Hotel Genio

One of the main reasons I picked this hotel is that the description says it has a gym. It doesn’t have a gym and hasn’t for a couple of years. I always stay at hotels with fitness centers. This was a major disappointment. However, the breakfast spread was very good.

The furniture in our room was broken. There was no gym as advertised on the Expedia website. Our room was very small and crowded. There was a terrible smell coming out of the bathroom. We were only given one key and the only way to lock the room was with it, I did not feel safe leaving someone in the room with the door locked, it’s a fire hazard. I called Expedia immediately and spent a lot of time trying to try to switch and because I prepaid I am still trying to get my refund .

A infraestrutura é precária e muito antiga. Diferente da propaganda, o hotel não possui academia; do mesmo modo, o bar não funciona (só existe o espaço dele). O espaço do banheiro para tomar banho é minúsculo. O atendimento e a localização são excelentes, mas existem outras opções que oferecem isso e ainda entregam estrutura mais nova, de melhor qualidade, e pelo mesmo preço. Apesar de divulgado como 4 estrelas, ele deixou de merecer esse rótulo há décadas. No máximo, duas estrelas. Péssimo custo-benefício, considerando a existência de outras opções no mesmo local.

Hotel molto datato camera e bagno da 2 stelle con unico interuttore che accendi e spegni tutte le luci.Manca la scheda per accensione e inoltre ascensore vecchissima con porta che fa rumore occorre ristrutturare.Alla reception Antonio perdona gentile e anche la colazione alquanto buona.Caffe e cappuccino alla macchinetta.

Breakfast is included. It had a sitting room downstairs. Neat & clean. The room had no window in bathroom and the light was so high above the sink you couldn't see to shave or put on makeup. Shower was a little small for men. Hotel needs a little updating. The view from the rood was spectacular.

Location is perfect (1 minute walk from Piazza Navona), staff very friendly and helpful and the property has an amazing roof top patio that has nice sights over the city.

walkable diatance to almost all Rome attractions, pleasant rooftop with nice view, kind staff, little small elevator, good price in February, possible to storage your baggage before check in.

The location is perfect, the staff extremely helpful and the rooftop space a lovely private sunset drinks surprise.

Great Spot close to everything but far enough away to avoid the crowds of tourists. Wonderful roof top terrace with a 360 degree view of Rome! In need of a little paint and polish but clean, and good value!

Personale gentilissimo, ma pulizia non buona

I felt a bit unsafe with only a wobbly key lock on my door and no fob for the front door but the front desk staff are there 24hours a day and ensure no one enters who isn’t checked in. House keeping does a good job. There is no dust and everything is clean. It’s an old building though that needs upgrading. Bedroom wallpaper was peeling and had a mildew smell. The bidet had a sink faucet and the sink had a bidet faucet!

Fantastisk beliggenhed og super service fra personalet. ❤️ Især badeværelset var meget slidt, men rent og pænt. Kedelig morgenmad, men god kaffe!

The property was not well maintained. The first room we stayed in had ants comimg out of the bath tub, sink and wall. We asked to move and they sent someone to "clean" the ants which was a sysphian task as there is defintely a colony in the wall. Ultimately on day two we asked to be moved again and they agreed. There was one light switch to control your room. The tub we had had grime and rust over the jets. The cleaning services did there best but you are renting a room that has not had appropiate maintenance or remodeling. The second room we stayed in was much improved which would have been hard not to as we moved from a room with bugs to a still semi-functional, poor motel room. Again one light switch for the main room and one for the bath. This room had only a shower but still had peeling wall paper. There was no air conditioner in the second room and the refrigerator does not work - our infant\'s milk spoiled. There were holes in the door to the bathroom. While staff were friendly and breakfast was adequate, we have stayed in cheap motels that were better maintained and offerred more than this "four star" hotel. To add insult to injury, cancellation fees would have been for two nights totaling more than 700 Euros. Please stay somewhere else in Rome. The location is not worth cleaning ants off your clothes and the poor quality.

Good central position for visiting tourist sites of Rome. Clean rooms even though a bit 'tired' looking. Staff friendly and helpful.

Muy malo ! Sucio ! No andaba la ducha !!! No abría la caja fuerte ! Y tenían personal ahí y no pudieron resolverlo ! Me fui a otro hotel ! No quisieron devolverme nada ! Desastre !!! No lo recomiendo !!!! In English !!! Very bad! Dirty! The shower didn't work!!! Wouldn't open the safe! And they have staff there and they can't figure it out! I went to another hotel! They didn't want to give me anything back! Disaster !!! I do not recommend it!!!!

All the personel at the hotel were fantastic. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is old and all the furniture is old, but it is clean and the location is great. It makes you feel nostalgic about the past. It is located near every important site in Rome. The price of the room is very good. I recommend this hotel for everybody that don t want to spend to much money and want to be near the center of Rome in a clean and safe place. I think it was a good choice.

Definitely very nice and clean Hotel and has a very beautiful old decor with the vintage and boutique look . Very friendly staff. Very nice top floor breakfast room.

