Went to an A's game. Pulled up and had the car valet parked ($30 with in and out privileges). Hotel is a riverboat with a very cool restaurant & bar. Many bars and restaurants in old town within a couple of blocks. Will definitely stay again.

Nice location. Very busy area on weekends. Staff never answer phone calls when calling reception. Staff is friendly. Best to use available valet parking $30.00 for 24 hours. Walking areas on both sides of Sacramento River, clean, quiet and safe!

The property itself is great. Did not realize it was a boat when made the reservation, but was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The biggest pain was parking, there was a public ramp just down the street, but it was not cheap. The area right around the boat was Old Sacramento, it was not the cleanest area and I am not sure how safe it would be at night. There were plenty of choices to eat and shop.

Why this place isn’t on every adventurous traveler’s must see list is unfathomable. The restoration is very admirable and the riverboat fantasy is intense. They seriously need to figure out parking, but otherwise it’s an historic gem that should be heralded on every travel site.

No elevator. Sea lions on the river noisy all night. Parking is not obvious. Political rally on the river obnoxious. View is nice. Balcony seating is nice. Location great for Old Town. Lots of unhinged hang around entrance to ramp. Ramp itself is very uneven planks, not great for elderly people.

Great stay if you are looking for something a little different! I had an injury and our room was 2 floors up (no elevator). It was difficult for me to do stairs. Staff kindly offered us a room change to the floor where the lobby is. We were very grateful. Was a cool place to stay on the water. Rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. Old town Sacramento was a cute, fun town to explore just outside the boat/hotel.

Convenient to the ballpark. The room was nice. Valet parking was ok. They could use more staff. We waited about forty minutes in the heat. We requested the car when we checked out. We huddled in the shade of a tree waiting for the car. They could put benches out there.

Chemical cleaning smell throughout the property so strong I had to wrap my face in a towel to be able to sleep. Windows don’t open, so no way to air out the room. The city side rooms are at the sidewalk level, so little privacy. Bathroom walls with what appears to be blood and mold. Rooms are tiny. The photos in their listing are not accurate. The whole place is the riverboat. There is not a separate hotel. I have photos and the app isn’t letting me upload them. I offered to send them to management and received no response. The front desk staff was very nice and allowed me to cancel my second night of the reservation with no hassle.

Highly disappointed with this hotel. Two nights cost me $427. I thought it was cool to stay on a refurbished steamboat but it felt dirty, loud and uncomfortable. Front desk staff were less than friendly and homeless people added to the outside decor. The room wasn't level, sligtly slanted. Imagine using the restroom in the middle of the night. I almost stumbled into the front door. Its like being drunk without drinking.

Not worth the money. This place needs renovation and deep cleaning. The bathroom in the room wasn’t even clean. The room door required maintenance to come and open because the battery was dead, had to wait under the rain to get to my room. Disappointing stay!

Great atmosphere and although rooms are small they are a fun experience. Housekeeping really needs to step up , the previous guest left eyelashes and hair on the bathroom shelf next to drinking glasses. We asked to have the room cleaned and they just removed the hair and lashes and didn’t clean the rest of the room . Unsure if the drinking glasses were replaced or not . Front desk was not responsive to the room not being cleaned. I was told housekeeping only had one person and didn’t get to it . Bartender was great , food was good .

Small room with low ceilings, but that was expected for a repurposed boat. AC did not work, and it was hot all night. A small fan was in room, that helped. Great view of the river and sea lions. Great location

The room was clean. The bed was not very comfortable and a little squeaky. The seals near by barked all night and the boat lighting was too bright making our room lit up even with all the lights off and blinds closed.

