Fairfield Inn Saint Louis Collinsville

Great location and the ONLY reason it gets two stars is the staff. We checked in (30 minutes early) and we're given a room on the 3rd floor. it was my wife and I and two kids (12 and 8) and the room was a king and a fold out couch. My reservation clearly stated two queens.....I went back downstairs (because the phone in the room didn't work) and they quickly and apologetically fixed the problem and we got two queens. The lady at the front who checked us in and fixed the problem was really great about it and she even made sure to put us in a room that was right next to where we were originally put, so that it wasn't a difficult task to move our stuff from one room to another. We were informed that "the storm from 4 weeks ago" knocked out the cable so we couldn't watch live TV but we could just log into our Netflix or Hulu etc and watch that. However, we were here for a baseball the tournament and there were players staying in hotels next to us who didn't have this problem. (And according to other reviews this is an ongoing problem). We didn't have a TV remote and when I got one from the front desk, it still wouldn't let us log into anything. Only thing the remote would do was adjust the volume and switch sources. No way to find/bring up and subscription service like Netflix or hulu. And also the pool was closed for maintenance (again, according to other reviews this has been a 3+ month issue) the elevator was a bit sketchy and the inspection was well past due.

Took my 13 year old daughter to her first concert. I Had hoped to give her a memorable trip with a nice room , breakfast and swim. Staff was friendly, The room it’s self the Toilet would hardly flush, very little water pressure in the shower, pool has been down quite sometime after reading other reviews as well , body wash and shampoo empty in the shower. 1 of the 2 beds were dirty. only had cereal and juice for breakfast at 8:26 am . I’ve typically stay with Hilton but decided to try Marriott this tome. My mistake I should have known better a stuck with Hilton.

Pool closed and no breakfast when it was still within breakfast time. Room was dirty and smelled. Elevators license is expired.

Satisfactory hotel. Stayed with my daughter for a dance convention across the street. This hotel can use some major updating. The carpet was stained and the furniture was VERY worn. The pool was not very clean. Our beds had clean sheets, the bathroom was clean and the fridge was cold. So it worked for our stay. The complimentary breakfast was a nice plus but it was not very good. The bananas were black and the eggs and sausage tasted like plastic. I have had many other stays with similar breakfasts offered that were by far better. I would not stay here again.

The one sliding front door was partly off track. A box with a large screen tv and a luggage cart was loaded with odds and ends parked right in front of the front desk( it was still there when we left and came back 40 minutes later). The pool had a sign that it needed maintenance. The room on the third floor had cobwebs in two corners( at least the rest of the room was clean). The actual room door seemed to be missing part of the doorframe and you could see right to the hallway. I also noticed the elevator inspection paper was from a year ago. Thankfully I was able to sleep.

Requested a king room, placed in a 2 queen bed room on the 2nd floor. Asked to be changed to what we requested, put in a king executive room on the 3rd floor. All fine except the elevator was broken.

Pool was closed. Air conditioning didn’t work but she moved us to a different room and was friendly and accommodating.

Hotel was nice and clean. But was not told pool was out of order till my kids wanted to swim and found out. If I would of known I would of booked somewhere else

The hotel was a very good value. Breakfast was fine/typical (although it sounds like they are trying to add a couple new options to breakfast-mini quiche and egg soufflés), room was ok. It looks like they may have recently renovated a bit-carpet looked fresh and new. I was fine with the comfort of the bed, but my husband, not so much. He thought the bed was low and not enough support. The room was pretty clean. I thought the bathroom could’ve had a little more attention. Hard water stains in shower, dental floss left on a ledge in shower and exhaust fan needed a good cleaning/dusted. Though I find with lots of hotels/restaurants I visit, dirty fans stick out to me. All establishments need to do better at cleaning fans/exhaust units, etc… A big shout out to all the staff we encountered! I’m sure these ladies make little money, but made the trip most enjoyable with their friendly smiles and small talk. Very pleasant gals we met at check in/out and during coffee/breakfast time!

A pleasant stay. The room was perfectly clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was simple but had a good variety. While the bathroom wasn't perfectly spotless, it was acceptable. Overall, a good value.

The room was musty and smelled terrible, dirty and mouse trap in room.

