Econo Lodge Cullman South

It was okay. Bed wasn’t that comfy, but get what you pay for. Beds were also really small. Breakfast was decent - cereal, biscuits to heat up and gravy, bread, and mini muffins. We were limited in where we could stay due to pet.

We had our dog with us and the fee for him was very reasonable. Friendly staff, comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again if through Cullman.

Everything about our stay was great, but the room had a very strange smell to it. I have no idea what the smell was, but even the citrus spray designed to cover odors and a wax warmer weren't enough to defeat it. Other than that, everything was great. The property was easy to find, the man at the front was very friendly, the room was clean and in excellent condition other than the smell, and parking was a breeze. Overall a great value.

When you stay at Econo Lodge, it can be a crap-shoot, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. This one was a win. We only stayed one night, but checkin was fine, room was better than expected, breakfast was a little slim, but ok. I have had several stays at Econo Lodge that I was unhappy with, this was NOT one of them! Good Job!

Super clean and comfortable. Well lit at night. Desk personnel were very nice and had a great attitude. The bed was amazing! You will not regret staying here!!

Typical older property, clean but floors poorly done in vinyl plank. Reserved a room several days earlier, got there 15 minutes before check in @ 4:00 and was told the lower rooms were gone already was my only complaint...

The property is old. It has been repaired and repainted. It still shows its age. It is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. We stay here each time we come this way and need a place to stay. It’s a decent place at a great price!!

Roaches, not the outside kind either. It’s obvious that the housekeeping staff is very lazy. There were stuff all over the walls that could have been cleaned off. There was stuff on the mirror and very old soap scum on the bathroom walls.

Staff was friendly. Rooms are clean but need updating. Which I think they in the middle of doing.

The floor was very dirty. Seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. The whole floor was covered in glitter. The towels had lost their whiteness. The room smelled strongly of dampness. The renovation was quite old. Unfortunately, it’s absolutely not worth the money…

This appears to be an older hotel that has been renovated. The room was nice and clean except for some stray hairs in the bathtub. That kind of worries me because it makes me wonder did they actually clean the bathtub? However, I didn’t see any evidence anywhere of grime or dirt. The room is large and the bed is fairly comfortable. The floors aren’t carpeted which I like because I consider carpets germ catchers. Amenities are very minimal, actually two bars of soap and that’s it. It’s pretty noisy. You can clearly hear people walking upstairs. The sheets were very crisp and smelled very clean. Like maybe they have been washed with a little bleach. All in all, I was pleased with my stay it is great for situation such as mine where I just needed a place to sleep for the night. Check-in was great with a very friendly and professional attendant. I will come back again.

Not clean, not in good condition at all. Wanted to stay close to Rock The South but it wasn’t worth the $900 I payed. Sheets had cigarette burn holes, ceiling above shower was falling apart, fan in bathroom was falling off the wall. Room 110 was awful, couldn’t imagine the rest of them….YUCK

Definitely get what you pay for. Staff was very friendly for the most part and there was only one roach in the room so not too bad for the price.

I guess this place is ok if you enjoy sleeping on the floor, because I’ve never we had such a stiff bed. The floor wasn’t very cle, and the tv had to be programmed by me.

This hotel was clean with soft beds and great WiFi. My only complaint is that the bathroom lights made a lot of noise while it was on.

Great sleeping, two chairs to be comfortable in before bed. Also microwave and good sized refrigerator. Big desk and handicapped bathroom if you need it. Big tv, cable and decent WiFi. Need to remodel the bathroom and some rugs to warm up the main room would be nice. Breakfast basic

The room was pretty clean but in poor condition. The paint was peeling down to the sheet rock in the bathroom. There were poorly patched holes in the walls. Cigarette burns on the blankets. The gentleman at the front desks was friendly.

Needs update big time. Shower leaks, air conditioner was super loud and when it wasn't running it sounded like a rain storm outside. Beds were hard. We didn't want to spend$ on hotel, you get what you pay for, just saying.

