The 29 London

The booking should have advised that there was no lift at the hotel. It was 80 steps to the 4th floor where my room was, with the final staircase turning 180 degrees with small triangular steps and no hand rail on part of the staircase (where it was about 2ft wide at 1 point). I managed to save myself from falling...just...as I had my suitcase in 1 hand, no handrail to hold onto and couldn't put my suitcase to my side. On the positive side, lovely staff, nice room (just on the 4th floor with no lift) and the room was clean.

About a five minute walk from Victoria Station, which is what we wanted. Great little hotel. Good price and rooms comfortable. Was on 4th floor and no lift, so wouldn't be good for someone with a disability.Nice breakfast tor an extra 7.50. Would stay again.

Convenient small hotel close to the Victoria Bus and train station. Be prepared for stairs as there are no elevators. Staff will help with the bags. Our room, bed bath were clean and comfortable.

Nothing special. The room where luggage is kept is minimal and unlocked. There’s a sign that states we are leaving our items at our own risk

Property is conveniently located for access to transportation options, such as Victoria Station and Victoria Coach Station. The cleaning staff also does a great job. My main criticism of the property is that there is no elevator. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room

The property is located within a 7 minute walk from Victoria Station in a quiet neighborhood. We initially arrived approximately 1.5 hours prior to the check-in time to see if we could possibly get a room earlier. Unfortunately we were unable to and were advised to come back at 3 pm. In the mean time the hotel offered to store our baggage. We were instructed to walk our bags into a side storage area and leave our bags there. It was quiet concerning as the storage area was unlocked and we were not given any claim checks. The staff at the front counter were not rude, but also not kind or helpful. *** There are no elevators in this hotel *** Upon entering our room, we found it to be quite small for two people. As we were staying only one night this was not an issue for us, however if we intended on staying longer I could see this being a concern. The bed had some hair on it as well as a stain on one of the pillow cases. The biggest issue for us was the bathroom. Not only was the shower extremely small, the toilet was almost unusable due to the location. The front of the toilet was not more than 2 feet away from the wall. In order to use it, we would have to sit on it at a 90 degree angle. I could not fit my legs between the wall and the toilet. Overall I would not come back to this hotel based on our experience.

This hotel was not very clean… the building is old but the inside was in poor condition. Overall it just felt dirty. The staff was nice but the luggage storage did not feel safe at all. The luggage room is not locked and anyone could just walk in and have access to it. The only good thing about this place is the location!

The staff was really kind and helpful. The room was cozy with a wonderful shower! The breakfast was 10$ but was really limited and after we saw it we wished we had just walked to a bakery. Other than that is was great. Beware- steep stairs so request a ground or first floor if you can’t climb them.

This hotel was ok for 1 night but extremely noisy. The floor boards creak and the walls are very thin to the point you can here the people in the next room talking. Also if you are into your health and safety this hotel is very poor. Fire doors were held open with fire extinguishers and also laundry.

The staff were brilliant and very friendly. I felt safe. Breakfast was decent. Some of the carpets on the stairs were in poor condition. Fire doors were wedged open with fire extinguishers which is not legal.

Generally comfortable and clean, however the room was in poor condition. The carpet was wet near the bathroom - a stain that I think someone had tried to remove before my arrival. The paint on one wall was bubbling and pealing off and a cushion was threadbare and ripped.

Wish we would’ve done more research on this property before booking. There is no elevator which made it difficult to carry lots of heavy luggage up multiple flights of stairs to our room. The walls in the room had stains from something dark running down them, walls covered in makeup, literal boogers, and the bathroom shower had mold all over it. The complimentary shampoo had mold all in the pump. Black mold on the bathroom door and walls. Mascara and makeup on the sheets and comforter. Holes in the walls. Check-in time is 1:30 PM. We got our room key from the desk around 2:00 PM and walked upstairs with our luggage only to find our room was still being “cleaned”. We waited in the hallways for a while until they were done. You have to ask the front desk to change the temperature in your room, which was set to 88° F. I wouldn’t say it’s close to a tube station. It’s about a 12 minute walk to the Victoria station. One the second night, our room key did not work. I went back downstairs and the doors to the lobby were closed. As I opened it, one worker quickly grabbed a remote to turn something off. They seemed a bit caught off guard that I was in the lobby. There was no TV on the wall they pointed the remote at, only a giant mirror. What were they watching that they so quickly turned off?? Lots of better options out there and overall, we were disappointed. The 29 London is definitely charging too much for what it is worth. We won’t be staying again.

