My wife has MS. Because pf the slope of the parking lot, she was unable to walk to the room. We were alone at the location. No one to talk to. We drove away. wheel chairs and walkers can’t be used at this location.

We enjoyed our stay. The facility and room was very clean. The parking was a bit of a challenge and the office hours and amenities were lacking. Very few choices for meals.

Excellent suit on the ocean bay. The room was very cozy with jacuzzi (didn't use it, but nice touch). Stuff was very friendly. Hotel sits on the high hill slope ant buildings are 3-story, so be aware if you have big have suitcases. Luckily, we had only light carry-ons, so it was not a problem. Down on the bay shore there is nice pizza parlor, so we could order a pizza and salads for dinner as eat them on some tables on the beach.

Beautiful hotel with helpful friendly staff! Parking lot is very small and if you have to park down low it is a steep uphill walk to get to your room. The room was beautiful with an electric fireplace and full balcony overlooking the ocean. You can hear the ocean waves crashing if you open the windows.

Very nice location situated just above the harbor with easy walking access to the wharf and restaurants. Also relatively easy access to nearby coast trails with tremendous views. Very nice low key place to stay!

The owners of the property are the on-site managers. They purchased the property in 2021 they have been doing steady improvements on the property painting maintenance and remodeling the rooms pretty tough considering that they just got into this at the start of Covid. I would highly recommend to stay here. They were friendly, carried your bag and showed you your room and they have a small café on site that has some good food and beer and wines. I wish them the best.

Very nicely hidden spot that I feel most people are not aware of yet! Hiking trails in back yard. Beautiful views everywhere you look. Karen made us a beautiful charcuterie board. Cozy by the fireplace in April.

Wonderful comfortable suites, fireplaces and jetted tubs. Great ocean views. Saw whales pass by just looking out the window and sitting on the balcony and surfers each day.Great sunsets. Healthy breakfast items and beverages in lobby. Beautiful grounds with activities. Lot’s of history.We can’t wait until our next trip north.

Pros: Front desk lady was great. The location was very good. The courtyard was nice. Cons: It's a very old property. It shows tons of wear and tear. My bathroom, shower, and jetted tub were all a little dirty or had bugs/spiders. There is no AC and no ceiling fan. Breakfast is limited and doesn't start until 8am. I left before that. There are no blackout curtains. You hear people using the steps on both levels, you hear people closing doors, and you will hear people walking above you. It's a very noisy place if you are on lower level. I thought it was a very unique place but way overpriced. I did not get a comfortable night's sleep.

My husband and I decided to go on a quick getaway to the coast and found this lovely hotel. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with our wine and looking at the ocean. There was also a nice little table with two comfy chairs at the end of the bed in front of the fireplace. We liked that they had stemless wine glasses and glass coffee cups instead of plastic! The room was very clean and quiet, the bed super comfy. The manager/owner was awesome! We’d definitely stay there again.

Amazing location and a lovely hotel! Balcony to enjoy the sun, view and the crash of waves. Everything clean, well designed and beautiful- we needed the fireplace and the hot tub after walking the beach in cold weather. Great breakfast. Slept like a rock!

The folks running the place are the nicest people you'll ever meet. The ocean views and balcony were wonderful. There are fireplaces and Jacuzzis in the room. It was super peaceful. You are definitely in a small beach town, so you may be a bit limited as far as food and beverage options, but they make it work. There are restaurants and a coffee/smoothie place right down the hill.

The Wharf Master Inn is AMAZING!! I can't think of 1thing that I could even say could be better. Service is so friendly. The place is beautiful. Beautiful views. Everything works and is clean. The whole area is great

Our Victorian King Suite had a large deck that faced the ocean wharf and had especially amazing view of the sunsets. Nice deck furniture to relax and take in the peaceful atmosphere. We also had the restful sound of ocean waves breaking in the wharf overnight that we could hear from the bed. The suite had a separate area for the king bed and small kitchen. There was a separate area for relaxing with a warm, comfy couch positioned so we could see the water and sky. There was a fireplace across from the couch that provided cozy heat. Great bathroom with a large shower and tub. The staff was great, especially Karen. She made us feel so welcome, we can’t wait to go back. There are also two great places to eat literally below the hotel. Excellent pizza at one, and great seafood at the other. The whole experience was five stars all the way.

