Nous avons passé une nuit dans la chambre Hemingway décorée dans l’esprit de chasse et pêche avec des détails africains. Belle décoration, chambre très spacieuse et calme. Un excellent petit déjeuner varié. La parking sur place était appréciable. La localisation est parfaite à l’oree de la vieille ville nous avons tout visité à pieds. Je recommande.

Midt i blinken. Meget trivelig lite hotell med særpreg med utmerket beliggenhet for utforskning av nærliggende parkområde og gamlebyen og kunstnerkvarteret. Enkel innsjekk og utsjekk, tilfredstillende frokost. Ingen lunsj eller middagsservering men man har et utall av disse tilbud like i nærheten. Hvis du ønsker et tilbud som bærer veldig lite preg av å være hotell passer dette utmerket. Alle rom har individuelt særpreg og vi hadde meget god plass på vårt.

Had a pleasant stay. Nice boutique hotel just off the main street. Not noisy at all. Room was spacious with a comfortable bed and large bathroom that s well appointed... heated floors...big bath. Greeted by Alexander who was very professional in answering all our questions of where and how. Breakfast was in a very cozy area. A la carte but at a set fee. Very good selection. Highly recommended. Was opened from 7am-10. Waiter Benz was an absolute gem. Told us about the history of the property and went above and beyond to make our morning meal pleasureable. This hotel is in a PERFECT location to many sites and decent restaurants. A definite good choice. Ps. Consierge can organize a cab for early morning flight. A good stay. Highly recommeded..

Super hotel, very comfortable room, nice convenient location in Old Town, and peaceful. Maybe because it was out of season, the only food/drink available was at breakfast, but there are many restaurants and cafes within a few minutes' walk.

Very nice location in a quiet alley of Vilnius old town. Walking distance to all nearby attractions and restaurants. The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. The room is clean with all necessary amenities. Breakfast is available with good quality. Guests need to know that front desk is closed late at night and won’t open until 8am.

A lovely hotel. I had an allergy friendly room onnthe 3rd floor. The shower was clogged and i asked for service. It was not fixed when i came back to the room later that day but it was fixed the next day by Hospitality. As a compensation the general manager let me overstay til the night as my flight was planned way later than check out time. Amazing service and very friendly staff!

Generally a nice hotel but needs improvements. We had two rooms and one of the rooms the bathroom wasn’t cleaned on a daily basis. On one day the breakfast service was pretty terrible - a small plate of very sad looking fruit salad left. The two ladies on duty spent more time stood hiding behind the bar on their mobile phones than serving. Two fruit salads and two scrambled eggs took over 30 minutes to be served. When I mentioned this to the front desk I was met with a ‘well 90% of customers are happy’ and then when I asked for some like to have with tea in the room I was told, because I’d complained, that I would be charged €3 for the milk. Noticeable that when he saw me later he retracted that and apologised but I’m afraid damage done and a sign of the poor attention to detail and customer service.

Very cozy hotel. Very clean, neat. Bathroom floora have heating. Bed and bedding are very comfortable. Staff is excellw t! Accomodated me with an extra blanket and the heater, as i am always cold :)

This is hardly a 4 star hotel. Things are scruffy and have seen better days. It is supposed literature charming but more like run down. Breakfast ok, once again not a 4 star. Ok for the price, but if not on sale, I won’t recommend.

This was one of the 2 most charming places I have ever stayed (the other being in Greece). I was at the Shakespeare Hotel for 5 nights. The aesthics are delightful-- consistent and well thought out. Has a 19th century literary vibe, with a soothing color palette. One of the front desk concierges, such a warm sweet guy, gave me an excellent tip on where to get an amber massage. The breakfast buffet was delicious, super healthy and fresh, plenty of vegetarian options. (If you are vegan, call ahead.) I wish I could eat the cook's mushrooms three times a day for the rest of my life, soooo delicious! Breakfast rooms are gorgeous, and keep the aesthetic thread. My room had enough space for me to stretch after a run, rustic exposed wood, a desk, a charming view. No refrigerator. Bathroom was clean and spacious. The location was great for starting a run in the park (on dirt trails), then for a longer run you can cross the bridge and run along the river (~80% very hard stone, ~20% breaks for your knees with dirt trails). The ONLY thing I would give low points to was the shampoo. It super dried out my hair. I had better results using the body wash as shampoo. But there are little markets all over, within short wakking distance, so you can get different shampoo if you have a long stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Such a lovely hotel, all positive. Brilliant location for the main square, market, shops, restaurants. Also in a very quiet location. We had 2 rooms both were spacious (one more so with really high ceilings), decorated nicely (theme of writers), kettle, tea, coffee, fridge (very useful) etc provided, heated bathroom floor. Bed was very comfortable, shower worked really well, powerful, good towels too. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we were able to check in early too. The breakfast was amazing! -fantastic choice lovely cooked savory (eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, hash browns etc) and warm sweet pancakes, cooked meats, cheeses, croissants, fruit chopped in glasses, yogurts and much more. All really nicely presented and cooked perfectly. Excellent stay, I would highly recommend it

Everything great, personal rooms, great breakfast service. Only problem is electricity switch in room either turns everything on or off. All lamps and charging phone or no lamps, no charging. Very special, should be at least one lamp and outlet that works even if head lamp is off. Now we had to sit in dark when 6-yearsold child tried to sleep, also leave lamps on during the day to charge phones, not sustainable…..