Easy to find right off the interstate. Check in was smooth. Our room was an example of a place needing reno'd. Furniture dinged up and worn, at least 10 noticable stains in the carpet. The chair in the corner had a rip on one arm. I expected better than this from a Marriott property. At this price, well north of $100 not impressed at all

There is no air conditioning in the room. The thermostat on the wall did not work. The unit under the window was blowing air, but it was not cooling the room.

My husband and I thought the bed was uncomfortable-too soft.

Service was great, but the rooms were outdated.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful as we had a car problem they helped solve. Our room was clean - it’s roadside so some noise.

Arrived to a friendly desk person and was easily checked in. Soon found out the cable for TV was not working...for SEVERAL WEEKS! Since the night before I stayed at the nearby Comfort Inn and all was great, was sadly disappointed. Asked several others who were staying at other nearby hotels and all had cable. Understanding that cable does go out occasionally, cant understand how management would allow this to continue, literally for WEEKS. I also must say the maintenance and cleanliness was disappointing; not filthy but clearly lacking in daily upkeep. Also no daily housekeeping and no notice of that. Was I at a Fairfield? hmmmm..... Overall, this was like being in a mediocre Motel 6, not a Marriott property. Clear that management simply doesn't care about return customers as I will never return.

Carpet was ripped and dirty. TV did not work. Pillows were very hard. Bed was overall uncomfortable. Lots of noise coming from other rooms even at late hours.

Everything was great-the one thing that could be improved is that the mattress had soft spots on the sides so I had to sleep in the middle-fine this time since I was traveling alone, but these foam mattresses really suck when they get older.

The only negative was that the tv cable wasn’t working and the breakfast was mediocre compared to other Fairfield hotels. For example there was no cream cheese for the bagels, no cereals, no eggs, and no sausages.

Friendliest staff!!! Clean rooms! Great location to convention center & nearby restaurants!

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful as we had a car problem they helped solve. Our room was clean - it’s roadside so some noise.

The hotel cancelled the reservation wirhout a phobe call, an hour before i arrived after a 5 hour drive. The absolute worst hotel experience in my life. Will not ever go with this hotel again.

This Fairfield was on fire. Not in a bad way. They were super helpful and pointed us in the right direction with any and all questions. The front desk definitely slayed it. We will stay here in the future!!!! P.S. Dance parents. This is in short walking distance to the convention center.

Nice place to stop while you’re on the road. It’s not far off the interstate and restaurants close by. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room and bed were comfy.

Loved this property for our stay in the St. Louis area. Close to dining options. Amie at the front desk provided excellent service at check in.

This property is probably the best choice for those attending events at the Gateway Convention Center. It is clean, safe and well maintained and the clientele seem well behaved. Unfortunately the nearby restaurants are mediocre at best. The quality of the breakfast is not as good as other comparable hotels even within the same chain. The orange juice was the high point. The eggs and sausage were barely warm and there was no oatmeal. Coffee wasn't very good. When I saw the same situation on the second day I went to Waffle House and paid for a better breakfast. Also, the pandemic is over and it's time to reinstate daily maid service, especially fresh towels and empty the wastebasket.

I liked the stay… the breakfast left much to be desired, limited options and no meat for the meal.

Nice, clean hotel. The breakfast was yummy but by 7:30am there was no more sausage and the juice options were minimal. Also when I checked in I asked for a cot or something similar and I was told that this location didn’t have them. The next day when I was leaving the hospitality staff had a room next to the elevator open and I could see a cot in that room. I feel that for the money that I spent on this room that the front desk attendant should have tried a bit harder to accommodate us. Also, I wish I would have known that the pool was closed for repairs.

The folks in the hotel were wonderful staff did a great job Check-in was smooth but continental breakfast I might as well have just skipped it The sausage was under cooked do you know look pleasant the biscuits were good but cold the gravy was cold or lukewarm

Place is clean and quiet. The only downside is the breakfast meal, not enough food left shortly after 8AM, not even waffle😏 and there's more people coming for breakfast.

The hotel is a quiet and generally clean spot to stay. However the carpet in the room I stayed needs changing and breakfast supplies ran out for several days while there.