This was such a great experience. The Delta King is a beautifuly restored River Boat. The Bar and Restaurant were gorgeous and the staircase is amazing. The staff were all very kind and hospitable. The reason for 4 stars…I had booked 2 riverview Queen staterooms. I paid for both rooms. When we arrived at 3:30(a little earlier than check in) our room was ready but our friends room wasn’t. That was no problem. All of us went to our room and waited for their room to be finished. We sat at the nice tables and looked at the river. About 5:00 our friend went down to see if their room was ready. They were unsure if the room was cleaned. Our friend asked for the key to check and it was indeed clean. They got to go to their room and it was all good. When we went to their room, we found it was twice as big as ours and had a desk and chair as well as a large bathroom. Our room was so small it was hard to walk between the bed and amouire. If two rooms are booked by the same person for the same night for the same room, they should be the same. I complained, but they didn’t have any of the larger rooms available. Our room #’s were 522 and 430. That being said, I loved the whole vibe and would stay there again!

The Delta King is like 100 years old, so the facilities, while small, were about what you would expect for being an old steamboat turned into a hotel. It's very cool & unique but the spaces and doorways are tiny and obviously old-fashioned, so plan accordingly. The bed was not very comfortable and the bathroom didn't even come with soap, though, so that was a bit disappointing. The staff was friendly and the bar was a great spot to sit & enjoy some cocktails & yummy food. FYI - we did NOT expect the sea lions and how much noise they made literally ALL night long. I guess that's why there were ear plugs left next to the bed. Even with the ear plugs and white noise on our phone, you could still hear the sea lions barking all night. That being said, it's a very unique stay.

First time staying at Delta when in Sacramento. Was excited to try this riverboat hotel. CHECK IN clerk attitude was TERRIBLE ! Absolutely rude and aweful. Have great things to say about bar staff and restaurant staff. BUT Angela at front desk was rudest young woman I’ve encountered in a long time. so disappointing. We walked in and her greeting was terrible. As if annoyed with us. Not a hello or a welcome. Her statement “well it would be nice if you would start by telling me your name”….. I was so taken aback by this rude greeting. It got worse from there. I have traveled far and wide. This young women at front desk was deplorable. Rest of staff was GREAT! Lastly, I went to ask when Valet opened in morning , then asked her name. She said “oh, am I going to get a complaint?”….. I said maybe. She said “ that’s just fine”. Sadly this is the person welcoming thier guests. The room was clean and quaint. Valet good. Front desk needs hospitality training.

Have great things to say about bar staff and restaurant staff. BUT Angela at front desk was rudest young woman I’ve encountered in a long time. so disappointing. We walked in and her greeting was terrible. As if annoyed with us. Not a hello or a welcome. Her statement “well it would be nice if you would start by telling me your name”….. I was so taken aback by this rude greeting. It got worse from there. I have traveled far and wide. This young women at front desk was deplorable. Rest of staff was GREAT! Lastly, I went to ask when Valet opened in morning , then asked her name. She said “oh, am I going to get a complaint?”….. I said maybe. She said “ that’s just fine”. Sadly this is the person welcoming thier guests. The room was clean and quaint. Valet good. Front desk needs hospitality training.

Came early and staff made extra effort to have rooms ready so we could check in (Angel). Room staff available to provide decaf coffee, and provided help in finding areas around hotel (Karen). Nice area for location, on river and fun view. Bed comfortable. Very clean.

The 2 day stay w/3 couples started out very good. We had the most outstanding service by the check in staff, Apple and Dee and Mendy in the bar. We were having cocktails and playing cards on the patio. She was very attentive and took care of us. The next night we had 2 different bar staff (Monday night, very slow, only 3 /4 sets of customers. The bartender was the rudest person I have ever encountered. He would not wait on us, made us come in to order. Also, wouldn’t deliver to our outside table. At one point he came out and took our empties, which we had to bus ourselves, never looked at us or asked if we wanted more. When we returned about 8:00 to play cards he said we weren’t allowed to play in the restricted area near the restaurant. Only one table was occupied. We played for hours the night before. Unfortunately he is the only reason the rating isn’t higher.

Very convenient for A’s baseball. Clean well kept. This is an old boat . rooms are small. Old Sacramento perhaps not as developed as we had hoped for . convenient access however to downtown. Nice views in the morning, looking out over the river.

