Stayed for my birthday and had an absolute amazing time. We were in a prestige bungalow and utilized the fire place in the patio for smores one night. During the day we played out by the pool and had amazing drinks with pool food. The spa has been the best deep tissue experience I have received in a very long time. Beautiful cafes are located a short three minute walk just outside the property. Would stay here time and time again for a home away from if you are from Southern California.

First the property is gorgeous and the grounds are extremely well maintained and beautiful. The interior design is also perfectly curated to blend modern British cottage meets Spanish style elements. The pastries made on site and available in the coffee shop are excellent. There are some details I thought you may want to know about that could enhance the experience and make it truly a 5 star resort. there is no easy way to order a beverage when at the pool. At any other resort there are servers around checking in on guests. Here I was told I could go into the lobby bar and order something and bring it to the pool...in a wet bathing suit this is not ideal. There is no easy way to get to the pool as there is only one way in/out, so when you leave the pool you have to walk through the main area in order to get to the cottages. asked if there was another route we were told we could "go through the kitchen" Called the front desk several times to get the WiFi password and no response...actually went down to the front desk, we were told the front desk was not answering because they were "in a meeting" 😑 The room overwhelming smelled of campfire. After all the windows open to air it out I asked if someone may be able to come and deodorize the room. A housekeeper dropped off a bottle of febreeze. So I had to DIY deodorize There\'s no trash can near the wet bar/coffee area in your room No towel hooks near the shower No ice available after ten pm…?? This is not a true 5 star…

Beautiful and perfect for our anniversary weekend. Private and quiet. We kept the fireplace aglow all weekend. Bathroom with its rain shower and claw tub and marble floor was elegant. Room had a mission style feel. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Cleanliness top notch. Loved that you didn't have to call a valet for your car. We ate and drank locally but not at the hotel so I can't comment on that aspect.

This has always been one of our favorite hotels, but this time they fell very short of their previous standard. We had no hot water in the shower on our first morning and had to cancel brunch plans and reschedule. While they fixed the problem after several tries, the water never really got warm enough. Our room was near a loading dock and we were awakened early each morning by delivery trucks. The service in the on site restaurant was horrible, took almost an hour to get food. Having to pay for self parking was ridiculous and there were very few spaces available. The manager removed the parking charges for us since we had so many issues with the hot water during our visit. We found that they had added many high end items to the room- like an automatic bidet and Dyson hair dryer, but I think this just added to the price tag on the room and didn’t add any extra value. We will not be returning.

Pros: The Valet and Front Desk staff were friendly. The room was clean and quiet. Cons: You have to use Valet and walk quite a ways to get to your room. It was raining, so not appreciated. The pillows were terrible! We were awake all night trying to sleep on them. The room had a very small desk and chair, no other seating in the room for you to eat or watch TV. Most rooms have at least 2 people occupy the room. Not a well thought out room design. The upgraded Toto toilet keep flushing by itself the entire time. Not an upgrade if it is annoying. The coffee choice was a Nespresso machine which was not a good cup of coffee. I am sure for the money if it was not raining the grounds would be nice. However we did not get to enjoy them.

Beautiful hotel very private and calm . Nice pool even though I would ha e leas cabanas for rent as they were mostly empty and take up one all side of the pool. Staff is great and restaurant is very good over looking the grounds Will come back for sure

Was an updated room but there was no heat source available in the bathroom. Very cold and uncomfortable. Asked for a space heater, said they would get one. Never came, then they said they didn’t have one after all. Also, please get better fake logs for fireplace. The logs were just made of recycled paper and were cheap for such a high end hotel.

From starting at valet, property to front desk, this property is wonderful. The staff is amazing, friendly and attentive. We felt at ease and made our stay one of the best we’ve had in San Diego . We had an amazing deal for weekday stay and hope it stays that’s way. The room we had was newly renovated and are completing their renovations. We hope to come back soon.

