for a wheelchair, but you could

The staff was amazing and accommodating! What we didn't like was the cleanliness and the fact that we had a mouse in our room. We had to switch between 3 different rooms. Location is great though. Would I stay at this comfort inn again??? Probably not!

It was an okay stay; friendly staff; decent breakfast. We had a room without a window or AC. Feelt like a sauna, AC in another room was so loud that they couldn't use it at night. No shower at the pool, so people walk in as they are. Some hicups with the cleaning staff, like forgot to close our room after cleaning, etc.

VERY comfortable room, we had the standard king room. it was really quiet, food in the breakfast was good as well, waffle maker, ham and sausages, scrambled eggs, Keurig with Van Houtte coffee selections and hot chocolate. Will definitly stay here again. Its our 2nd time here

Arrived late due to flight delay but front desk was still open. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable and room was really clean. Only issue was that the tv didn't work..couldn't get any channels at all.. Breakfast was very good and wide selection of options. Surprised to see ham on the breakfast which was delicious Overall it exceeded expectations for a comfort inn and a one night stay Definitely will come vack for a longer stay

Upon check in we had a room with a separate bedroom so the room was very spacious and clean! The building itself appears old and in need of some repairs but our room was recently updated and very comfortable! We had a view of the ocean and watched the sunrise which was beautiful! The breakfast that was included had several options and was good. We really enjoyed our stay!

Only stayed one night and out of all the places we stayed on our vacation, this place was the noisiest. I heard people stomping up the steps in the hall at 2:00 a.m. and people walking around in the room above us in the middle of the night. In the morning, I smelled pot coming through our bathroom vent even though it is a non smoking hotel. The carpet is very worn, especially on the steps ( they should probably put a plastic runner down to protect the carpet from so many people walking on it). The breakfast was fine but the breakfast room was too small for such a large Hotel.
Only stayed one night and out of all the places we stayed on our vacation, this place was the noisiest. Fairly quiet location, rooms appointed with nice practical modern furniture. Good bed and sofa bed, but the room was very tight. Hard to get around sofa bed when it was pulled out. Hot breakfast very good and replenished regularly. Only complaint is that the coin laundry washer was unreliable and sometimes didn't start after taking my money. Had to work with front desk several times to resolve the issue.

The staff were wonderful! The building is under renovations but that didn't impact our stay. The breakfast was excellent. The desk staff were kind, professional and very helpful!!

Check in process was painfully long, only to get assigned a room that was already occupied. Returned to desk and waited 15 minutes but no one was there. Had to go exploring in the basement to find an employee to give us a vacant room. Heater didn’t work in room.

I have stayed at this property multiple times and my last day was very disappointing. I will not be returning to the heard. In there was blood stains on my bedding. A yogurt wrapper on the floor when we ask for a different room. The second option there was urine and feces. Stains on the brand new carpet from an animal. So we resorted going back to our first room. They gave us which wasn't only dirty. I failed to mention it smelt like wet dog. The bathroom door was black. There was at least 500 different Fingerprints very disappointing. And then when we went to ask the staff member down at the desk the first evening we registered. He actually got in my face and told me. I wasn't understanding him when I was clearly explaining to him. That it was a confirmation number on the receipt. Not my Mastercard number. It was a horrible stay. We checked out a night early and very unfortunate. We also were not the only people to check out. There were 6 other people that checked out the same time we did due to the. Lack of cleanliness and ignorant, stand the girl. That refunded my stay for the day that we weren't going to stay. There was rude, as well also told me that her boss was only being nice and she did not have to give me back my money. It was very disappointing

I was impressed with the staff , front desk ladies were so helpful with our stay, the food was great and our only setback was transportation. Bus routes weren’t clear with all the construction in the downtown area . I feel a car was a necessity for this hotel location, however there was certainly not the noise that you would have to deal with in the inner core. We enjoyed the pool too! The deck was lovely to relax on for our morning coffee!

This property was beautiful, the porch on the front is so nice to sit in and enjoy the view of the water and Halifax in the distance. It was easy to commute to downtown and surrounding areas. I would’ve preferred tile or vinyl/wood looking flooring as carpets in general gross me out but the room smelled clean, bathroom was clean & had great water pressure. Breakfast was good and had options for everyone. Overall really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again should we be back in Halifax

The hotel needs alot of work, but for the price, it was fine..The Perks: free hot breakfast & parking...The staff were good ...very helpful...the rooms have been renovated recently & quite clean...The Qwerks: the common areas in need an overhaul...pool & vending machines not in operation....corridors need a facelift...& sound proofing between rooms is next to nil...(wood framed 4 story structure)...You can hear everything below, above & on either side...and finally, it's quite far from downtown....Halifax traffic is comparable to Vancouver & TO...believe it or not...So beware...Bottom line is if you want to save $200--$300-/night opposed to staying downtown...it's a good deal.

Coffee machine makes good lattes, mochas, vanilla, hot chocolates, etc. Price through Expedia can’t be beat.

VERY comfortable room, we had the standard king room. it was really quiet, food in the breakfast was good as well, waffle maker, ham and sausages, scrambled eggs, Keurig with Van Houtte coffee selections and hot chocolate. Will definitly stay here again. Its our 2nd time here

Only stayed one night and out of all the places we stayed on our vacation, this place was the noisiest. I heard people stomping up the steps in the hall at 2:00 a.m. and people walking around in the room above us in the middle of the night. In the morning, I smelled pot coming through our bathroom vent even though it is a non smoking hotel. The carpet is very worn, especially on the steps ( they should probably put a plastic runner down to protect the carpet from so many people walking on it). The breakfast was fine but the breakfast room was too small for such a large Hotel.

The breakfast was good and the staff was kind, however the hallways really need some TLC. The rooms felt damp and musty. The pullout bed blocks off the rest of the room and the sheets were not changed from the last person who slept in them. It was a bit expensive for what it was. It has potential, just needs some sprucing up. Try the Syrian ice cream in town.

Overall, this hotel was okay, and you generally get what you pay for. The location is excellent and was definitely the biggest positive. It was a little overpriced during the August long weekend, but that’s to be expected. The pool is small, and the pool deck was oddly always wet. The breakfast area is also too small for the number of guests, making it feel crowded every morning. My biggest concern was the renovations on the first floor. Carpet had been pulled up and laid back down haphazardly, creating several tripping hazards. There were also exposed staples and nails in unfinished areas where I had to lift my kids over them. During our three-night stay, I never saw any maintenance staff working, so it wasn’t clear whether the renovations were actively progressing. Garbage bins in the common areas were often overflowing, and the lobby washroom was out of order for our entire stay. One small note that isn’t really the hotel’s fault: there is only one guest laundry machine, and other guests moved our laundry when we were only about 10 minutes late picking it up. The location is great, but the condition of the common areas and the way the renovations were managed left room for improvement.

We had no choice but to stay here as other places were full. The place looked and smelled old, musty and badly needed some attention everywhere. Clearly the owner does not want to invest and has no pride in their business. To top it off, the expenditure was completely outrageous for what we got. Unfortunately gives a bad vibe to the city and other chain locations. That trust is gone!
