Spacious clean and comfortable rooms, in a very old building with no facilities and no sign of any staff. Ensuite was clean and functional but has not been updated for decades. Car park is in need of resurfacing. Location is a little remote from any shopping.

For the prices being charged, this was a very underwhelming facility. Even though it was the Easter LWE, I would have expected the dinning facilities to be open. The room was tidy enough however there was a missing shelf over the very old and dated sink in the bathroom, the hot water tap fell off in my hand and was unable to put back on properly because the thread had stripped and to top it all off, the bathroom leaked from under the tiles out onto the carpet. Then to top it all off, I was in the room where a famous Artist died many years ago!!! I would not reccommend this Hotel to anyone...

Disappointing and way over-priced. Photos were very deceiving. No service at all as there is no reception. Check-in via text only. Needs updating. There was a leak in the bathroom. Restaurant was not open. The only good point is the location, handy to shops and the beach. Wouldn't stay there again.

The property was ideally located for my stay. It was a 300m walk to the venue I attended. The room was clean and had a microwave, plates and cups etc as well as good sized fridge. The bathroom was clean but old and needs some updating. The window at the back of the room could not be latched and there was no safe. As everything was electronic the only interaction I had with the staff were the cleaners who were lovely. Parking was easy. It had an old motel charm about it. Yes I would stay there again.

When we arrived at the Beach hotel Friday afternoon, there was fantastic music playing at the motel bar/restaurant which kept us there till our show at Anita's nearby. Peter and John made us feel so welcome and happy to have chosen the Thirroul Beach motel. The cocktails were fantastic as were the the tapas options. Our room was clean, spacious and secure - we will def be back and recommend to friends. Adrian and Donna 15 April 2023

We thought it was very central to the main street and theatre. Didn't see any staff. All correspondence by email. Room was the closest to the main road. It was tired in appearance. Centre of the main shops and coffee bars are walk in distance and beaches some walking distance. The only thing is that the motel is outdated and needs to have some loving Care sheets are clean. Floor looks fine. Carpet looks old a few mosquitoes around the area trying to kill them at night And cockroach just needs to be taken care of. I would say this motel is a three star.

We were in room 13, upstairs. Front door didnt seal well so road noise and rain was really loud. Full fridge/freezer opposite the bed was noisy and the blinds don't seal closed so the outside walkway light shines through to light the room. Neighbouring room guests were noisy. Couldn't sleep which was disappointing. Aside from that, location is walking distance to shops/restaurants and bed is comfy.

Noisiest accomodation ever. Could clearly here people talking through the thin walls on both sides of room 2, and heavy stomping above in room 12 at all hours of the night. Got about 12 interrupted hours of sleep over the 3 night stay. Wouldn’t recommend.

Beggars can't be choosers. It is old, but it is clean and its the only motel in Thiroul. We were allocated the room closest to the road but we probably took the last available unit. We would definitely stay there again.

Very comfortable rooms and location is great - only issue was how little noise the walls keep out, and the water system was extremely loud. A neighbour showering at 5am sounded like somebody using power tools!

The motel was surprisingly quiet for its main street location. The main rooms have been refurbished and were very comfortable. The bathrooms were a bit dated, but in a cool clean retro way. All the staff were great and very accommodating Overall an excellent choice..

Room was comfortable, but because on Highway road noise apparent. Also next to stairway, so added noise of clomping up and down the stairs(Rm1) Shower head needs replacing, poor pressure and leaking out back. Convenient location for Anita’s Theatre.

Great location but very overpriced for the room we had (21) which was at the end with a very bright light shining all night directly outside our window. The blinds were broken so couldn’t be closed properly. Bedside lamp light bulb didn’t work. Shelf in the bathroom had been broken off and not replaced.

We needed somewhere nearby Anita's theatre and this was perfect - a 2 minute walk. We were in room 1 which fronts the main road and could have been noisy but the traffic stopped at night so it was quiet while we slept. Although advertised, our room had no microwave and only one mug. I rang reception anda microwave and another mug were delivered quite promply by a friendly smiling staff member. The rooms are a little tired as it is an older motel. We felt that value for money was lacking at $165 for a Thursday night. Covid seems to have increased prices everywhere.

