The motel had a worker using loud tools at midnight. We could not sleep and after getting in after an all days drive we had to go to front desk to let them know. They acted like they didn’t know they had someone still working in a room knowing all their tools were outside and it was a downstairs room. The room smelled like fabuloso (cleaning stuff) when we got in it. There is no microwave and no hair dryer in the room. We didn’t get offered room service and there was not a do not disturb tag to place on the door. If you don’t mind staying on the 2nd floor and having the airplanes flying right above you, then it’s for you. The area doesn’t feel so safe as it’s in a noisy area and not very clean. Lots of traffic area.

They did not have a microwave anywhere. I didn't see the lack of it in reviewing the room, and not even 1 in a common area. You couldn't make even a cup of tea. For what did i pay? It was beyond basic, with the towels stacked on top of the toilet, yet the bathroom had space to put a towel rack. I couldn't use those on my body. The room had water on the floor like they just sprayed it down before i had access. I saw a roach in the early morning befoe daybreak. They have a sign saying to tip the cleaning staff. For what? What did they do? I had not ssen a cleaning staff even once in 2 days. The man who check me in was very pleasant and welcoming. That is the best i can say about that place. I will sleep in the rented car somewhere before i ever use that place ever again. Single handedly the worst place i have ever been.

With its proximity to the airport & rail line it is very difficult to get a good nights sleep at this location. There were also a few sketchy characters around. The car park though is very well lit & there are swathe of security cameras

The hotel stay wasn’t bad at all. It was pretty cheap money wise. I like the fact that they didn’t have carpet. The location was close to everything. The only couple downsides are there’s no microwaves in this building, the planes fly by all day and night. If you’re there for more than a day or two that kind of becomes annoying. The staff are great and attentive. If you ask for stuff they will make sure you have it.

For a Motel 6 near a major airport, it wasn't bad. The hotel is old and a run down. But the room was clean and comfortable, could have used a microwave in the room. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful.

This was the worst hotel I have ever been in. We arrived at midnight due to flight delays and had it been any earlier we would not have stayed even one night. The entire room had sticky dirty floors and surfaces. It smelled so bad of pee. I wouldn't allow my son to use the bathroom because it was so dirty. The beds had stains on them. None of the outlets worked. I put all of out clothes and shoes in a trash bag because I was very very afraid of bed beds based on the condition of the room. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The floor in our room was absolutely filthy. I took my shoes off by the bathroom and walked to the bed - my feet were BLACK just from walking 10 feet. There was visible dirt on the bathroom floor.

An extremely terrifying experience, I couldn't sleep because of so many cockroaches that were on the floor and on the walls, the cockroaches almost got into my bed, a totally unhealthy place. =(

The first thing that hit us when we opened the door was the musty smell of the room. Even after having left the window open for like 5 hours, the smell could not be mitigated. The room itself was not spectacular. There were hairs on the towels, water spilled on the floor, the AC unit looks like it was installed in the 80s and never updated or serviced, and the paint looked old and dirty. The TV worked but didn't change channels. Oh, and who could forget the constant plane and train noise at all hours of the day. You're better off sleeping at the airport, at least they have better sound proofing. After this stay I'm never setting foot again on a Motel 6.

Provides the basic necessities, it's a little dated, on par with the budget price. One huge bonus is for airplane spotters, the motel is across the street from the San Diego airport runway and you can spot planes landing almost directly over the motel. Try to get a room with a balcony to watch them. Noise was not an issue getting to sleep.

I considered finding another place as the walls were paper thin, the overhead planes would rumble the building and the room was clean but the vibe felt dirty if that makes sense. It was too busy to find anywhere else. My last evening at my room I went out for dinner and when I returned I found my door open! After informing the staff they looked over their security cams and assured no one had opened or entered- stating that “the doors just need to be closed properly”. Never experienced that before at any motel/hotel. Staff was good but it’s certainly not a place to relax if that’s your intention.

