The Oakland Marriott City Center is located near a BART station making it really convenient if your trip plans include San Francisco and Berkeley. You can take the BART to/from SFO airport In about the same time as a rideshare. It's also walking distance from Oakland Chinatown. The room was clean and in good condition. The hotel gym met my needs. Onsite food options are limited, but there are many food options nearby.

Location was good, was within close proximity to places we were going to visit. I enjoyed having access to several amenities offered and appreciated the room floor plan and overall contemporary decor. The M Lounge offered breakfast, snacks, fruit, many drink options which was an added plus! The bar had a good selection and vibe. There were more areas I didn’t get to use while there but it seemed to be a good fit for large groups/conventions due to their ballroom space.

Found a mans used underwear on top of my bath towels in the bathroom. Disappointed there wasn't a swimming pool. $45 to park in a not at all secured garage is kinda outrageous!

So far this is a nice clean hotel the check in was fast and easy very convenient to have everything here restaurant & lounge bar makes delicious drinks and the bay view is lovely i would definitely come back to this hotel

Large conference hotel in downtown Oakland, good location. Room was okay, nice work space, but I had a connecting room and the noise from the adjacent room (phone conversations) was way too loud. Facilities are otherwise fine, there is a good restaurant and bar, gym, and store.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years, and unfortunately this time my stay was disappointing. The hallway on my floor had empty food containers and food scattered, some of the other guests were noisy, and the hallway smelled. The staff was responsive though and very friendly.

Staff are SUPERB! So friendly and helpful. Cleanliness absolutely missed the mark. The bathroom had not been cleaned (there was hair in the bathtub, very short what it looked like to be beard trimmings in the sink/counter, hair on the toilet, and the floors had not been mopped/swept).

When I arrived to my room I found foo don the floor , which was documented. I also, had to wipe down the bathroom counter due to hair and crumbs being there upon arrival. I was not happy with that at all.

The entire facility was clean and well maintained. My room was excellent and accommodating to all my needs. The room was nicely decorated. The bed and bedding was comfortable. Nice soft towels in the bath. The entire staff was pleasant and kind. First time visiting and I shall return.

It's a beautiful, clean, pleasant, and delicious hotel. The staff is excellent. I stayed there for five days and felt right at home. I would recommend it and will definitely stay there again if I return to Oakland, California. It has a spectacular view. The cleaning service is excellent. Thank you Marriott for making me feel so special.

Well known high rise hotel smack dab in downtown Oakland. Was very convenient for my needs. Very close to BART. If you’re driving; there is a hefty parking fee. My room was very small and kind of strange (triangle shape) but very clean and comfortable. The bedding was nice with feather comforter and feather pillows. I needed to recuperate from a family health crisis and I did not get off this bed for 20 hours!!! Very close walk to multiple coffee shops and farmer’s market. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything with the hotel was fine except for their air conditioner. It wouldn't cool down the room, as it was facing the wall rather than towards the room. And giant window (beautiful bldgs view) but not able to crack it for air. So it made my nights hard to get a decent rest. Temperature is everything to me.

Tiny cramped rooms, no fan in the bathroom, very noisy refrigerator and air-conditioning. I had to sleep with earplugs in it was so loud. Had to pay an extra $50 a day for parking.

Truly enjoyed my stay at the Oakland Marriott City Center! Lovely hotel. The only reason I didn't give it a five-star rating was due to the slow wifi connection. It was difficult to connect to and made Netflix almost impossible to watch.

There was nothing I did not like about my room except that the windows were dirty, so it was hard to take a picture of the view. I booked my reservations through Expedia. I called the hotel the day before to confirm my reservation to be told I did not have one. I then called expedia and their customer service rep also told me that I had no reservation. I then got online an booked and paid for a reservation at a higher cost than before. The first reservation was book now pay later. I checked into the hotel and was told that I had booked two reservations and because I had paid for one I could not get the lower price. I would also have to call Expedia to cancel the first reservation so that I would not be charged for a "no-show". This was a hassle and no one was very accommodating. I was fortunately, able to cancel the first reservation without being charged a fee. I have been using Expedia for years but I probably won\'t be using them anymore.

Marriott was fantastic!! No complaints at all!! I guess the only “issue” was our original room reeked of cigarette smoke and they immediately switched our room without any hesitation. Service was great & very friendly and professional from start to finish(staff, restaurant, valet, etc) Room was perfect!! Beds, pillows, shower, view etc! I wish there was a microwave in the room but they have one in the lobby so it worked out. We visit Jack London/Oakland frequently and this was our 3rd hotel and will have found our choice! We will be back again! Thank you Marriott!

We had paid for a king size bedroom with a city view. No information was given on how to operate the elevators. Because of this, we thought they were not working so we walked up the stairs for four floors. When we got to the room, it was a room with two queen beds with an obstructed view. I called to the front desk and they said that I was correct and switched rooms. I got a call a couple hours later stating that during our move, we left a water bottle in our original room. They said that they'd bring it right up. Nobody ever came as we waited an hour, pushing back our dinner reservation to wait. Later that night, we purchased ice cream from the lobby. There were no spoons in the lobby so the desk lady said she would have some sent up. We tried to put our ice cream in the fridge while we waited but the fridge was broken. After two additional calls down and an hour passing since our request, we finally got the spoons. By then, our ice cream was almost completely melted with no way to keep it cool. The next morning I called back to the lobby to inquire about my water bottle. She said they didn't have it. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager present. This was around 8 am so I'm surprised they wouldn't have a manager around at that time. They called back, finally found my bottle, and brought it to me. The room was great but the service was terrible. I expect more from a Marriott hotel. Super disappointing.