Das Hotel ist sehe gut gelegen und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig erreichbar. Das Hotelpersonal war immer sehr nett. An quasi jeder Ecke findet sich ein Restaurant oder eine Bar, sodass man was dies angeht eine große Auswahl hat. Unser Zimmer war recht klein, hat für ein verlängertes Wochenende aber absolut ausgereicht. Leider war das Zimmer sehr hellhörig, sowohl zu den Nachbarzimmern als auch zur Straße hin. Im Badezimmer war die Dusche etwas undicht und die Toilettenspülung war eher schwach und nach einmal spülen leer gelaufen, sodass erst nach ca 10 Minuten wieder richtig gespült werden konnte. Dies haben wir eher als unangenehm empfunden. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, es gab aber ausnahmslos jeden Tag das gleiche kleine Angebot. An sich nicht verkehrt, wer aber gerne Abwechslung hat, wird hier nicht zufrieden sein. Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt okay, ich würde dieses Hotel jedoch nicht noch einmal wählen.

Merita un soggiorno è in un punto strategico comodo sia a piedi che mezzi pubblici e taxi poi un terrazzo panoramico con una vista mozzafiato …. Il primo impatto è stato dell’ arredamento datato nell’entrata ma come camera accogliente e un bagno grande e pulito ….. tornerò in questo hotel

Ein Stadthotel dass durchwegs in Ordnung ist==> wenn man ein Zimmer in die Innenseite des Hause haut. Sonst starker Strassenlärm (Verkehr) , da nur einglasige Scheiben. Mit Oropax war es auszuhalten

Needs some upgrades. Bed was extremely hard and pillows were paper thin. Doors aren’t sound proof so we heard people walking in hallways and going into their rooms. It sounded like they were in the room with us! Room and public areas are clean. Centrally located and staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Sehr gutes Hotel, relativ große Zimmer, sehr freundliches Personal, und ausgezeichnete Lage. Alles Wichtige kann zu Fuß erreicht werden, in max. 30 Minuten. Beim Frühstück kommt es zwischen 8 und 9 zu Engpässen—das Personal, so sehr es sich auch bemüht, ist mit dem Ansturm überfordert und die Chancen, dass man einen Kaffee bekommt, sind 50:50. Frühstücksbuffet ist auch übersichtlich, aber wer nicht viel frühstückt, dem kann es egal sein. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen!

Great location, decent room, but AC needs improvement The hotel is very well located, and the room (and bathroom) was just right for three people. Breakfast was good – the eggs were tasty and the watermelon was delicious! The reason I didn’t give it 4 stars is because it was extremely hot during our stay, and the air conditioning didn’t work properly. With the heat wave, it was really necessary, and unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to keep the room comfortable.

The hotel was located conveniently and within walking distance of many tourist locations. Our room faced the main street so was very noisy when the window was open. The room was clean and comfortable; however, the mattress on the bed was not very comfortable. Have never ate such hard bread and buns as at the continental breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Esta foi a terceira vez que ficamos no Hotel Gênio, sempre pela excelente localização, perto da Piazza Navona. O hotel é antigo e com decoração datada, o que é comum no centro histórico de Roma mas nas visitas anteriores sempre foi confortável. Desta vez, no entanto, o conforto do quarto ficou prejudicado. O hotel desligou o ar-condicionado, permitindo apenas ligar ou desligar o aquecedor, e não havia ventilador disponível. Como viajamos no início de novembro e Roma não estava tão fria, o quarto ficou muito quente e desconfortável. Nas duas estadias anteriores, no inverno, não sentimos esse problema, talvez porque o frio externo compensava. Não sei se é uma nova política do hotel, mas considero extremamente desagradável que o hóspede não possa controlar a temperatura do próprio quarto.

La experiencia ha sido estupenda, el hotel muy bonito y la habitacion muy acogedora ,aunque los muebles un poco antiguos, estaria bien que pusieran una cama de matrimonio en vez de dos individuales juntas. Por lo demas todo genial, el desayuno estupendo, el personal muy simpatico y con disposicion a ayudar siempre que lo necesitaramos.

La forza di questo hotel è il personale, soprattutto quello alla reception: gentile, competente e veloce; anche lo staff in sala colazioni è molto gentile. L’hotel è datato e potrebbe sicuramente beneficiare di qualche ristrutturazione (soprattutto nelle camere), però a quel punto per un 4 stelle in una posizione così spettacolare i prezzi sarebbero ben altri. A conti fatti, considerando il rapporto qualità prezzo, posizione e servizi, è sicuramente un ottima soluzione.

Hotellet ligger perfekt med gångavstånd till hela centrala Rom.

Hôtel très bien situé entre le centre de Rome et le Vatican. Personnel très pro! Déco de l’hôtel un peu surannée par contre… Rafraîchir l’hôtel le mettrait au top des hôtels romains, quitte à augmenter ses prix

Bien situé, hôtel propre et calme. Personnel aux petits soins et pleins de petits restaurants autour. Petit déjeuner sur terrasse toit, vue panoramique ville. Je recommande

Rigtig fin beliggenhed. Søde og flinke receptionister. God og effektiv værelsesrengøring. Syrlig dame ved morgenmad serveringen. Morgenmad yderst ringe (ufatteligt tørt brød, alt for overkogte æg, for lidt frugt).
