This hotel is lovely and the staff was very nice. It's very convenient to the restaurants and shopping. They have a free shuttle to the cruise ship port which was very convenient.

Hotel was nice, parking was the only issue if you didn’t street park by the time the spots filled up you would end up walking a good distance. Not cool if you had lots of things to carry.

The hotel is nice and the location is outstanding. It is easy to walk to the Alaska Sealife Center and to all of the downtown shops and restaurants, plus the shuttle picks up in front of the Sealife Center if you want to go anywhere else. The parking was free but there is no lot at the hotel - street parking near the hotel is available plus two small lots down the block. Parking was not an issue during my stay.

Stayed 2 nights at end of Aug/beginning of Sept 2024 (Labor Day weekend). Hotel is in great location and is nicer than I expected, with a pleasant lobby & balconies from 2nd & 3rd floors looking over the lobby. Be sure to ask for a room above the ground level. We were given a room right next to the lobby. We could hear all the comings & goings at the entrance. Our room was also very hot despite the heat being off. There was an air conditioner but it was coated in dust so we didn’t want to turn it on. We didn’t want to open the window because our room was right next to the sidewalk, with people passing by (not noisy but too close). The staff said they’d pass on the temperature & AC issues but didn’t offer any solution while we were there (such as vacuuming the AC?!). The hotel is in a very scenic & convenient spot at the far end of town near the Sealife Center, with easy walk to restaurants, shops, etc. There’s a buffet breakfast but it’s $18 and we preferred the nearby cafes. The hotel offers a pick-up service from the train station, which was very helpful. I recommend this place but try to avoid a room on the ground floor.

On both nights I had to call the front desk and request that they ask people hanging out in the lobby to quiet down without success. Also, Upon arrival, the bathroom tub had hair in it, there was small hair on the pillow cases and a long hair on the sheet. Disgusting!!

Although we called a day ahead of our arrival to secure a shuttle from the train station, none came and we were left in the pouring rain to wait ½ hour for the free city shuttle. We called the hotel and no one answered. When we did arrive at the hotel, there was no one st the desk.The room was clean but there were collections of dirt caught in dust in the corners in the tiny bathroom. We were only offered a small bar of soap in the shower. At our final walk through to check for misplaced belongings, we found a nice pair of shoes behind the curtains near the corner that werent ours! We opted not to pay $20 for the breakfast buffet that was usual fare included at hotels charging half the price per night. The young man at the desk was busy on his phone when we had questions. We stayed at the Edgewater in 2015 and had a much different experience. It may have been near the end of the season, but we felt as though we were overlooked.

The hotel is a pretty good option to stay in seward, they had breakfast to buy option, easy accessible restaurants on the street....and port for kenai and marine tours just at 1.2 miles...location of hotel is perfect...we had a good 2 nighg stay here, except missed the window in the room, there was no window in our room

Just don’t. I’ve never written a bad review but I feel like I have to warn others. We had an interior room (no window). It was very loud and we could hear everything from the atrium lobby, rooms on the side and below us. That’s okay though because as soon as we turned on the air conditioner we couldn’t hear anything over the loud screechy noise it made. We had to turn that off because nobody was going to sleep with that awful sound. The room had a ceiling fan which wasn’t well fastened to the ceiling (my grandson was terrified that it was going to fall) that wasn’t balanced so it had a clicking noise but that was also okay because it wouldn’t stay on. About every 5 minutes the fan shut off and the light would come on….with no one touching anything. It was super stuffy in the room so nobody got a good night sleep. My grandson thought the bed was so uncomfortable that he opted to sleep on the floor. To top it off, at about 1AM we decided to just watch a movie since no one was sleeping and the TV didn’t work. The front desk guy said that they have been having challenges with the cable since early June and about half the tv’s in the hotel don’t work. No way would I recommend this place. The front desk guys were nice but there’s nothing they could do to make this okay.

Hotel Edgewater was a great place to stay right across from Resurrection Bay. We had a room with a view of the bay. We were able to walk across the street one night to watch the Aurora over the bay and mountains. The manager and employees were super nice and helpful. I highly recommend Hotel Edgewater!!

The location was the very best thing about the hotel. Staff was very helpful and provided great recommendations. Room was on the bay side so we had great views of Ressurection Bay. Room was a little sparse and the bathroom was tiny. Hotel a little pricy for my taste.

Really surprised by the guest rating on this because we had an excellent stay. Prime location in Seward walkable to many shops and restaurants. The hotel and rooms were modern and clean. We stayed in a “windowless” room which I thought would make me feel claustrophobic, but there was a window, it just went to the hallway. It felt like a normal room without a view. We could easily step outside our room and have access to a window that overlooked the gorgeous bay. Coming in with those expectations, I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay here again.

I would figure for `$323 a night you would at least get a window, a shower that didn't point at a wall and more than just a few tv channels. Guarantee I'll be looking for a better value while staying in Seward.

We have an amazing stay. We have a beautiful ocean view room facing the beautiful Resurrection Bay. The bed was so comfortable we don’t want to get up in the morning. The front desk staff was so helpful and accommodating.

Overall, the staff were fantastic! The manager was excellent! If I have one negative is that the price for the breakfast was overpriced for what we got.

