Great hotel we have frequented this place. Our room upgrade was excellent. It’s a little disappointing that Tayim Restaurant is no longer doing breakfast and the live entertainment in the lane way has ceased. Hopefully they reinstate these in the future.

As a converted warehouse, there are obvious constraints with ‘modernising’ a building of this type I.e. no guest lift, odd shape to rooms & tv on a post etc. that said, Harbour Rocks Hotel puts you in the middle of the Rocks area, it is less than 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal, the hotel has an on-site bar, an adjacent restaurant and is quiet and all in all, a pleasant hotel. The staff are lovely and very professional and I would recommend this as a good option for the Circular Quay / area.

Very interesting hotel and location of the hotel. Close to shore walking, dining, sidewalk market (Fr -Su), ferry terminal. Pleasant and helpfull staff. No elevator, but staff helps with luggage up and down the stairs. We liked it very much.

Staff were only following policies when asked for a swap so they couldn’t help - room was not spotless - phone charging plugs did not work - best thing is location - beds were comfortable - bathroom was sufficient- no lifts but overall decent stay

Lovely old school hotel, set in the heart of The Rocks, fab king studio room, with rooftop views across to the Sydney Opera House. Ten minutes to circular quay and heaps of restaurants to choose from. Tayim restaurant is attached to the hotel and the food and service there is second to none. Eric’s bar to grab a happy hour beverage and sit in the lobby is really convenient. Recommend to anyone wanting to stay in The Rocks.

Spacious room and great view of the Opera House and the bridge. Staff very accommodating especially help with bags as no lift. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is an interesting boutique hotel. A little eclectic in design compared to modern hotels. A bit older, no elevators, and plenty of stairs including to restaurant ( down) and up to all rooms not on base floor. Baggage lift was inoperative, but friendly staff fetched our bags up and down stairs which we had plenty from a month long trip across the globe. Room had standard amenities, small bath and tiny shower. Beds were just OK. Carpet had some old stains, but seemed clean. A small bar area, we were only ones there. Kind Check in clerk took care of bar, so assume it’s not a busy place as there are bars around area that were busy. Restaurant was a nice place, several levels as this building in on a steep hill. The area around had nice shops, restaurants and an amazing weekend market, which we all enjoyed. It is quite close to cruise port, which we desired.

Harbour Rocks was clean and the staff were fantastic. I didn’t give this a 5 because I saw nowhere in the information about this location having NO LIFT. My spouse and I are in our 60s and have bad knees. After having to lug 50+ pounds of luggage up/down three flights of stairs, the charm and location of the place waned. We were grateful we only stayed here one night. I recommend to the hale and hearty, but if you have physical limitations you need to ensure you will be on the first floor at the time of booking. They also have a stellar sandwich shop.

The area that it is in is wonderful and the building is charming but I’d say the hotel needs a little upgrading. Smelled a bit musty to me. I realize it’s expensive to do but to be greeted by a cool room and not a hot musty room would go a long way. The bathroom had mold and dirt in the corners of the shower that could have been cleaner. The air conditioner didn’t work in the first room we were given. Not pleasant on a muggy day Breakfast were good.

The room needs updating. Carpet is old and dirty. Bathroom has mold. Bed is not comfortable. Close to Opera House. They have a shower in case you get there early and the room is not ready. Many restaurants nearby.

A/C unit leaked water on top of our luggage. Spent 2 hours drying our clothes with a hair blower provided by maintenance after the one originally placed in our room was not working. Spent the night with no a/c and room damp. Requested a room change and they said the hotel was fully booked. They placed an ice bucket to collect the water drops all night, no sleep at all with the sound...Checked out early clothes still wet to avoid any other issues.

The location was great but the room was dirty, mould and soap scum in the shower and grout. Chipped paint on walls and skirting boards, Only x1 tea bag for 2 people? No hair dryer And x1 towel per person.

The staff were great and you can't beat the location but our room 305 while on initial walk in looked clean was not. When our bagged was kindly brought up to our room due to two flights of stairs I mentioned to the front desk staff member the state of the bathroom. The shower recess was full of black mould which was evident to the eye. On closer inspection the mould was under the sink shelf and had crept into other knooks. Not nice.When I went to take a shower I turned on the cold tap and it fell onto the bathroom floor so couldn't turn on any cold water. My husband managed to do temporary fix to use. But this is a problem.The Tv did not work and I woke up the next morning feeling not well. Very stuffy, mouldy room. Had to get out to get fresh air. It was unfortunate. I think the carpet needs either a very good deep pressure clean or replacement and the bathroom definitely needs a proper bleach clean. But other than poor room, the hotel reception was lovely, the staff great and wonderful location at the Rocks.

