They need to remove the picture of the pool! That is one main reason I booked with this hotel. THEY DO NOT HAVE A POOL!!! It's just a larger parking lot. They did have a small breakfast offering, not much to choose from but better than Motel 6. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's a nice, decently priced hotel and for the location! Across the street from a liquor store and gas station. Minutes (by car, walking or scooter) away from Marina Green, and other beaches. Great variety of restaurants in the vicinity.

Isnt at all what the pictures look like. The pool isnt there. Its only been a non-smoking establishment for one year and still reaks of smoke. As a whole, its terrible.

Good location but you have to pay a $100 cash deposit and wait until house keeping gives the thumbs up to get your money back. I have a view of the alley where homeless people talked loudly all night.

Nice, smaller hotel that is a little dated. The pillows were AMAZING! It was ideally located for our trip. Parking was difficult and they didn't have adequate spaces for everyone, but they did make accommodations on where to park.

I liked the security he was really nice , I didn’t like that they didn’t have a pool anymore are it doesn’t say on their website.

The pictures are outdated. There is no pool. Parking was a hassle. The breakfast was small. However, the location was worth it for what we were doing. It was close to the beach.

The main problem is that this hotel has a picture of a pool - and I specifically booked it because I thought it had a pool, but when I asked I was told the pool has been closed for years. How this is acceptable I have no idea. I will be asking for a partial refund.

The is no swimming pool, the description of the property indicates there is a swimming pool, the picture of the porperty shows a swimming pool. the swimming pool acording to a staff member was filled with cement a few years back. I should and are requesting an adjustment to the fare I paid per night.

First, the positive. Good room for a great price!! Great location. There is so much within walking distance of the hotel. The beach is 1 block away and there are several restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We stay here because it is close to the cruise terminal and a good price but I think this last stay was our last time. Instead of renovating the rooms, outside of flooring and bedding, there are patches all over the walls, mold in the bathroom, stained towels. This place has gone downhill. We showed up to check in and the doors were locked and the guy was asleep behind the desk at 2 in the afternoon. There is NO pool here like the photos show, it is a parking lot.

There were just a few concerns about the property. It wasn’t very clean (hair in the shower, loose screws on the floor, broken tiles, something on the shower curtain), the toilet wasn’t quite anchored to the floor and almost constantly made noise. However, it felt fairly safe and the AC worked well. The breakfast was ok, but not anything too exciting.

I have pretty low standards for hotels and this one was absolutely disgusting. There were so many roaches in the room. On the walls, the floors, I even found one crawling on my pillow. The place looked clean and tidy but was completely infested. I stayed awake all night laying in the center of the bed watching for roaches. I booked 2 nights and only stayed 1. The property manager refused to refund the second unused night. Do not stay here. This is a fair warning.

This property smells so bad and the room smelled like cigarettes. I brought alcohol hospital grade wipes to clean the room and never slept in their sheets. So so dirty. It is a good location that’s the only thing it has going for itself. I feel because they’re in a good location they put no effort into making it nice

Roache infestation!!! As soon as I went in there was roaches in the elevator and hallways! I open the door to my room and there a roach in the sink! I leave my room and come back when it’s dark and there’s tons of roaches crawling on the floor and bathroom when I turned on the lights! I want my money back!!!!

Room was filthy, bedding was dirty, hair, and and dirty brown spots on sheets, both beds, felt very unsafe.

There were no fridge because I needed it for food that I could only have to eat. There were cockroaches in my room. It smelled like cigarette smoke and dog in the room. It smelled like dog urine in the bathroom. And there was screaming in the early morning down the hall. If you are going to have roaches and smells like cigarettes in your hotel, you shouldn't be charging more than $100 a night

Guests above my room were too noisy, stumping for hours, it sounded very loud, until after midnight. Bathtub hade black mildew on the tiles. Floor was dirty. Bedspread had big greasy stains.

The whole thing was just nasty. We got into our first apartment and the whole thing smelt of smoke and just felt musky which is funny because the one rule they have is to not smoke in the rooms. They moved us into a third floor room which we thought would be an upgrade but we were shocked to find the opposite. The bed was rock hard and the bed cover had a huge stain that looked like a piss stain. The blanket inside the cover had many cigarette burns and the sheets were coarse and rough. The tv was about 20 years old and the room lacked the common things found in normal rooms like a fridge, microwave, and even a safe. It was the bare minimum of everything and the shower was tough to figure out since they switched the cold and hot tubes so hot was cold and cold was hot. Just a terrible experience and woul never stay here again

