Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Booked a suite for a family of 5 and it was very spacious/clean. Nice big bathroom. Beds were comfortable. The pool area was a bit smaller then expected and very busy. Smaller kiddie pool was a great option for my 4 year old. No lifejackets available despite pictures of the pool area on the website which show lifejackets hanging by the pool. Was told that new management removed the lifejackets and they're no longer available to hotel guests. The playground was great, kids loved it.

Overall good but ridiculous with the pool access, we're a family of 6 and they wouldnt even allow me to purchase 2 more wristbands for my daughters friends who live nearby. Offered desk guy $100, he refused.

We have a one year old boy who can't walk yet so having the indoor playground was a game changer (although it could have used some dusting/cleaning)! The pools were really nice as well. The room itself was pretty average. We liked that it had a microwave and a fridge. What we didn't like was the parking - it was a very compact parking lot and not many parking spots. The strictness on the wristbands was the absolute worst and so absurd. We took our wristbands off the first night because they bothered us and the next day they made us go to our room, get them out of the trash and bring them to the front desk to get replacements - all while we have our one year old freaking out. It just wasn't cool. They were very strict on everything which was very annoying while having our small child with us. The food at the restaurant was very average as well. There really isn't anything walkable around the hotel except a drug store and a Boston's restaurant. Overall was an okay stay but don't know if I would stay there again.

Nice family oriented hotel , great pool area with play structure , lots of tables and chairs in play and pool area to watch kids etc . Downside is parking . Not alot of outdoor spots and although there is underground parking you cant use it if u have an suv or van due to low clearance. Bathroom door in the rooms are a sliding door that doesnt stay shut . No table in room that has 2 queen beds.

Extremely clean rooms and facilities. We were super impressed with how well kept the play area and pool was. The rooms were modern, although not overly spacious. We had a queen bed with double-size bunkbeds which was perfect for our family. The only small issue was the air conditioner wasn’t working properly and the room got very warm. We had them address it once, but the problem persisted. We didn’t bother raising it again since we were leaving the next day. We will definitely stay again. We had a great time and used the pool and kids area for hours! It was a bit crowded at times, but that’s to be expected.

Asked front desk at check-in, where I could get coffee, they told me in the bar area right off the lobby. When I went there, they told me sorry they would have to make some. But didn’t. front desk told us about underground parking but we weren’t able to figure out how to get in. Since we were only there for one night, we just hauled our stuff across the parking lot. There were plenty of trolleys, but had to push it up a long awkward ramp to get to the elevator. To our knowledge breakfast wasn’t included. Wasn’t mentioned we didn’t ask. Towels were dirty and had hair in the tub. Had to start the coffee pot 2 or 3 times to engage and get a cup.

I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this hotel was. I gave cleanliness a 4 simply because the hot tub was foamy which speaks of bacteria. Pool was a great temperature for kids to enjoy playing.

There was a druggie walking thru parking lot shouting out random words. Didnt feel safe. Thank goodness my husband was with me, we had to wait and walk around back of my car quickly inside. Beds were very hard, didnt sleep well. Certain parts of room not cleaned well enough. Room was too close to pool area and chlorine smell bothered us.

Room was great, kitchen was fully stocked with utensils to use. Accommodated our request for cribs. Pool area and play place clean and fun for kids. Only downfall was the restaurants food was poor, supper was poor steak sandwhich was soggy and steak a pencil led thick and over done. Burger had stale peeling bun and lacked any condiments on it. Breakfast was poor eggs were over hooked and all brown. Expensive prices in restaurant for very poor food.

Poor Service, Noisy Stay, and Uncomfortable Room – Will Not Return Upon check-in, we went to our room to find a large permanent red stain on the floor. Wanting to avoid being charged, I called the front desk to report it. Instead of simply noting it, they made me come to the lobby, wait for maintenance to inspect it (who even said, “I don’t know why they put you in this room”), and then wait again for keys to a new room. I had explained we could stay if we weren’t blamed for the stain, but if moved, we needed a quiet room as it was a Monday evening and we had very important early morning work meetings. The new room reeked of air freshener so strongly we dropped our bags and had to leave until it dissipated. Despite my request for a quiet location, we were placed beside a large family with multiple rooms both beside and across the hall, who slammed doors, ran in halls, and continued to make noise until 3 a.m and well beyond me calling the front desk staff at 1a.m to report the ongoing disturbance and pleading for them to do something to make it stop. Additional issues: Only 3 towels in the bathroom for a 4-person reservation. Thermostat wouldn’t go below 18°C and the room stayed uncomfortably warm all night. No compensation—staff said to “take it up with Expedia.” If you want to deal with stains, sweat all night, and be kept awake by constant hallway noise, this is the place for you. Zero stars.