Visually, the Inn is a gem. The hotel staff is gracious and well trained. The dining room staff was lax, and could use a bit more training. Decor is appealing and comfortable without being ostentatious. My room might be improved by a reading light over the bed, and a dressing light over the bathroom mirror. Only complaint: on a chilly night, there was inadequate heating. To sleep, I wore my gown, robe, a heavy sweater, and my coat. A call to the desk brought a lovely lady who checked the controls and told me it would eventually warm up. The room never warmed up. I did not bathe in the morning because of the cold. The Inn needs a 24-hour maintenance person. I appreciated the subtle niceties in the room and the thoughtful courteous attention of the personnel, from the parking valet, maid service, and registration desk.

Only luke-warm water in shower. The heating and air conditioning unit was loud and shutting off and on all night to regulate temperature. Kept us awake or woke us up every time.

Second time coming here. It was as relaxing, quiet, and beautiful as the first time. The property is lush with gorgeous landscaping, and if you want quiet and peaceful, this is the place. Plus the shower is huge and amazing. We also like the style of the recent renovations

My family and I stayed at Rancho Santa Fe for a birthday milestone trip. The bungalows are beautifully furnished and spacious. I slept really well. The bathroom has the Toto Japanese automatic toilet. The bungalows have fireplaces and I had a fire in my room several nights -the engineer comes in and lights the fire for you. There was a problem with my hot water and I was moved to a new bungalow and got a credit back.It was a good base to explore the North county. This would be perfect for a honeymoon, baby moon, or family gathering. We had several meals at Lillian's - the food is very tasty and the service is friendly and prompt. When you work out the front door, it's a short walk into town. We had dinner at the Rancho Santa Fe Bistro, and then had dinner twice at Nick & G's. Nick & G's had a lovely and reasonably priced New Year's Eve prix fixe menu and handed out glasses of champagne for the ball drop at 9PM. Would happily stay here again.

Beautiful and perfect for our anniversary weekend. Private and quiet. We kept the fireplace aglow all weekend. Bathroom with its rain shower and claw tub and marble floor was elegant. Room had a mission style feel. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Cleanliness top notch. Loved that you didn't have to call a valet for your car. We ate and drank locally but not at the hotel so I can't comment on that aspect.

Room 216 was in a gully. Stairs everywhere. Room not well appointed. One vanity in bath with no place to set items. Only small mirror No place to sit down with makeup etc. Service in restaurant very slow. 30 minutes for drinks to arrive after ordering. Food at Lillian’s was very good. The Inn is not worth the price they charged for our Junior Suite. Poor value for price. Probably won’t stay there again.

Pros: The Valet and Front Desk staff were friendly. The room was clean and quiet. Cons: You have to use Valet and walk quite a ways to get to your room. It was raining, so not appreciated. The pillows were terrible! We were awake all night trying to sleep on them. The room had a very small desk and chair, no other seating in the room for you to eat or watch TV. Most rooms have at least 2 people occupy the room. Not a well thought out room design. The upgraded Toto toilet keep flushing by itself the entire time. Not an upgrade if it is annoying. The coffee choice was a Nespresso machine which was not a good cup of coffee. I am sure for the money if it was not raining the grounds would be nice. However we did not get to enjoy them.

The room was average at best with a big price tag. No room number was even on the door. Flooring was waffling and cheaply done. I was shocked honestly at how poorly the entire experience was. I was gifting myself with a nice night at a nice hotel on my business trip, boy was that a mistake.

I love staying in this hotel. They have historical building, very well maintained. The room is breathtaking interior design with every single detail in the room. Highly recommend and will come back again.

