Staff were absolutely lovely, parking was easy, the building itself is beautiful and the rooms are clean and nice but the bathroom needs some fixes. The shower was fine, but the water pressure of the sink was inconsistent and would randomly go on/off so you got water on you every time you washed your hands. There was lots of big scratches, scrapes and Landlord Specials on the bathroom walls. Nothing that effected functionality but it looked sad and run down. There was also dark spots on the roof.

We stayed at No9 Springfield for four nights. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the rooms are quite small, although beautiful, and the bathroom was particularly cramped, making it uncomfortable. The shower stall was missing a seal along the bottom, so every time we showered, water would spill onto the bathroom floor. I mentioned this on the first day, but it wasn’t addressed during our visit, which was disappointing. The hotel does have a lobby with a small cafe and a patio, which is a nice spot to relax. I felt that this space could be better utilized if guests were allowed to bring their own food and drinks from the grocery store across the street, which would have been more convenient and enjoyable.The hotel is conveniently located near Kings Cross Station, but it’s also in an area that was previously known as a red-light district, which may not be ideal for everyone. Given my experience, I’m not sure I would stay here again if I were to return to Sydney.

Close to all amenities Disappointing that parking was as far away as it was. Raining made it uncomfortable getting to and from the car Despite this, welcome from staff was lovely and warm. Rooms were clean and tidy. Late checkout provided was most helpful.

I wouldn't stay here again. For the positives, the bed linens were very clean and the room didn't smell dirty. You'd get a smelly room and smelly bed in addition to everything below for some budget hotels in the US. The neighborhood around this hotel could be nice and has some interesting buildings, but it's absolutely filthy which makes you feel like you're staying in a sketchy area, which combined w the hotel doesn't make you want to come back at night after a day of exploring. The bathroom has mold and grime on the tile&baseboards. When you're sitting on the toilet, you hit your forehead on the wall. The shower floods through the glass door. Housekeeping does clean it up and leave you fresh towels every day, but still. The room is presented as having 1920s charm, but in reality, it's old, dingy and cramped. There is no thermostat in the room, so you're reliant on central temperature control.

The room was a small, barely big enough for a double bed and desk. The bathroom was very small, hard to move around in. Though the room was small, the bed was very comfortable, and it was convenient in the middle of Kings Cross, close to the train station. Basically in the centre of Kings Cross makes it easy to get around, if you need to move into the city to suburbs, the train station is only short walk away. The room, though a bit small, was comfortable.

Not a quiet hotel, take ear plugs. There is no double glazing or soundproofing so you can hear absolutely everything from the corridors, the rooms upstairs and outside. I was woken up multiple times each night by other guests stomping above my room or moving through the corridor. One of my bedroom windows had a metal grate above it which opened straight to the outside and couldn’t be close so it was like sleeping with a window open and the Kingscross area is not a quiet place and the loud birds wake up early. I wouldn’t stay here again.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE Manager Mathew was extremely rude on arrival. Reserved a king suit with king bed and single bed but on arrival around 4pm was told my room had been given away and therefore we were given a room with a pull out sofa bed and king bed. Problem was the sofa bed couldn't be retracted, it covered the fridge and coffee area of the room and left the three of us with 30cm of space between the beds. Extremely small room FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GO !!!! We left and went to a hotel 400m away which was fantastic in comparison.

Would highly recommend this property. The staff were a pleasure to deal with and the hotel was very well maintained and very clean. The hotel is situated a short walk from Kings Cross Station, and it is quite easy to obtain a taxi if required in the Main Street of King’s Cross, where you will find places to eat and drink

The check in process was very stressful. We arrived at 9.45 and it looked closed and the main phone was off the hook despite us being told we had until 10pm to arrive. My mother phoned the emergency number and the guy did show up from the office opposite reception so I don’t know why he couldn’t hear us calling out. The bed was comfy but the bathroom was ludicrous! I think there is more room in my under stair cupboard !

The front desk staff went above and beyond to help us. They showed us on the map how to get to places, gave restaurant recommendations, and were incredibly kind!

Basically in the centre of Kings Cross makes it easy to get around, if you need to move into the city to suburbs, the train station is only short walk away. The room, though a bit small, was comfortable.

Would highly recommend this property. The staff were a pleasure to deal with and the hotel was very well maintained and very clean. The hotel is situated a short walk from Kings Cross Station, and it is quite easy to obtain a taxi if required in the Main Street of King’s Cross, where you will find places to eat and drink

I wouldn't stay here again. For the positives, the bed linens were very clean and the room didn't smell dirty. You'd get a smelly room and smelly bed in addition to everything below for some budget hotels in the US. The neighborhood around this hotel could be nice and has some interesting buildings, but it's absolutely filthy which makes you feel like you're staying in a sketchy area, which combined w the hotel doesn't make you want to come back at night after a day of exploring. The bathroom has mold and grime on the tile&baseboards. When you're sitting on the toilet, you hit your forehead on the wall. The shower floods through the glass door. Housekeeping does clean it up and leave you fresh towels every day, but still. The room is presented as having 1920s charm, but in reality, it's old, dingy and cramped. There is no thermostat in the room, so you're reliant on central temperature control.

My partner and I thought this was a great option for a brief stay in Potts Point (although it is a bit of a squeeze in the bathroom!). Very close to Darlinghurst Road and Kings Cross train station.

We stayed at No9 Springfield for four nights. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the rooms are quite small, although beautiful, and the bathroom was particularly cramped, making it uncomfortable. The shower stall was missing a seal along the bottom, so every time we showered, water would spill onto the bathroom floor. I mentioned this on the first day, but it wasn’t addressed during our visit, which was disappointing. The hotel does have a lobby with a small cafe and a patio, which is a nice spot to relax. I felt that this space could be better utilized if guests were allowed to bring their own food and drinks from the grocery store across the street, which would have been more convenient and enjoyable.The hotel is conveniently located near Kings Cross Station, but it’s also in an area that was previously known as a red-light district, which may not be ideal for everyone. Given my experience, I’m not sure I would stay here again if I were to return to Sydney.

The vibe of the place and the surrounding area is really very good. The proximity to the train station at Kings Cross is brilliant. Having the Harris Farm food outlet directly across the road open from 7:00am to 10:00pm is really very handy - no need to go hungry. Dinner at Pizza Boccone and dessert at Rivareno were both top class delicious experiences. Both open late too. And to top it off the staff at Springfield are just so professional and friendly at the same time. What's not to like? Well done No 9 Springfield!

The positive: Staff was EXCELLENT! They made sure to help however they could. Bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. Water pressure was excellent. Hotel is going under renovations and this is not mentioned on Hotels.com. Originally we had a room with a double bed but the AC was not working so we were upgraded to a much larger room, the only caveat was that we could only reach that room by very narrow stairs (which were typical from the Victoria era) I have no idea who decorated or arranged this room, but they did not have the guest comfort in mind. The bed was placed very close to the bathroom and wall leaving little space to move around it but also leaving a huge open space in the room that furniture could had been arranged differently. The bathroom was extremely small with the toilette being right at the entrance and no room to move. There were cob webs on the lamps and ceiling. Dust bunnies everywhere. It seems that the cleaning is just done were the people can see immediately. The area has lots of bars and places to eat plus a small market right in front of the hotel. The Kings Cross subway station is within a short walking distance only 2 stops away from city center. I think once renovations are done this will be an excellent place to stay. Regardless of the negatives we did enjoy our stay here.
