The staff at reception did not give a good welcoming reception. When entering the King room it looked very inviting, both clean, modern and spacious. Bathroom great. Although it looked clean, we noticed the bedding was stained/dirty. The motel advertised a dinning room, but apparently had not been open for a long time. A kettle, large plate, 3 knifes, 1 teaspoon, 2 cups and 4 glasses were all that was supplied - no toaster???

Never in my life have I stayed in accommodation as filthy as this place! The shower was filthy with thick white smears all over the glass and mold along the tracks and in the drain. There was long black hair all through the bathroom and there was fecal matter on the wall next to the toilet. We didn’t notice this until we returned after midnight from the even we were attending with the hopes of having a shower before bed but after seeing the state of the bathroom I couldn’t bring myself to use it. We had housekeeping knock on the door at 9am when we were checking out at 10am. The bedside lamps didn’t work above either bed, there was no toilet brush nor any washing up liquid to wash out mugs before we could use them again which begs the question how many people use them and just rinse and dry them and put them back in the cupboard? When I checked out and spoke to ‘the manager’ he refused to acknowledge there was a problem with the room even after we went back with him and showed him. His attitude was disgusting! Don’t book here, spend your money at a place where they actually care about your stay and aren’t going to be shut down by the health department in the near future!

Very difficult to get a park near room 25 as there is nowhere to park. It was pouring rain. Hotel is not the same since new owners have taken over. Not the nice friendly service that you used to get with previous owners. Nothing kept in the mini bar now and cleaning not up to scratch.

Nice, clean room. However, aircon needs maintenance as it made a buzzing noise in the middle of the night for 10-15 seconds, then stops and made a noise again. It kept us awake till the morning. Apart from that, comfortable room.

Initial room allocation was not what appeared in the advertising. There are newer rooms which are used in advertising images which are very nice, but our room was very dated. Very poor appearance of bathroom basin, and some lights did not work. When we mentioned these matters we were upgraded to a room that we would always be happy with.

The room matched the pictures and was lovely. The Smart TV's in the main bedroom and second bedroom where of great use and very much appreciated. The shower was pretty lackluster and changed temperature on it's own frequently, and had very little pressure. Didn't talk to the concierge much because he wasn't all that friendly or welcoming when we arrived. Didn't bother going across to the restaurant due to this initial interaction, so can't comment on the food. It should be noted there is no pool onsite, despite conflicting reports online. Overall a nice play to stay on the way to somewhere else, but I wouldn't consider this your ultimate destination or home base for a long stay.

Large room, quite noisy being on the Highway. Could hear people in the next room plugging in to power points and the TV. Bed was a bit lumpy but reasonable comfy. The rooms could do with an update but quite comfortable. Shower had good pressure.

I feel compelled to share my recent experience with the Presidential Motel in Mt Gambier. As a client, I had the unfortunate opportunity to witness firsthand the complete lack of professionalism and customer care exhibited by this establishment. I had eagerly anticipated a trip to Mt Gambier, accompanied by my support worker, arranged by my disability service provider. To secure suitable accommodations, they diligently searched for a suitable place and made a reservation through Wotif, specifically selecting the Presidential Motel. However, upon arrival at the motel, it became evident that our booking was riddled with errors. The dates mentioned in the confirmation email differed drastically from the ones we had requested. Despite our support worker's numerous attempts to rectify the situation, the motel staff showed no willingness to acknowledge their mistake or provide a satisfactory solution. Their no-refund policy was strictly enforced, even though it was clear that the erroneous booking was a direct result of their system's inaccuracies despite having a month to fill the booking.

The Presidential looked like part of the industrial complex from the outside, but our room had been extremely tastefully renovated inside. It was very spacious, super clean, comfortable and had everything our family of 2 adults and 2 kids (4&7) required for a good night’s rest en route from Castlemaine to Robe. Convenient for dinner options and a high-street coffee in the morning by the central sunken garden. Would stay again.

Large room, quite noisy being on the Highway. Could hear people in the next room plugging in to power points and the TV. Bed was a bit lumpy but reasonable comfy. The rooms could do with an update but quite comfortable. Shower had good pressure.

We were travelling for work with a young baby and the staff were considerate and moved us to a room that was further away from the road without us asking. They also didn't hesitate to help when we realised we'd forgot toothpaste and happily accommodated us. The meals offered in the restaurant were also fantastic! They were much better than I expected for a motel restaurant and very good value for money. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Mt Gambier! Highly recommend

Overall clean but the property has changed owners , they should update website as they advertise Bar and Restaurant, they were all shut down , i went there from Melbourne for our 25th wedding anniversary, disappointed there was no Bar , i could have stayed at the Henty , so that was a bit disappointing, there was no explanation from the owners when i asked why

Room was nicely appointed and spacious. Bedding was comfortable for a great night sleep. Disappointed I had to drive into town for food as restaurant is closed and shower head was split on top hosing down the whole bathroom when I has a shower

Our room at the Presidential was far beyond our expectations. The room was spacious and very clean, the bed was comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It is next door to one of the best deli's, butcher, laundromat, hair dresser and Chemist King. Just past this is the Western Tavern. We would stay here again if wanting a bed for the night in Mt Gambier.

Good support from the reception staff in getting the rooms reallocated to suit my requirement. Could able to do that with ease.

I stayed for three nights in room 46. It was extremely disappointing. The room looked shabby and badly needed an update. The weather was cold and wet but there were no spare blankets available in the cupboards. No washing up liquid was provided for guests to wash their dishes. No side plates available. The bathroom was very poorly maintained. Both the the bath and the washbasin were badly stained and cracked and looked dirty. The wash basin in particular needs replacing. The towels did not look clean. My biggest complaint is that I was charged almost $800 for this. I assume the high price was because of the Generations in Jazz weekend in Mt. Gambier as I have just looked up the offer now and it is HALF that price for a three night stay. Because of the extremely poor facilities and the greatly overpriced charge I feel entitled to a refund. I will not recommend this to anyone and will not stay there again.