The property was lovely. We stayed in a king bungalow. The room was well designed and well appointed with nice touches such as a toto toilet, dyson air blade, and nice nespresso. The gardens and common areas were gorgeous and well kept. Food at the bar and restaurant was slow. Very slow. All three times we dined on property were problematic. At lunch, we waited 30 minutes for our entrees after getting the salad. At dinner, we waited 40 minutes from starter until second course. Things happen in the kitchen, but we were disappointed with how the staff simply ignored the problem, leaving us to repeatedly remind and inquire about our food. A simple, "we apologize, our kitchen is backed-up" would have been nice. You\'d expect more polished service at this level of hotel. We also had a check-in hiccup where a proper credit card wasn\'t placed on file, causing the waiter to come back and say out loud "your credit card has insufficient funds" upon charging lunch to the room. They could use some training on how to talk to guests. The experience was quite crude. The front desk had forgot to assign a credit card for incidentals. I also shared this information with the hotel via their survey feedback. It has been over a week with no response. I find this disappointing.

First the property is gorgeous and the grounds are extremely well maintained and beautiful. The interior design is also perfectly curated to blend modern British cottage meets Spanish style elements. The pastries made on site and available in the coffee shop are excellent. There are some details I thought you may want to know about that could enhance the experience and make it truly a 5 star resort. there is no easy way to order a beverage when at the pool. At any other resort there are servers around checking in on guests. Here I was told I could go into the lobby bar and order something and bring it to the pool...in a wet bathing suit this is not ideal. There is no easy way to get to the pool as there is only one way in/out, so when you leave the pool you have to walk through the main area in order to get to the cottages. asked if there was another route we were told we could "go through the kitchen" Called the front desk several times to get the WiFi password and no response...actually went down to the front desk, we were told the front desk was not answering because they were "in a meeting" 😑 The room overwhelming smelled of campfire. After all the windows open to air it out I asked if someone may be able to come and deodorize the room. A housekeeper dropped off a bottle of febreeze. So I had to DIY deodorize There\'s no trash can near the wet bar/coffee area in your room No towel hooks near the shower No ice available after ten pm…?? This is not a true 5 star…

This has always been one of our favorite hotels, but this time they fell very short of their previous standard. We had no hot water in the shower on our first morning and had to cancel brunch plans and reschedule. While they fixed the problem after several tries, the water never really got warm enough. Our room was near a loading dock and we were awakened early each morning by delivery trucks. The service in the on site restaurant was horrible, took almost an hour to get food. Having to pay for self parking was ridiculous and there were very few spaces available. The manager removed the parking charges for us since we had so many issues with the hot water during our visit. We found that they had added many high end items to the room- like an automatic bidet and Dyson hair dryer, but I think this just added to the price tag on the room and didn’t add any extra value. We will not be returning.

I couldn’t rave about our experience more at the Inn. The Inn is a beautiful spot convenient to, but away from the hectic nature of coastal San Diego. Every luxurious amenity was provided for our comfort. Tamara (at the front desk) was exceptional. Her care and concern was evident in every detail. I can not wait to return!

Beautifully remodeled property. Very quiet and romantic and restaurant was outstanding.

Amazing room in the garden cottage. Very cozy fireplace , quiet and a short walk to dinner. Concierge Alessia S was outstanding and made our stay even better. Dinner at Lillians was fantastic as was our waiter Sam. Overall 5 stars and we will be back.

Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is a property I have stayed at previously, which made this visit especially disappointing given the expectations set by that prior experience. The setting and grounds are undeniably beautiful, but the overall stay did not consistently reflect a luxury-level experience. Check-in was impersonal and transactional. Despite there being no line or apparent activity, we were quickly handed room keys after providing a credit card, with no acknowledgment of the occasion noted on the reservation, no welcome drink included, and no engagement about the stay. The Magnolia Cottage was spacious and well appointed, but the patio was not clean upon arrival and required attention after previous guest use. The cottage was booked specifically for the large private patio, which was a key reason for selecting this room type. More significantly, the patio backed directly to an active construction site that was not disclosed at booking or during check-in. Construction began before 7 AM on the first morning and continued throughout the stay, making the outdoor space largely unusable. While construction may be outside the hotel’s control, transparency prior to arrival would have been important for setting expectations. Concerns raised with the front desk were acknowledged and noted, but no resolution or follow-up was provided during the stay. Overall, this stay did not align with expectations based on prior experience, room category, or the property’s luxury positioning.
