Comfortable bed. Clean room. Close to everything. It was conveniently located to the beach & town. We parked our car & walked where we needed to go the whole weekend… it’s just a few blocks to the beach. It was quiet for our stay. There isn’t a swimming pool but we’re there for the beach so not a problem for us. No breakfast but coffee is available to make in your room, again not a problem for us, we enjoy getting our own breakfast/coffee when we come to Pismo. It’s a well kept hotel. They don’t service the room during your stay but was very responsive to our requests for more towels & garbage removal. They kept in touch with us via text & we liked this unintrusive approach. Staff was friendly & helpful!

We had a great stay the hotel was close to restaurants, bars, and of course the beach. Parking was safe and plenty of room. The hotel room was nice, updated and very clean. The outside lounge area we used was very cool to hang out and even had outlets for your phone and a nice fire ring. We will stay again!!

This motel is situated immediately off the freeway but is surprisingly quiet. There is a cute little outdoor seating area, grassy area for the pups and ample parking. There is no elevator on the premise so be prepared to carry your luggage up the 1 flight. We had a small window view of the ocean from our bathroom but otherwise our view was the parking lot. The room was clean and spacious and again, quiet. The walk to the main strip of town was short but drivable if you prefer. It took maybe 10 minutes max with traffic signals. The weather permitted our outdoor activities but if thats not the case, everything is a short drive away.

It’s a pretty efficient little room with hard floors Fridge and microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. The plastic end tables are really small and a little too far from the bed so that could use improvement. I love the covered area across the parking lot with several comfortable chairs and tables and heated pit.

We had a nice one night stay at Ocean Palms. Would stay there again. Sadly, the eponymous palm trees have been cut down. Pros: *Very friendly, efficient, and helpful check in with Laura *Room (104) very clean, well-stocked and operational including Keurig, microwave and fridge, iron and ironing board, TV, hair dryer, suitcase rack *Shower gel and shampoo dispensers in shower/tub *Tap card entry *Comfortable bed *Plantation shutters-pretty *Relatively updated/remodeled *Within walking distance of about everything Cons: *No closet rod or wall hook or door hook so no place to hang clothes on hangars or otherwise-good thing there is an iron! *No place to sit outdoors anywhere on property (with the exception of the palm tree stumps) *The bed platform is made of metal, and it took us a few hours to realize that it was the cause of the loud metallic noise we kept hearing. Sounded like a basketball thrown in a metal trash can. Occurred when a foot hit the platform and when a person got in bed on the right side. Happened a lot. *Plantation shutters-let in a fair amount of light *Pool filled in

Lovely lil motel close to everything. Staff was super nice. Room was minimal, but clean and comfortable - had a lil fridge too! Really liked chilling in the outdoor area that was set up with a fire pit, chairs, tables and games. Very inviting on a summer night after a long day.

I liked the smoking area where the pool used to be. The property had a tiny pool they turned into a fenced patio area with a fire pit they keep open late. There's also a dog run area for your puppy to potty etc. Great updates to the property!

Motel is conveniently located. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants snd bars. Rooms are clean and service is excellent. Nothing fancy but clean affordable and practical. I’ve stayed here multiple times and plan on it the next time I go to Pismo.

Just a 5 minute walk to the beach, nice! But very noisy being next to highway 101 especially if you want to take advantage of the ocean air and coolest. But worst was when we had a large bug run out of the bed the first morning there. That made us very uncomfortable, Reported what we found to the front desk. Housekeeping and front desk staff visited the room. Could not find the bug. Staff offered another room or a refund. Being grossed out we took the refund instead. When it came time to check out get the refund at the front desk they gave us only refunded for the reminding 2 nights we had plan to stay. Was told they will examine room further and if determined it was something they had control of they would credit us the Saturday night charge, which was higher than the other nights. They never contacted us on the outcome, nor respond to our calls. Not good business.

Feels a bit cheap and tired. It’s an old motel. They updated with laminate floors and fresh paint. Cute but cheap decor. Bathroom needed some updating. Felt dirtier than a gym bathroom just because it is old not because it was necessarily dirty. Great location though and staff were nice at check in!

Room was small, but had everything we needed. Shower drain was full of dark hair when we got there. Gross! Shower sputtering and curtain is short, getting waiter on the floor. We stayed two nights with no housekeeping, but towels were delivered which was nice. Beds were comfortable as was the pillows. Beds are on metal boxes which make noise. Very strange!

Decent motel. For the price for the weekend I think it wasn’t as nice as I was hoping for. Could have probably booked something a bit nicer for around the same price. Location was convenient. Check in was ok, didn’t think the staff was very helpful or friendly. Water pressure was terrible, but the bed was decent. No really closet or dedicated space to hang your clothes.

Place was very clean inside and outside. Bed was comfortable, but just wish it had somewhere to put your clothes, no closet or dresser. Was very close to the event and downtown, 8 min walk. Did have a misunderstanding with manager about something they falsely advertised but overall stay was good.

Nice Room. Clean and comfortable. Nice location near restaurants and shops. Walls were thin and we could hear people snoring and chatting outside and downstairs. Bring plugs and turn on TV or fans if you are a light sleeper. Over happy with the stay and would stay there again.

