Lovely and helpful staff. The restaurant area / whiskey bar is very impressive, especially for a medium sized hotel such as this. However, there were several problems with the facilities. The jacuzzi bath in our Maple suite was broken (no jacuzzi). The knob on the shower was broken (it came off in my hand). That really should be fixed. We ate a couple of times in the room but there was no dishwashing soap or dishcloth to dry the dishes. There was no extra linen for the (uncomfortable) sofa bed. I had to ask for this. The male changing / shower room next to the (tiny) gym was locked (card did not open this) and the women's changing / shower room was in an awful state. There is one elevator to the higher floors and it is frightfully slow. The air-conditioning / heating unit in our suite was very noisy and so I had to turn it off to sleep -- and then woke up in a sweat. The front facing hotel rooms would have previously had a lovely view. However, two condominium buildings are currently being built just next to the hotel which block a large part of that view. We were on the fourth floor and had a partial view. Anyone on the second or third floors would not have had any view. That is a great shame. I suspect that rooms facing to the back of the hotel had no view at all either (their is a cliff / hill behind the hotel and another condominium on top of this). But at least the rooms on that side of the hotel would have been spared the construction noise that we suffered.
