The Westin Zagreb

The hotel is very old and the rooms too. The shower was not working. The fridge was empty and I had to ask to clean the room. The spa and gym were closed. Honestly this is not a 5 stars hotel. Just average

We stayed 3 nights, the hotel location is walking distance to old town. It has pool, sauna and gym. The hotel is old dated and definitely needs major upgrade!

Great location - about a 15 minute walk from the city center. The indoor pool and gym are among the best I've seen at any hotel. We had a very good check in experience and the bed very comfortable. We also had a very lovely view of the city. We did experience issues with maintenance and a coffee machine - the main light was flickering, the air conditioner not working, the toilet was making a croaking sound. We were also promised a coffee machine with capsules, but our room only had a kettle and instant coffee packages. Everything was fixed, but the maintenance person left a mess on the floor and toilet and it took 4 requests to get our coffee machine (I don't know why a property like the Westin would provide any room with instant coffee packages). The hotel lobby and common areas are nice, but the rest of the hotel is very dated. The hallways smell musty, the carpets are very badly stained and ripped in some places as well as the wallpaper (at least on Floor 12). Our room was not very clean - stained carpet, dirty headboard, and very dusty. The hallways on the pool/fitness floor smell heavily of cigarette smoke. This could be a very beautiful hotel, but not up to Westin standards. An update and ensuring rooms are clean and in working order before checking in guests would make a big difference.

Very disappointing! Very warn out corridor carpet, unsafe!! Very expensive meals & coffee (Coffee 3-4 times the price across the road in a caffe) Expensive car parking. Location Great, walking distance to Ban Jelačić Zagreb Centar. Good Public Transport

The hotel was worn out. Needs a refresh. The TV on our room made an annoying constant clicking noise. We booked the room because of the pool and learned during check-in that it was closed. Unfortunately our room was non-refundable. On a positive note, they offered to pay for a cab so we could go to another hotel to use their pool, the air conditioning worked great in the room and they offered free bottled water.

Le lobby de l'hôtel est bien décoré et rénové. Idem pour le restaurant et le bar de l'hôtel qui sont magnifiques et très propre également. La devanture de l'immeuble date beaucoup. Les trottoirs et l'apparence générale extérieure auraient besoin d'être rafraichit. Le gym de l'hôtel est un gym ouvert au public. Très achalandé et limite désagréable. En ce qui concerne la piscine, l'eau est chaude et propre. Toutefois, le revêtement de la piscine doit être rénové complètement. Les carreaux de céramique s'enlève facilement. Pour ce qui est de la chambre, on m'a logé dans une suite exécutive qui date du debut des années 2000 coté look. La propreté de la chambre était correcte, mais la chambre avait du tapis partout. Pas ideal pour les allergies. La salle de bain etait spacieuse, mais il y avait de la moisissure dans les joints de la douche. Normal après 20 ans... Côté insonorisation, très décevant. Ma chambre donnait face au centre-ville de Zagreb. Les bruits de la rue, des voitures et du tramway sont prédominant. Les voix et rires venant des chambres adjacente sont facilement perceptibles. Dommage que je n'aig pas été logé dans une suite rénovée comme on voit sur les photos. Somme toute un voyage d'affaires correct, mais sans plus. Si je retourne à Zagreb, ce ne sera pas au Westin.

Great location easy to walk to city center and safe area. Great bedding and shower. Elaborate breakfast. Nice indoor pool and huge gym

Swimming pool in very bad shape and full of mold .Carpets destroyed and causes tripping hazard .No electrical plugs on both side of the nightstands only on one. Great distance to the center of the town easy accessed.

This hotel is a very dated Westin on the edge of the historic town area. It is a healthy walk to restaurants. The in-hotel restaurant pushes it expensive buffets. The hallway carpeting is lumpy and threadbear and emits a stale musty odor. The room less so but all in all it didn't feel very clean. It's time Westin gave this hotel a brand make-over.

Dated facility that requires more maintenance. There was a leak in the bathroom and curtains were very worn out.

Shower head is broken, water spills everywhere. Room is outdated and smelly. Carpet is dirty. Room was equipped for 1 person stay only even though we were 2.

The hotel staff is very kind, the breakfast is excellent, the room is clean and big enough, the pillows can be more comfortable, were too high. The curtains in the room need refreshment and cleaning.

The carpet was gross. The bathroom had hair in the shower. The ceiling was leaking. The room was so dusty. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. There was a massive spider on our wall. We saw a cockroach at the hotel breakfast.

Sucio y viejo muy diferente a las fotos que tienen en la página de hoteles.com Solicité cambio de habitaciones o reembolso y me dijeron que miráramos otras que estaban aún peor y que tampoco nos podían reembolsar porque pensamos en irnos a otro hotel . El de la recepción molestó y de una manera despectiva nos dijo que ni modo Los corredores sucios , deteriorados , tapetes manchados y la habitaciónes con mobiliario roto

The property conditions were poor, carpet coming off, baseboards broken. I was a little surprised for a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was the best part.

