L'Auberge Del Mar Resort and Spa

First, not a cheap hotel so maybe our expectations were high. So we chose March 17 in hopes of avoiding summer crowds. We go to the pool on this hot day and shortly after, no less than 5 kids (5 or 6 yr olds give or take) are unleashed into the pool. No school? The screaming, splashing and the noise. Then one gets a bloody nose and dad just hands him a napkin (while in the pool no less) while jr just keeps washing his nose in the pool water. I think the napkin eventually dissolved in the pool. Then the other rug rats proclaim they just peed in the pool. When did parents become so utterly clueless? Fine, skip the pool. I’ll go get a margarita instead. $26 + a surge charge and a small tip, $28 later. Good rita, but not that good. The kids weren’t necessarily the hotel’s fault, but the overpriced marg was, considering the abundance of bars and restaurants immediately around the property, their price gauging seemed over the top. Thanx, but never again. But hey, hope you enjoy your stay though. But leave your d**n kids at home and don’t buy drinks there. Go across the street.
