This is a great location within blocks of the Colosseum. There was a plethora of dining options and availability for drinks. The only downside is we were on the terrace garden, which is essentially on the rooftop and it was four flights of stairs Every time you had to come in and come out. Also, the tub/shower we had was very high up in order to get into it, which was not convenient. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. FYI don’t lose the key!

Small hotel unique hotel and clean, room was small but with a nice old style to it, bathroom could have been bigger, there was a stocked mini bar, 2 good restraunts right by the hotel and more around the block, colosseum a couple blocks away, street aree could be cleaner, still a nice little place to stay.

This is a very nice hotel which is located about two blocks from the Colosseum. Our room was beautiful. It was well appointed and spacious for European standards.The area has nice restaurants. And the breakfast at the hotel was great. If you’re looking for a place to stay down in this area, you can’t go wrong with this hotel. One word of advice if you would like an airport shuttle, be sure to contact them well in advance. However, the express train into Roma termini provides a pretty easy access to the hotel either by walking if you don’t have too much luggage or taxi if you do.

The hotel had amazing finishing, art and historic preservation. I believe I saw that the building is on the historic register. The rooftop terraces are amazing. Great views, beautifully maintained - with garden and other decoration. A really peaceful spot up there. The owner /operator was friendly and helpful. We plan to go back next time we visit Rome.

Following recent trip to Rome, this hotel is in an excellent location near the Colosseum and 20min walk from Rome's main terminal train station. Big Bus tour is also 5min walk to stop and that gets you all around Rome City (Hop On/Off) Hotel is is in lovely condition, mosaic floors and wall art everywhere (really cool). Room was excellent with AirCon and great powerful shower. When I go back to Rome, I will most certainly say here again. Loved it.

We had a wonderful stay. I can’t say enough nice things. The gentlemen at the front were very nice and helpful. We left our luggage prior to check in and it was all in our rooms when we came back. The decor was beautiful and interesting. Rooftop was amazing and we used it often!

Awesome boutique hotel with on-site friendly and helpful owners. In an authentic area with a mix of locals and tourists. The outdoor terrace was spectacular. We cannot wait to visit again.

Celio displays a plaque proclaiming it one of the "Small Charming Hotels of Italy." While the decor in the public areas is charming (if dark), the operative word is SMALL, and it is more like a B&B. The halls & breakfast room are beautifully decorated w/mosaic floors & fabulous chandeliers. But the rooms are miniscule, dark, & shabby. Our "double room" might be fine w/one bed, but w/2 twin beds crammed in, there wasn't room to open our suitcases on the floor. I had to open mine on the bed and close it when I went to sleep. Our travel companions' quad rm should have been a double. Our sheets had holes in them, & the beds were hard. The rooms were chilly. The carpet was faded & needed cleaning. The bathrm and shower were clean but miniscule. The small space and dim lighting produced an oppressive, claustrophobic feeling. The rave reviews were misleading; many say how nice the owners are, when in fact, they had sour faces & looked put-out when we needed anything. The prices were like a fine hotel, but the experience was like a B&B, which should be priced lower. They served a continental breakfast, which was fine but not in the same league as the abundant buffets at our other hotels. Once my son got no croissant bcs "someone else had two" earlier. The hotel is not accessible, w/stairs to the front door, no elevator, & no space for a wheelchair (or overweight person) to maneuver. We planned to stay 3 nights but left after 2, bcs we couldn't bear the dim, cramped space any more.

There were cockroaches on the bathroom. My wife had an early commitment and the entrance was locked, she tried looking for someone but there was no one visible. Finally one guy was sleeping in one room with the door open and she woke him up by knocking the door. He finally woke up and got the door open. She ended up loosing her Florence train.

We enjoyed the hotel SO much! The staff was lovely and the hotel is within walking distace to the colosseum, multiple restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is cute, clean and eclectic. I would definitely return!

Comme nous restions 6 nuits, nous avons été surclassés dans une chambre exceptionnelle. Le personnel est accueillant et serviable, la propreté est impeccable. L'hôtel est idéalement situé, à proximité du Colisée et du Forum.