Very easy check in and check out. Very good coffee and minor snacks for breakfast. They offer a cooked to order to breakfast which we did not use because we brought our own breakfast food to eat in the room. Our room had a balcony with chairs and a partial ocean view. The bed was a little soft for me. Shower and bathroom were fine. All the staff gave us excellent and friendly service. The new owners have been there about 2 years and have made a lot of progress on renovating the rooms. Our room had newer carpet, new deck material on the balcony and fresh paint. The TV got weak reception, but no big deal since we were not in the room that much. We enjoy this location for its quiet and its proximity to hikes we like. We will stay again when we return to the area.

4.8 STARS This is one of our favorite places! The ocean view (from balcony and bed) was fantastic. The staff was amazing. The room was very clean and well maintained. - Unfortunately, the wifi was very poor. In an area with no cell service to speak of, this was a problem.

We checked in later for our stay but everyone was still so wonderful! Views breathtaking. Wish we had more time to explore. Management even went above and beyond to mail a forgotten item home to us. Would definitely stay again 😊

Karen at the desk was awesome. It was my wife’s birthday and we forgot the champagne back home. Not only did Karen suggest a bath bomb that my wife loved, she had some great selections of champagne on hand! I picked out a bottle and Karen brought it up to the room on ice with the bath bomb gift wrapped! Oh…. all while keeping it a secret from my wife so it looked like I planned it for months! Thanks Karen.

You cant beat the friendliness of the staff! They learn your name and treat you like they favorite family! I am so thankful, they could charge so much more and still take of us by keeping it all affordable! Karen, owner, was so friendly and helpful, even will run out and help you park, very helpful and you can tell she is proud of her baby! Shar, Shar is absolutely marvelous! A gem of a woman! Karen and Cliff and Gina were very welcoming, kind, and set the tone for a relaxation, peaceful get away. Karen’s room service was prepared tastefully and thoughtfully. Cliff was everywhere around that property keeping the outside looking tranquil and friendly. Gina was very personal and accommodating. There is not much to do around the Point Arena area, but staying here, we weren’t in a hurry to do anything other than walk, listen to and watch nature, and enjoy the comforts of our lovely spacious room and patio. It was a perfect spot to just breathe and get away!

Fabulous as always. Front desk staff are friendly and go the extra mile without ever needing to be asked. A favorite place of ours. We will definitely be back. Charming, clean and the sweet sound of waves crashing against the rocks!

One of the best views on the coast. Quiet and calm, a cool hotel right on the water. I would love to come here just to hang out in the rooms again. Most of the rooms have ocean view. The place is located on a quiet bay with a few cool restaurants and a pier right next door. Most of the restaurants / coffee shops are closed Monday and Tuesday so be warned! Loved it, will be back.

A good place to get away, quiet and you can walk to the beach. Not in a very “touristy” area which was great. The hotel owners were very nice even when we showed up a bit past closing time. My wife and I plan on returning.

Very nice location situated just above the harbor with easy walking access to the wharf and restaurants. Also relatively easy access to nearby coast trails with tremendous views. Very nice low key place to stay!

Well this is not a huge tourist hot spot like Fort Bragg or Mendocino. Wharf Master Inn is a great place to get away from the crowds and enjoy the scenic views right from your room.

I liked the proximity to the ocean and the views. I liked the personal service at the front desk and that it is locally owned and operated. If you are checking in late I would suggest either checking for establishments that are open late, or grabbing a bite before getting into town as most dining establishments start closing around 8 PM.