Great location as it is close to old downtown area. Was on an upper floor and a wedding reception was going on above my floor with live band that played late into the night making it difficult to fall asleep

We stayed here for about 8 nights. It's conveniently located, tram across the road. Can easily walk to the downtown area. We had two rooms in this hotel. The first 4 nights we had a room on the 14 the floor, close to a main intersection, it was pretty loud in the morning. In the corner behind the desk, the corner wall looked a little black. We only noticed this because we had to move the desk. The breakfast was good. Rooms could do with an update. It's a very busy hotel.

Excellent stay but in the newly renovated rooms. The lady at the reception was very kind and helpful. Staff in the breakfast as well. Service much better than other hotels in zagreb. Just have to renovate all the rooms. Thank you

Bathromms need to be updated and the rooms were hot inside not much help with the thermostat .

Disappointed in the room’s condition. Also, the AC appeared to be laboring to keep the temperature cool. Rippled carpet, peeling wallpaper, super slow USB port. Bathroom was clean.

The hotel rooms are very outdated. Also hotel reception service is pretty basic and unfriendly. The only good thing is the great breakfast they serve that is one of the best around the world.

This hotel was fine but is definitely not 5 stars. It was quite expensive for a 2 twin room. The room is dated (not a big deal) but bell service was nonexistent. The bell person watched for 10 minutes as we loaded our bags onto a cart and push them through the lobby, then proceeded to ask if we wanted help pushing it up the elevator only - seemed as if they wanted a tip without helping with the heavy lifting and loading of bags. The pool area is part of a gym which is a private business not associated with the hotel. Crowded and had smell of sweat - not a 5 star experience. Breakfast was fine but need more coffee options at buffet - latte, espresso machine? The hotel has potential to be nice, but this is a 3 or 4 star and should not be considered 5 star at present.

Booked a suite. We arrived a bit early, around 1 and told that room wasn’t ready. No problem as check in is at 3 and should come back then… we walked around with our one year old and planned on having her take her nap shortly after 3.. we arrived at 3 and room wasn’t ready, they gave us a voucher for cognac or moscato which no one really drinks… wasn’t exactly in the mood for a drink, exhausted from driving and having a tired child. 330 rolled around and no room. Tried to ask if room was ready but the staff said I had to line up in 10-15 person long check in line… by the way everyone was agitated… as many people’s rooms weren't ready. Got the room, and let’s just say needing a refresh is an understatement. Many stains on carpets the sinks and tiles are all faded from foot traffic. Only reason why I booked this hotel was for the indoor pool. Which we came to learn has been leased to a regular gym and guests have to walk through the gym and swim with gym members who are doing laps… looking out in full blown graffiti. After your swim, you can use one of the towels from the gym that have rips in them. And the kicker is they try and nickel and dime you every step of the way. I know how difficult it must’ve been for housekeeping and I have to say despite all the negativity they were so pleasant… My wife and I have stayed at dozens of Westins and I can’t believe they put their brand on this… being so brand driven. Horrible hotel and would never stay here again.

Parking was convenient and good location to walk to the city center Check in was delayed until 630 even though we arrived at the property for 4pm. Rooms are dated and need upgrading. Property is tired. Not up to Westin standards compared to other Westins I have stayed at.

Great staff. Clean, spacious room, welcome gifts. But it is really in a need of renovation.

The check-in process was the slowest I have ever had anywhere, and no apology or acknowledgment from the reception staff ‘Maja’ , the hotel is incredibly dated and the swimming pool is heaving/ tired. Parking is €20 a day- when right next to the hotel it’s €13.30 a day on zona 1. So overall not a good hotel.

Wonderful property and staff and service were wonderful! Restaurant in the hotel was excellent as well! Hotel is a bit dated and could use a refresh. It is also just a bit outside of city center with few options for transportation so you have to hoof it yourself or call an Uber. Nonetheless a wonderful stay in Zagreb

The hotel amenities upon arrival were wonderful. The interior was a bit dated but very comfortable. The location was exceptional. It was a short walk to all of the sights. We had a wonderful time.

Great breakfast buffet, great location.

The breakfast was my highlight. It's also within proximity if you prefer walking. I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member but whole prepaid credit was confusing for me as it was the first time experiencing it.

Large suite with one and a half bathrooms, super comfortable bed. At dinner in the hotelI I eat the best fish and chip in my 61 years on this earth, how do you top that?

Hotel property is central to everything. Except for the Breakfast Buffet, the food wasn't really good. The bacon was so oily, the sausages feels like its been recooked several times, I ordered some omelet but the cook serving the omelet ignored me. I was only able to eat some fruits and i left. Paid 21 euros for this. Not really a great experience compared to the other hotels i stayed in. I do suggest to get a meal Outside this hotel, its more affordable and satisfying.
