We admire all those welcoming and smiling managers & staff at Hyatt Regency Kolkata. Thoroughly enjoyed fantastic ambience and amazing spread at the buffet breakfast. We hope to stay in this Hotel again and again, shall also recommend it to our friends.

Staff were friendly esp the really lovely man out front who ordered taxis for us. He is a legend and should probably be made Prime Minister of all India. The problem is that whoever says the location is good on here is maybe drunk or something because it is way way way out of Kolkata proper. That means you cannot get anywhere without a taxi. Couple of other niggles are that the air conditoning in room is quite minor (the rooms are still quite hot) and the breakfast is not very good. Great pool though. Honestly my two stars are mainly just for the location. I guess if you drive it wouldn't be an issue. Maybe worth staying at anyway to meet awesome polite guy who orders taxis out front. He's the coolest dude in Kolkata.

I have been staying here regularly for a few years now - 2 things need more attention from management: common area carpeting looks old and seems to have a stench and needs cleaning the food menu is great but the preparation doesn’t seem to be authentic for the Bengali dishes. In all would stay here next time as well.

Very clean. Amazing staff who is so efficient and responsive. Made our kids feel so special. Every request was completed in 5 min. The biggest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel. The food was amazing! The options on the "limited midnight menu" were more than most American hotels have on their full menu. The food arrived hot and fresh. Warning: they include salad and bread with the order so it'll definitely will be a lot of food. Portions are so generous. We had Maacher jhol and kosha mangsho for our first meal back in Kolkata after 10 years after coming off a 24h journey. What a treat!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I researched many hotels in Kolkata before choosing the Hyatt Regency, and I’m so glad I did. Considering the price, luxury, service, and safety — everything here is truly above the top. The hotel is very neat and clean, and the atmosphere feels both elegant and comfortable. Their breakfast is phenomenal, offering great variety and quality. The location is also convenient — not far from the international airport, which makes travel easy

HORRIBLE experience. My family and I traveled 30 hours from New York to Kolkata and booked 2 rooms, 11 nights, to attend a family wedding. Total cost $2,382.60 (2 lakhs Indian rupees) by booking through Hotels.com. Both rooms smelled AWFUL. I am a surgeon in the US and I think the hotel's ventilation system has mold. I asked Hotels.com to cancel my booking as soon as I entered the hotel - they told me the Hyatt wanted to discuss with me directly and Hotels.com would help me get a refund. The Hyatt front desk staff then told me they could not give me a refund because I booked through Hotels.com and that I would have to speak to Hotels.com about it. I immediately booked a different hotel (JW Marriott Kolkata which was wonderful) and left the Hyatt the next morning. We had to stay for 1 night because we did not want to travel in the dark in a city unfamiliar to us. We did not stay at the Hyatt for the remaining 10 nights of the booking. After 1 month of waiting to hear back, Hotels.com informed me that the Hyatt refused to issue me a refund. Basically, the hotel decided to keep its fees for 11 nights even though we only stayed for 1 night. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel. The Hyatt Regency Kolkata and its property owner are a disgrace.

We were a family of 4, and booked 2 rooms for 7 nights. The rooms were spacious, had a view of a park with a big lake in front, breakfast had very good options, even we asked for items which were not in the list - but they did not hesitate to bake and deliver. Staff are very cordial and helpful. The main course Indian meals were spicy, but as we asked they did reduce the spices.

We were a family of 4, and booked 2 rooms for 7 nights. The rooms were spacious, had a view of a park with a big lake in front, breakfast had very good options, even we asked for items which were not in the list - but they did not hesitate to bake and deliver. While hotel looks good maintains all the amenities, their standard rooms are sub par and very disappointing for the price I paid as compared to several other hotels of the same categories in which I have stayed. Room did not have robes for guests to use. Tables were cheap quality, sub standard. Complementary coffee/tea pot was kept in a cupboard which was very inconvenient to use and coffee/tea bags were of poor quality. TV remote was not working. Overall, I was very disappointed after staying in this hotel.

Have been staying at the Hyatt for quite a few years now - a very convenient place to be going any which way in Kolkata - services, staff, and ambience is excellent and makes one quite comfortable and safe. However, some things need improving to retain 5-star status - furniture very dated and torn, bathroom fixtures need a polish, closet and drawers are almost unpliable or even broken. Hoping for an uplift.

Very clean. Amazing staff who is so efficient and responsive. Made our kids feel so special. Every request was completed in 5 min. The biggest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel. The food was amazing! The options on the "limited midnight menu" were more than most American hotels have on their full menu. The food arrived hot and fresh. Warning: they include salad and bread with the order so it'll definitely will be a lot of food. Portions are so generous. We had Maacher jhol and kosha mangsho for our first meal back in Kolkata after 10 years after coming off a 24h journey. What a treat!

