Hotel Aurelius

Hotel had several unique features in the rooms and hotel. Needs updating and some necessities but the ambiance and decor is captivating. Many Roman period statues, art and pieces are very cool!

Qui, invece, 170 USD a notte per una stanza. • L’elettricità saltava continuamente: bastava accendere qualcosa perché i tappi scattassero. • La chiave della cassaforte era rotta. • I materassi? Sembravano originali del 1960, scomodi e sfondati. • Viaggiavamo con due neonati e ci hanno dato un’unica culla… rotta. • Non è possibile comprare nemmeno una bottiglia d’acqua se non si ha contante. • Il quartiere trasmette insicurezza, sembra il peggior angolo di periferia pakistana. • Per entrare bisogna passare tre porte come in una prigione. Un disastro totale. Evitatelo.

The first room I got had one power outlet behind the fridge. I chaged room for one night to get one equiped wit power outlets, but then I had to change again after one night. i only saw one person working at the hotel and you had to call on a inernphone to get service at the front desk. Also awkward to not get into some kind of lobby from the street at arival becouse a locked gate stopped you at the street.

Die Duschkabine ist nicht vollständig funktionsfähig – die Dusche ist kaputt, Fliesen fehlen, und das Wasser läuft nicht schnell genug ab. Der Haartrockner ist nicht sicher zu benutzen, da Kabel sichtbar sind und die Gefahr eines Stromschlags besteht. Nach etwa 30 Sekunden hat er aufgehört zu funktionieren. Auf dem Bett war nur Bettlaken zum Zudecken, im Schrank war eine dünne Decke, das ist aber nicht hygienisch. Für Hausschuhe mussten wir extra fragen, obwohl in der Zimmerbeschreibung stand, dass sie zur Verfügung gestellt werden – uns wurde jedoch gesagt, dass dies nicht mehr angeboten wird. Die Lüftung funktioniert nicht richtig und nach dem Duschen ist das Badezimmer voller Dampf. Wenn die Lüftung eingeschaltet ist, ist sie sehr laut – als ob ein Hubschrauber im Zimmer fliegen würde. Das Bett ist außerdem 160×190 cm groß, was für mich persönlich zu kurz ist. In der Gästetoilette des Hotels gibt es kein Handpapier und es riecht unangenehm. Zum Betreten des Hotels erhält man eine Karte, da ein Sicherheitssystem vorhanden ist, aber diese Karte funktioniert nicht immer, sodass man auf den Rezeptionisten warten muss, um die Tür zu öffnen. Der tatsächliche Wert des Zimmers beträgt ca. 40 Euro. Ein positiver Aspekt ist, dass die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel in die Stadt, U-Bahn und Bus, in der Nähe sind. Die Fahrzeit mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln ins Stadtzentrum beträgt ca. 40 Minuten.

I booked this hotel because of location and the fact it was 4*. After staying for 3 nights, I’m afraid I would only give it 3*. The host was lovely, although never at the desk, day or evening. He was, however, quick to respond to the bell. The hotel itself, I would describe as tired. An influx of money and a little care would be invaluable. We had been travelling for 9 hours and when arriving would at the very least hope for a bottle of water. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere there hasn’t been a kettle or tea and coffee making facilities

Average experience. This is not a 4 star hotel. The positive: - Very close to the metro. - Relatively clean. - Quiet. - Beautiful lobby. The negative: - Our room was a bit damp and had a funky smell. - No breakfast available. - Rather cold nights in April, no functioning heating in our room. - Loose floor tiles and general wear. - The bathroom sink in our room was leaking. Also, the beads was very firm, but this is a matter of taste.

Great place to walk and find public transportation. Wonderful art/decoration around the whole facility. Cool sculptures, pics, and art.

Clean ,friendly accommodating front desk staff. My son especially liked the museum vibe. It was not a typical hotel the statues really give the “Rome vibes.”

Location near transit and restaurants. Hotel lacked many amenities. No food service. Our first room smelled bad( bathroom drain issues) They did accommodate and provided another room. Bed in second room was most uncomfortable. Decore is out dated and gaudy and bedspreads were worn out. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Noise level was high due to high traffic area. Unfortunately I would not recommend.

O hotel não é próximo ao centro histórico de Roma, mas de fácil acesso ao metrô. O atendimento é super gentil e amigável porém a limpeza deixa a desejar e tive crises alérgicas de pele toda vez que deitava na cama. O nosso quarto tinha dois chuveiros sendo que um não funcionava e a limpeza do banheiro desejável

Elmer is great. Very polite and verry helpful. However he's alone and he does everything by him. Carpet in the room was so dirty that I looked muddy. There are cocroaches in the room. I have a video of it.

Clean, excellent staff and the subway is just around the corner giving you easy access to Rome.