I would never consider this place family friendly. We are a family of 4 and the room we had reserved made it seem as though it was. A queen bed with two cots on either side had been set up and absolutely no where to even more around. The bathroom was like a bathroom in a camper. Also was not crazy about the location/neighborhood. No parking. And my 5 year old got yelled at when he stood up on the couch in the waiting area while we were waiting for my husband to bring the car to load re-load all of our luggage.

Das Zimmer hatte nur 1 Steckdose. Es war eng, das Fenster gleich über einem Bett, weswegen wir in der Nacht nicht lüften konnten. Auch der Teppichboden war nicht so toll. Die Dusche war sehr gut und das Frühstück ok.

The property was amazing very clean and staff friendly. Walking only 200ft to coliseum and lots of restaurants and cafe near by and grocery store.The hop off hop on bus stop is right there as well. The rooms were very clean and neat. This is the perfect place to stay to visit Rome.

It was a very nice hotel but they had four people in one room with no fan or air conditioner unless asked, and even when asked sometimes wasn’t on. It is in a great location and a very clean hotel with beautiful furnishings

Hôtel situé à proximité immédiate du Colisée. Nombreuses commodités dans la rue (Carrefour Market 24/24 et 7/7, Métro Colosseo à 5min à pieds. Personnel très accueillant et très gentil. Propreté irréprochable. Nous étions 4 (2 adultes et 2 jeunes enfants). On regrette seulement la taille de la salle de bain qui peut paraître étroite et la déco mais ça, c'est subjectif. Je recommande cet établissement sans aucune hésitation ! Très bien !

Fabulous hotel, very funky decor and very comfortable. Staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast was a treat every morning. Walkable to all the sights and restaurants. Because we were in the heart of everything and go to bed early you can hear the people on the street in the wee hours of the morning. We were in amazing room, which was situation at the back of the Hotel that backed onto the street behind the hotel.

The hotel was just beautiful in the perfect location steps from the Colosseum. Staff was extremely friendly. The room was a bit small but I was expecting that. It is beautiful. Definitely recommend you staying there.

Nice property. Within waking distance of several historical sites. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are small in European fashion but nicely decorated. Very quaint.

It was a very nice hotel but they had four people in one room with no fan or air conditioner unless asked, and even when asked sometimes wasn’t on. It is in a great location and a very clean hotel with beautiful furnishings

Following recent trip to Rome, this hotel is in an excellent location near the Colosseum and 20min walk from Rome's main terminal train station. Big Bus tour is also 5min walk to stop and that gets you all around Rome City (Hop On/Off) Hotel is is in lovely condition, mosaic floors and wall art everywhere (really cool). Room was excellent with AirCon and great powerful shower. When I go back to Rome, I will most certainly say here again. Loved it.

Celio displays a plaque proclaiming it one of the "Small Charming Hotels of Italy." While the decor in the public areas is charming (if dark), the operative word is SMALL, and it is more like a B&B. The halls & breakfast room are beautifully decorated w/mosaic floors & fabulous chandeliers. But the rooms are miniscule, dark, & shabby. Our "double room" might be fine w/one bed, but w/2 twin beds crammed in, there wasn't room to open our suitcases on the floor. I had to open mine on the bed and close it when I went to sleep. Our travel companions' quad rm should have been a double. Our sheets had holes in them, & the beds were hard. The rooms were chilly. The carpet was faded & needed cleaning. The bathrm and shower were clean but miniscule. The small space and dim lighting produced an oppressive, claustrophobic feeling. The rave reviews were misleading; many say how nice the owners are, when in fact, they had sour faces & looked put-out when we needed anything. The prices were like a fine hotel, but the experience was like a B&B, which should be priced lower. They served a continental breakfast, which was fine but not in the same league as the abundant buffets at our other hotels. Once my son got no croissant bcs "someone else had two" earlier. There were cockroaches on the bathroom. My wife had an early commitment and the entrance was locked, she tried looking for someone but there was no one visible. Finally one guy was sleeping in one room with the door open and she woke him up by knocking the door. He finally woke up and got the door open. She ended up loosing her Florence train.