We showed up to the hotel quite early, but our room was ready so they let us check in early. The hotel was clean and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay! The play structure and pool were a HUGE hit with my daughter, and I'd absolutely go back.

My flight landed at 7am, I was exhausted but had no where to go. They had a room ready for me in an hour and let me check in early so I could get some sleep. The front desk staff is amazing.

Kids loved the play area and the pool - and the pool was nice and warm. Staff were very friendly during our stay Only issue I’ve had is my security deposit not being released on my credit card and when I called staff weren’t able to help - instructed to call back when the guest services manager was on (daytime only)

I liked most of the things the hotel had to offer. Although I did not like that my room had not been cleaned until I asked. I had two mornings without clean towels and a messy bed for most of my stay. If this is something that needs to be requested, you should tell the guests. Also, the female pool staff were a little rude around closing time.

The staff at the front desk and the cleaning team were exceptional. One front desk staff member, in particular, who worked mostly in the evenings, was incredibly sweet and helpful, making our stay especially enjoyable. Unfortunately, we had a less pleasant experience with the restaurant staff. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we waited to be seated while two staff members passed by without acknowledging us. When someone finally came to assist us, she was unfriendly, and her response to my question was rude and dismissive. Thankfully, our suite had a kitchen, allowing us to make our own meals or order from Skip and avoid dining at the restaurant.

Maybe it’s the wildfire evacuees staying there for free or being a Best Western rather than Holiday inn now but I was not impressed with the other customers. The drug use in the parking lot was something else. Someone pooped in the play structure. My car got damaged in the parking lot. The elevator smelled like drug smoke. I usually like this hotel but was not impressed.
Maybe it’s the wildfire evacuees staying there for free or being a Best Western rather than Holiday inn now but I was not impressed with the other customers. The drug use in the parking lot was something else. Someone pooped in the play structure. My car got damaged in the parking lot. The elevator smelled like drug smoke. I usually like this hotel but was not impressed.

The property is not in a great spot and isn't super safe, they also have no security or anything on the property for when issues inevitably arrive.

Close to the park, not too far from downtown (20 minute drive). Close to restaurants and pharmacy. Clean and very friendly staff. Lobby bar is very nice too.

Good for kids, and family. Easy to get out of the city, or into the downtown. Not much to do in the immediate area, so you need to drive to do anything.

Pros: clean, great play structure and pool for kids, comfortable bed, clean bathroom with well draining tub. Cons: A/C in our room did not work, breakfast at hotel restaurant had very slow service and sausage came undercooked.

It was nice having a lounge and a restaurant. I had chicken tacos, which were good. My husband had the steak sandwich which was not good. The steak was mostly gristle and he barely ate any of it. He did not complain unfortunately so the hotel was not given the chance to rectify it. The staff was amazing though.

Room was great, kitchen was fully stocked with utensils to use. Accommodated our request for cribs. Pool area and play place clean and fun for kids. Only downfall was the restaurants food was poor, supper was poor steak sandwhich was soggy and steak a pencil led thick and over done. Burger had stale peeling bun and lacked any condiments on it. Breakfast was poor eggs were over hooked and all brown. Expensive prices in restaurant for very poor food.

The kitchen ran out of gluten free bread on Sunday morning, so no toast. This morning, Tuesday, there was still no gluten free toast. I especially phoned ahead to make sure they had gf options. This made breakfast less pleasant. I substituted a fruit cup, for which I had to pay extra. Not fair!

The hotel continues to be the best place to stay for a family with small children coming to Winnipeg. It's friendly, spacious and has lots for the kids to do. The location on Portage is easy to get to. The pool and play center area can get very busy on weekends with birthday parties and large family gatherings, and the hot tub is tiny and fits only 4 people comfortably.