The TV never worked, they have instructions on how to reprogram it which we did about 15 time's but it never worked. Also AC stopped working in the middle of the night. Relayed that via text to manager who completely ignored my concern

It seems like the rooms may have been remodeled not long ago. I loved that I was on the ground level because I have 3 kids and a stroller. Parking wasn’t an issue. Very clean! If guest next to or above you aren’t respectful then it can be noisy but I bring ear plugs and a noise machine everywhere I stay so it didn’t bother me. You can hear traffic slightly, but again only when someone is rude and revs their engine. I’ll definitely be staying here again in the future. I did wish there was a space to put my bags away or my clothing in a drawer/closet. It was a short two night stay for us, but any more than that I would have liked to have my clothing out somehow. Thank you!! Staff was nice also

Room was clean, spacious, and with several electrical outlets on both sides of wall. Room was minimalist with more modern type furniture. Provided all the necessities. Service was cordial and welcoming. Walls maybe a bit thin as you can hear conversations, tv or air conditioning/heater from neighboring rooms, but that I consider normal for almost models. Nothing headphones or earbuds can’t fix when sleeping. Overall pleasant experience. Would recommend to others.

We have been coming here for over 10 years. We were so pleased to see the improvements on the property which makes the price so worthwhile. Great restaurants in walking distance. Beach and pier in walking distance. Freeway close for any driving excursions. We were sad to see the pool filled in, but that’s due to the City of Pismo Beach’s policies. I hate to give such a positive review because that means the price will go up and rooms won’t be available. We had to book a room with a different establishment on our last visit, that was a block closer to the beach because Ocean Palms had no vacancies. The family was so DISAPPOINTED in the other establishment. Will continue to make the Ocean Palms our home base in our future visits. I hope the property will improve the metal bed frames in the future. They can be noisy when you rollover in the night. Great visit and “I’ll be back”.
We have been coming here for over 10 years. We were so pleased to see the improvements on the property which makes the price so worthwhile. Great restaurants in walking distance. Beach and pier in walking distance. Freeway close for any driving excursions. We were sad to see the pool filled in, but that’s due to the City of Pismo Beach’s policies. I hate to give such a positive review because that means the price will go up and rooms won’t be available. We had to book a room with a different establishment on our last visit, that was a block closer to the beach because Ocean Palms had no vacancies. The family was so DISAPPOINTED in the other establishment. Will continue to make the Ocean Palms our home base in our future visits. I hope the property will improve the metal bed frames in the future. They can be noisy when you rollover in the night. Great visit and “I’ll be back”.

Convenient location, Clean rooms, easy friendly check in. We arrived early and although there isn’t an early check in we were allowed to park on the premises so we could walk across the street for lunch. It worked out perfectly.

The female clerk when we checked in was inconsiderate with our needs. I wanted a quiet second story room and she didn't offer any options. I had called twice earlier in the day for a second story room and no one answered the phone.

Communication via text with office staff was unexpected. Never had such a perfect path of communication before. They really care about your stay. Super friendly staff. Rooms were really cleaned well. Being close to hwy 101,we never really hear any road noise. So much within walking distance. We would recommend a stay here.

Only place I'll stay in Pismo moving forward. The place is simple, clean and im a great location. Laura at the feont desk couldn't have been nicer! Customer service isn't what it used to be but at Ocean Palms they hit the mark. Thank you!!

I got sick on the trip so it was hard to enjoy but the customer service was exceptional which is rare now. They actually helped me get my refund for the second night. I also came with pets and they gave me a room close to the dog area. The location was good, close to the beach. I was missing having a smart TV

Our first response when we walked through the room was , wow, they thought of everything. Honestly, they made great use of space. Besides the bed, which was comfortable, they had 2 side tables with electric available on each side; a lounge chair, a counter with 2 chairs to sit and eat at, another large counter to work with, a good shower, bathroom is small but workable, appreciated the fridge and micro. We were able to walk down to the beach and pier with no issues.

Comfortable bed. Clean room. Close to everything. It was conveniently located to the beach & town. We parked our car & walked where we needed to go the whole weekend… it’s just a few blocks to the beach. It was quiet for our stay. There isn’t a swimming pool but we’re there for the beach so not a problem for us. No breakfast but coffee is available to make in your room, again not a problem for us, we enjoy getting our own breakfast/coffee when we come to Pismo. It’s a well kept hotel. They don’t service the room during your stay but was very responsive to our requests for more towels & garbage removal. They kept in touch with us via text & we liked this unintrusive approach. Staff was friendly & helpful!

Good value. Room was small, but clean and efficient. Nice email communications. Maid did not come by (2 night stay) but we could obtain more cups and coffee from office. Ada's and Rosa's both very close by and good food. Pet friendly, even welcoming.

The location is excellent, as it is walking distance to the beach. The room and was clean and the property was in excellent condition. My husband had a hard time figuring out how to cool down the room, as there is no thermostat and the heat/cool settings are on the unit next to the window. Hubby complained his back hurt from the mattress but I slept okay. Overall we felt like we got a good deal for what we paid to be within walking distance to the beach. And bonus: there is an excellent Italian restaurant across the street called Rosa's.

I almost didn’t want to leave a review here so that we could keep the secret to ourselves! This motel was very clean and very comfortable for our two families to stay in. It had all the amenities we needed, at a very affordable price point. Walking distance to the beach and great lunch and dinner spots. I was a bit nervous about it being close to the highway, but the noise wasn’t so bad actually. Plus points for the black out curtains. We were on the ground floor and it was still really pleasant! Thank you for a great stay!

The staff from the office to the maid service was extremely helpful and kind. We only stayed one evening and in season on a Friday night. It’s a motel folks not the 4 seasons or the Hilton. It has a wall air conditioner, that was what I expected and for a night or a few it’s fine. Close to walk and get good quality food. If I needed a room again, It would be fine. Thank you for wonderful friendly service.