This is a great location within blocks of the Colosseum. There was a plethora of dining options and availability for drinks. The only downside is we were on the terrace garden, which is essentially on the rooftop and it was four flights of stairs Every time you had to come in and come out. Also, the tub/shower we had was very high up in order to get into it, which was not convenient. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. FYI don’t lose the key!

Hotel Celio was just a fabulous place for my wife and myself and also for our daughter and grandchildren. Breakfast was just what was needed to start the day walking around Rome. Close to almost every important tourist sight we enjoyed the walks into the the historic city. The staff was always ready to help in any way necessary. Our rooms were well furnished and comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay. I can’t say enough nice things. The gentlemen at the front were very nice and helpful. We left our luggage prior to check in and it was all in our rooms when we came back. The decor was beautiful and interesting. Rooftop was amazing and we used it often!

Celio displays a plaque proclaiming it one of the "Small Charming Hotels of Italy." While the decor in the public areas is charming (if dark), the operative word is SMALL, and it is more like a B&B. This is a family owned and run hotel. They provided us with not only excellent facilities but the service was way above and beyond. We mistakenly left items in our rooms safe and the owner Richard went out of his way to get them back to us after we left. Highly recommend their hotel and will definable stay there again if we make it back to Rome.

This is a very nice hotel which is located about two blocks from the Colosseum. Our room was beautiful. It was well appointed and spacious for European standards.The area has nice restaurants. And the breakfast at the hotel was great. If you’re looking for a place to stay down in this area, you can’t go wrong with this hotel. One word of advice if you would like an airport shuttle, be sure to contact them well in advance. However, the express train into Roma termini provides a pretty easy access to the hotel either by walking if you don’t have too much luggage or taxi if you do.

The property was amazing very clean and staff friendly. Walking only 200ft to coliseum and lots of restaurants and cafe near by and grocery store.The hop off hop on bus stop is right there as well. The rooms were very clean and neat. This is the perfect place to stay to visit Rome.

Hôtel situé à proximité immédiate du Colisée. Nombreuses commodités dans la rue (Carrefour Market 24/24 et 7/7, Métro Colosseo à 5min à pieds. Personnel très accueillant et très gentil. Propreté irréprochable. Nous étions 4 (2 adultes et 2 jeunes enfants). On regrette seulement la taille de la salle de bain qui peut paraître étroite et la déco mais ça, c'est subjectif. Je recommande cet établissement sans aucune hésitation ! Très bien !

Fabulous hotel, very funky decor and very comfortable. Staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast was a treat every morning. Walkable to all the sights and restaurants. Because we were in the heart of everything and go to bed early you can hear the people on the street in the wee hours of the morning. We were in amazing room, which was situation at the back of the Hotel that backed onto the street behind the hotel.

Excellent location for most of the central attractions in Rome as most of them are walkable. Hotel is really clean and the mosaics on the floors and walls are stunning. This was our second stay at this hotel and would defo consider it again for whenever we go back. The hotel owners as generally onsite who are super friendly, and keen to help with any questions and local advice as well.

This gem of a hotel is right by the Colosseum and Roman Forum but doesn’t feel touristy. Lots of quality restaurants nearby, from small take away pizza to Michelin star Aroma. We were never disappointed. Our room was lovely on the first floor. We never heard street noises and just a little bit of hallway sounds. The morning breakfast was a nice treat to start the day in a quaint basement area. We loved all the art, mosaic tiles in the flooring, and helpful staff. Only thing of note is that you cannot control the air conditioning from the room, which some days we wished we could from being out in the hot weather all day. Otherwise, a great hotel in a favorable location. oseum

We are so happy we booked here. The staff was so helpful and always happy to see us. The rooms are a bit small but they are clean, well maintained, and cozy. We loved being so close to the Collesseum and the metro. We had no problems getting anywhere fast and without needing a taxi or tour. We traveled with an infant and always felt safe and cared for. And again, the staff is seriously the best!!