Mycket trevligt och charmigt hotell i gammal stil med bjälkar och mycket karaktär. Perfekt läge i gamla stan. Frukosten helt ok. Väldigt lyhört tyvärr, vilket var ett minus (även om vi inte stördes några längre stunder).

This hotel is absolutely delightful. It is decorated in a very original way. All the rooms are themed after famous people (Hemingway, Churchill, Tolstoy, etc.), so it’s fantastic to discover many thematic objects related to each person. What we really appreciated was the hotel staff. They were so welcoming, kind, and helpful. It was a real pleasure to stay at this hotel.

The breakfast was amazing! -fantastic choice lovely cooked savory (eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, hash browns etc) and warm sweet pancakes, cooked meats, cheeses, croissants, fruit chopped in glasses, yogurts and much more. All really nicely presented and cooked perfectly. Excellent stay, I would highly recommend it

We had 2 rooms both were spacious (one more so with really high ceilings), decorated nicely (theme of writers), kettle, tea, coffee, fridge (very useful) etc provided, heated bathroom floor. Bed was very comfortable, shower worked really well, powerful, good towels too. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we were able to check in early too. A lovely hotel. I had an allergy friendly room onnthe 3rd floor. The shower was clogged and i asked for service. It was not fixed when i came back to the room later that day but it was fixed the next day by Hospitality. As a compensation the general manager let me overstay til the night as my flight was planned way later than check out time. Amazing service and very friendly staff!

Very cozy hotel. Very clean, neat. Bathroom floora have heating. Bed and bedding are very comfortable. Staff is excellw t! Accomodated me with an extra blanket and the heater, as i am always cold :)

Fantastic location. Worst check in experience EVER & we travel frequently. Mix up at the station & unable to locate our taxi, our coach arrived late & we ended up taking a taxi independently. Check in was appalling as a result - extremely rude & unpleasant. For reference, in 7 yrs this is my 1st negative review.

Me gusta mucho cómo está ambientado y la localización. El parking gratuito definitivamente es un plus importante. Noches tranquilas: no hay trafico rodado ni mucho jaleo en las calles. Sólo le pongo un "pero": la parte bufé del desayuno no tiene mucha variedad. Me encantó de nuevo

Beautiful and personal hotel with the best location! Loved that each room had an author´s name, instead of a number. The room was bigger than expected, airy and with nice personalized details like antique furniture and old books in a bookshelf. Like staying at a relative’s:) The only downside was that the breakfast options, though I´m sure luxurious for many, was not for me since I only eat a continental breakfast with toast with simple cheese and marmelade, and there was not much to choose from in the buffet. Everything else was ordered from a menue and I couldn´t eat any of that.. too fancy for me I guess!

Very good location in old town on a quiet see street. The area is very walkable and offers good access to dining, shopping, and the local attractions to see. The room is well appointed and the staff was very nice. The breakfast is good and offers many options.

Generally a nice hotel but needs improvements. We had two rooms and one of the rooms the bathroom wasn’t cleaned on a daily basis. On one day the breakfast service was pretty terrible - a small plate of very sad looking fruit salad left. The two ladies on duty spent more time stood hiding behind the bar on their mobile phones than serving. Two fruit salads and two scrambled eggs took over 30 minutes to be served. When I mentioned this to the front desk I was met with a ‘well 90% of customers are happy’ and then when I asked for some like to have with tea in the room I was told, because I’d complained, that I would be charged €3 for the milk. Noticeable that when he saw me later he retracted that and apologised but I’m afraid damage done and a sign of the poor attention to detail and customer service.

My husband and I are vey frequent travelers all over the world so we have experienced a large sampling of hotels. This is only the third negative review we’ve written in over 20+ years. We were very disappointed in our stay at The Shakespeare Hotel. We were first given a room that looked out into the street and very close to the road looking into a driveway. We like to sleep with our windows open and with the noise and passers by it would have been both unsafe and noisy. We were moved to another but smaller room on the 2nd floor, a degrade, but at least we could open the windows. There is no elevator and lots of steps to the 2nd floor. Also, no place where you could buy a glass of wine in the hotel and sit in a cozy area. However the worst was the single room our friend was given (James Joyce) which should not have cost more than 25 euros but she paid over 100 euros. It looked out on the parking lot and there was hardly enough room to move around. The tv obstructed her window view. The last night of our 3 night stay there was a wedding in the room right above our friend’s room. We asked how long the wedding would go. The receptionist did not know. Well, it went long enough into the night that our friend lost 3/4s of a nights sleep. In other reputable hotels that have had weddings they have notified us in advance of the event and given us the opportunity to cancel our hotel, understanding that noise from a wedding might interrupt our sleep. We do not recommend this hotel.

We plan to stay at Shakespeare when we come next year. Fabulous rooms and a staff that was very very friendly and helpful. Closest to old town so you can walk everywhere.
