Best Western Escondido Hotel

Staff was helpful, friendly and polite. The Jacuzzi had very low pressure on the jets. Could hardly tell the jets were on.

It was a perfect cozy stay , affordable safe an secure, quiet, Friendly. There was a breakfast every morning which was nice Had a pool an spa which was relaxing Pet friendly And no there wasn't dog poo or a smell or even dogs barking all day, people who say that are liars for this hotel

Good service and fine room to stay in. Located right off the freeway, yet we couldn't hear the traffic in our room. Was able to take advantage of the laundry amities. Unfortunately, the pool was closed during our stay.

Arrived early and paid the $40 early check in - waste of money! Pool was very dirty - I had to skim it myself before my kids got in. The hot tub was also dirty and cold! After the pool, we went back to our room. A/C worked well and it was too cold for us. We turned the heat on to warm up - plastic burnt smell filled the room, fire alarm went off and our room phone did not work for us to call the front desk. After calling from our cell phone, we had someone come up to give us a new room. New room smelled of cigarettes! Another, smaller, room was offered. We took it since we needed to change from the pool still. Following morning, our room keys deactivated! This was a horrible experience and we would never stay at this location again. After issues had begun on day 1, I did ask if we could cancel our stay and I was willing to find another location. I was told since it was booked by Expedia, they could not issue any refund to our stay. Oh, and they do not off housekeeping! You need anything, you pick it up yourself from the front desk!

The jacuzzi didn't work very well. That was one of the things I went for.

Bedding is so soft and the bed is very comfy the stay was great I stayed 4 nights but wish I knew prior that the pool and spa were closed.

Clean suite with a dining table and counter. Nice pool and good breakfast. Adjacent to the 15 fwy. Be advised there are a number of homeless passing through the parking lot. Overall a good experience and we will stay there again.

Loved our stay here! Clean. Big rooms. Quiet. Great layout! Parking was close. Pool was clean, beautiful. Fantastic few days here!

I did not like that the pool closed at 9pm and there was no place for our group to spend time together.

The room was nice, overlooked the pool, fairly spacious. The pool was mostly clean, area wasn't bad other than the complete lack of places to walk your dogs. The elevator was 6 months overdue for its annual inspection, and was rickety and jerky. Breakfast was good with a decent selection, but there wasn't much seating, so you had to kind of snipe open tables or take it back to your room. They also didn't leave the spray for the wafflaler out, so most people wouldn't bother and everything would get stuck. You'd have to stop the person cooking to have them come out and spray it for you.

Everything was just dirty and it smelled like mold everywhere.

There were silverfish bugs in the bathtub each morning. What looked like blood on one side of one pillow. I didn't discover the blood until the last day.

Hotel is very clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

The property was very convenient and easily accessible. The staff was very friendly. However, our room was very old and quite dirty. There was hair left in the shower and the carpet was sticky.

The room I stayed in had the smell of sewer gas, the TV required a person to come in and reboot it, and the heater would not turn off to maintain a consistent temperature. I was given a new room on my 3rd day when the sewer gas smell occurred . That said, the breakfast was pretty good.

I am truly disgusted and disappointed with Best Western. The room was neat, but the carpet was dirty and sticky. We moved a chair to pull sofa bed out and there was a shoe and clothing from the previous person. During the night, my daughter woke me up because she had gotten bitten. Upon further investigation, we saw that we had bedbugs in sofa bed and on the bed. I killed about 10 bed bugs and called the front office, and they gave us another suite that was directly under ours. We took a photo, and googled it, and sure enough it was a bed bug. I took the bugs that I killed and showed it to the front desk as proof, and he immediately said that he would let the manager know and we would be contacted in the morning. Next day, we did not receive any contact from anyone. We did notice that they already had someone else in the room we were staying in the previous night. I finally had to ask for the manger Sunday morning and with a smile on her face i told her my concerns. (Still smiling) She was very dismissive and said without prove there was nothing she can do. Where was the prove that I gave the front office? She also told me she had Orkin come out and they checked the room thoroughly and they did not find any bugs. She also told me that they have dogs come in weekly to make sure that the rooms are cleaned. I am not sure how dogs can check the rooms to make sure they are clean!!!! We will never stay at a Best Western EVER AGAIN. Not even an apology!!!!!