The worst checkin experience! The staff tried to push us to another hotel of a completely different chain that would’ve jeopardised our specific event proximity requirements significantly. There was no prior communication or any indication of any issue with our reservation made on hotels.com 10 months in advance. Multiple staff members tried to push cajole and browbeat us into accepting this alternate arrangement! However as we stayed firm on our requirements magically 2 rooms appeared only frustrating and delaying our checkin process by an hour!

Great customer service! Don’t miss the breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Airport pick up and drop off was smooth and well coordinated. If you can, do get the spa service as well. Professional staff, with awesome service. Look forward to being back again!

The quality of products available in Hyatt’s rooms are poor enough to merit a downgrade from their 5-star status. Considering the price point, chipped mugs, a non-functional refrigerator and poor quality bath products were a massive turn off. Additionally, the staff is either unaware or quite rude. Upon asking the size of the pizza available for in-room dining, the lady on the other end said that it’s a 6 inch pizza with 8 slices! Haven’t heard anything more ridiculous. It ultimately turned out to be 11 inches. We were also told to choose from the available options (which were limited to 3 to begin with) as no customisation is possible! All we asked was to customise the vegan pizza to include regular mozzarella cheese. Upon requesting multiple times, she agreed to give us a regular chicken pizza. As regards the valet, there seems to be an attitude problem. He requested us to take all our belongings in one go as it’s not possible for him to bring the car around whenever asked to do so. Further, when checking out, he asked us not to make the valet wait once the car had been brought around. The delay was due to the front desk facing a technical issue and delaying our billing. Overall, the experience was abysmal. Would recommend Westin or any Marriott Bonvoy group hotel over Hyatt.

The staff make staying here so much worth it - they go above and beyond for all requests. I have been staying here regularly for a few years now - 2 things need more attention from management: common area carpeting looks old and seems to have a stench and needs cleaning the food menu is great but the preparation doesn’t seem to be authentic for the Bengali dishes. In all would stay here next time as well.

This was a very disappointing stay starting from airport pick up till the drop off. We stayed for two nights. Even though agreed for a bigger car for airport pick up, the hotel sent a smaller car which made our 40 minutes journey from airport to the hotel as hell. Service in the restaurants, bars are awful. In the regency bar, ordered a coffee which took more than an hour to serve after 10 times reminder even though the floor was not busy. On the day of the airport drop off, we were nearly missing our flight due to delay in getting a porter sent into the room and getting the car ready. The hotel need a whole revamp of service improvements programme. The only positive was Anant ( assistant manager on duty) who tried to ease our experience as best possible. Will avoid this hotel in future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I researched many hotels in Kolkata before choosing the Hyatt Regency, and I’m so glad I did. Considering the price, luxury, service, and safety — everything here is truly above the top. The hotel is very neat and clean, and the atmosphere feels both elegant and comfortable. Their breakfast is phenomenal, offering great variety and quality. The location is also convenient — not far from the international airport, which makes travel easy

Staff were friendly esp the really lovely man out front who ordered taxis for us. He is a legend and should probably be made Prime Minister of all India. The problem is that whoever says the location is good on here is maybe drunk or something because it is way way way out of Kolkata proper. That means you cannot get anywhere without a taxi. Couple of other niggles are that the air conditoning in room is quite minor (the rooms are still quite hot) and the breakfast is not very good. Great pool though. Honestly my two stars are mainly just for the location. I guess if you drive it wouldn't be an issue. Maybe worth staying at anyway to meet awesome polite guy who orders taxis out front. He's the coolest dude in Kolkata.

This place is very conveniently located and the staff is extremely nice. If you’re visiting Kolkata and looking for a comfortable, sound-proof, well kept and modern hotel (without making a dent in your wallet) I strongly recommend this place.

We were a family of 4, and booked 2 rooms for 7 nights. The rooms were spacious, had a view of a park with a big lake in front, breakfast had very good options, even we asked for items which were not in the list - but they did not hesitate to bake and deliver. Staff are very cordial and helpful. The main course Indian meals were spicy, but as we asked they did reduce the spices.

The check-in process was frustrating. The hotel’s payment system did not accept international Apple Pay, despite it being widely accepted at the airport and even within the hotel’s own café. This resulted in multiple unnecessary transactions and delays after a long journey. More concerning was the persistent noise disturbance. There were loud birthday parties with DJ music that carried straight through the walls into the room. I was unwell during the stay and had to make repeated calls to the front desk to address the issue. While the duty manager was responsive, the matter was never meaningfully resolved, and there was no follow-up from senior management despite a request to escalate to the General Manager. This lack of ownership and guest care stands in stark contrast to industry standard for five star properties. I will consider giving this property one more chance, but this experience has certainly impacted my perception of the Hyatt brand as a loyal customer.