The property was extremely outdated, and while that can oftentimes be overlooked, the condition of the room was deplorable. Dirt, rust, falling ceiling in the shower, old bedding and towels, entry door that didn’t close properly, just to name a few items needing repairs.

Definitely has had a remodel. Breakfast was good. Some of the staff was rude at 7am questioning what room I was in and telling me to turn in my key cards to check out. Check out is at 11am. We were locked out of the room at 10am the key cards had quit working. Didn't even make it 5 steps fr the door at 10:30 before staff was in the room without asking if I was finished getting our stuff out before check out. Next time I will spend the $10 more and get a room on Hwy 157 in Cullman.

The clerk at the office offered to help with my bags to second floor. I am 69 and both hips replaced and that was a great bonus offer! They also made bed and took out trash nightly. Not many hotels do this anymore! I was a visiting fisherman and it was a perfect set up location for me!

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the location was close to food and entertainment. I would definitely use this hotel again.

In fairness, we didn’t eat breakfast. We arrived late in the evening and left in the morning. VERY accommodating. Spotlessly clean. You could tell recently painted. Older dated building, however good repair. Was greeted by a cheerful, helpful Gary. I would stay again! 😄 Many thanks

Went for one overnight trip for Christmas hotel was great service was great. Everyone was friendly, but do not bank on the continental breakfast pleasing your group. It was very limited but for the price of the room for one night I cannot complain about having to buy breakfast.

Standard motel. Not nice and bad service at check in. Couldnt find the Expedia reservation lol.

Quite and safe. Applebee's down a mile and gas station is a short walk. Room was nice and clean

For the price it was a nice place to stay! The motel was an older motel with the rooms being updated a little with some paint chipping mainly in the bathroom but it wouldn’t an issue to me! I was a little worried about location being behind a truck stop close to interstate but I had no issues! And the man at the front desk was extremely polite and answered any questions I had! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!

Older properly. Not in a great neighborhood. But close to waffle house ! Staff were great. Did a good job cleaning the room.

It was what I should’ve expected for the price. Difficult to find due to being hidden behind the area Waffle House, with signage that wasn’t too clear where to turn. Bland facilities but appeared clean. Check in went well and was friendly. Checked out early so didn’t take advantage of free breakfast but appeared the be typical continental fare.

Comfortable bed. Ground floor with door directly to parking. Expedia misled us. We and other patrons were told complete hot breakfast. Very limited breakfast. Only toast and coffee was hot. No tea bags. No fruit. Not worth the price paid.

Got what we paid for. Water damage to ceiling above shower in bathroom. Breakfast was one of the poorer ones I've ever had in hotels where it is included.

Breakfast was not very good. Biscuits and gravy (gravy was coagulated). They had bread to make toast. I ate Frosted Flakes. The gentleman that checked me in and out was nice. Could not understand another staff member. Kids running on the 2nd floor balcony and playing , shouting, around 1130 pm made it difficult to go to sleep. Truck squealing tires around midnight in the parking lot. Guys hanging out in stairwells smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages. Some of this is parenting issues of visitors, some is staff because could see if they made rounds periodically outside the main entrance area. The room was clean, no funky odors. Bed was comfortable, when the noise settled down after midnight, rest was appropriate. I would not discount staying here in the future, I would have a better idea of what to expect at breakfast (would not expect much), the issue with the noisy kids could possibly be a one client issue, the squealing tires are basically out of management hands if it was just a single occurrence. Management could do better to keep the stairs clear of the smokers and drinkers at night time. If I do stay in the future (cost was reasonable) and better environment exist, I will repost an update.

We arrived a little after 3pm on our way to Indiana from Florida. We were visiting a church in another town. We stayed for a night. It was clean and cool and comfortable slept well. Had dinner at Applebees which was a mile or so away. Had breakfast there at Econo Lodge very filling. Biscuit and Gravy, mini muffins, dry cereal 3 choices cold milk, toast, apple and orange juice and hot coffee. Hit the road by 9:30am. We were very satisfied.
