We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely hotel and great customer service. Pool and hot tub were fab and room was nice and clean with a comfy bed. Only disappointed was the bar and restaurant t not being open the 2 nights we stayed. It’s the height of summer and we’d expect them open every night, not just Thursday to Sunday

The property has a nice pool and spa area. Unfortunately, half of the fire pits on the grounds were not working and the front office ran out of the s’more packs. We asked for wine glasses for our room and were refused. The room was decent but the tub and toilet need repairs.

I seriously can’t wait to come back to Mammoth and stay here again. Extremely satisfied with this hotel experience. We were not expecting the awesome restaurant/bar arcade area. Cozy and mellow with a live performer in the restaurant while enjoying our drinks. Our son had so much playing in the arcade room. My husband and I played some pool. Heated pool and a jacuzzi was the cherry on top. Seriously cannot wait to stay here again.

If you enjoy sleep, don’t stay in the one bedroom apartment. This was my second time staying here. The first time was right after they opened, I assumed they would have fixed their lack of blackout curtains. They did not. The door is see through and there is a giant window above the door with no curtain. At night, it’s like a spot light is shining on you from all the outdoor lights. I had to buy black trash bags and tape both times to try and shut out some of the blinding light. The top window is really high and hard to reach. There are 12 other bright lights in the room that can’t be shut off that I had to black tape over. Essentially it’s like 2 hours of work to black out some of the light. The fridge makes insane noises all night long. The shower has no shelf, so you have to leave your things on the floor or outside the shower. There is nothing to the pillows. You need two to give your head any support. The bed is like a brick. Incredibly hard Both times I’ve stayed during the week so all amenities are closed including the bar/restaurant/game room. The hot tub was closed for maintenance both times as well. The “sauna” is permanently closed. I won’t be staying here again.

Check in was pleasant Wine bar on site looked great Coffee in the morning was Excellent Room was clean and the TV was large and updated Pool and separate changing area inside were clean! Restaurant on site with full bar (local beers from Mammoth, not my thing as my taste says there is nothing to write home about for Mammoth Brewery's but great for people who want local tasting). Cons: Internet was more than poor Arcade was somewhat functional (too many games broken or not turned on) Hot tub was luke warm and was not built correctly so you are sitting mostly out of the tub, (a lot of people you could hear whispering the same thing). No room upgrade was offered for VIP on Expedia membership level (hotel was far from overbooked).

When we arrived at Outbound, the parking lot was closed due to resurfacing. We parked in a lot next to their on site restaurant. At approx 4:30 there was a loud vibration in our room and we discovered that it was caused by the large machinery working nearby in the parking lot. The vibrations were so strong that my glasses flew off of a table. We left the room for an early dinner to escape the uncomfortable situation. The next morning we discovered that the shower wasn’t working and tried to call the front desk. Since the in room phone wasn’t working I had to dress and walk to the front desk to report the malfunction. We were told that we may need to change rooms so we sat around waiting for a repair person to arrive. The shower got fixed after about 30 minutes. We were in town for a wedding and arrived back to Outbound that night around 7:30. No parking anywhere. After driving around for 40 minutes I parked in a no parking zone and went to the front desk to ask for their assistance. They told me to park 2 blocks away in a lot that had signs posted “no overnight parking-your car will be towed”. They finally moved a truck so that I could park. I complained the next day and they said sorry, they couldn’t refund any $$$ because the room was booked through Hotels.com. VERY DISAPPOINTING

both the sauna and steam room are not working. Jets in Jacuzzi not working. Jacuzzi hot but had not been cleaned for a few days. phones in room do not work so you cannot contact front desk. signage in halls missing or misleading. No restaurant. I was not pleased with my stay, but if you are just looking for a room to sleep in it is ok.

