Ramada Oxford

Stayed at this hotel many times but now they charge guests for parking …. It’s the principle

Room very comfortable but stairs and passage ways dirty. Food left on floors, carpets need cleaning or replacing. Coolers in bar not working so no cold drinks available and beer pumps not working. Was advised that Waitrose was next door to get drinks and the hotel would provide glasses

Good location and room fine. Wi-Fi didn’t work in the room all the trip and fitness room was not open.

My recent two-night stay at this was a rather bumpy ride, to say the least. While the hotel is advertised as "renovated," my initial experience suggested otherwise. The first room I was allocated felt like stepping back into the 80s, with dated decor and a general lack of freshness. Furthermore, the hotel appeared to be overrun with young children and various animals, whose lack of supervision by their parents or owners made for a rather noisy and disruptive atmosphere. Following a complaint about the initial room, I was moved to a room at the back of the building on the first floor. Unfortunately, this room presented its own set of issues. The lock on the door was faulty and did not engage, necessitating another trip back down to reception to be allocated a third room. Navigating the hotel was also less than ideal. There is no lift, and the only access to the upper floors is via a narrow staircase adorned with rather oppressive dark wood and a dark red carpet, creating a somewhat gloomy impression. Thankfully, the third room proved to be an improvement. During my two-day stay, I placed the "please clean my room" sign on the door. However, upon returning in the evening, I found that while the towels in the bathroom had been changed, the bed had not been made. On the positive side, the air conditioning in the final room was effective, and the room itself was clean.

The hotel in itself is alright. On the website, it did mentioned that parking was included with the property, but when we went to the reception, we were asked to pay a parking fee of £5 for the night, which sucks.

Have stayed here many times before, bit now charging £5 for Parking unless you book on Welcome Break app !!!

Always welcoming, however there is now a £5 parking fee which I wasn’t made aware of until after I’d booked it. Previous visits had been free as it’s on a service station. Other than that it’s always clean and the rooms and corridors are reasonably sound proofed

No ice at the bar

Ideal location if you do not want to head into Oxford for an evening meal. Its a trek & expensive to park. Ideal if you just want a bed for the night & and a Pizza or KFC. The hotels small cafe is also expensive, but convinient.

Very accommodating. Placed me in a ground floor room due to not being able to carry my luggage up the stairs. Gym was sufficient to have a work out.

Given the wrong room on check in, when got to the correct room is absolutely stank of mould. Carpets dirty. Mould around window. Very tired room. Air vent going all night very loud. Every time anyone walked down the corridor the floor bounced. Woke up in the morning to ants in the room. Staff lovely, other than that you get what you pay for.

The communal areas smelt terrible. The room and bathroom didn’t feel clean and the bathroom tiles were chipped. It was a place to get our head down.

We arrived to a dirty room that smelt of damp. We spoke to management on the front desk and they apologised and took us to another room which was just as dirty. Carpet clearly hadnt been vaccumed. Toilet had stains and dirt on the bedding. They promised me a refund which i am yet to see still!

The hotel is not the best. The hallway didn't smell very nice and not the cleanest. The room was poorm bed and pillows uncomfortable. Shower was terrible. Glad we only stayed 1 night. The breakfast was very poor as well. Tried to mention on checkout but they didn't seem interested. As I say it was only for 1 night

Extremely poor condition hotel, dirty linen, old dirty stained carpets and walls. Even the showers barely worked. Very disappointing for Ramada brand. Completely unacceptable. Suggest drive past it and save yourself the experience and find a comparatively luxurious Travelodge!

Excellent staff, very clean and comfortable.

Do not stay at this hotel. It looks like it needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. Upon entering the foyer the horrible damp smell hits you in the face, it looked like a building site. Dirty carpets all ripped. Muddy footprints everywhere. My room had wee stains on the toilet seat. Bathroom smelt worse than the foyer. The last persons spilt drinks all over the bedside cabinet and down the bed. The pillows had unsightly stains over them. The hotel is filthy. Do not waste your money and stay here.

