booked George Oxford hotel by accident instead of the George street hotel and they are meters apart from each other. the George Oxford hotel phoned me 10 mins before check in to say my room isn't ready but as it was raining I thought I would head there and wait. reception barley had room for 2 people to stand then had to walk up another six flights of stairs to get to my room. tiny shower in room if you turned you knocked tap from hot to cold and a sink with no plug. only plus side really was central location.

Very very functional. No lift with multiple flights of stairs. Dingy common areas. In the room the bedding was clean and crisp however there was nothing else positive to stay about. Not our hair on the bathroom floor, no chair in the room and the room was very small. Very expensive for what you get.

Entrance lets it down, run down and smelt of sewage. Room was small and in need of updating not like the photo's, bed was ok and clean but the area was very noisy till after 3am, had to keep the windows closed which made the room hot as no AC.

Man on reception was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. There are 2 flights if stairs up to the Reception and rooms, but they are ckean, quiet and comfortable fir an overnight stay. Well located for accessing the centre of Oxford, lots of places to eat nearby, and served by buses which stip rught iutsude the entrance.

Central no fuss property. Easy check in and check out, held bags until could check in. Bed comfy, bathroom clean. Rooms are dated and could do with a paint and refurbish. Not worth the money per night but average for Oxford central. Served the purpose for one night stay

Central location which was great! Entrance hall and stairwell dingy. Bedroom small but clean and comfortable. Huge price (£203) for small double, but I guess this is Oxford prices. No breakfast room.

Uncomfortable beds, expensive hotel, not worth the money. Convenient central located. No lift no toilet paper , relatively noisy, antique heating system. We skipped our staying just because of the poor sleeping It’s ok for 1 night if you are desperate, book it late in the day as it might drop in price. Too pricey for what you get Bathroom decent size.

Uncomfortable beds, expensive hotel, not worth the money. Convenient central located. No lift no toilet paper , relatively noisy, antique heating system. We skipped our staying just because of the poor sleeping It’s ok for 1 night if you are desperate, book it late in the day as it might drop in price. Too pricey for what you get Bathroom decent size.

After the mixup of the fact there are two George Hotels almost side by side, my actual stay was exactly what I needed. Clean & warm room, working TV, tidy bathroom (although not really suitable if you\'ve "gained weight" as getting in the shower was a bit tight!!), comfortable bed... At the end of the day that\'s all you really need from a hotel room! A space to sleep Brilliant price for its location too! Only down side is that there are no lifts...but at least I added to my step count!

Room was clean and spacious for one person. Tea and coffee area was well stocked. En suite was clean, the water was warm and the shower was powerful enough. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great, almost right opposite the New Oxford Theatre and only a few minutes walk from a Greene King and Wetherspoons. The only downsides were work men outside my window, two days in a row and the fire alarm going off at all hours. Other than that, no complaints

The position it was in was Brilliant. Easy to walk to the museums etc....Plenty of eateries and pubs to get to . so very clean .we had all that we required . The staff were very helpful .

The place was clean and the staff was friendly. It conveniently located; bus right outside the door. The train is walking distance and also to the coach tube buses. The bathroom was small, howver thats throughout England. You may have trouble pending over if you are taller than 5\'9, maybe even smaller like 5\'2".

The bed was decent, but the place is really dated. The ceiling light in the bathroom had water inside, which is not safe. You could not open the closet since the door faced the night table, and the TV was no bigger than an A4 paper. In the morning (6;30AM), there was no one to return the keys to. On the plus side, it's on a busy street with restaurants and pubs around. It was clean, so if you're looking for a bed and a cheap night, it's okay, I suppose. However, for the price, I would have expected a bit more.

While this place is well located, the rooms look nothing like the pictures. The room was tiny, with a bed squeezed into the middle. The bathroom was tiny, the shower was broken and too small to stand in properly. All a bit disappointing unfortunately.

A reasonable hotel but don't get a room overlooking George Street. Needs more than double glazing given the excessive noise of young people outside. I was kept awake 2 nights in a row till 2am!

I only stayed over night but it was a convenient stay. Easy to get back to the train station and where the places I wanted to visit. Not too bothered by the street noise considering the season. Staff helped with luggage that I was carrying and check out was easy.

Location is as good as it gets. Oxford center is extremely walkable. Property is old but clean.

Stayed here for one night and found the hotel to be excellent value. Rooms are basic but very clean. Check in was very quick and staff are friendly. Location is superb

A reasonable hotel but don't get a room overlooking George Street. Needs more than double glazing given the excessive noise of young people outside. I was kept awake 2 nights in a row till 2am!

Room was clean and spacious for one person. Tea and coffee area was well stocked. En suite was clean, the water was warm and the shower was powerful enough. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great, almost right opposite the New Oxford Theatre and only a few minutes walk from a Greene King and Wetherspoons. The only downsides were work men outside my window, two days in a row and the fire alarm going off at all hours. Other than that, no complaints

We chose the George as it was the cheapest most central hotel in Oxford. Couldn’t fault it. We were very comfortable. Lots of bars and restaurants in the street and many more in the streets nearby. Including the Christmas market.

The position it was in was Brilliant. Easy to walk to the museums etc....Plenty of eateries and pubs to get to . so very clean .we had all that we required . The staff were very helpful .

Man on reception was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. There are 2 flights if stairs up to the Reception and rooms, but they are ckean, quiet and comfortable fir an overnight stay. Well located for accessing the centre of Oxford, lots of places to eat nearby, and served by buses which stip rught iutsude the entrance.

Central location which was great! Entrance hall and stairwell dingy. Bedroom small but clean and comfortable. Huge price (£203) for small double, but I guess this is Oxford prices. No breakfast room.

The rooms were full of bed bugs. I complained I was moved into another room full of bugs twice that of the first room. A bitter snd terrible experience. I have never seen bed bugs in my life time. Heard of them, finally met them in George Oxford. A very terrible hotel

Hotel was ok but not amazing, it was definitely in a central and convenient location. The hotel itself was very dated and in need of a refresh. When things like the bedding and towels were clean, there was mould on the side of the bedside drawers, and the hand soap dispenser in the bathroom was broken and leaked all over the floor.

It was perfectly adequate for our 2 nights in Oxford. Convenient location, but no AC and the entryway needs work... smells not so nice and old mattress in there. Very nice people, let us leave our luggage until we checked in. Mattresses need replacing, could feel the springs, but again, perfectly adequate.

Upon arrival and viewing our rooms; we actually chose to forfeit our prepaid booking and paid a much higher rate for last minute booking at another hotel. No air conditioning, no elevator and one of our rooms was on the 4th floor (difficult with luggage), the smell was stale and the rooms were in bad shape.

Wonderful price and location. Very clean and basic set-up though kettle and tea/coffee provided. The main negative was that the room was a sauna as there was no air conditioning. They had kindly provided a fan but during the UK heatwave this was insufficient. Having said that, if the temperature was normal I think we'd have had a very comfortable stay. Staff were lovely and super location.