Seems like a brand new remodel. Units are new and clean. Very well designed layout. Great pool and hot tub areas. Right in center of town. Overall we had a very nice stay and would highly recommend this place

Our room was so dirty and so old. Black mold around the sink, dust everywhere. They do not have enough space for parking ( right now it’s construction zone in parking area) It’s so terrible It’s not worth this money at all

Clean and well furnished rooms. Recreational area was well stocked with board games, coffee and teas and warmed by a large and beautiful fireplace. Crepe food truck onsite was a great spot for breakfast.

The room was very comfortable. Spacious. Hot water. Clean. The pool and the jacuzzi are clean. Very dog friendly and dog oriented. Check in was easy so was checkout. The two ladies that helped me in the front desk were very nice and empathetic. HIGHLY recommend.

Overpriced. Claimed to be 3Star but not even 2 in reality. Soiled hallways carpet. Better if I chosen M6 in Bishop. Strong mold smell hallways and room. Room furnishing very poor!! Not enough parking. Broken driveways at hotel parking. Dark at night... no lights... Very very poor. I will not book at this place and not recommend it even for 1/4 of the current price.

This is a lovely property. Our room was great. Clean and comfy. The flowers and dog areas were nice. There’s a bar/restaurant on property. They were grossly understaffed (I was told it was the “in-between” season. Can’t always tell if it’s going to be busy. I had issue with my food order that took way too long to rectify but management took good care of us on the back end. Thank you! I would stay here again. Nice property!

There was a bunch of hairs in the drain of the shower, obviously NOT CLEANED by housekeeping, it was disgusting, you could clearly see the glass was not even cleaned, the shampoo bottles were not cleaned or filled up, the bathroom trash is so tiny it fills up quick. There’s only one trash bin and it’s the bathroom one. There should be two!

I wanted to love this property since it had high customer ratings, but alas, it was not all that great. I had room 267. Right by the pool. Every time someone entered or left through the pool gate, mind you until 10pm there was a loud clank and bang. I arrived and there was pee on my toilet seat. I called immediately to kindly let them know. Got VM, left a VM. No return call. Shower time, there were strands of long black hair sticking to the side. Minimal, but still there. Steam room, oh how I wanted to use it, until I smelled it. Smelled of hot dirty, close to mildewing towels. Now a positive, the staff was A1 upon arrival and at the restaurant/bar. Accommodating and friendly. Some of the newer rooms/cabins look super cute and inviting. I apparently read the Expedia description wrong. I swear it said Mountain View and a fire place when I booked my room. That’s why I booked my room instead of the Westin and the cost. Boy was a wrong. The window opens and I did like that and they are beyond dog friendly. Dog gated area. Dog poop bag stations all over. I brought my dog. Hope this helps! #notakaren

All of the amenities were closed during our stay. From the outsidelookong in, the place looks great but inside the rooms are filthy! Extremely poorly managed. Our rooms all hallways smelled like old wet, musky boots!

Bed was hard and sunken. It felt like two beds were combined, (very likely) to make one whole bed which made the middle part of the bed feel like it had a metal tube. Most of the room is very aged as well. The flooring and appliances are decent but its clear that any room that isn’t a cabin is bound to be old. The area was nice.

Our room was old and musty… I was not happy at all and I asked to move rooms as every picture on this site and hero own site only shows updated rooms. I found that to be completely deceiving and false advertising. Not happy will never stay there sgain

Easy parking, quick check in. Nice pool and jacuzzi- had to bring towels from room though. Room was ok- smaller than accustomed to. Thin walls, I could hear the guests in next room banging around.

Overall, the property was good. Ice machines were not making ice. There were no black out curtain in the rooms, just white roller shades so there was light from the parking lot in the room at night. The pool and jacuzzi area is nice. I would book again.