It’s noticeable that the Hotel Edgewater recently received a coat of paint & a new lobby. Impressions change though when you open the door to your room. We had booked two and neither had a window, nor did the ac or tv working properly. Oddly, the big tv in the lobby worked fine…Go see Manager Jose and you’ll quickly learn that he has no solutions, lots of excuses and a large along dose of apathy. He’ll then go hide in his back office. (I did see him later in his shift out for an ice cream on the town with a couple of his friends). Jose did though help me understand that I’m from the lower 48 and made the poor choice of booking thru Expedia, but, “Hey, this is Alaska”, which should be taken to mean that a 2 star here is a 5 star anywhere else, so be happy with it. The staff, other than Jose, are doing their best, so like the ‘49s of the gold rush, leave your bag of gold at the front desk as you head out for your cruise, because this is as good as it gets around these parts.

I reserved 2 nights thru Expedia and the only had a reservation for one. I showed them a copy of the Expedia confirmation and they said they could not honor it. They had a room for at almost 2x the cost. Not sure who I should be more pissed at, Edgewater or Expedia.

The check in process was very slow and took a long time! The hotel was nice and most areas were very clean. We booked a room late and our options were limited. We had a double regular bed room and it was apparently not used often. All the dirty linen carts were parked outside of our room.

Although we called a day ahead of our arrival to secure a shuttle from the train station, none came and we were left in the pouring rain to wait ½ hour for the free city shuttle. We called the hotel and no one answered. When we did arrive at the hotel, there was no one st the desk.The room was clean but there were collections of dirt caught in dust in the corners in the tiny bathroom. We were only offered a small bar of soap in the shower. At our final walk through to check for misplaced belongings, we found a nice pair of shoes behind the curtains near the corner that werent ours! We opted not to pay $20 for the breakfast buffet that was usual fare included at hotels charging half the price per night. The young man at the desk was busy on his phone when we had questions. We stayed at the Edgewater in 2015 and had a much different experience. It may have been near the end of the season, but we felt as though we were overlooked.

This hotel is located within walking distance of most amenities in Seward. The property itself is very clean and comfortable. It is located close to the water and we were able to walk for shopping and meals.

Modern and clean not run down and tiring looking like most Alaska properties. Very convenient location to restaurants and attractions, on a nice day ! Breakfast buffet is available if you choose to do so but we went to a grocery store and stock up the fridge and itemize microwave they provided . Very impressive for what Seward has to offer.

Nickel and dime specialist. 18.95 for a continental breakfast. No coffee in the lobby. TV in Lobby is on ESPN with no volume or remote to change channel. I asked for remote and they said they don’t have one might as well hang a picture of something there instead. As we were checking out other guests complaining of add ons on there bill. Just be upfront on charges everyone is on vacation here and hate being nickel and dimed. Then at 8am housecleaning is knocking on my door asking me when am I checking out. Poor hotel choice find another place.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, perfectly located, had excellent shower water pressure, and plenty of clean towels. And the staff was friendly, pleasant, and well informed. I would give an excellent rating except for breakfast. The first day we ate yogurt and fruit for free, and saw no signs about breakfast NOT being included. The second day we selected eggs and sausage, and were told AFTER we were seated with our food that we needed a breakfast voucher which was available at the front desk. The voucher cost $19.95!! Totally NOT worth that price! When I investigated further, I found a 2x4 inch text box in the center of a 4 foot sign that stated a Full breakfast was available for $19.95. Seemed a bit shady.

This property was almost perfect for our needs. We loved sitting on our balcony at night, looking out at the bay. The only disappointing thing was having to pay almost $20 per person for breakfast, which consisted of the same thing we had at our free continental breakfast in Anchorage. The breakfast was not worth the money, so we went out to eat instead.

Property had a room access problem due to microsoft upgrade. Additionally, most hotels have a free breakfast. This one cost 18.00 fir very little. I considered this poor public relations and limited in quality. They would di better not to have it at all.

The heat was broke so the temperature stayed around 80. You need to walk down 2 blocks to park in a designated. We were told we would be ticketed if we parked in the street. Breakfast is very expensive and not included.

We loved the view!! Disappointed no TV reception. They said IT was working on it, but we had 3 days there and it was frustrating. No Kleenex. Windows were so filthy we couldn’t see the view. I scrubbed them. Parking is very limited at this place. And the $23 buffet breakfast was just a normal breakfast you get free at other motels with this price.

Cannot recommend. We were traveling with two other couples and everyone slept horribly. Our room did not have air conditioning or a ceiling fan (true for many rooms in the hotel) so we figured we would sleep with the window open. Unfortunately during summer, it stays light out to near midnight so it was like trying to sleep with the overhead lights on. Plus, the noise from the RV park across the street was persistent, so we closed the window. The bed was extremely soft, so we would both roll into the middle. The sink top was big enough to hold a water cup and two toothbrushes and that was it. The desk staff was indifferent/uninterested which was very unusual in this town where everyone was so friendly. Breakfast is not included in the room rate so you have the option of paying $24 pp. we opted not to. Worst hotel, by far, of our week’s trip to Alaska.
