Microtel Inn & Suites Modesto

This was a perfectly adequate place for a couple of days stay. Nothing inspiring, but I’d stay there again. The pool is small, but was good for cooling off in the Central Valley heat.

We had a very nice one-week stay. Very clean and mostly quiet facility, on service road near the freeway. Our accessible room was laid out so there was plenty of space to move around the bed, and lots of room in the bathroom. The A/C unit was easy to understand, effective and relatively quiet. In-room WiFi and streaming were easy to use. The small swimming pool and Jacuzzi is tidy and easy to access, although it was a closed for maintenance 2 days of our stay. Sadly, the only water jets in the Jacuzzi that had enough force for massage were at ankle level. This area appears to have nearly every possible fast food chain, as well as a few more interesting choices. For finer, more nutritious food you need to go to surrounding towns like Turlock or Modesto. A couple of concerns for the bathroom: a shelf placed next to sink was not firmly rooted in the wall, so its slant made it likely that items would fall off, not much could go on it, and placement of a tissue dispenser right above it made it also likely that items would be knocked over or off the shelf. Second, there was no non-slippery coating or friction strips in the tub to prevent slipping, especially with soapy water or conditioner.

It wasn’t the greatest. The room had a dingy smell. The pool was small and the jets in the hot tub didn’t work.

I enjoyed my stay thanks to the courteous and helpful staff, the cleanliness of my room and especially the bedding. The big bonus was the gym. But it could use an upgrade. Some of the equipment didn't work.

The parking needs to be more safe.

Upon pulling into the parking lot, i was met with what appeared to be a maintained hotel. When entering the lobby, the decor and overall setup looked well maintained. The service received from the check in agent was friendly. She went out of her way to ensure we were well informed of their protocols and how to access certain locations on property. Now, everything went down hill from here. Upon entering the suite, i immediately wanted to leave. The room smelled old, dusty and definitely needed some fresh air. The ac was extremely dirty which made me more uncomfortable breathing the air coming from it. The carpet appeared to be worn down though technically not dirty (depending on your definition). The bathroom was plainly disgusting. There was literally a fresh ring of dirt around the tub. The shower head was beyond needing to be replaced. The amount of calcium buildup was deplorable and right down unacceptable. The only nice and clean thing in the suite we had was the mirror. Lastly, the bed. Technically the mattress was comfortable. The linen appeared to be cleaned and there were no signs of bugs of any sort. That said however, because the rest of the room was extremely lacking, i ended up sleeping in my clothes and on top of all the bedding. This was not an enjoyable experience. This includes the dirty elevator used to get to our room and the hallway (esthetics). I did not complain while there for a few reasons. Top reason being, you get what you pay for.

Property was a bit loud when we arrived and noticed our room had not been cleaned thoroughly. Blood droplets on tub, hair around edge of toilet bowel and large area of wiped up blood on bathroom floor. Appeared room had only received cleaning a service to sleeping area and no attention was given bathroom area.

I love the cleanliness and how new everything felt. It had everything we needed and we would definitely use it again if we were in the area. The staff was very friendly and check in was quick. We liked the convenience of the breakfast.

The room was standard and clean. However, the walls are very thin. Between the stompers upstairs and the next room having a loud session of bump and grind at 2:00am, it was frustrating. Except for the noise it was a nice place.

The hotel is a little old and outdated

I was very pleasantly surprised with the size of the room considering what I paid. The bed was comfortable and there was a "living room area" that I wasn't expecting with a couch and coffee table as well as with a kitchenette. The girls at check-in and check-out were very nice.

This is a great value hotel. Room was clean, a bit small but I think thats the idea with the"Micro hotel"brand. But for the size, it had a desk, microwave, small fridge, an armoire to.hang.clothes, and a cool window bench with seating pad and a few drawers underneath.Bathroom was good too. Breakfast was simple, cereal, packaged sweat rolls, juice, coffee, yogurt, and a hot pancake maker. And a small eating area. The pool and jacuzzi were great, jacuzzi jets didn't work but still a nice hot soak after a long drive or day at work. Overall, highly recommend, especially for the price.

Conveniently next to Hwy 99 and my destination. Modern architecture. Clean. Easy parking. Did not like the limited space in room, including almost no counter space in bathroom, no closet, and minimal continental breakfast.

The reason I didn’t sleep well. I didn’t know it was next to freeway and train area. The train woke me up both nights. It viibrated the bed and I was unable to get my rest.

Clean, had water bottle refilling station, convenient. Wi-fi not pw protected and very weak, your own phone hot spot works better . In part of the neighborhood right next to railroad tracks - several homeless . however property itself very clean and neat.

The hotel was good, nothing spectacular but good for 1 or 2 nights stay. The room and bathroom were clean. The room was small but decent for 2 people. The staff were friendly, able to check in early with no issues, they were accommodating. The walls were a little thin but it was no big deal for me. The hotel was in a decent area, no one hanging on the outside of inside the gated area. Reasonable priced. It was close to the fruit yard amphitheater, 15 min by Lyft. I would stay there again if need be or if I went to another concert.

