The staff were exceptional! We loved the attentiveness, the free underground parking, the beach chairs, boogie boards, and towels; and the proximity to numerous beaches and activities. Plus the beds were comfy. The hotel was a bit dated and you had to cross Highway 1 and walk down a steep couple of blocks to access the beach which wasn’t handicap accessible.

Just ok. The pool area was kind of dirty, with spit sunflower seeds and sand everywhere. The bed and bedding were comfy. The air conditioning is very loud and sometimes makes the lights go on and off. There were cords all over the room, which isn't very 3 year old friendly.. the door doesn't seem to block and outside noise which makes for a very loud night close to the freeway.. the continental breakfast was nice and all the staff was very friendly. The parking was horrible… very tight and limited. Someone hit and ran my car in the parking garage overnight.

So close to the beach and area was super walkable. Highly recommend! Only downside was having to street park as their garage was quite small and ran out of space.

Quick one night trip in this little seaside motel. The interior of the room was recently remodeled and very clean. Pool is quite tiny and only goes to 4 feet but cute and kept clean. Lots of Kerig coffee in the lobby and in your room, and basic free breakfast in lobby which was nice. Staff was all polite. No problems!

I honestly loved The Art Hotel! My room was excellent except for the jetted tub didn’t work, that’s actually why I chose this property! I was very disappointed once I got in the tub, I work really hard to save for these type of getaways. I just wanted to relax and soak, I have arthritis all over and it would’ve helped to have the tub working. The breakfast was good and simple and quick. The pool itself was dirty! And the parking structure could be a little cleaner, the trash was still there when we left as it was when we arrived. I would love to return to this property if all things where fixed!

Our room had been updated but the property overall needs a facelift. We upgraded to a king balcony room but the view was mostly of the rooftop of the building in front of it. It’s in a good location for walking to the beach but it’s loud because it right on the PCH. There is a pool but it was not clean. There is no gym or other property amenities other than the pool. They do have free parking. They offer a continental breakfast every day which consisted of fresh fruit, muffins and rolls, cereal and yogurt. The staff is friendly and helpful, even baking cookies for guests in the evening. We especially appreciated Patrick who was so welcoming and helpful throughout visit. This is a very basic motel and the price reflects that. If you’re not interested in spending more money for all the bells and whistles then this is the place for you.

We have stayed here before and really enjoyed it each time. It's a five minute walk to the beach.It's great. They offer a pool with pool, towels and they have all the beach stuff for you to use. Free underground parking. About 1 mile to the main beach. The free shuttle stops right in front of the hotel as well. The front desk workers are awesome! Everything was perfect with the room.We were on the first floor this time so we can hear all the kids running above us.But that's not the hotels fault. Nice continental breakfast, coffee all day long in the lobby, along with homemade cookies.

Very nice, updated hotel. Good location - a few minutes walk to the beach and Laguna Beach Shuttle. Shower was really nice. Really appreciated being provided complimentary beach towels, umbrella, and boogie board. Would definitely stay there again.

Front office staff was very kind and helpful at our check-in and although everything is a bit dated, the room was nice enough and clean. The property is being remodeled so there is a lot of noise (and some mess) all day long. Part of the parking garage and even driveway is taken up with construction as well as they were renovating several rooms. The pool heater not working, coffee maker at breakfast bar not working either.

Drew was exceptionally nice at the front desk. Bath had mold everywhere. Floor was never washed in the room or bath. Our feet were black walking around barefoot in the room. A woman’s long dark hairs were in the shower walls more than once. We both have light colored hair. It was disgusting to have to clean over the cleaner.

Hotel staff very friendly and accommodating. Location is nice. Only complaint is cleanliness of rooms. Our walls in room and bathroom were filthy. Had to take cold showers, there was not any hot water. The sink bowl in the bathroom was leaking from the base. Floors were dirty with marker all over. Could be a really cute hotel with some attention and better cleaning.

More like what I would think a motel 6 or 8 would be. Parking was easy, sheets were clean. I wouldn’t take my shoes off in the room or bathroom though, there was hair all over the bathroom, room was dirty. Overall property condition needs updating.

The staff here were wonderful and friendly, and that was the best part of the stay. The room was dirty, hair in the shower, and piles of dirt, dust, etc in every corner and the edge of the shower door. Surfaces didn’t look like they had been wiped, let alone sanitized. Super bummed.