Awful stay with my mother and daughter. The room was terrible, beds were dirty, and the room and hotel in general had a very "unclean" smell. We arrived so late in the evening we couldn't change hotels otherwise we would have done. Bin bags of rubbish all over the hallways. The downstairs lobby was littlered with prams, child seats and scooters. It was clear to see there are long term residents here which has clearly been detrimental to the service this hotel can offer. I'd recommend staying elsewhere.

This hotel is very basic you would get better rooms at travelodge and the rooms could do with a refurbish. The executive rooms are also very sparse and basic

Uncomfortable beds and pillows.

I've stayed at Ramada many times on work trips to Oxford. I advise choosing a room on the upper floor because on the ground floor you may hear stomping around late at night in the room overhead. There are also humming machines in a courtyard outside the ground floor windows - maybe that's the air heating system. In the room itself there's everything you need: clean shower room, white towels, free wifi, bedside lights, plug sockets, kettle with cups and tea bags etc. The bad reviews seem to come from people who expect a hotel. In fact it's a motel close to the M40 motorway and on the site of the Welcome Break services. I like its convenience, parking at £5 per night and lack of fuss.

The wifi system has recently changed and it is very poor, unreliable especially after 10pm

We booked for a room with two beds (1 double and 1 single) as we were 3 people. We were given a room with only 1 bed. When we complained about it, only then they have changed it. We should have received the right room from the beginning what we have booked for. Secondly the room was noisy since all fans of the service centre was next to the room. It was a worm evening/night, and we could not close the window as there was no air conditioner in the room.

Check in was quick and easy. The room was looking a little tired and in need of a refurb . My room was not serviced even though I put the make up my room hanger on the door.

The room got too hot at night to sleep and too noisy if the fan was left on. The spring mattress wasn't comfortable for me

All the horrors of the film the Shining but without the grandeur of that hotel in the movie. We booked a 4 person (family room) and 4 beds is what we got. But they had put these beds in a 2 persons standard room. So it was absolutly crapped and packed with no space for anything else. One of the beds was a sleeping sofa with a uncomfartable matrass.Our view was on a big LED billboard just 10 metres form our window that flickered all night long through the curtains. We had a terrible noise from 10 electricity generators of the welcomebreak facilty next doors that were placed below our window. We had to let the window open as there is no airconditioning in the room and it was stuffy and very warm. Terrible night out of a horror movie. Very friendly staff that moved us to another room the next day. But it was too late and the room was as little as the previous one. Less noise from outside though. Can't recommend this!

Having stayed at this hotel for a second time, its primary draw remains its undeniably convenient location, particularly as part of a service stop. This makes it a practical choice for those on the move. Unfortunately, the overall state of the rooms continues to be a significant letdown. My first stay revealed rooms that were noticeably tired and in need of updating. Thankfully, on this occasion, I was moved to a room that had clearly undergone some modernisation, which was a welcome improvement. However, it's important to note that the standard of rooms appears to be inconsistent, and the lack of a lift could pose a challenge for some guests. On-site parking is available, which is a plus, but be warned that the car park is often busy, and the spaces are surprisingly small, even for a mid-sized modern vehicle. Furthermore, being situated within a service stop means that the adjacent food options come with typical motorway service prices, and there are no alternative dining choices within easy walking distance. The contents of the rooms also seem to vary. While my previous stay included an iron and ironing board, this time the ironing board was absent. The shower flow was also rather weak on both occasions. This time, the shower cubicle had a shower curtain, suggesting the glass door may have been out of order for some time, although it was still perfectly functional. The staff were lovely, the hotel was clean and tidy, very nice indeed, considering its in a service station on the motorway.

Stayed for 2 nights for our daughters wedding in Thame. Speedy check in? Don't waste your time, despite completing the form prior to arrival, had to go through the whole process again at the check in desk. First evening, discovered the shampoo container empty when wanting a shower, when we informed reception was told housekeeping would replenish, they couldnt be bothered to supply us with some. Housekeeping didnt replenish and also didnt make up the room, replenish tea/coffee, change towels or clean. Dissapointing especially as our daughter and other family stayed in the Travelodge in Thame and had an excellent service. (No room left for us)

The booking included FREE BREAKFAST in the Expedia description. The hotel refused to provide breakfast as it wasn't noted as paid for or included. Poor service all round.