Place was infested with bed bugs

We were able to leave our bags before checking in and after check out so we could explore London while waiting on our flights. The staff was very helpful and kind.

Hotel is in bad shape, floor was not cleaned properly. Bed had bed bugs. You can hear rats running across the floorboards under and above you.

I recently stayed at the 29 Hotel and was extremely disappointed with my experience. Upon arrival, I noticed that the entire building was carpeted, which triggered my asthma due to the dust. The hotel itself is small, with tiny rooms. Despite informing the staff that I was pregnant, we were initially given a room on the first floor, which was not clean, particularly the bed. The next morning, we discovered bed bugs. We immediately reported this to the staff, who moved us to another room on the fourth floor. However, the hotel has no elevator, which caused significant discomfort as I had to frequently use the stairs. The new room was also dirty; we found blood stains on the bed and shoe marks on one of the pillows. When we complained, the staff insisted the room was clean. We decided to leave and requested a refund for the remaining nights of our stay, but they only refunded the nights we hadn't yet stayed. This entire experience was extremely stressful. Although some staff members were kind and offered a complimentary breakfast, and one helpful staff member offered to wash our clothes that had been in the bed bug-infested room, it did not mitigate the overall poor experience. We chose this hotel for its central location in London, expecting easy access to transportation, but it was a 15-minute walk to the nearest bus station. In summary, the few positive aspects, such as the location and some helpful staff, did not compensate for the poor conditions and unpleasant experien

Only stayed one night and was perfect for us. Very nice and clean area of the city. Great breakfast and clean.

Staff tried to be helpful but they didn't know much about the area. There was to sofas in reception , probably the dirties I have seen on my life (we almost walked out once we seen them but we had paid and was verylate to find another hotel at that time. The mattress, towels, walls had stains on them so not happy. The bathroom and shower were renovated sa was nice. The air con was fixed and could not be set on the temperature that you wanted so it was quite cold at times. The place needs a deep clean and renovation. The location is central and accessible to many attractions.

An extremely small room , disappointed with the TV signal as most channels unavailable, the en-suite was very small just sitting in the toilet my knees were against the wall and had to mainly sit at an angle whilst using. Apart from that the staff were welcoming, the buffet breakfast was ok, not happy about no lift though so after a mile walk to the hotel I was put on the 3rd floor, but O got my steps in lol

Room was extremely small. Not recommended for anyone with claustrophobia. Hair dryer plug was coming away from the wall. Worst of all, Wi-Fi did not work in room, which was extremely inconvenient. Front desk staff did not want to put in employee password, which made things difficult.

Small room, very cold. No working wifi or air cond.

overall it was okay, only issue was with the floor, it was creaking when stepping on it.

It was walking distance to the theater, which is the best feature. The room can also accommodate 3 people. The bathroom floor is squeaky and makes noise when someone is using it.

I was staying at this hotel from 5th of January for one night. When I’m arrived (at 12) the woman from reception said I need to pay £10 if you arrive before checkin (13:30). I was with my 9 month old baby, and she said I need to pay! Or just wait till 13:30 with a baby. She doesn’t care what I’m with a baby. Not friendly it all. And also she gave us a room downstairs so not suitable for me carrying my baby. It was in the basement. It’s the first time in London I see this. In another hotel if you with a baby staff always try to help you. You can check in early and they will give you a room in the ground floor. The room was very cold. And it was difficult for me going upstairs with a baby to reception. I never will stay in this hotel again. And I will tell all my international friends not to book this hotel.

Pleasantly surprised for what is a budget option. Safe and quiet, I booked for work purposes as a single female and this was perfect. Rooms are well set up and facilities great (shower was excellent). Staff were really friendly. Really recommend.

The person who checked us in was quite abrupt. Room had a carpet in that had seen better days. Breakfast options minimal for a continental. Ended up going elsewhere for breakfast. Certainly wasn’t worth my hard earned money. Would not recommend to others especially friends with family or health conditions.

Great reception staff. The room was perfect for what I needed (business trip, one night stay in a single room).

