The staffs was nice. What they didn't tell guest is they lockup the the front door and front desk area at night. They ask guests to use building side door in and out. That indicates the hotel area isn't safe. The room was not clean. The TV remote control wasn't working.

Property is run down. Exterior door to enter the hallways was unsecured - latch completely broken and no lock. Room itself was decent. Bed comfortable and seemed clean. Bathroom ok. Key to room door did not work well. Lot of noise from highway, but with fan from a/c unit on, it did not keep us awake. Not much else nearby except large truck stop.

Beds were very uncomfortable & sides must be made of steel as extremely stiff so feels like your on a roll to the center of the bed. Couple issues with the room, my husband notified front desk so we weren't be blamed for destruction if property. Such as scrapped-up wall, arm of chair cover ripped off & toilet all wobbly like it was going to fall over. Stated free breakfast, no breakfast provided, office locked up tight at 7am, no employees. Had to leave door key in the room. Pictures of pool in the line-up for photos of the hotel, but not listed in the amenities. I called the hotel & spoke to receptionist who said it's not open that's why it's not listed in the amenities. However, we looked at the pool. It's disgusting, not in use for quite sometime now. Probably never will be again under this management grouo. Should have tge pool pictures on the website removed, very misleading. Overall, dissatisfied and wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

It's a fine place if you are looking for somewhere to lay a weary head while traveling. I didn't feel particularly safe having the outer door fully accessible to the outside. You didn't even need a key to enter the property!

Hank the manager was so very accommodating! We got there sooner than expected and he was able to give us early check in. Also I didn’t realize the place didn’t have an elevator and since we are both handicapped and unable to climb stairs he was able to give us a first floor room. It’s an older motel type property and could use some updating, but our room was clean the bed was comfortable enough and that’s really all we needed. Thanks again to Hank for being so accommodating!!

The couple running this hotel are really nice and very welcoming. The hotel is clean and the bed was really comfortable. Driving distance from downtown Memphis is good. The down side is the pool was closed and looked like it had been for a while and it was quite noisy with road traffic but overall we had no major complaints.

I am not sure why but there was Poo on the floor in my mother's bathroom. The air conditioner had this loud rattle every time it came on. After a while it became very irritating, so we just turned it off for a while.

In the area there was very poor street lighting and had pot holes over the roads . It was difficult to see them at night . I would not recommend staying there if someone was planning to go to the casino there. It was hard to figure out how to cross over to the other side of the interstate. Beds were clean but bathroom had hair in the tub and hotel had a bad oder .

The room had obviously been updated and was clean and comfortable with very nice decor. Hotel was a bit tricky to find when using Google maps- turn before the Luv's gas station and loop around.

The bathroom had mice droppings behind it too nasty to take a picture and it smells in the hallway. They knocked on the door starting at ten o’clock and check out is 11am. They aren’t friendly with the customers. The first and last time!

The staff were nice enough; however, there was mold in our shower curtain, the lamp flickered when we tried to turn it on, the mini fridge in the room did not work, and we had to use the emergency exits in order to leave the building when the lobby was closed because they locked the doors.

Hotel is very clean on the outside as well as the inside! The manger and his wife are very nice and helpful.. My room is very spacious and clean! Everything looks very updated and the beds are comfortable! Highly recommend if you need a nice quite comfortable place to stay and if I ever come back this way I will stay again!

The young lady at the front desk was so nice. My room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel is by the interstate so you can hear the traffic but it was more like white noise and didn’t keep me awake. Parking lot was well lit.

Property dated. Bathroom door was creaky. Wifi was very slow and cuts off all the time and you have to enter password constantly. Behind the building was were all the semis park so very noisy at all times. Owner called my room to basically kick me out when check out was 11am and it wasn't even 10:30 yet. Very annoying.

The hotel is good, clean and not too far from down town Memphis. The only thing I did not like is that your window is right on the hwy so no stoping semis traffic all night long. I would recommend the hotel if that is ok with you

Excellent check in. Room was spacious and very comfortable. It had a very comfortable couch with 2 ottomans. Bed was one of the most comfortable beds we ever slept in.