The first room we were given smelt awful. They changed it, but there was no apology. The front desk clerk had zero customer service skills. He wasn't rude, he just didn't seem to care

Property was fine for an overnight stay, however was shocked to be asked by staff to pay for our children’s breakfast again when we’d already paid for our stay to include it for all our party and had the confirmation to prove it! The lady on reception tried to say sorry that we need to pay again and to take it up with Expedia as they know about their changes to breakfast rules! I told them no, I was not paying again and showed them confirmation clearly saying breakfast was paid for and included. She was quite persistent wanting me to pay again, I refused after showing them my confirmation again and walked out!

Really good bus service from hotel into Oxford City Centre

Conveniently located off the motorway. Bus stop nearby to go into Oxford without having to move your car.

Great hotel, very quiet, clean, spacious, and the location is great.

Surprising good hotel. It’s not luxury but for the price, it’s convenient and comfortable. Upstairs rooms are modern and clean. Avoid downstairs rooms if you don’t have a pet as these are used for people with dogs. Good for visiting Oxford and short drive to Thornhill park and ride.

Convenient location on M40 45 mins from Heathrow airport.

Handy for park and ride into Oxford.

Good cheap choise. Near a shopping, restaurants and groceries, but a litle far from oxford university. We need catch bus, 40 min. at Oxford university

Close to everything you need. Easy access to main roads. Safe and quiet.

The Ramada is quite basic but nice rooms, and good value for money. The staff were friendly and efficient. It is sited in the Oxford Services so you have ample facilities nearby and a pizza express next door. The hotel does meals but we didn't eat there. There are regular buses at the stop just outside the services into Oxford if you need to go into town.

I recently stayed here for a night and regret not staying somewhere else. The room was freezing and the hotel noisy. There's zero sound insulation so I was woken in the night by someone in the room above going for a wee. In the morning I was woken by the same thing by the person in the room next to me. I'd paid for breakfast and regret that. As someone who doesn't like a full English often there was very limited options aside from that - cereal and stale pastries. I'd have been better off going to Starbucks or service station. This place is cheap for a reason. Do not let the brand name deceive you

Room was good and nice and clean. I was a bit worried about traffic noise as this hotel is actually at the services but it was fine. The breakfast was also very good with lots of choice

Staff were extremely helpful. Only thing good about breakfast was gluten-free bread. No orange juice, just an orange drink.

Waited 25mins for food, steak and ale pie only to find it luke warn droppped rhe gravey in to warm it up. Didnt want tomwait any longer for food or have the heart to tell the stadf how bad it was... Wont.be staying at the Ramada again that for sure....

The room was very clean and had all we needed. However, we would have scored higher but for the restaurant. On probably what was the busiest weekend of the year the restaurant had run out of over 50% of the menu and also the draft pumps were either not working or run out. We ordered a mix chicken platter but only chicken wings came as they did not have any other type of chicken. Amazingly they had no pizza, mayonnaise or even salad. Someone slipped up badly on the ordering front.

Would highly recommend this accommodation. Room very clean and spacious. Great amenities. Staff very good. Buffet breakfast was great value with great choices.

I stayed 2 nights to be near to Oxford Hospital where my husband is a patient. It is an ideal location for the hospitals. The room was clean . The facilities at the services are good with a variety of eateries and a small Waitrose. The breakfast at the Ramada was great for £10.99. I’d stay again

The hotel was well situated and the check in process easy although it was obvious they were understaffed. We paid the extra £16 per head for breakfast which was really disappointing - awful selection of cereals, soggy cold ham and wimpy looking cheese, - no fruit (they brought out tinned fruit when I complained) - no brown sauce and what was out was greasy and had been standing for ages - I would deffo save your money and take it to spend in the service station instead which has a great selection - they advertise this as a "great breakfast" but don't be fooled!!!!!! Avoid paying extra for brekfast at all costs
