St Marks Randwick

Beautiful property in a great neighborhood. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Bathrooms were very small but it was a fair compromise to enjoy this amazing villa. There is a pretty court yard in the back where we enjoyed the wine which was provided in our room. Nice touch!

We had a Great stay. Nice room in the backyard, very clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated in a quiet suburb to Cogee. Great plus is the possibility to do our own laundry, and the kitchenette with coffe and tea.

Location is convenient not just for Randwick but also to access Sydney CBD easily and quickly. There is no lift so all luggage must be carried up stairs if staying in a level 2 room.

My stay at St Marks Randwick was a great experience. I loved the amount of natural light on this property and the furnishing touches like plants and desks, books etc. Small touches around the hotel. It is bright and modern. The area was very quiet, pleasant, and ease of transport made it a great location to stay. There is a nice place to sit in both the courtyard and the front of the property surrounded by plants and plenty of seating. The staff were very friendly, accommodating, and I was able to store my luggage before check in and after check out. The only small issue I had out of the majority of good things was that the air conditioner dripped on my bed once or twice upon start up/intermittent function(?) which I didn't expect as I was lying down at the time. That is honestly my only complaint and it did not ruin my 10 days. For the price I paid and at short notice, I cannot fault this hotel. I have stayed in high rise hotel chains and would choose this property again if I had the option. If you are ever in Sydney and need a place to stay out of the noisy cbd, with modern fixtures/rooms & convenient transport options to the cbd, Bondi, Coogee, I would highly recommend St Marks.

Beautiful building, great decor and location is very quiet. My only complaint is the size of the bathroom as it’s the tiniest sink I have ever attempted to wash my face in. Other than that - lovely! No loft was tricky with my 70 lb suitcase and carry on but we managed! A very lovely stay and only a 25 minute walk to Cogee beach!

Very nice room in a quiet area, friendly, helpful staff. The Randwick light rail station is a 10 minute walk away. We liked the location between the beaches and downtown Sydney. Street parking was a bit of a challenge. Also, our room wasn't ready when we arrived after check in time.

It’s a guest house. There’s parking on the street nearby if you’re lucky. The beds were comfortable and it has a lovely vibe. The bathroom is tiny but ok if you’re only there for 2 days. Not enough lighting to do makeup properly. No microwave in room but there’s a kitchenette with one and free capsule coffee and nice tea bags. The outside courtyard is a beautiful relaxing space. No street noise. Close to restaurants but again hard to park a car.

Stay was good. However hotels.com state that there is parking, but there is not. I had to carry my child with additional needs almost 2km in the pouring rain to reach the front door as there is no alternate entry offered and no parking onsite.

Like the building, but it lacks the boutique feeling I was hoping for. Probably just petty things, but for $600+ for the night, I wanted service. Our arrival guest was pleasant and provided the facts. We were 45 minutes early for the 2 pm check-in, so she offered to store our luggage and pointed us around the corner to a spot under the stairs but didn't guide us. As my mother was elderly, I ended up squeezing under the stairs to place the items. You don't have any offer to contact when the room is ready, just come back. The room had a rushed clean as it was a bit rough around the edges, crumbs and dusty (again $600+ for the night). Had a kitchenette but no tea towel or cloth to keep tidy. However, we had to grab some bread to toast, as the property had nothing nearby without a long walk. Unfortunately, in the upstairs kitchen, only butter knives were available, so we felt a bit disappointed. Note in the room was that cleaning was every 2nd day "for the environment", but after staying over 3 nights, I had to ask for new towels as they didn't dry in the tiny bathroom. I am sure it was fine, I have just had higher expectations.

The facility is clean and well maintained.The ceiling is high and feels open. All of the staff are friendly.