Bed bugs or mites were in the bed, we were getting bitten all night and could hardly sleep, we literally got up at 5:30am and just left the hotel, it was miserable, I do not recommend!

Great location near Crescent Bay and Shaws Cove. Our room was super clean and it had a balcony with a distant view of the ocean - amazing considering the reasonable price. The staff was extremely friendly and invested in the guests.

Patrick at check in was wonderful, very helpful. We did have to wait because 4 parties arrived at 3:00 when check-in begins. Issues in room:1 towel rack fell of the wall, but it was replaced immediately. 2. Shower difficult to comprehend. There was a rain and regular shower, but it was impossible to shut off the rain. It was so dark in the shower you couldn't read the labels on the 3 bottles on the wall. 3. There was no way to turn on the TV.

Noisy. Paper thin walls, so could hear people in other rooms 24 hours a day. Could also hear staff walking about pushing trolleys. Breakfast not great. Easy to park.

The good things: clean room, comfortable king bed, plenty of drawer space, free underground parking, near a beach, cookies, buffet breakfast, pool area. The bad things: noisy room (road noise, footsteps above, thin walls, ice machine), TV did not work (fuzzy, small picture), not enough electrical outlets, slipshod renovation (poor paint job, missing electrical outlet covers, drawers would not stay shut), noisy air conditioner, no in-room safe or other place for valuables, far walk from town.

Staff members were great. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t speak to that. Our room had a tricky front door and a sliding door that was very difficult to open and close. AC did not work. Shower water was hit and miss. We enjoyed the room otherwise and the location was perfect for seeing the sights and people we were in town to see.

The room was beautiful with upscale furniture! Artwork from the area!. Close to The downtown area. A lot of choices for dog friendly restaurants. We were on the 1st story and you could see a little of the ocean. Very close to the beach we just walked from the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful & nice. They all loved my dog. There were biscuits in the lobby as well for her. We will be Back!

Great location near Crescent Bay and Shaws Cove. Our room was super clean and it had a balcony with a distant view of the ocean - amazing considering the reasonable price. The staff was extremely friendly and invested in the guests.

It was a reasonably priced hotel in a good location in Laguna. However, be warned that they do not have a night desk and I came back to my room late and discovered that my electronic key was not functioning and I had to call and wait in the cold for twenty minutes (after midnight) until the daytime desk manager came and let me in. They need to alert guests that their key can be compromised by keeping it in proximity to either credit cards with a chip or a cellphone which of course all of us carry in our pockets along with our hotel key. It was a bummer, but the people working there were friendly and good....just need some supervision I guess.

Unfortunately our check in experience was dreadful and that set the tone. Staff seemed to be in their own world, couldn't get anything to work right or figure out how to give us a room key. We later experienced a group waiting 20 minutes for anyone to even show up at the front desk.

Fabulous hotel, great staff , updated rooms , amazing service, delicious breakfast and fabulous location. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast which had Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, nuts , cheese omelette and organic high protein options.

I got a text confirming that we plan to stay the night. I confirmed, saying we'd get here around 2 AM. There was no return text. I called a number posted on the [closed] office door upon arrival, but it took 2 calls before I got an answer. Apparently, I was supposed to have a lock key code texted to me. The gentleman gave me the code, so we were able to get checked in. I was a little nervous about parking, as there was only valet parking available, but the gentleman told me we were fine being parked there.

The management of the hotel did not respond to a message that was left with the front desk to help resolve a booking issue. this resulted in loss of fund for the room and having to find alternate housing. I would not recommend staying at this location.

Staff were so nice and helpful, but I have to say Patrick is AWESOME!! I left one of my bags behind and he called to let me know and he went out of his way and mailed it to me. I appreciate him so much!! I can’t thank him enough this ment so much to me for him to take time out of his personal day to do this for me. Thanks again Patrick I so appreciate you so much and can’t wait for our next visit.

The front desk man was named Patrick and he was absolutely delightful. He acquainted us with the property and the surrounding restaurants and things to do. He was incredibly friendly and made the stay even better

Stayed here for a girl’s get away and was pleasantly surprised!! Quaint, clean, staff friendly. Only downfall was that the elevator was not working the day we left and the lobby area closes at 11pm so if you get back to hotel after 11:00 be prepared to take the stairs to your room as the only way to get the elevator is inside of the lobby. Aside from that would definitely stay here again!