The lobby and restaurant have been done up really nice. The rooms are also nice but the bathrooms are cramped. The sheets were clean but the comforter was dirty/probably should have been replaced.

You’re definitely paying for the location with this hotel; right in The Rocks and less than five minutes from circular quay. Our room was comfortable but somewhat tired. The blinds didn’t fully go up and the bathroom certainly needed some decorative attention albeit the shower was excellent

The room was very small, very uncomfortable and the bathroom was the worst, not functional at all and the shower tiles were dirty w/ mold. I didn't like this hotel at all!!

Great location for Vivid, our room had an opera house view, if you stood at the right angle. The lack of a lift would definitely be an issue for many people and the bathroom in particular was old and needs updating

Location in the Rocks is outstanding. As to be expected for such a location, room was small. Essentials like comfortable bed and lots of power outlets outstanding. But the basics like carpet and tile were worn. We were not shown an elevator and didn’t see one so anything other than ground floor may have accessibility issues. Staff were great!

I loved how close it was to the harbour and surrounding pubs, restaurants, and bars which made it very exciting to explore the surrounding area. The markets also happen over the weekends so I enjoyed the selection of exciting experiences throughout my stay. The hotel itself was lovely and the room was more spacious than I thought which was nice. The staff were friendly and accommodating and overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

It's a lovely hotel in a great area. However, I got virtually no sleep due to loud music playing on a loop from Eric's Bar all night!! The hotel staff apologised and told me that Eric's Bar staff should have turned it off after 12:00 am. I'd suggest Eric's Bar staff need to be strongly reminded of this as they are negatively impacting the hotel's business.

Thd hotel is very well located, a short walk from Circular Quay. Our room was very comfortable and we had a little view of the top of the Opera House. The staff were exceedingly welcoming and efficient. A little problem with the TV was solved by changing rooms. Proper coffee (either a little plunger or a pod machine) would have been very welcome. Instant coffee is mot a substitute for the real thing, particularly in a boutique hotel.

Our stay was excellent from start to finish . Everyone was so friendly , professional and helpful. Absolutely first class hotel Breakfast was amazing , nothing was too much trouble . Would highly recommend staying here .

the location is fabulous for getting around to all the sites. The food was delicious and high quality. Our room faced the court yard and was quite You have to ask for anything extra..like drinking water for the room and they give a $10 food and beverage comp if you dont use room service. but beware you have to ask and make sure you receive it if you want to claim it. Also we ordered a taxi for the airport and was assured the day before as well as an hour before it was supposed to arrive that it indeed was 'on its way'. however after the time had lapsed and we confirmed yet again..apparently it had just been ordered and we ended up taking an uber which was half the price anyways. but very poor service on the part of the hotel...

HRH is a beautiful, wonderful hotel with great staff that made our stay a total joy! Our room was so comfortable, and the Tayim Restaurant food was simply spectacular. Every staff member we encountered was helpful, kind and courteous. We enjoyed our stay so much we will choose Harbour Rocks Hotel whenever we return to Sydney.

Lobby and reception area are lovely, however rooms are sadly needing some TLC. Airconditioning was noisy and just blew warm air, front reception didnt even attempt to investigate, so had to ask for a fan- which was provided, but shouldn’t be required given what they advertise. Bathroom was tiny, and in need of an update, photos are not reflective at all and quite misleading. Dirty stained carpet. When i asked to change rooms i was told they are all the same. Breakfast cost $35 but had to pay extra for a latte. At best rooms are 3star, not what is advertised. Disappointing stay, and photos should be updated to reflect current state of the rooms.

Cute hotel, good location. Couldn't get through for days prior to our booking, called multiple times with no answer and then when someone finally answered they were rude and didn't even apologise. Staff were rude on check out as well.

Great staff, allowed for an early check in. All around one of the easiest stays ever. The room was OK due to the age of the building but location is top shelf. Would go back again and thanks to all the staff especially front desk.

The Harbour Rocks Hotel by Ode is a fabulous Hotel in a great location - in the middle of all that The Rocks has to offer. We stayed in the penthouse - the Sydney Harbour views from the room and the extra large balcony with festoon and fairy lights created the best ambiance. Will definitely be booking again!

The location in “the rocks” area is the selling point for this hotel. You can walk to the ferry and other transportation from the hotel and our favorite little cafe was steps away (the Rocks cafe). The in-hotel cafe was middle eastern so can’t comment if it was good or bad, did not try.