Lovely welcome from the manager upon arrival - friendly and helpful. The general layout and decor of the hotel was tasteful. The courtyard and shared areas were well maintained and clean. Room was mostly clean but dusty in places, also food stains and squashed bug marks on the walls. I struggled to work out the light switches - the manager and her colleague helped me use them and said they'd pass cleaning comments on/ said the room needed a paint. In the evening: the accomodation was quiet until 9.30pm. Guests took personal calls on loudspeaker in the courtyard; neighbours were laughing/ screaming/ talking loudly so it was hard to go to sleep - frustrating as I'd read the hotel was relatively quiet! The bed was hard to sleep on and not comfortable. Checkout was sub par. The desk was meant to open at 8am but staff were late in, so I took my bags down to the car. When I returned, she had arrived but was rushed helping a tradie (still had her backpack and hoodie on). She told me to leave the key on the desk and carried on with the traide. I asked if she wanted to know the room/ my name and she said she would look later. She was not knowledgeable when asked about the local area/ reccomendations, she looked at me like I was stupid for asking - a stark contrast to my welcome the previous day, which was a shame, particularly as the manager and her colleague were kind and attentive. Re location, the positioning is great. Parking was easy; shops 15 min walk/ beach 30 mins.

The room was very clean and the area is excellent.

Really liked our stay, the place was immaculate and the staff very helpful. Washing machine was handy too

Loved the area and the history, but thought the bathroom far too small and claustrophobic.

The communal kitchenette and washing machines were also nice to be able to use. The drain in our shower didn’t seem like it was big enough to drain fully/properly when showering, so the floor got quite wet and slippery. The A/C wasn’t working one of the nights we were there, but I think it had been called in for maintenance. The ceiling fan helped to cool the room down. Staff were very friendly and accommodating!

A very noisy room opposite the reception desk and a lot of light pollution. Otherwise a lovely property - wouldn't stay in that room again.

It was pleasant. The rooms are noisy though … it’s an expensive upgrade, but beautiful old buildings like this would really benefit from double glazing and good fitting doors. I could see a lot of light under and around the door … and when someone walked on the street past the window it sounded like they were in my room!

Was a short stay but enjoyable . Room was comfortable and clean and staff at check in was fantastic. Only points to note are bathroom was really tiny… and my room was near entry so was a bit noisy as people came in later at night. Would still stay again as it’s a great location.

The property is great. The renovations under my room starting at 7am WST (when I had concussion) were pure torture. The drunk moron calling out “Nicky!!” To all hours waking me up over and over the very next night not great. The checking process is appalling. Management systems are clueless. The building us great but you got to get pretty lucky with parking. Have lived and lived in the area for thirty years - it’s still fabulous.

Booking confirmed & fully checked in online via App.they had my mobile, email etc. No contact from hotel. Turned up at 2 to be told oversold & room cancelled was moved to cheaper, older, noiser sister hotel for same price, others be warned.

I arrived 5 minutes late, just before the reception was about to close. However, the staff kindly waited for me and handled the check-in process very quickly. I really appreciate their patience and efficiency. Great service! The hotel was very clean, neat, and well-organized. I also loved the hotel’s design—it was stylish and comfortable. Overall, a great experience!

Nice hotel, well located, clean rooms, and overall satisfied. Unfortunately the below par customer service let it down.

The room was clean and so was the property. Pretty unique. I didn't like that there was no staff at the desk after 6. Thankfully, I was able to get inside and not be out in the cold while trying to get a key. I had notified the hotel that I would likely check in after 6 p.m. and didn't get a message as to how I could get in. Thankfully, a resident on staff was on his way out when he noticed me panicking. He then found my keys in the after hours check in lock box. The key cards didn't work and he had to let me in with his key fob. Basically if I left my room, I couldn't get back in again. I didn't need to leave so that wasn't a worry but really, the whole after hours check in left a lot to be desired. So beware.

What a gem. A really pleasant guest house with modernised rooms. Close to local eateries and only a 15 minute walk to Coogee Beach. 5 minutes to a bus stop to Bondi junction and on into the city if that’s your thing.

Walking distance to the light rail station and commuting to the city. It was a bit tricky to find on-street parking as it was fully parked.

Great location near Randwick racecourses. Easy walk for dinner. Our room was comfortable, but more compact than we were expecting. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars!

Great night out at Govindas and Oxford street surrounds . Clean contemporary room spotless clean surrounds and comfortable without being cluttered.breakfast at the local St Marks cafe was brilliant also just down the road
