Lovely hotel and bar but not without issues. There is very limited parking. We arrived 2 hours prior to check in and the parking was full - plus they ask £15 per night for guests. Breakfast was excellent, the rooms are small but well equipped. The lifts are a law to themselves - overall it was a nice stay but don’t expect to park your car here

We had to wait untill after 3pm to check-in.. we arrived at 2.30 but had to wait.. The Wi-Fi was no good from our Room it was non existent .. but our room was lovely & clean

Very central for all facilities within Harrogate. Loved the dining room for breakfast on the higher floor, providing views across Harrogate. Excellent breakfast using local quality produce. Loved it, and will return!

Great hotel in the middle of Harrogate, walking distance in any direction to shops, bars & restaurants. John Street at the back of the hotel is very quaint with an assortment of independent bars, bistro's and pubs serving food. The room was spacious, clean and upt to date. Large bar (Pickled Sprout) down stairs which was also open to the public serving food was very popular. Highly recommend

Lovely hotel, well located, a great bar and restaurant with a varied and affordable menu. Breakfast in the skybar was lovely!

No A/C in the rooms so it was very hot. The hotel did provide a fan which helped a little. The wifi reception on the 3rd floor was terrible and connection was difficult. When I mentioned this on check-out the hotel told me it was only advertised as free wifi because it was poor quality and "dodgy". Unbelievable.

didn't like the lifts. floor numbers didn't match the actual floor. \staff agreed with our views of the lifts. The Lifts took a long time to reach the requested floor. the towels were rough and not fully "white" No toweling shower mat. No continental breakfast with meats and cheese. The room was perfectly clean. Nice that the window had been open. the cool air fan was barely adequate, not enough power. Outside table were a super addition since the last time we visited. The decor was excellent in the public areas, except the breakfast room. Carpet was very dirty, with tape to identify dangerous area. \would go there again for the central location.

Great value for money, clean and exceptionally friendly staff. Only downside is parking is first come first serve and if you arrive later in the evening like we did you will have to park on the street.

From checking in to check out everyone was brilliant the only one thing was the aproch to to restaurant carpet was a bit stained and looked dirty But will definitely be back again soon 👍👍👍

Located in the heart of Harrogate. This is an ideal place for being able to walk around all the attractions and shops. Toilet seat in our room was dirty- not sure what it was but we cleaned it off!

The room was freezing ,very cold , only a small radiator in room, no radiators , no fridge , no bar , no safe.Coffee in the the room was poor , Nescafé , appoling . All windows steamed up in the morning , everything humid in bathroom , no face cloths You could hear every step from above , very poor soundproofing and flooring. Floor universe in our room, risks or tripping . We had the “DO NOT DISTURB “ on the door , cleaners still walked in , without notice , even hesitated to walk out when asked . Only one key provided. Left some small rubbish on the bedside table first night , was still there day after cleaning . Black hairs under the sheet , uneven quilt , very lumpy , very poor quality , the standard of bed making very poor . Talking about breakfast , very dry , very poor , no sparkling water , only orange and apple juice , eggs very rubbery , sausages dry , poor choice of fruit , coffee very poor . Staff looking lost and not with it . We had to have the remote control repaired , standards overall very poor . Massive disappointment !!!

Terrible. We arrived early and left our luggage with reception who said they would call us when the room was ready and take our luggage up for us. We never received a call and returned to the hotel at 5pm to find our luggage had not been taken to the room as promised. After taking the second lift (since the first lift was broken) we entered our freezing cold room to find the heating was turned off and the window left wide open leaving the window ledge and carpet below soaking wet! Having unpacked we discovered swathes of spider webs across the ceiling. We then made the discovery that the deluxe DOUBLE room was just two single beds pushed together! We complained to reception who said they couldn’t do anything about it because they were fully booked (how this place is fully booked I’ll never understand!). We were told to complain again the following day when the general manager would be in. Sadly, this turned out to be another false statement as the general manager was nowhere to be found. Although we were offered a rather measly £30 voucher (which we declined). Upon checking out we wasn’t even asked how we slept and was told that someone would be in touch in the next 2-3 days to resolve our problems - we’re still yet to hear anything. Having stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago, it has sadly gone drastically downhill. The reception staff were borderline incompetent and the deluxe double room was shoddy at best and a dump at worst. We will not be returning!

I noticed a lot of scuffs on my bedroom door and around the hotel, which for a 4 star hotel I was surprised and disappointed with.

The hotel was lovely and in a great location. Our only complaint is room 110 which we were in is right above the bins and on both evenings and morning there was a lot of loud noise.The hotel staff deposited the bottles from the bar into the bins and also at 0700 on the second morning it was bin emptying day and that was really noisy.

Our room lacked AC, which, given we stayed on one of the hottest days of the year, meant we had a truly dreadful night. Our small room was grossly overheated & very uncomfortable.

While the hotel and room were lovely, the heat in the room was beyond anything I’ve experienced. It made it impossible to sleep and resulted in one of the worst nights sleep I’ve ever had

Room was tiny , paint flaking of windowsill , shower was so small and so was the bathroom , then woke up at 5.50 to noise wagons emptying bins from shops behind , then more wagons delivering banging beeping ! Won’t be staying here again !

Lovely stay at The Yorkshire Hotel. Really comfy bed, lovely view, spotless bathroom. We were on level 4, a little noisy due to the function room/breakfast room being above. But overall great place to stay in Harrogate!