Perfect hotel, if all you’re looking for is a hotel to sleep in after you’ve explored Rome. 2 minute walk from Metro station and three stops from St Peter’s Square. Beds aren’t the comfiest, but with the amount of walking you’ll be doing, you’ll not care!!

The bed was a little firm for me. The staff were friendly & helpful. There are dining options very close. There is a train entrance very close by. I would definitely stay here again.

The bed was very firm, hard to sleep in. People in another room had a small dog which barked a lot, waking us up during the night.

The Aurelius hotel is a beautiful establishment in Rome. It's close to the metro. We loved our room with a terrace overlooking the street. It's located in a not-so-good neighborhood but we didn't have any problems. Glad they have a McDonald's close by.

La ubicación es muy buena a unos metros del metro, buena ubicación, las habitaciones son pequeñas, el baño es extraño y pequeño fuera de donde esta el WC.

The hotel was really nice. Unfortunately, they put two twin beds together with two separate twin bed frames, so if you got anywhere near the middle of the bed, they would move apart. Sad for such a beautiful hotel!!

The room was very clean and the staff so much courteous. Also a metro station is very close (2 min walking). But the neighborhood is not great, also I think an hospital was in front because we were always hearing ambulance sirens. So if you leave the room in the morning for the day, and come back just for sleeping, it's ok.

The location of the hotel is great and the Marcus Aurelius sculptures throughout the building are nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk employee named Elmer is awesome!! He is very friendly and was very helpful to us by giving great information of how to use the transportation around the city. We enjoyed our stay very much!

The front desk guy Elmer is AWESOME. Best hotel experience I can ever remember. Right when we checked in Elmer made us aware of the subway station which is 4 blocks away. Then we were a 5 to 10 minute ride via subway to any of 40 locations in Rome. Our room was remarkably quiet. We (family of 3) all slept great! This was my 3rd trip to Rome from Texas and this was the best and most convenient place ever. I highly recommend!!

Excellent hotel and very good value for the money. Elmer was an outstanding guest coordinator. He was attentive, responsive, friendly, and always available. Aileen of the housekeeping staff was also very helpful, friendly, and kept our room spotless. The location was very near the Cornelia station which made everything accessible. There were many nearby excellent dining option with great pizzerias and pasticcerias within walking distance. The SIT shutlle to and from the airport was a 5 minute walk away as well. If there is a downside, it would be that the property is somewhat dated. But the decor of many Roman statuary was really interesting and unique in my opinion. Also, everything we needed such as safe, ref, good sized shower and separate toilet were there. It would be nice to have a microwave but apparently this is not the norm. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

I loved this hotel. The staff were so warm, hospitable and friendly. It was very accessible to a lot of the tourist areas and main part of Rome by train and the train was less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Driving would take longer and cost more so train option is very affordable and convenient!

Well, the area this hotel is in isn’t so great, inside the hotel is lovely. The hotel manager named Elmer was extremely helpful and helping me get around and address my needs. Can you say extremely considerate and ready to help. The room I stayed in was quite large with the refrigerator and a lovely shower., so very spacious and far away enough from the street so that the traffic wasn’t so loud. The hotel is fairly close to the metro line a which gives access to several sites. With Google maps it’s pretty easy to navigate.

El hotel está en buenas condiciones, sin embargo la zona no me pareció segura. Estaba a unos 10 min el metro caminando pero definitivamente no me sentía segura al tener que caminar para llegar al metro. La ventaja es que esta de alguna manera cercano al metro pero no volvería a hospedarme por la zona.

This was our last few nights in Rome after being in some beautiful locations throughout southern Italy and in Rome itself so when our cab was bringing us further from the city center than we had been and into a more commercial feeling area we weren’t sure what we were in for- BUT! This hotel turned out to be a real gem! The interior of the hotel is really beautiful and the rooms were super clean and comfortable! The staff, especially Elmer, were all very helpful and welcoming. Once we figured out the subway stop right around the corner, we were anywhere in the city we wanted to be in 20 minutes. There is a really good but very busy cafe on the corner right down the street. A big bonus was that there is an airport shuttle bus stop just across the intersection from the hotel so this saved us a huge hassle getting to the airport at 6:30am.

This is a perfectly nice place to stay but it’s on a main road and far from any sights , not a pretty neighbourhood. It’s more like a B & B . Hotel staff very welcoming and had good suggestions.

Very heartwarming welcome, but no possibility to have breakfast. Nice, original rooms. All in all, a good stay (2nd time).

We liked its closeness to metro and bus stops. And the best “bar” Il gelato di tiramisu, where we had breakfast and gelati everyday! Also front desk service was outstanding!

we enjoyed our stay here wish there had been a breakfast and more balcony rooms but it’s an area for locals not like by the vatican so the prices are better

Me recomendaron esta opción y la acepté sin revisar la ubicación, para lo que yo tenía que visitar en Roma, la ubicación no me favoreció del todo y el hotel no cuenta con servicio de desayuno, lo cual complicó un poco nuestra estancia.