My husband accidentally left his Apple Watch when we left. We called the hotel and Nick said that he found the watch on the floor of our room. Because we were already 4 hours away we asked Nick if he would send it to us if we sent a prepaid postage box. He was so honest and helpful and we were so happy to get the watch back. Thanks Nick. American Inn is lucky to have such great personnel.

Manager at front desk was rude when I asked for extra time at check out( 20 minutes). My fiancé was getting ready and needed more time to get dress. He had a mean attitude with me and gave me 10 minutes instead. The worst.

Hotel is very clean on the outside as well as the inside! The manger and his wife are very nice and helpful.. My room is very spacious and clean! Everything looks very updated and the beds are comfortable! Highly recommend if you need a nice quite comfortable place to stay and if I ever come back this way I will stay again!

We were staying to go to the Bass Pro Shop, it was only a 10 minute drive. Very convenient and not an expensive hotel.

In the area there was very poor street lighting and had pot holes over the roads . It was difficult to see them at night . I would not recommend staying there if someone was planning to go to the casino there. It was hard to figure out how to cross over to the other side of the interstate. Beds were clean but bathroom had hair in the tub and hotel had a bad oder .

This was an easy place to stay close to Downtown Memphis. Nothing special, but GREAT for the price. Clean, comfortable bed, a little.bit of freeway noise, but not anything that kept me awake.

The room had obviously been updated and was clean and comfortable with very nice decor. Hotel was a bit tricky to find when using Google maps- turn before the Luv's gas station and loop around.

Property manager was great but the property was a little sketchy. Truck stops surroud it so its a little noisy. Dont know about the safety of the area?

The hotel is good, clean and not too far from down town Memphis. The only thing I did not like is that your window is right on the hwy so no stoping semis traffic all night long. I would recommend the hotel if that is ok with you

Overall, it was a good value for the money. It was close to the highway when you need to stop for the night on a road trip. The hotel itself is clean and the staff is kind, it’s just on an exit with several truckstops, so it’s not particularly scenic. Great place to get a clean safe night stay.

It was a last minute check in. I was only here for one night ..The host was great. The room came with a microwave and fridge which i didnt know that was a plus. The hotel is surrounded by resturants another plus ..beds was confortable and room was clean. Staff was very friendly

Beds were very uncomfortable & sides must be made of steel as extremely stiff so feels like your on a roll to the center of the bed. Couple issues with the room, my husband notified front desk so we weren't be blamed for destruction if property. Such as scrapped-up wall, arm of chair cover ripped off & toilet all wobbly like it was going to fall over. Stated free breakfast, no breakfast provided, office locked up tight at 7am, no employees. Had to leave door key in the room. Pictures of pool in the line-up for photos of the hotel, but not listed in the amenities. I called the hotel & spoke to receptionist who said it's not open that's why it's not listed in the amenities. However, we looked at the pool. It's disgusting, not in use for quite sometime now. Probably never will be again under this management grouo. Should have tge pool pictures on the website removed, very misleading. Overall, dissatisfied and wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

The service was great! A nice size room and the beds were comfortable. Interior hallways made it really quiet and we were near an entryway. Right next to Flying J who has a Denny's and conventional truck stop fare.

I will start off by saying, the front staff, they were so kind. They were helpful with the blinds, because I didn't see how to work them. However, I was going to take a bath after a long day of travel and moving, and there was a dingy/rust colored drainage in the tub. I took off my shoes, and when checking the beds, as I do in any hotel, there was a leak of water coming from the wet wall, and into the carpet. I stepped in it in my socks, and that was extra off putting. I woke up feeling sick, as though there was mold in the air. I had booked a room with two beds, and my guess, is this room should have been listed as out of operation, but we may have been the "lucky" last ones to walk through the door for that type of room.

Our room was disgusting. The ceiling was falling in and water was dripping in our bathroom from the room above. They said they had no other room to provide. The temperature setting on the AC was also broke so you couldn’t adjust the temp so we froze all night but it was too hot in the hotel to turn it off completely. Then we had to wait 20 minutes to check out because nobody would come to the front. Definitely don’t waste your money.

When I informed the lady at the front desk about my room not being clean she showed no concern what so ever. Stains on the blanket, microwave was nasty, the refrigerator was nasty.