Karen is the best hostess server cook owner ever She makes sure everything is wonderful. If you are in the area it is a must stop. We had a great room with harbor view. Great meal Breakfast was a little Rhein compared to Europe standards but nice

Situated above an amazing ocean cove, this Inn offered us an great view on our patio and we listened to the ocean all night. The room was clean and tidy, the King bed was comfortable and the shower provided plenty of hot water. The onsite restaurant The Wave, while providing a wonderful ocean view, left a bit to be desired in the food category and service was slow. One lovely lady appeared to be serving as well as preparing all by herself. The complimentary breakfast was pretty sparse and the coffee was not good. Don't imagine you can get any kind of early checkin cuz the lobby was closed until 302pm.

My husband and I enjoyed meeting Karen, the owner, when we checked in. She renovated the property and she did such a nice job, from the cozy rooms, to the landscaping and finally to the Continental Breakfast which included fresh fruit , bagels and cream cheese, biscotti for your coffee. When I’m in the area again, I’m staying here.

My wife and I travel all over the country and Wharf Master’s Inn is easily in the top 5 stays. It isn’t cheap but it is worth every penny. We started the evening at the Wave Lounge (on site dinner). The cook, server, cleaner, etc for the Lounge (Shar) was phenomenal. She was welcoming, warm and bright. Food was delicious and the view of the ocean can’t be described. Our room, the superior port, had a great view of ocean through the sliding door. We always walk the room to ensure the room is clean and we didn’t find any issues. The in-room jacuzzi was a hit with my wife! The ONLY negative I have for our stay was that we were in the area for only one night. I wish I had time for a week at this place. Do I recommend? Most definitely and we will be telling everyone about our experience. Well done!

The staff was friendly and amazing. They made our stay memorable. We had an ocean view room that had an incredible view. Also, we had a fireplace and large Jacuzzi tub in our room. The room was perfect. They offer breakfast and dinner at the property. We had breakfast there. It was delicious. You can walk down the hill and there’s a cute little restaurant and coffee shop as well.

Amazing location and a lovely hotel! Balcony to enjoy the sun, view and the crash of waves. Everything clean, well designed and beautiful- we needed the fireplace and the hot tub after walking the beach in cold weather. Great breakfast. Slept like a rock!

Ocean views are pulling all the weight in this property (provided you pay more to get ocean view room). Our room was freezing cold, but we couldn't find heater other than electric fireplace which was very loud. Carpet had stains, and bed was not comfortable. But the worst was the front desk customer service and check-in process. They were never there, even during the narrow window when they were supposed to be open. Vending machines were a joke. We bought a bottle of water, machine returned 18$ worth of quarters but when we tried to buy second item it would NOT accept any quarters. Infuriating. Overall, we would not recommend.

After a two hour coastal roadster ride in our 1960 TR3 Triumph, we arrived at the Wharf Master making a rather noisy lobby entrance at their very busy check in time. Rather than being annoyed by the distraction, three staff were most welcoming-- The Lady at the front desk provided the most friendly & professional check in. Cliff helped us get our roadster parked in the best possible spot & when he noticed our battery might be too low to restart he offered a battery charger. The next morning the Lady who served breakfast made that experience most enjoyable as we observed her accomplishing the same with all the other guests. The Desk manager Lady again was exceptional, & Cliff was waiting to jump start our car. The staff serving Wharf Master Guests exceeded expectations in all ways. Thank You for a perfect weekend. The Wharf Mater's Inn is a must stay location if you are planning a trip anywhere near Pt. Arena. Fantastic, beautiful location with cozy and serine vibes. From the stunning views from our balcony to the peaceful courtyard and well-appointed rooms with all the comfort and in room jetted tub make it a relaxing stay. You will feel your shoulders drop from the time you check in. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Also, highly recommend the Charcuterie board which is made to order on the patio with a glass of wine.