The hotel has a key pad entry. This did not work! i was assisted by Sam who deactivated the key pad. I then had key access. Unfortunately the room could not then be locked! Thus an unlocked room for the night was not my preferred!!

Booking and check-in was all automated on-line and by SMS. It was a very efficient and unique experience. Despite the poor shower water pressure, the unit was well equipped, tidy and very clean. The Motel is conveniently located and within very easy walking distance of shops, amenities and the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

The property was ideally located for my stay. It was a 300m walk to the venue I attended. The room was clean and had a microwave, plates and cups etc as well as good sized fridge. The bathroom was clean but old and needs some updating. The window at the back of the room could not be latched and there was no safe. As everything was electronic the only interaction I had with the staff were the cleaners who were lovely. Parking was easy. It had an old motel charm about it. Yes I would stay there again.

For the prices being charged, this was a very underwhelming facility. Even though it was the Easter LWE, I would have expected the dinning facilities to be open. The room was tidy enough however there was a missing shelf over the very old and dated sink in the bathroom, the hot water tap fell off in my hand and was unable to put back on properly because the thread had stripped and to top it all off, the bathroom leaked from under the tiles out onto the carpet. Then to top it all off, I was in the room where a famous Artist died many years ago!!! I would not reccommend this Hotel to anyone...

Disappointing and way over-priced. Photos were very deceiving. No service at all as there is no reception. Check-in via text only. Needs updating. There was a leak in the bathroom. Restaurant was not open. The only good point is the location, handy to shops and the beach. Wouldn't stay there again.

The bathroom could do with a refresh. Shower had some mould and the toilet paper kept falling to the floor due to bracket. Love the keyless entry. So sad about the restaurant though

Very clean, spacious and lots of amenities in the room. Walking distance to beach, shops and restaurants. Breakfast cereal and milk supplied which was very nice to have. Lots of power points near the bed but so low on floor could not plug my medical device in. No one to talk to to ask for an extension cord etc as no one on site and no phone number displayed in room to ring. Shower had a leak and flooded bathroom. It was our second stay and would stay again.

Received a message advising of check in details & aircon was running when we got there, which was appreciated on such a hot day. 3 x single beds, mattresses were reasonably comfortable, but 1 bed was located directly under the airconditioner & was blowing straight on my grandson, so we couldn't have it on during the night. Vertical blinds on windows allowed a lot of light in & as there was a lot of noise from the main road. Packets of cereals in the fridge were a nice touch. Best feature of the motel is it's location - walking distance to beach, pool & eatteries.

When we arrived at the Beach hotel Friday afternoon, there was fantastic music playing at the motel bar/restaurant which kept us there till our show at Anita's nearby. Peter and John made us feel so welcome and happy to have chosen the Thirroul Beach motel. The cocktails were fantastic as were the the tapas options. Bathrooms outdated, basin taps needed to be secured. Blinds facing car park were broken. Chipped mug. Smokers should be given an area outside the motel building and not down the upstairs corridor to smoke as they make a noise and disturb people trying to sleep. Beds were clean and very comfortable . Great idea providing cereal for breakfast.

It was like stepping back in time when we walked into our room at this motel - old fashioned and very much 1960's style. (The bathroom floor tiling took me back to the days when I used to live with my grandmother who had a bathroom floor of the same design!) However, these remarks are not meant as unkind criticisms. This motel was well located near our party venue and there was parking right outside our room. The spacious room was spotless and had all the toiletry and tea/coffee making supplies which we have come to expect in Australian motels. The bed was really comfortable and the sheets were crisp and clean. All in all this motel suited us admirably and I would recommend it. Travelers should note that there is no reception as it is a 'self check-in' motel, which means you need to get room number and key code before you can get into the room. However, this is a straight forward process. My only negative criticism is that it was a bit overpriced, especially as we stayed in the depth of winter.

First, the positives - it's in a good location with an easy walk to the beach and Thirroul shops (or in my specific case to see a band at Anita's Theatre). The modern code based door locks where they text you your unlock code before arrival is great - no keys or cards to collect or carry - excellent.