If you enjoy sleep, don’t stay in the one bedroom apartment. This was my second time staying here. The first time was right after they opened, I assumed they would have fixed their lack of blackout curtains. They did not. The door is see through and there is a giant window above the door with no curtain. At night, it’s like a spot light is shining on you from all the outdoor lights. I had to buy black trash bags and tape both times to try and shut out some of the blinding light. The top window is really high and hard to reach. There are 12 other bright lights in the room that can’t be shut off that I had to black tape over. Essentially it’s like 2 hours of work to black out some of the light. The fridge makes insane noises all night long. The shower has no shelf, so you have to leave your things on the floor or outside the shower. There is nothing to the pillows. You need two to give your head any support. The bed is like a brick. Incredibly hard Both times I’ve stayed during the week so all amenities are closed including the bar/restaurant/game room. The hot tub was closed for maintenance both times as well. The “sauna” is permanently closed. I won’t be staying here again.

The hotel rooms need technology updates. Not enough electrical plugs to charge phones easily, had to move coffee pot into bathroom as there was no open plug. TVs are internet based. Slow internet so lots of buffering. No phone in the room, shower backed up and I had to get fully dressed to go to the lobby to get help. Not the place I expected for the price. Restaurant is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Odd for a resort in the summer.

The toilet in one room did not work and the shower would not drain properly in another. The coffee service in the morning is very spotty and it's hard to understand why there is not an abundant amount. It's just coffee and not hard to make and keep the kettle full.

This property is in a great location for walking to activities, restaurants and stores. The property is full Service with pool, Resto, bar, wine bar, cafe…. I used this as my base camp during a 5-day cycling camp and getaway. The room was comfortable and large. Another plus is the onsite laundry facilities. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I’ll be going back in a few months for #mammothtuff gravel cycling event.

Outbound Mammoth is way beyond your basic hotel. Our room was large, well designed, and super comfortable. The hotel welcomes pets, and has thoughtfully considered the spaces for pets, and their needs. Staff was great, on all shifts. Rooms and public spaces super clean. We will be back!

Upon arrival, it took being moved to three different rooms before we were finally able to settle in—each relocation due to unresolved maintenance issues. These included a non-functioning air conditioning unit, a broken front door lock, and a refrigerator that was not operational. While we were initially willing to overlook some of these inconveniences, the situation quickly worsened.The following morning at 8:00 a.m., a maintenance worker attempted to enter our room unannounced to repair the refrigerator, waking us unexpectedly. Had we not secured the emergency lock, they would have entered without our consent or prior notice, which is completely unacceptable of guest privacy.Further compounding our concern, one evening at 10:40 PM we received a knock at our door from someone claiming to be maintenance, again attempting to gain access to our room. We immediately contacted the front desk to report this. Throughout our stay, we experienced consistent communication issues. There were no phones in the room, making it extremely difficult to reach staff or the front desk. We had to rely on our personal cell phones to call the main hotel line and at times left messages. We were assured that due to the multiple inconveniences, our amenity fees would be waived or refunded. However, we were ultimately charged the full amount. much of the hotel was under maintenance.Staff unfriendly /needs for improving service quality attempts to follow up with the team at Outbound

Very friendly and professional staff. We arrived 2 hours early and we were able to check in early. Leslie offered us a room upgrade to a suite with a fireplace and king bed at no extra charge. The room was spotless and easily the largest we had on our whole 2 week trip. We attended a wine tasting in the hotel bar, which was a lot of fun. The hotel is located within walking distance of a number of places to eat and shop. Definitely looking to secure a room here for the 2026 Mammoth Gran Fondo bike ride.

I'll start by saying the location is good and the rooms were clean. Now the issues started to arise when the TV stopped working, or was unable to connect to the network to basically be able to use the TV at all. So I attempted to connect to the wifi using the password they provided and it never connected. After I realized it wouldn't connect, I attempted to call the front desk with the phones in the room, but the phone didn't work either! After attempting to get the phone to work, I realized that wouldn't work either so I called the front desk from my cell phone, and no one answered! So after none of the amenities I paid for worked, I decided to walk to the front desk which I had to wait 15-20 minutes before getting any help because they were dealing with ANOTHER ISSUE with another guest (booking I believe). After I told the guy at the desk the TV or phone wasn't working, he said the internet wasn't working for him either which is strange because he was able to help the person before me with something that most definitely needed internet. So he just apologized and didn't even offer to fix any of the issues. He also never followed up so overall I felt unvalued as a customer.