Mixed feelings- when I arrived I had to wait about 10 minutes as there was no one at the front desk. My room was on the 4th floor- which was ok but there’s no lift and the stairs are steep/narrow at the top. My room was comfortable, clean enough and the bed is comfy. The bathroom shower was good quality and I have no complaints there. The vending machine downstairs was out of order so I couldn’t use that during my stay. The staff seem to mostly be sat on their phones at the front desk when they are there. Lots of building work in the rooms so it was a little noisey- old building/thin walls. Overall though the location was ideal for my visit and you pay for what you get. I would stay again for the price and location.

It is close to Victoria Coach Station and Victoria Underground train station. Very convenient to go to different places. Staff members are super friendly and one staff went out his way to help me. On the night I was leaving, the handle of my suitcase could not retract. I spent a long time trying to figure out how to fix it. I then asked the front desk person to help me. He spent sometime eventually fixed the problem and it was almost 2:00 am. I really appreciate how we are being treated by the staff there. One drawback is that the wifi in our room did not work well. We have to out to the lobby to use WiFi.

Unfortunately the check-in experience was not good as the receptionist did not seem very engaged with her guests. On several occasions she did not look up when we walked through reception. By contrast the gentleman who was carrying out maintenance was helpful and looking out for the guests. The bedroom aircon was very welcome on such a hot day.

We had a 3 night stay here. The 2nd day we returned to the hotel from a full day of sightseeing at 11 pm. We were informed the toilet in our room had overflowed while we were gone. The bathroom and part of our room was flooded with feces. They moved us to another hotel 4 blocks away for the night. The next morning we requested to stay at that hotel so we wouldn't have to move our luggage again. That was declined and we had to move back to the original hotel but a different room. Therefore in our 3 night stay we stayed in 3 rooms. I understand that things happen but what really angered me about it was when I asked for a refund for at least one night they refused. They only provided 30% off for one evening. For all the trouble we were put through they only gave us 27 pounds.

They charge you to check in early (even 30mins) the booking made it seem like there was a small breakfast included but I was told it would be another £7.50 and the breakfast options I was emailed in advanced was “bagged breakfast with pastry, jams and a piece of fruit” or something like that. If that is £7.50 that is crazy! I was on the top floor and had to go up about 5 flights. In addition when I checked in (at check in time) there was cleaning supplies and laundry bags blocking the stairwell) The room was very small (and I’ve stayed in NYC). Most of these things wouldn’t have bothered me if I had gotten even a smile from the reception desk. But they looked so put off that I was there. I honestly regret not pay a bit more for a real hotel. I thought this was going to be more like the traditional B&B’s spotted all over the UK, but it was just a rundown “hotel” that had rude staff!

There is a good location of '29 Hotel' in Victoria (London). It is near Victoria Coach center, train station and tube (Victoria). It is very convenience for you to go another cities. Although the space of room is limited, there is so clean.

Nice and quaint hotel. It was in a good, safe area and not far from Victoria Station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and spacious. Had all the necessities I needed: toiletries, towels, coffee maker etc.

The stay was very pleasant. The hotel is 6 min walk from the major subway station: Victoria Station. Location is excellent. Very clean. Staff is friendly. Minor thing: the room was very small and did not have a lot of storage options. Management should hang more hooks and shelves. Overall, we enjoyed the stay very much.

For the central location, we found it great value for money, near victoria station, beds are awesome and can accomodate family of four adults. Highly recommended

Very central, basic, priced right, clean and breakfast included. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Be forewarned that the rooms on the 4th floor are essentially up a thin corridor and what some might consider a ladder. Great place to lay your head, but be aware if you have mobility issues.

Stressful before we even got there because of a problem validating our card. Check in was okay.. very matter of fact. The walk to our room was past landings with cutlery, hovers and dirty laundry lying around (some of which was still there the next morning). In the room the paint work was very worn, the lamps and tv which only had 1 channel were wonky. There was a dirty towel hung on the back of the bathroom door and a soaking wet mat on the floor and water only came out half of the shower head.The sockets on the sides of the bed didn’t work properly and the room looked like it could have done with a vacuum. The breakfast was nice, however I was too put off by the massive bluebottle flies hovering around it to enjoy it. The only positive was the bed was clean and comfortable ( even though the divan had a hole in it).