The staff were unbelievably attentive and helpful throughout our stay! I also really appreciated the security guards downstairs and the fact that only guests could use the elevators to the bedrooms. I wasn't worried at all :) Thank you for the complimentary waters, as well. We drank so many.

Location was good, was within close proximity to places we were going to visit. I enjoyed having access to several amenities offered and appreciated the room floor plan and overall contemporary decor. The M Lounge offered breakfast, snacks, fruit, many drink options which was an added plus! The bar had a good selection and vibe. There were more areas I didn’t get to use while there but it seemed to be a good fit for large groups/conventions due to their ballroom space.

The front desk service was very unprofessional. I got treat as if I was dumb. The agent was not helpful not once did she say where our room was simply headed the keys and ignored us. I booked a room that said accommodating for 3 person sleeping. Not the case when I got there. They couldn’t change my room based on them not have roll away beds to accommodate us. It was the worst experience at a Marriott

The staff is so wonderful and patient., I very tired when I arrived, I was not able to understand the fees, and they very kindly explained it to me. The pillows are a little too soft for me, but the bed was very comfortable, the AC worked great, the TV was nice and you can connect with some streaming services. I had a great stay and although it was a little expensive, I would definitely stay again.

Te front desk staff were so welcoming and accommodating when we arrived. Doing everything they could to make sure we knew how the hotel worked, getting us rooms together as close as possible. Wait staff in the restaurant on the s 2nd floor were so nice. And Accomodating as well, it really made the difference in how enjoyable our stay was.

Well known high rise hotel smack dab in downtown Oakland. Was very convenient for my needs. Very close to BART. If you’re driving; there is a hefty parking fee. My room was very small and kind of strange (triangle shape) but very clean and comfortable. The bedding was nice with feather comforter and feather pillows. I needed to recuperate from a family health crisis and I did not get off this bed for 20 hours!!! Very close walk to multiple coffee shops and farmer’s market. I would definitely stay here again.

Less than 10 mins walki g to fox theater, so that was convenient! Hotel was very nice, parking was $50 a night (eek) but Cali, so we knew we would have to pay. Area at night is kind of scary, and seems a little unsafe. A lot of police patrolling

Very close to restaurants and BART station. Clean, quiet, and safe. This was my second stay. My only complaint about service is that last year, and again during my stay last week, I called for towels and after 12 hours they did not arrive. Last time I had to go to the front desk and this time I had to call again. Also, there are no fans in the bathrooms.

The Oakland Marriott City Center is located near a BART station making it really convenient if your trip plans include San Francisco and Berkeley. You can take the BART to/from SFO airport In about the same time as a rideshare. It's also walking distance from Oakland Chinatown. The room was clean and in good condition. The hotel gym met my needs. Onsite food options are limited, but there are many food options nearby.

Amazing stay! The location is perfect juts steps from the BART. The area felt safe and there was even a security guard at the property. The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We can for a concert at Oakland Arena and it was a great location for that! Would absolutely stay again!!

We were extremely upset over the lack of food, when someone checks in after 10PM. There should be some type of food service for guests. The small selection in the lobby is very limited also!!

The check-in process was difficult. The room service was TERRIBLE! Paper boxes and insufficient utensils, I wouldn't even call it room service. Parking is super expensive and you get charged for taking it in and out of the garage. The hotel is not accommodating when it comes to parking or giving a voucher if you do take it out of parking. The restaurant food in the Hotel was terrible, my sister ended up getting diarrhea. The French Toast was soggy. I usually can count on Marriott when all other hotels fail, but this one failed me too.

Room and staff amazing. Food not so good and over priced.. Don’t pay for club access if you check in late and aren’t up early. We didn’t get to use it- then pains for $30 pancakes and coffee for one person. Other than that stay was great

We paid extra for the club lounge level access, but I'm not sure it was worth it. The snacks offered were quite disappointing. Apparently most of it isn't offered during the weekend, which I didn't know. But the staff during breakfast in the lounge was fantastic and helpful. Our room was very small but decent. The bathroom door was dirty, so that was unpleasant, otherwise, the room seemed clean. The beds were comfortable and the view from the 19th floor was nice.

Nice and clean hotel. Unfortunately I dident pay too much attention when I booked it…. I’m from Europe and we take a lot for granted… if you want to use internet… prices starts from 15$ a day…. If you need to park your car…. It’s an additional 55$ if you need something send to the hotel it’s an additional 5$ per item. If you want to have breakfast it’s 40-50$ a day… sooo about a 100$ extra a day. On top of that is there homeless people everywhere around the hotel… not super safe at night to walk around… it’s a shame it could be so much better. I was here for a 1.5month work trip. Decided to move somewhere else. Bonus info. Been traveling around the world for the past 14 years as a part of my job.