Outbound is really convenient if you will be visiting the mountain. There’s a bus stop right in front of the property. Buses can run you all the way up to the mountain and to the village. We had car troubles trying to leave after we checked out and the staff were super helpful. I look forward to another stay here.

Clean and well furnished rooms. Recreational area was well stocked with board games, coffee and teas and warmed by a large and beautiful fireplace. Crepe food truck onsite was a great spot for breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely hotel and great customer service. Pool and hot tub were fab and room was nice and clean with a comfy bed. Only disappointed was the bar and restaurant t not being open the 2 nights we stayed. It’s the height of summer and we’d expect them open every night, not just Thursday to Sunday

Stayed for 3 nights (Mon-Thurs). The hotel is conveniently located and minutes from everything in Mammoth. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open during those days of the week. The have a nice lobby bar area but only serves wine by reservation. Overall a decent place but the experience could have been better.

We stayed at the Outback Mammoth Hotel last June and had a great summer experience. Although it’s known as a ski resort, it was a fantastic base for exploring Mammoth in the warmer months. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent. We especially enjoyed the on-site restaurants and the crepe café, which served delicious fresh breakfast crepes for an extra charge. Our only disappointment was that the wine bar, which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel, was rented out for a bachelor party the night we planned to visit. The sommelier kindly offered us a free glass of wine, which we appreciated, but we missed out on the full tasting experience. Overall, a great stay and we would definitely recommend it for both summer and winter travelers!

The property overall is wonderful and working hard to make it as top notch of an experience as possible. The staff here are the best part. The most notable tip here is that it feels like a split property. You have the new, modern, excellent bungalow style rooms/suites and then the other building, which is like a traditional hotel. The hotel side rooms are cozy, do seem converted from an older propertly but are clean and spacious. The only issue that is very important is that some stacks in the hotel have hot water issues. This is ultimately a major dealbreaker if you end up in one of these rooms. It is also a known issue which begs to differ...mark those rooms and dont reserve those out until it is fixed. Everyone wants a hot shower. We were in one of these rooms and were upgraded to a bungalow which saved the trip. We will definately stay here again as the grounds, staff, lobby lounges, on site restaurant and crepe food truck were all excellent. The pool and jacuzzi were the best.

Run down - run down - run down. That’s all you need to know about this place. From the carpeting in the hallways, to the AC in the room that sounded like a lawn mower, to everything that could have paint chips and scratches — it’s all run down. The room itself was large, but it looked at if 10 million people had been through it and nobody bothered to fix anything after each one of the left. Faucets were loose. Dining table looked like it had been through a sand blaster. WiFi was spotty. The TV would stop transmitting. The place might have some amenities of note, but the sauna and steam rooms smelled moldy and were gross. The gym is tiny. The lobby bar was closed for the season. It’s a large motel pretending to be a hotel — save your money and just stay at the motel 6 — at least there you won’t be let down.

Mammoth lake e un posto meraviglioso , l’hotel e studiando per i le vacanze invernali. Io costo della camera le molto alto per i servizi offerti , no locazione anche solo caffè, , solo il parcheggio incluso . Il bagno molto moderno con doccia ampia e pulita .. purtroppo moquette ovunque . E

Cute modern hotel with various amenities. Rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. A couple dining options were available throughout the day. Unfortunately a couple amenities were not working during our visit - the hot tub jets didn’t work, pool towels were not replenished and remained empty, only one fire pit was operational on the premise, and the dry sauna took over 30 minutes to heat up. The AC cooling in the cabin didn’t seem to be fully working - we had it turned down as low as possible, but it was still fairly warm since it was summer. The front desk was also unmanned when we arrived late, so we had to wait over 10 minutes (alongside two other people) for someone to show up. Not the best welcome, but the cabin and location made up for the shortcomings.
