Fireside Inn

This Hotel is in a very convenient location just a block or two from the restaurants and shops on the bay. There is plenty of parking and the street dies not appear to be busy. The room was nice and clean. The TV was a bit difficult in finding channels. This was a good value for the money.

The person on the phone was lovely the accessibility room was great but one of the staff thought the ramp for my wheelchair was the perfect place to chain up his bike it was there in the afternoon and first thing in the morning blocking the sidewalk and the ramp so I couldn't safely leave the room

Super convenient location, the ocean view rooms have a great unobstructed view. The rooms are clean and spacious. Ample parking, nice staff, decent towels, bed isn’t the best but not bad.

The Fireside Inn is a quaint hotel with spacious rooms. We had the room with ocean view and a deck. View is also of a self service car wash below. Staff was personable and helpful.

Pleasant staff, easy check in. Good location for walking around town. Balcony is very small.

Ken at the front desk is always friendly and walks the grounds checking on everything. We asked for a handicap room and got one. Zero noise from guests, traffic, or passersbys. Safe and well lit area. Bathroom door didn't lock and manager offered to repair it immediately. We opted for a door stop instead and he made sure we got one quickly. Hotel is located within easy walking distance of embarcadero, shops, and food. Catholic church and Albertson's is only a 5 minute drive away.

Check-in was a breeze, super friendly staff, decent hotel, parking was easy. Bed was comfy. Horrible water pressure, but the worst part was cleaning staff. We asked for extra towels and told her we did not need cleaning service and she wanted our soiled towels, but we didn't have any yet. We put the do not disturb sign on our door before we left for the day and while we were gone she came into the room and took all but ONE clean towel. She took all the wash clothes, hand towels, shower mat and left 1 towel that was hanging that we would re-use, took the other (used) one and then left one clean towel. Needless to say we ran out of clean, dry towels. Would never recommend or stay here again. Oh, and all the seagulls live on top of this hotel. So loud! Beautiful view though. That is why I give it 2 stars.

Super quiet and balcony was noce

No elevators and no help to move luggage to the second floor especially if you are a senior or have some physical limitations. Microwave, Tv were not in good working order. This room cost $328.00 a day and for the price the accommodations were very limited. I would not recommend this hotel especially if you were looking for a view of the ocean

The two staff people we talked with were very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, we have three minor complaints: internet connection was spotty. Plus, the balcony was narrow, both in length and width, making entry and exit to and from the balcony difficult and overall comfortable seating difficult. And the balcony railing was high with thick slats. While seated, it was difficult to see much.

The room was clean but the carpet is old and the room smelled very musty. The TV had no volume on several channels. The location was great, could walk everywhere and the people were nice.

The bad… The room was very noisy, from the traffic on the street to being able to hear the couple above us having s** above us for 20 minutes in the middle of the night (the bed sounded like sawing). The room was quite bright and the window coverings need to be thicker. The tile was very slick. The room needed a deep cleaning, there was a coat of dust on the ceiling fan. The room had an odd smell and the room needs updated, unscratched furniture.

Quick, friendly staff. Spacious room, not the comfiest bed or cleanest bathroom. But great stay for the night and price.

The room smelt really bad, I found hair in my sheets and a dried blood stain.

Stay was great. Only thing is the noise, can hear other people talking. Walls are thin.

Great location and price….a bit noisy. I’d stay again

Stayed in the king suite with a balcony and ocean view. The bed was a spring mattress which was not the most comfortable and the A/C in the room only worked on "fan only". Luckily it was a cool weather weekend so that was acceptable but if it was hotter that would not have worked for us.

Very central with a view of the bay! Our room was very spacious and clean.

The mattress was hard and uncomfortable. Everything else was in good shape.

We were welcomed by a very nice and friendly desk clerk. The room was exceptionally clean and modern. This is the nicest place we have stayed in Morro Bay. We will certainly return. The two downsides were that the wi-fi was too slow to stream a movie and the seagulls pooped all over our car!

This hotel didn't meet our expectations. It's definitely not a 3-star hotel. Pros: The room is clean, the mattress is good, the sheets and towels are fresh and clean (though the standard sized sheets didn't fit the king mattress so that significant part of mattress was just exposed). Newly remodeled bathroom with clean countertops. Parking is fine though by late evening all spots were taken despite many rooms non-occupied. That's pretty much it... Cons: Front-desk is non-existent (even though stated all-day availability). We had to wait for 10 minutes and ring a bell several times before someone finally showed up. Later, we haven't seen anyone there either at any time we passed by as well as at our check-out. Building is very old and worn out, no elevator. Room is fine but very smelly, with old carpets and greasy filthy surfaces everywhere they didn't wipe (e.g. doors and walls). In the newly remodeled bathroom they forgot to get exhaust ventilation (so it becomes misty every time after taking a shower). The water in the shower hardly flows at all, not enough pressure. Body wash container was practically empty, we put serious efforts to milk some last drops from it. And I don't know who designed power outlets on the nightstand lamps but you can't plug any charger in there except the smallest one as there's no room due to this design. We will try a different place next time.

We were on vacation to Morro Bay with the Fireside Inn, and we had some things come up. They were very generous helping us cancel our reservation the day before. Thank you very much. Justin was very considerate. Also, we got to see the room, and the property, early on in our vacation, and it was stellar. I think you will be happy with a stay at the Fireside Inn. Pleasant travels!!

Great room, great staff. They're always very friendly and clean.

Nice property and extremely attentive staff. One of the few places that still offers daily maid service. We found that our refrigerator was not working at 10 PM and contacted the front desk. The immediately opened up a room next-door to us and let us move all of our food into the other refrigerator. The next day, they repaired/replaced our refrigerator and moved all the food back in Above and beyond service, especially in today’s post Covid environment. I would definitely stay there again.

Close to everything

I have stayed at fireside in numerous times, I have always felt that check-in has been so easy and I’ve always felt safe being there. It’s walkable distance to my favorite coffee shop and bookstore. There are numerous dining options that are also within distance.

Great location. Walkable to water and Embarcadero. Large room with fridge, coffee, microwave, comfortable bed. Neighborhood feels safe.

It was close to all the places I like to walk to in Morro Bay

The hotel was nice and comfortable but the area around it was noisy. There is a car wash that’s extremely busy all hours of the day so there is a bunch of traffic. The room itself was very large and comfortable

loved the accessble bathroom and shower. loved being so close to down town area. down fall us was not having breakfast included.