Double Room stated small but o didn’t realise how small, actually quite tiny if I knew I would have upgraded to a smaller room.we stayed in room 113 1st floor avoid at all costs. 2 doors outside constantly banging. Late at night then 7.15 on the morning large bins to the rear being filled with bottles etc very Noisey, defo stayed in better quieter hotels in Harrogate also £15 parking fee for overnight

The hotel is lovely but the shower is the worst I've ever used.

Good hotel. Severely compromised by the shower- temperature was fine. However it was a trickle. My wife gave up trying to get the shampoo out of her hair. Took me ages just go get shower gel off. This was also a comment from other guests that we stayed with here

Fresh and attractive decor. Bar and restaurant obviously very popular though we didn’t use them. Excellent location. Staff friendly. Parking description a little deceptive: there are some spaces outside but not enough. Unsurprising given its central location. Multistory five minutes walk away but restrictions are awkward. Downside: our (admittedly last minute booked) room must be, I hope, the worst in the hotel. While fresh and clean, it was small, dark hot and stuffy. In an annex to the main hotel, access was via a succession of up and down staircases which would have been a problem to the infirm or those with much luggage. With no Aircon, ventilation was only via a window onto a rear area where the kitchen staff were continually coming and going, chatting and vaping well into the night and early in the morning just outside. Previous occupant’s complaints about the ventilation were evidenced by the presence of two freestanding fans in the room.

No air conditioning in the room so uncomfortably hot

Very tired hotel, room extremely warm no aircon, portable fan useless, just circulated the hot air. Water pressure very weak in shower!. No fridge or safe in room. Female receptionist very helpful, both male receptionists unhelpful, dissinterested to the point of rudeness. Breakfast staff were lovely as was the food.

Fabulous hotel with amazing staff.Everyone goes out of their way to help in any way.

Receptionist when we checked in was lacking any customer service skills. She was not helpful in regards to parking or information about breakfast times or location.

Clean and comfortable hotel. Poor service experience in the restaurant. Waited 20 mins after being seated before I left, tried to get attention of staff, all not looking around for customers needing service. Reception staff very helpful. Would stay again, just eat elsewhere. Great location for shops and restaurants. It’s opposite Bettys which is a bonus!

staff were excellent , could not be more helpful . Room was so spacious and kept to a high standard ate in restaurant both nights of our stay , viewing other places to eat we found the hotel restaurant much better both decor service and food,many thanks to all the staff , so central. If i had to pick a fault i would have to make it up (which i won’t) The parking was first rate , we got parked no bother however beware it’s first come first servered. Many thanks to all the staff.

We called to pre-book early check in and were told this would be guaranteed from 1pm. We arrived to be told the room wasn’t ready and the the staff member who dealt with us initially was rude and unapologetic. We waited for 15 minutes and in the end had to leave without the room being ready. The staff agreed to have our bags sent to our room, however when we returned later that night they had not been moved and were left in an unlocked room. For a £200 room, you expect a decent level of service. Would not recommend.

Great hotel in Harrogate. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. The only downside is parking, but it’s not the end of the world there are other places to park.

Lovely central hotel & restaurant would stay again but in a front facing room. Rooms at back can be noisy with a busy strip of restaurants so unable to open window as the room very warm even in December without our heating on.

Hotel is in a fantastic location to explore Harrogate & the surrounding areas. Staff I encountered were excellent. Only downside for me was our room 220 backed on to the street at the rear of the hotel & we had refuse vehicles emptying bins & other deliveries at 05:45 in the mornings,which wasn’t great. I’d definitely stay again but would ask for room at the front.

Great location, easy parking, staff were all lovely and a nice bar area downstairs. Only negative was some of the breakfast was a bit dry, mainly the scrambled and fried eggs as they stand under heat lamps but that’s quite typical of hotels, if made to order would be better, other than that all ok

An older style hotel but very clean with an excellent restaurant, the Pickled sprout. Good breakfast, lovely staff throughout hotel.

Staff very friendly. Room extremely comfortable, the shower room was immaculate. We dined at the Pickled Sprout and the meal was first class at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was self service but the quality was good.Will certainly use this hotel again.

I was unimpressed by The Yorkshire. Our double room cost over £350 (though I managed to get £60 off with OneKey). It was a box. The basics - the towels , the bed - were fine. But for that sort of money I’d expect a lot more. A nicer decor? Bottled water? A coffee machine rather than Nescafé sachets? Decent products in the bathroom? A bigger bathroom!? Nah. Nothing. Perhaps a decent breakfast would justify the cost and maybe lighten my mood? Sadly not. It was an old fashioned buffet with old fashioned standards: rubbery fried eggs, dry (over-cooked) black pudding, very salty bacon. Stewed filter coffee. Weak orange juice. The sausages were okay and at least I managed to get the last packet of crunchy nut cornflakes. Also, breakfast is served on the 5th floor, presumably so we can enjoy the views over the town. So why put everything and everybody in the back room where there is no view? We were in Harrogate for a funeral that didn’t start till after 1pm. Could we, therefore, arrange a late check-out please? Yes, but for an extra £20, on top of the £350 already paid. And only until 12.30, not 1pm. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay in some lovely hotels. And I’ve stayed on a lot of budget hotels too. The Yorkshire is sub-entry level hotel-keeping at premium prices. We were disappointed.