Harbour Rocks Hotel was perfect for us. The location was supreme. It was a 5 minute walk for us to the cruise terminal and it was in the center of all of the restaurants. The property is tastefully decorated. The staff were all very attentive. The manager, Moss, was very hospitable and always made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel we have frequented this place. Our room upgrade was excellent. It’s a little disappointing that Tayim Restaurant is no longer doing breakfast and the live entertainment in the lane way has ceased. Hopefully they reinstate these in the future.

The location is fantastic, the breakfast was excellent (service could be slow but the staff were lovely). The products in the bathroom, shampoo etc. were really good quality. The room was slightly tired but a good size and the bed comfortable. The lack of free wifi was odd in times where you get free wifi practically everywhere.

Staff are very friendly. Love the bar on the balcony. Room is very clean. Lots arounf bars,restaurants and market. Not a far walk to the boats. Good location. Only thing i woukd say was the breakfast. We ordered it to a room took 30 mins whoch im not really fused about the thing i was was the breakfast itself. There was no butter for the toast, avocado wasnt freash, it obviously came from a sqeasy bottle. The sausage was alright . I asked for soft boiled egg i got but no egg cups to put them in...they where hot but rest was cold overal the price you pay which was $32 Is not worth it. But other than that i would stay again

We stayed for 5 nights on a mother-daughter holiday. The staff were exceptional, the breakfasts absolutely amazing, location brilliant. The only tiny thing was that the bathroom grouting was a little tired but everything else made up for it. All in all, we would highly recommend staying there and will go back again another time. Thank you to all the staff.

A very friendly hotel, with an old world feel. We included breakfast in our booking and it was well worth it with a good selection of choices with a Middle Eastern influence. When we arrived the window outside our room was being painted, the staff were very accommodating moving us to another room away from the smell of new paint.

There’s someone at the reception desk at all times. The room was a good size and amenities were refreshed every single day. Breakfast options were generous and varied, service personnel absolutely charming and welcoming. Loved our stay here!

Overall the stay was fantastic. Beautiful building, amazing staff, comfy spacious room, very close to The Rocks markets and restaurants (1,2,3). The hotel restaurant Tayim is a must go for dinner, nice ambiance, great service and beautiful food. Early bookings essential, a popular place (4,5,6). The crepe restaurant is nice for breakfast, also a popular place (7,8).

Hotel is the perfect location to explore Sydney. Lovely old building with character on a quiet street and close to everything. Breakfast was amazing and staff lovely. Bathroom needs updating but it is an old building. There are stairs so could be a problem if you have mobility issues. My daughter and I loved our five day stay and would definitely recommend.

Dank, dark and musty. Mould along walls, mould in carpet, bathroom was mouldy so we didn't shower. I rolled all towels to cover it. Water leaking into the mouldy carpet through bathroom wall into sleeping area and we hadn't even turned on the taps. Tiles black with mould which would be impossible to clean as it was deep and spreading. They advertise a luggage lift and have one man who carries it up several flights of steps like a slave. When we booked they said breakfast was included. When we checked in, breakfast not included. Glad we didn't eat there. Fridge turned right up and everything frozen. Probably by the former disgruntled tenant. Most DISGUSTING motel I've ever been to! Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else because the damage to the room has been there for a LONG time. We spoke to another couple whose room was the same. When I complained she said, sorry about that. We slept in filth that night.

THIS HOTEL SHOULD HAVE MINUS STARS!!!!!! We tried to call the hotel, none of the phone numbers were hooked up. When we arrived and told them about calling, they didn’t care, just the phones were off. No elevator for people, we were on floor 3.5. There was a luggage elevator but it was broken. Walking to our room with the shabby, dirty, stretched out carpet and leaking ceiling (it wasn’t raining). Our room: shower; filthy, 2 towels and a bath mat. Beds were rickety. Counters in room not clean. We told. They dumped a couple towels in our room, but cleaned nothing. We were told that if we did not use maid service we would get &10 a day off our bill. That was a lie, at check out, they said we had to use the $10 each time we went to their restaurant. $10 each time, not $50 for our 5 day stay. The lobby had Walmart-ish old seat covers on the furniture and everything was dusty. Nothing was pleasant about our stay

Lobby looked promising. Once we got into the room the AC barely worked. Room smelled moldy and bathroom dirty with broken tiles. Wish we would have stayed down the street at Pier One Harbour for practically the same price. Won’t be back here