We had a wonderful romantic stay! It’s definitely something you do for the experience not because there aren’t nicer hotels available. The staterooms are cozy but supplied everything needed. We loved walking along the outer deck before bed and seeing the sea lions on the docks and the city lights reflecting on the river. Breakfast at the Pilothouse was delicious. The service was fantastic all around. Location can’t be beat for ease of walking around old town.

The property itself is great. Did not realize it was a boat when made the reservation, but was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The biggest pain was parking, there was a public ramp just down the street, but it was not cheap. The area right around the boat was Old Sacramento, it was not the cleanest area and I am not sure how safe it would be at night. There were plenty of choices to eat and shop.

This is one of my favorite places to stay in all of the U.S. It's not just a hotel, it's a throwback to a bygone day. It's in Old Sacramento right now to the scenic yellow Tower Bridge — so once you check out the boat, be sure to walk around and enjoy the quaint shops and restaurants immediately adjacent to the boat. I go to Sacramento simply to stay on the Delta King! The locals know what a gem it is — they solve mysteries on it, school kids come to check it out and people regularly stop their strolls to take photos in front of it. Stay there, it will be a great memory.

This was an excellent choice for downtown Sacramento. The room was a classic on a riverboat. The meals in the restaurant were very good and service was friendly and efficient. It was an easy 1/2 mile walk to Sutter Health Field where the A's will be playing their home games through 2027.

Old Sacramento is a historical little town with wood walkways, old saloons, lots of different shops to explore. Delta King fits right in and is a unique place to stay right on the river and within easy walking distance to everything.

Oh my it was wonderful. From the valet’s friendly welcome to check-in staff everything was first class. The pinnacle for us was the dinner. Nigel was the best server ever. We live in Las Vegas and are used to 5 star restaurants and our experience was absolutely amazing. Thank you

We liked most things about this hotel. Nice view of the Sacramento River. Easy walk to Old Town Sacramento. Clean room. Very nice shower. Did not care much for the Pilothouse, the on site restaurant. Way overpriced for very plain breakfast. Bland eggs Benedict for $25 and $15 for a bowl of oatmeal that was nothing special. We will return to the hotel, though, for the beautiful and quaint accommodations and location. Just not the restaurant.

I had always wanted to stay on the Delta King, and it turned out to be a really fun and memorable experience. The location was super convenient, and one of the best parts was being able to just sit out on the lower deck and enjoy the atmosphere of the river and Old Sacramento. That said, there were a few drawbacks. The rooms did not provide shampoo, which was a huge inconvenience for an overnight stay. The valet parking also took more time than expected—it would have been much easier to have standard come-and-go parking instead of waiting for the valet, especially when multiple cars were ahead. On the positive side, breakfast was very good and the bar had a nice atmosphere. The only hiccup there was that my husband ordered a pale ale but was served an IPA instead. Overall, I’m glad I finally got the chance to stay here. It’s a unique spot with plenty of charm, though a few small improvements could make the experience even better.

Coming in knowing you’re staying on a classic river paddle boat built in 1927 helps when you find uneven and sometimes small spaces. But we really loved our stay. There’s something special about this ship and the location in Old Town Sacramento can’t be beat. My suggestion is you must try the food at the bar. Excellent.

Where to START!? 1st, we USED to get a breakfast voucher for each night's stay, now it's just a drink voucher. The sea lions BARKING most of the day, & ALL through the night (which is why they provide ear plugs, but those are NOT that helpful if you're staying riverside), REALLY detracted from the experience! Additionally, we called WEEKS ahead to reserve our favorite room (we've stayed here multiple times), but found that, upon arrival, it was given away & NOT available - soooooooo DISAPPOINTING!! Also, there USED to be a table & chairs at the stern of the 4th deck (where our room was located), where my wife & I would sit & enjoy an adult beverage whilst watching the boats, & the sunset, behind the backdrop of a beautifully illuminated bridge - that table & chairs are no longer there. Overall, NOT the immensely enjoyable experience it once was, so we will not likely return until, AT the very LEAST, the SEA LIONS are GONE - those noisy mammals are a TOTAL DEAL BREAKER, at least for us...
