We loved our visit to the cottage. It is a beautifully decorated restored cottage and the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We enjoyed breakfast on the back deck and walked across the river daily for the shopping and restaurants on front street. Apple picking and antique shopping were within a thirty minute drive. We look forward to our next visit to River Rock Cottage.

My friends and i absolutely loved this place and will be booking again next year. Each room was decorated for Christmas. When we first walked in the beautiful living room tree was lit and Christmas music was playing and it smelled so good. It was truly magical! The kitchen was stocked with thoughtful items and the bathrooms as well in case you forgot anything at home. Peggy does a great job making everyone who stays feel special!!!

Nice old house. Needs better seating in living room. Needs serving bowls in kitchen. Less linens so guests can use the dresser and closet space. Grill needs attention. Walking through anothers bedroom to get to the bathroom, not good when you have 5 adults staying together even when they are your own children. Overall our stay was good and the sights were worth some of the inconveniences.

Myself, husband and 3 friends went to the Blues Festival in Marietta for the weekend. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner went above and beyond by stocking a few little groceries for us. This was an unexpected surprise. The beds were comfy and the pillows nice and plump. We cooked our meals there and they had everything necessary for a kitchen. We would definitely stay there again.

This was a lovely home and taken care of, I felt I had gone to grandma's house! The layout of the two upstairs bedrooms was a bit different as the renovated modern bathroom was connected to one of the bedrooms and to get to the third bedroom you had to walk through the bedroom that has the bathroom. I think it would be great for families but I am not so sure about couples who might like their own private space. The deck was wonderful and we really enjoyed the space. With it being an older home with original wood floors there are some squeaks but it adds to the charm. The neighborhood is a little noise in the morning but it is so close to the Busy Bee restaurant that it was not a big deal. I loved that our host had cookies and snacks and a few items in the fridge for a tasty breakfast! What a treat! The bed in the larger front bedroom was very comfortable. I appreciated all the notes for the house.

Not only was the accommodation comfortable, it also was well supplied with linens and toiletries. To our surprise there was an ample supply of snacks, fresh muffins as well as food and drinks for a wonderful breakfast! We would absolutely stay again.

We enjoyed the historic nature and location of the River Rock Cottage. Peggy is very generous with providing bed linens, towels, snacks and breakfast goodies in her immaculate property. We especially enjoyed the cozy front porch and walking to restaurants in the neighborhood.

Conveniently located for activies, meals, and shopping in Marietta, Ohio. Very warm and welcoming home with a wonderful hostess! Supplied so many of the amenities which went above what we've experienced in other rental homes!! Would highly recommend for a comfortable stay!!

We stayed at the cottage with our adult daughter, adult son and teenage granddaughter for six days. The host family very thoughtfully left eggs, sausage, bread , milk, juice and bottled water in the refrigerator. This is the first time in our many VRBO rentals to occur. Thank you! The description of the property and photos shown is correct. What is not mentioned is the very steep stairs to the bedrooms (there is an hand rail) and the very steep and precarious stairs to the basement to use the washer and dryer. I feel it should be mentioned in the description that this property is not handicap accessible for entrance or for occupancy. The deck and front porch was my favorite places to sit. The house is located near a busy street that is noisy with motorcycles and speeding cars with loud mufflers, however, we had no trouble sleeping. Overall, it was comfortable and convenient to nearby restaurants, bakery, butcher and downtown.

Everything you need for a relaxing stay. The home is super clean and well stocked with amenities. A lot of thought was put into what a traveler might need. The continental breakfast was a very nice touch. We really enjoyed the back deck and grill since most nearby local restaurants are closed on Monday. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband, two sons and I were visiting family over the holidays and decided to stay at this adorable cottage. It was so convenient to great restaurants, Main Street Marietta, and easily accessed from the interstate. Beds were so comfy, and my kids really enjoyed the Christmas decor and snacks provided. Everything was super clean in this historical home too. Thank you for a great stay, Peggy! We’d love to stay here again!

This home was cute and decorated well. Very clean and the property owner was very easy to communicate with. Lots of little extras that the owner choose to have that was greatly appreciated after a long trip into town. Will stay here again! If you stay go to the Harmor Tavern, great food and atmosphere.

The cottage is very charming and a fun place to stay. Everything was there that you could need. The cottage was immaculate and every thing worked. It was very thoughtful of the owner to have snacks and goodies available. I would definitely recommend this cottage to others and we hope to return again. A 5 star rental.

Me and my 5 adult sons came for a Memorial to their dad and my husband. I wanted a home where we could all gather together. This home is very quaint, built in 1935. This home was a great place to retreat for a family of 5. It is near many restaurants and beautiful views. Our host had everything you could need and more. She also has written an amazing children’s book. The host was available and very hospitable. It was a wonderful getaway. We would highly recommend this VRBO.

Me and my 5 adult sons came for a Memorial to their dad and my husband. I wanted a home where we could all gather together. This home is very quaint, built in 1935. It offered us a place not too far from Parkersburg where all the relatives who came stayed. Peggy was easy to communicate with and asked if I needed anything she was just a text away. Peggy

We loved our visit to the cottage. It is a beautifully decorated restored cottage and the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We enjoyed breakfast on the back deck and walked across the river daily for the shopping and restaurants on front street. Apple picking and antique shopping were within a thirty minute drive. We look forward to our next visit to River Rock Cottage.