The Ceres Microtel was a fine enough place to stay. It was a good price and close to where we needed to go. The room seemed a little small, but it wasn't crowded, so that was fine. The water pressure in the shower was wonky, but not terrible. The person who checked us in was amazing. The biggest problem was that we had requested and were granted a late checkout, but the morning staff the day we left bothered us 2x about it. Not acceptable!

Everything was great. Staff helped me fix a name error on my reservation. Easy check in & out. Super convenient parking. Will definitely be staying here again next time I’m in the area.

I stayed at Microtel Jan 12 and was disappointed with the service at the front desk. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful, which made check-in uncomfortable. While the hotel itself was nice, the staff's attitude really affected my experience. I hope they can improve customer service in the future.

I arived a little oast 9pm. I stood outside in a lobby area for about 15 min. No one showed up. Anither person staying at the hotel let me into the lobby. At the desk i waited another 10 min no one came to help, had no bell to ring. Ended up calling the phone number took over 10 rings finally someone came to help. The room was not clean. The couch had stains and cereal was all over my floor. My room which was wheelchair accessible shower was a complete nightmare. I am able to stand to shower but due to the seat on the tub i had almost no room to turn or scrub. The fridge door would not open completely due to it scraping the carpet. The fridge was also all rusted and dirty. The ice bucket has seen its better days in the 80s. The plastic bucket was all bent as if someone placed it un the microwave. The breakfast was horrible. They had a gallon of costco milk out for everyone to touuch and pour. All they had was cold cereal and an automatic pancake machine which made tiny 2 inch pancakes. I have pictures but was unable to upload.

The girl checking us in didn't seem very organized and gave us a room that was still being cleaned. Had to go get a new room. I thought by pre-checking in online that check in would be easy and quick but that really wasn't the case. Also, our TV in our room said "Welcome xxxx" the name on the room wasn't even us, it was some random person so not sure what that was about?

The hotel was by my wedding venue. The Help desk was outstanding. The rooms wer kept clean and spacious

Horrible experience. Our non-smoking room smelled like cigarettes. The bathroom wall had licking water from the ceiling that ran down the wall to the light switch. Lots of mold on the floor and walls. I requested another room and the front desk girl was not able to accommodate us. I had to call expedia and explained my horrible experience in order to get my money back. After being on the phone with expedia, I got the approval to get a refund. The front desk girl never apologized for the inconvenience as she seemed bothered for me complaining. I had to load all my luggage back in the car as it was late at night with my tired kids and had to look for another hotel. Worse experience ever!!!

Excellent bargain hotel. Easy check in and very quiet. Close to a bunch of restaurants.

A little run down but clean and up to date room. It was adequate for the few days we were there visiting family. Service was good. No noise from other guests. The train track and highway made noise through the night, but did not disturb our rest. Pretty good overall.

This property was clean and quiet (the HVAC was noticeable like most hotels, though). The continental breakfast was decent. We didn’t use the pool but it looked like it would be refreshing on these hot days.

The room was sufficiently clean and comfortable, but had two big problems. The A/C was very noisy and woke me up several times as it came on and off during the night. The "breakfast" had no protein -- not even eggs or peanut butter. I had to go buy a real breakfast elsewhere. Having a breakfast included was one of my main requirements. The hotel should either provide a real breakfast or stop claiming to have one.

Very clean and comfortable room with a nice pool and amenities. They have a pancake making machine what was very interesting and make decent pancakes. I do with there were more fruit options with breakfast.

The room presentation was somewhat fair, and as you walk in you start to notice all the defects, when you prepare for bed the blankets not only looked old, but felt very scratchy as if they were donated from the thrift store. I went to ask the front receptionist for another mattress for our pullout bed because it had blood stains and what appeared like saliva or mucus stains, her response was, "ya that's all we got, seriously I'm sure these pullout beds/sofas are as old as when the hotel building was first built." I then asked for a better blanket and she brought me another one just like the one I originally had. I then asked if she could find us a room with two beds and said that's all we have to accommodate you and your sister who's disabled, and as you requested the first floor. By than I was tired and done dealing with the horrible service. I took pictures of the rusted and over frozen freezer/refrigerator and the very uncomfortable pullout bed/sofa mattress. Oh, and the breakfast is not great either. I hope whoever stays at this hotel doesn't get the same room or service we received.

It was a very easy check in. Stayed here last year and enjoyed it again. Nice free breakfast, also.

We went there for very long, just passing through. It was busy there, coffee was pretty bad. Otherwise a good visit.

There was not much breakfast available during breakfast hours

I was glad that we stayed here. I had stayed here probably 20 years ago with my wife and daughter. It is clean, the a/c worked so well we had to turn it off a few times during the night, and the staff cleaned the room and replaced the towels and made the beds each night. The only complaint I had was the breakfast. There was really no hot food to talk about. It was one of the least pleasing I have ever had.

It is a nice little getaway right off the highway and near many businesses. The coffee machine in the lobby made really gross coffee, that is my only note.