Seemed clean. Didn’t look too closely though because we were exhausted. Stayed 1 night, Saturday night to attend ALA at the con center. No mini fridge or microwave in room. Huge inconvenience considering every place I’ve stayed at has those, and we had planned on being able to store and prepare food for dinner/breakfast. 100 cash deposit at check in was odd and inconvenient, had to walk to the gas station to get an atm, normally it’s a pending charge to a card but w/e. Check out took 20 minutes because everyone’s check out time is the same and they have one guy at the front desk. Air flow in every part of the place is terrible. Lobby and elevator are musty and stuffy. Hallway windows are left open (on 2nd and 3rd floors, which is a hazard) and yet don’t really improve the airflow. The whole place just smells like something that’ll give you cancer (the warning sign on the front doors tells you it might.) Windows are thin, so when we closed ours to sleep we were still woken up at 4 am by crackheads yelling for over an hour. Trash around the parking lot, the surrounding alleys to get in/out certain parking for the hotel are unevenly paved and full of potholes. Honestly embarrassed I took my partner to stay at a place like that. Would’ve ruined the weekend if we had to stay more than one night.

It was a fine stay for the price and close to everything. My problem was sooooo much street noise and it sounded like someone was playing a soft bass most of the night.

For the price it a good experience, the water pressure was good, the water was hot, the ice machine was working. The Wi - Fi need improvement, it needs to be more stable.

I shouldn’t complain too much cuz it was only 10 minute walk to dntwn area where the Indy Grand Prix was @. For $200 ave/night it seemed like a lot for place was just there. Dings & wall patches(lots)in walls, different grout colors in same area, a cigarette burn in bedspread, thin(but clean) small towels, loud creaking squeaking doors & bed springs, the thinnest walls I’ve ever seen(those last 2 make for an interesting combo lol), & not a single picture or decoration in room. But the owner was nice, the sheets & towels were clean & smelled fine, the Wi-Fi worked great, & we had a close place to stay when booking only a week before event…so given the same conditions I would do it again. I would not if not pressed for time & the need to be close to dntwn. I’m also guessing the price wud be more reflective of the property if there wasn’t a 150k person event eating up the rooms in the area(supply & demand … remember Econ 101? - fair is fair.) Also strange or @ least new to me was the request for a $100cash damage deposit to be returned after inspection @ checkout. He ran my visa at checkin. The inspection was fast w/ a phn call to housecleaning, but now I will need to follow it up to make sure I receive the credit back to my card. I asked if I get a credit for cleaning a quarter size spot on the bedspread (by soaking w/h2o which erased it completely); but he didn’t think it was as funny as I did. I think the owner means well, it’s just tough to run a self owned biz these days.

The hotel was okay if you just looking for a cheap place to stay. There was definitely a couple complaints I have but it was a relaxing stay. The other guest were quiet. It was windy and the windows were sorta loose so it sounded like someone was banging on the window all night. The toilet was oddly close to the bathroom counter so much so that it made it hard to do your. The “ breakfast” consisted of some stale mini cinnamon rolls, plain cereal, toast, and some water down juice. But like I said it’s a cheap hotel we weren’t expecting much. It was a nice stay other than the things I mentioned. Staff was nice and when we needed housekeeping they came in the matter of minutes. We would stay here again but remember when booking that your get what you pay for.

Staff was very helpful and nice. Only thing was there was no fridge or microwave in the room,although I had requested it during my booking,(I needed it to store my insulin). When I got there they wanted to charge $10 extra for it. Overall it was a nice hotel.

Stayed here 2 nights. Very very noisy. Kids running up and down the hallway with no concern for other people! The traffic on the blvd is ridiculous.

The check-in process is antiquated and took forever. Required a $100 cash deposit to check-in and there is no ATM on-site. Then upon departure you are required to go back to front office to get the $100 back (after front desk confirms you did not smoke in your room). The hallway smelled clean and the room was clean. Parking area in the back alley is covered in urine. Rooms overlooking the alley can be noisy at night.

Horrible service because of the double charge. Our reservation was booked via Expedia. However, the hotel charged on my credit card as well. You need to keep your eye on credit card invoice if you stay this hotel

Gentlemen at the front desk charge $40 cash for early check in I show up at 1pm didn’t give me a receipt for that I felt he kept that money. It’s on cámara 2/4/24

*important….they make you give $100 in CASH ONLY to hold so you don’t smoke in room. They inspect the room in am. NEVER had this at any other property and it was not disclosed when making reservation on Expedia. Wanted me to pay $40 to check in early even though the room was ready. Settled on $20. Bathroom had worn and rusty fixtures. Bedroom furniture outdated. Bed was hard. Not motel’s fault but was awakened to toddler screaming and domestic incident, police were called. Management returned $20 early checkin fee at my request for inconvenience. Staff pleasant.

The man checking us in is very rude. We asked for a room change because the AC did not work. Once we changed rooms it got worse, the TV didn’t work, there were holes on the wall, paint chipping, the worst part were the roaches. That was the last straw. We couldn’t stay the night, immediately asked for refund.