The property is a motel about a 5 min walk to a beautiful beach. It is very close to a free city tram line that takes you along the coast to many of the Laguna beaches/shopping/dining. The hotel is nice. It’s clean and reasonably well kept with good amenities but it’s an older building.The rooms have been somewhat updated but they are clean and comfortable. The rooms are accessible from the street which we weren’t crazy about but we didn’t have any issues. Laguna seems quite safe but there is no security and unfortunately we had the displeasure of experiencing some random local with emotional issues who walked into the lobby and spewed nonsense and was hostile toward us while we checked in. Security is something that is required here as the hotel is easily accessible and anyone can really come off the street and walk onto the floors where the guest rooms were located. That said all of the staff is excellent, the rates are reasonable and it has a good location for exploring Laguna.

The staff were exceptional! We loved the attentiveness, the free underground parking, the beach chairs, boogie boards, and towels; and the proximity to numerous beaches and activities. Plus the beds were comfy. The hotel was a bit dated and you had to cross Highway 1 and walk down a steep couple of blocks to access the beach which wasn’t handicap accessible.

It is a nice hotel on the north side of Laguna beach. Away from the traffic and people. But still close enough to go downtown. Trolley available, but a few blocks away from hotel for pick up. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom very large.

A great, quick overnight stay. Convenient location to Laguna, clean room and nice parking. Traffic outside can get a little loud, but that’s to be expected considering its proximity to the main road. A short walk down to Crescent Bay Beach too.

Our room had been updated but the property overall needs a facelift. We upgraded to a king balcony room but the view was mostly of the rooftop of the building in front of it. It’s in a good location for walking to the beach but it’s loud because it right on the PCH. There is a pool but it was not clean. There is no gym or other property amenities other than the pool. They do have free parking. They offer a continental breakfast every day which consisted of fresh fruit, muffins and rolls, cereal and yogurt. The staff is friendly and helpful, even baking cookies for guests in the evening. We especially appreciated Patrick who was so welcoming and helpful throughout visit. This is a very basic motel and the price reflects that. If you’re not interested in spending more money for all the bells and whistles then this is the place for you.

We have stayed here before and really enjoyed it each time. It's a five minute walk to the beach.It's great. They offer a pool with pool, towels and they have all the beach stuff for you to use. Free underground parking. About 1 mile to the main beach. The free shuttle stops right in front of the hotel as well. The front desk workers are awesome! Everything was perfect with the room.We were on the first floor this time so we can hear all the kids running above us.But that's not the hotels fault. Nice continental breakfast, coffee all day long in the lobby, along with homemade cookies.

Convenient location as we could walk across the street to Crescent Bay Beach. Also hotel is close to Laguna Trolley. Breakfast items (bread, bagels, muffins, yogurt, cottage cheese, juices, coffee, and granola) were available. Had trouble getting housekeeping but staff provided fresh towels when requested. Parking included in room cost which is a plus. Towels, umbrellas and beach chairs are provided if going to the beach. Some of the perimeter areas could use some cleaning and/or repairs.

Overall, great two night stay. Only complaint: no hot water first morning. Only lukewarm between 10-11:30 am. Also, coffee maker did not function. Water heated but did not dispense. Reported issues and were told they would be addressed. Water was hot next morning but coffee maker still did not function. Luckily there was good coffee available at the morning continental breakfast bar. I’d stay again. Staff very nice.

Noisy. Paper thin walls, so could hear people in other rooms 24 hours a day. Could also hear staff walking about pushing trolleys. Breakfast not great. Easy to park.

The front-desk staff were great, very helpful. The continental breakfast was decent, plus afternoon popsicles ! The location is wonderful - a short walk down to Crescent Cove and Shaw's Cove, near the northern end of the free Laguna Beach Shuttle, and only a 30-min walk to the town center. The cleaning staff needs improvement. Our hair conditioner bottle was empty. The room was clean when we checked in, but room attendant jumped the gun and started cleaning our room before we checked out. We had a couple of roaches scurry across our room floor. It's an old building with some issues, but we like its funky, coastal vibe. This is our second time staying here and will be happy to return.