I can't say enough about the hostess. Everything we brought was already there. I had to call her several times for different things, and she was just as gracious as could be. So helpful. The house was always very lovely, and it felt like home. Better than any hotel any day.

My husband, two sons and I were visiting family over the holidays and decided to stay at this adorable cottage. It was so convenient to great restaurants, Main Street Marietta, and easily accessed from the interstate. Beds were so comfy, and my kids really enjoyed the Christmas decor and snacks provided. Everything was super clean in this historical home too. Thank you for a great stay, Peggy! We’d love to stay here again!

This was a delightful spot for some quiet time—a little art/meditation retreat on my way to meet friends. Easy access to downtown Marietta. Quaint neighborhood. The hostess provides everything you could need, even some basic groceries! She’s very prompt with replies if you have any questions. Definitely recommend highly.

We were in town for a graduation at Marietta University. The house was convenient lots of restaurants around to walk to. Showers were good beds were comfy. Everything was very clean. Host was gracious to provide lots of goodies for food.

The home is very nice and clean. There were so many thoughtful amenities that added a nice touch. We were able to walk everywhere, which was nice. If we couldn't walk, things were just a short drive away.

We enjoyed the historic nature and location of the River Rock Cottage. Peggy is very generous with providing bed linens, towels, snacks and breakfast goodies in her immaculate property. We especially enjoyed the cozy front porch and walking to restaurants in the neighborhood.

Conveniently located for activies, meals, and shopping in Marietta, Ohio. Very warm and welcoming home with a wonderful hostess! Supplied so many of the amenities which went above what we've experienced in other rental homes!! Would highly recommend for a comfortable stay!!

We stayed at the cottage with our adult daughter, adult son and teenage granddaughter for six days. The host family very thoughtfully left eggs, sausage, bread , milk, juice and bottled water in the refrigerator. This is the first time in our many VRBO rentals to occur. Thank you! The description of the property and photos shown is correct. What is not mentioned is the very steep stairs to the bedrooms (there is an hand rail) and the very steep and precarious stairs to the basement to use the washer and dryer. I feel it should be mentioned in the description that this property is not handicap accessible for entrance or for occupancy. The deck and front porch was my favorite places to sit. The house is located near a busy street that is noisy with motorcycles and speeding cars with loud mufflers, however, we had no trouble sleeping. Overall, it was comfortable and convenient to nearby restaurants, bakery, butcher and downtown.

Myself, husband and 3 friends went to the Blues Festival in Marietta for the weekend. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner went above and beyond by stocking a few little groceries for us. This was an unexpected surprise. The beds were comfy and the pillows nice and plump. We cooked our meals there and they had everything necessary for a kitchen. We would definitely stay there again.

This was a lovely home and taken care of, I felt I had gone to grandma's house! The layout of the two upstairs bedrooms was a bit different as the renovated modern bathroom was connected to one of the bedrooms and to get to the third bedroom you had to walk through the bedroom that has the bathroom. I think it would be great for families but I am not so sure about couples who might like their own private space. The deck was wonderful and we really enjoyed the space. With it being an older home with original wood floors there are some squeaks but it adds to the charm. The neighborhood is a little noise in the morning but it is so close to the Busy Bee restaurant that it was not a big deal. I loved that our host had cookies and snacks and a few items in the fridge for a tasty breakfast! What a treat! The bed in the larger front bedroom was very comfortable. I appreciated all the notes for the house.

The cottage is very charming and a fun place to stay. Everything was there that you could need. The cottage was immaculate and every thing worked. It was very thoughtful of the owner to have snacks and goodies available. I would definitely recommend this cottage to others and we hope to return again. A 5 star rental.

Not only was the accommodation comfortable, it also was well supplied with linens and toiletries. To our surprise there was an ample supply of snacks, fresh muffins as well as food and drinks for a wonderful breakfast! We would absolutely stay again.

Everything you need for a relaxing stay. The home is super clean and well stocked with amenities. A lot of thought was put into what a traveler might need. The continental breakfast was a very nice touch. We really enjoyed the back deck and grill since most nearby local restaurants are closed on Monday. We would definitely stay here again!

I was taking back by the area the house was located.There were a few good homes, along with houses that looked non livable. Parking was on the street. As seniors, I could not take my suitcases upstairs, stairs were too narrow and many for me. This is a very old home that does have character. The host did stock the refrigerator with breakfast items and other items in the pantry that your own pantry would have in it. We were very Thankful for that. With all that said, we did enjoy this home even with all the hiccups!

We especially enjoyed being able to walk to the restaurants--Harmar Tavern right across the street; The Busy Bee for breakfast one morning right around the corner; and Boathouse BBQ, less than a 10 min. walk by the river. Otherwise, we enjoyed eating, breakfast especially, in the house with some of the food provided. Thanks for a very comfortable stay.

This home is Wonderful. Beautifully decorated and very clean. Peggy has thought of everything for her guests. It was so thoughtful to have continental breakfast items and snacks for us so we didn’t have to go to the grocery store right away. We loved walking around all the shops close by and the sternwheeler cruise was lots of fun, too. Lots of fun things to do and see. We had a great time and will love to say again.
