We loved our stay in Del Mar. The staff was kind and the breakfasts at the cafe were delicious. They allowed us to check in early and the view from our room was beautiful! A few cons: the pool heater was broken for the duration of our stay, the cafe was closed for dinner time, and it was a bit of a walk to get down to the actual “beach”. Overall, we would definitely stay here again, but with a rental car as Del Mar is not very walkable.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The pool, hot tub, sitting areas, cafe were all clean and well maintained. The staff is a hardworking group and very professional. It’s very close to beach as well. We would use this hotel again.

I was pleasantly surprised with this Best Western Premiere Hotel. It was cute and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It had a gym, a pool, a hot tub, a family room to gaher and talk, rest or play checkers. It had a cute little café on the premises and I had a great view of the ocean.

Loved the food at the snack bar, and it was very convenient to have that on site. The bed was super comfy, and everything was very clean. The people working there were all also really nice and friendly. Enjoyed the hot tub too!

First time at this hotel, close walk to beach is fantastic, room rates were great to, we got upgrade to patio , was a good surprise.Smelled a bit musty and was bit old was my first reaction, but rooms kept clean, and having a microwave and mini fridge was a super plus. The courtyard and pool area was peaceful, and enjoyed the fire pit.Overall we are making this our hotel go -to next time we go to Del Mar for mini vacation. Staff was very friendly and helpful..thanks staff for making us feel so welcomed....

We were truly impressed by how nice our room was. Bathroom and shower were especially luxurious. The staff were professional and friendly. We experienced a significant earthquake during our stay, yet all the furniture remained in place. I wish we could have enjoyed the property longer as it had a swimming pool, refreshments, and laundry room. There was also a small gym. Everything was super clean including the floors and elevator.

I discovered ants crawling around the nightstand and in the bathroom. They gave me a new room only to discover ants in that bathroom too. The cafe is really a snack shack that is only open in the morning. Great location for getting to Torrey Pines and the beach.

Property is in a good location. Cleaning is subpar, with hair on the wall of the shower and the refrigerator smelling badly of someone else’s leftovers. Very loud in terms of the cleaning staff shouting on the hallways and hearing doors opening and slamming shut. They need to invest in better sound proofing.

I liked the ocean view from my room. I liked the updated bathroom, especially the walk in shower. The staff was very friendly. The room itself could use a face lift, the carpet was stained and the furniture was dated. I liked the in room kitchen.

One of the worst stays I've ever booked on Expedia. The "suite" that I booked was right next to the elevator which made a loud vibrating noise all day throughout the entire stay. It was also next to the entrance to the hotel where you could hear everyone's conversations as if they were in your room and the ice machine! The hotel staff did not inform me of the location of the room when I checked in. Terrible!

I found the A/C - Heater unit to be over complicated. It would reset its temp at night or shut off all together. I Don't have time when I'm freezing at 2 am to get up and read a manual.

The staff is friendly. We like the location. Parking is $10, which is very affordable compared to other hotels in San Diego. We like the breakfast and 25% discount for Hotel.com. However, the "double" beds are too small; it's more like a twice bed. And the air conditioner is too loud and makes funny noises during the night.

The hotel was nice, everyone was friendly, the room and shared spaces were clean, and the cafe was great. Only complaint is that the walls were very thin and we could hear partiers late at night our first night and workers in the AM above us seemed to be replacing the floor?

Liked the room a lot. Clean, spacious, well equipped. The only issue was that either the wall or the door (connecting the nextdoor room) was NOT soundproof. I heard the closet door opening/closing and someone snoring during a night.

The rooms were very nice, and ours had a great ocean view with a balcony. The grounds were well kept, a very nice pool and a friendly staff. I would definitely would recommend this hotel.

I didn’t like a maintenance man busting into my room , and breaking the door jam off the wall. The door would not close after, thus making the room unsafe. There was ZERO reason for this maintenance person to enter my room. This needs to be addressed by the hotel manager.

It is close to the areas and activities that we enjoy in that area. Tried to check in early but was unable to do so. We wanted to leave our bags while we waited for a room to become available. There was no secure room to leave them. The a/c remote control was confusing...felt like you needed an engineering degree to figure it out and the room temp. was hard to control.

The front desk staff and operations team were so attentive and accommodating, they truly are thinking of the customer experience at this property. Our heater wasn't working and they promptly moved us into another room and treated us to breakfast. Thank you Tim for a great experience!

The room was lovely, the balcony was cute and we could see the ocean. The room and amenities were clean - the only issue, and sadly it was a big one, was that the fire alarm began malfunctioning and alerting “FIRE FIRE” every 30 minutes from 2am - 4am. It was so loud that the poor couple across the hall were awoken by it and came out to check on us. The front desk was very nice, and said to call back if it kept happening. Sadly, it did keep happening and they had to yank the device off the wall for the night. They apologized, however I wasn’t offered any type of compensation and unfortunately neither my husband nor I slept at all that entire night. I feel this was a bit of a misstep in customer experience. The check in staff were wonderful, very kind and helpful. All staff were very nice - I just was really exhausted the next morning and it would’ve been a nice opportunity for goodwill.

I did not get an upgrade despite me politely asking. I was told that because I book via Expedia they weren’t able to upgrade, even though I had received an upgrade last year. Unfriendly staff which made my stay stressful. Will not return.

Great location and the price was perfect! Just a 12 minute walk to restaurants and 15 walk to beach. You can also pick up the upper trail by train tracks just go directly behind baseball field and straight down towards ocean!

This is an excellent choice for a stay in Del Mar. The location is wonderful, the rooms are very nice and there is lots of free parking. To be clear, there was no free breakfast as noted above in this survey. We did eat at the café associated with the hotel however and the service, prices, and food quality were superb.

We always enjoy our stay at this hotel. Been several times. We were a little disappointed that we could not get beer or wine at the little cafe onsite. We used to be able to do so. We had to go to hotel bar next door.

Staff were friendly and obliging, hotel was clean. Had a very poor experience with the onsite cafe; it was shut, delayed for hours reopening and then I discovered the food was all frozen and microwaved. This is a really bad experience.

Our room, on the 2nd floor and in the middle of the property, was quiet. The room was spacious and quite lovely. I enjoyed a cup of mint tea in the morning in the in-room amenity. The cafe was convenient and delicious (not free). Veey clean faculties and all were friendly. We would stay here again and highly recommend.

Overall I enjoyed the location and the fact the ocean was very close and walking downtown was pretty easy. Some downsides are definitely the fact that the hallways are not air conditioned and neither is the elevator. Also one elevator for all three floors was not fun and it didn't work very well. It took forever to stop and open and you couldn't even see the numbers of what floor you were on. Also the jacuzzi was nice but a little too hot and a little too scuzzy looking, considering how nice the pool area was. Also the shower curtain bar in our room look like it had just been glued back on and it was about to fall any minute, and we had a handicapped shower so there was no lip on the shower and the whole floor got wet and was extremely slippery and I was really afraid we were going to fall. The little cafe was very convenient and we really enjoyed the pool itself and how clean the water was. Again it's a very convenient place and I love being able to view the ocean and the staff there was very helpful. We got there early and they still allowed us to use the pool area, the cafe & bathrooms and gave us a key. We are also able to leave our car there and walk down to have lunch. Her bed was very comfy and even though we face the pool we didn't hear any noise from the pool or the road. And overall the room looked really nice.