Our entire two day stay was absolutely perfect. Access to the property is quick and close to the freeway, check in and out was smooth, room was spotless (particularly happy with the cleanliness of the bathroom and comfort of the towels), and breakfast was on point both mornings. Great experience overall.

Room had nasty chemical smell. I expected better.

Excellent room. Even had a small kitchen / dining area with a fridge and microwave. Couches were also nice. The tv was easy for us to hook up our Roku to. Plenty of towels. Free breakfast as well! If we’re ever back in Escondido I know where we’re staying

Overall, it was OK. The walls in the rooms were not well insulated. You could hear every conversation in the adjacent rooms.

CVS a few mins away.in case you forget toiletries, gas station directly across the street and restaurants a few miles away.I live locally and selected the Econdido location off El Norte Prkway bc I had an early shift the next day and it's a10min commute to work vs my usual 45 mins. Comparable to some of the hotels that charge $200+/night. Will return for sure.

Very rude front desk person with no respect to returning guest!!! Have stayed about 10 other best western hotels and this was worst experience ever

40 minutes till check-in time they want to still charge us $40. We had no time to change for the graduation at 5pm. We had to ware our clothes we had from our 8 hr flight to the event.

Staff (not even the cleaning staff. A random man.)entered the room, with the do not disturb sign hanging on the handle, and my wife in the room alone, without even knocking. No apology or act of concern from hotel staff when notified. Told “accidents happen”. Completely unacceptable.

Employee at check in was great!

I checked in the day before using their app provided via text message. Their app gave me the choice to check-in at 3pm, 3:30pm, 4pm, etc. So I chose 3pm. The next day I arrived at the hotel at 3pm. The desk clerk told me that check-in time is 4pm, I could pay an extra $40 for "early check-in" or come back at 4pm. They had plenty of empty rooms ready, by the way. So I paid the extra $40, and vowed to find other hotels in the future that do not bait-and-switch like this.

I called to see if we could check in a couple hours early and the person that answered said I called the wrong person that they only make reservations and just hung up. I would have been nice to be offered the correct number but at least dont act so bothered that I called the wrong department Then when I arrived the person at the desk didn’t want to be bothered. I’m a nice person if anyone one of them would have gave me a chance. This is my first bad review. Only because I had 2 issues. Normally I just let it go. Clearly they don’t care if the staff is rude. I’ll never go back.

Great place to stay, the staff was amazing, everyone was friendly, the room is clean and well laid out. Overall I would recommend this as one of my top future choices.

Our room was very nice and clean. Very spacious for a standard king room. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of variety. Easy to access this hotel from the freeway. We will definitely stay here again. Did not like that there were 3 or 4 homeless camps nearby.

Stayed here for our son's basketball tournament. It was actually nicer than I thought it would be. Rooms were clean (no bed bugs!), easy access to a nice pool and hot tub, easy parking and close to Starbucks, Vons, and the freeway. We were very happy with our stay.

Great location, adjacent to shops, restaurants, and freeway entrances. Clean and spacious room with adequate amenities, although there was a whiff of a funky smell when we first got in. Fortunately, the aroma of coffee we brewed inside the room overpowered the smell. The building is a bit outdated, but overall it was a good stay.

It's very convenient and close to where we wanted to be.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was amazing.

The breakfast was yucky. The eggs and sausage were not cooked enough. There are no locks on any of the outside doors so I didn’t feel safe because anyone can walk in. The extra door lock in the room was just an old fashion door chain. The sheets had stains. The coffee maker the cord was exposed and dangerous. The staff was very welcoming and friendly.

We stayed in a double queen room for the weekend and our stay was great. The facilities were clean and fairly well kept. There were vending machines available and there’s a gas station across the street. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fresh and well stocked and had good options.