The staff was excellent.

THE HOERIBLE TOXIC STRONG ODOR of chemicals, smoke and mold all mixed together is disgusting and does not go away even after being in there for a while. This place feels like sleeping in a tent, absolutely everything is heard, even quieter steps in the hallways. The walls and doors are paper thin. The bed is uncomfortable, pillows old and low quality, same for the thin old blanket. Cleanliness was ok, bathroom is probably the best place in the room. The parking in the back smells so strongly of urine that it’s hard to get in and out of the car. And the front desk treat you like you need a favor from them. The location is central and convenient, but on a sketchy part of the street. I would not stay here again.

The room was nice but there was rot in the tub and bathroom was super old. Surroundings were very questionable. Ended up not staying there as a single female.

The Hotel is in a conveint area for most things in Long Beach. It was clean, the front desk was nice. However the area is saturated with homeless people. There is NO pool. (Remove the pic a of pool as your banner photo.) The rooms are what you would expect, mis matched furnishings and re-painted doors and walls. The TV reception was spotty. The breakfast was absolutely minimum with halved croissants and miniature cinnamon rolls. They did have cereal, coffee and juice. The breakfast room is VERY small and only holds about 10 people. I wish they would stop using the small individual soaps and shampoos as they are a waist of plastics. They have limited parking. They have a security guard at night for the back parking lot but no one during the day. I had a man follow me to my car asking for money as I was leaving with my luggage. There also was a young woman getting into her car and he approached her too. I mentioned this to the front desk as I checked out but got only a lame admission of a lot of homelessness but no action was taken to remedy the problem. I would probably not stay here again unless it was the only option. It is not a bad hotel it just could be so much better.

The hotel is located a few blocks from the beach. It is adequate at a reasonable price. The room is large and everything worked - shower, sink, bed, heat/cool. The people are nice. The building is a bit worn, but that did not deter from my stay.

Clean and comfortable. Basic, sparse furnishings but quiet and friendly. Good location for downtown, harbor and restaurants.

There was a shooting next door, furniture was literally falling apart, there was a large stain on the mattress that may have been blood or excrement, and the room smelled like perfumed cigarette smoke. Also, the “breakfast” was just cut in half croissants, bad coffee, and juice.

They had NOTHING at the hotel that was advertised! No pool no breakfast no coffee absolutely NOTHING!! Will NOT STAY OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE EVER! Stay away from thaw false advertising!!

Not enough parking, especially handicapped spaces, poor continental breakfast, was supposed to open at 6, did not open till 6:45, staff could not be found. Double charged me for a room, beds not coming

The worst bed I've ever had the displeasure of not being able to sleep in. Also noisy. Also, the ad said 'continental breakfast included', but when we arrived there was a sign in the lobby saying "breakfast discontinued as of April 1". and no way to reach Vagabond management (I tried and tried) AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL

I rarely leave a very derailed review, but this trip warrants one. The good: it was very close to the convention center. It was easy to walk there and back. I felt safe walking around the area even after dark. There is a restaruant, liquor store, and gas station right next to the hotel so it is easy to get stuff you may need. The check in process was quick and easy. The AC in the room worked well. Neutral: there is an ice machine. Itbis on the first floor, but at least they had one. Breakfast was what it was. Options included toast with butter and jam, mini cinnamon rolls, half croissant. They had 2 kinds of cereal with almost cold milk. Apples and bananas. Coffee and tea. They had a machine with juice but it wasnt exactly cold. The bad: the whole fscily had a smell. The elevator smelled like spoiled trash. The room smelled like someone smoked in it. There were a couple plugs but none worked very well. Plugs didnt stay in the outlet. The bathtub was disgusting. I dont know what was in it but it was definitely gross. The dresser, side table, and table were all very old. The drawers didnt work well. The table wobbled and squeaked. All were sticky. Other notes: If you want amy amenities, there are zero. No iron, ironing board, blow dryer, coffee machine, or fridge. Parking is tight. It was noisy as all get out both inside and out. The bed was adequate. A little soft for my liking but ok. Cheap and close to convention center, this is your place. Bare bones, but doable.

Kind of an average place, ng far nothing fancy. TV was stuck on one Chanel, bed was not stable, hot water is always on the LEFT. Continental Breakfast was a joke. Front desk was nice and polite, about the only good thing

I stayed at the Vagabond for one night only. Compared to the last place I stayed, I was much happier!! At least I had air-conditioning here! Like other hotels I stayed at in L.B, it looks like the place was recently "upgraded" (Painted). All surface stuff. Hardware and plumbing still old but adequate. You get what you pay for!!! I just needed a place to sleep for the night! Very friendly service! And Free Breakfast! Was pretty good!