This property would get a lot better rating if one could actually sleep in it. The walls and floors and ceilings are paper thin so you can hear the other guests all night. Except when the jets come by every couple minutes. There is absolutely no noise mitigation in this hotel. It was a nightmare

My stay was one night and it was good. I was prepared for the overflights from the airport nearby so it wasn’t a problem for me. In my room, the lights next to the bed didn’t work. The lamp on the desk had no bulb so I was dependent on the main overhead lights. There was water under the floor tile in the bathroom so when you step there the water came up and wet your feet. These things were inconvenient but didn’t affect my stay much.

We got to the hotel at 2:30 hoping to snag a room early. Luckily the very nice lady at the desk said ours wasnt, but she did have one we could take. Great!! Check in was smooth, no issues. Got to the room and it wreaked horribly bad of whatever cleaner had been used. As if i had been dumped on every surface. Room was clean, beds made. None of the plugs in the bathroom worked. No clue where the tv remote was. Very noisy location, upstairs guest ran laps all night and early am there was a ton of people outside of the room talking very loudly.

Really appreciate the location from the airport! I like to sleep in as long as I can before heading to the airport and this Motel makes that possible. After all my traveling before heading home, the extra rest is a huge welcome!

I really liked it there. The biggest convenience about is its close the airport. The room i stayed was totally remodeled. So the picture is what you got, its nice when things are updated. This was my first time in san diego or california. I need to come back it was nice there. Easy acess to the little tours on boat, and midway was close by. The one thing i disliked was the music playing outside, and it might not have been bad but the bass was up. All i can say is turn that crap off no one wants to hear that on vacation wear earbuds if you need music and work, besides that ill probably be back in the future.

Economical, with basic but adequate facilities. Generally clean but definitely a no-frills selection. Hotel is directly under the flight path of the neighboring airport. The rooms sound-proof to a reasonable extend although you can still hear the sounds of a passing plane. It is very walkable to the nearby Little Italy district that offer plentiful dinning choices, and also walkable distance to the Waterfront area that is rich with tourist attractions.

The staff we met were bored and not overly helpful or friendly. There was no coffee in the morning, just messy remains. Nothing in the room to make tea or coffee. The whole experience was a sad Spartan affair. It's a shame because it's a fantastic site, USS Midway, Little Italy, airport and interstate all nearby. All it needs to make it a great place is a few pictures in the rooms, a few more plants and some enthusiasm.

Staff was very efficient and friendly. Room was pretty clean with the exception of the bed spread and the bathroom outlet not working. The room was also updated as well. The surrounding area was fine during the day to walk down to the boats or Little Italy. During the night it didn’t feel as safe. Used a ride share to get into Little Italy for dinner etc.

Front desk staff the man was great and friendly. Our blankets had cigarettes burn holes in them straight from housekeeping, we asked for extra bc the room was cold. Neighbors next door were noisy and smoking cigarettes right outside our door. Biggest frustration not having continental breakfast because the nearest thing to get to eat was half a mile away Jack-in-the-Box walking by foot, but closed early in the morning because of the homeless people in the area. It was all locked up.

The only thing this motel had going for it was the close proximity to MCRD and the bay tourist area. It was filthy.

Very good experience I would definitely recommend. Easy checkin, rooms were very nice for the price point. This is the perfect economy play for a place to crash for a night. Bonus is that you can watch the planes landing at the airport. Of course the is some noise from the airplanes but it’s not too bad. The WiFi was good and they gave me a free late checkout as well as I needed to get some work done. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks.

Parking was plentiful and convenient. Evening staff (when I checked in) was helpful and friendly. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The AC worked well. Only slight issue was the shower's water pressure wasn't as strong as I like. Water heated up quick and remained hot so wasn't that big a deal.

For the most part, this stay was okay. With the expectation you have a place to sleep and take a bath. Issues that I faced during this stay: 1. The ac in the room did not get as cold as the temp on the unit. I left it at the lowest setting of 60 for the entire day and when I returned it was still not cold.in the room. I am sure it was closer to 70 degrees at coldest. 2. The water pressure in the shower was barely a trickle. It took forever to wash shampoo out of my hair, and mind you my hair is rather short. 3. This last one concerned me a little. At night a tiny mouse came through under the door, I chased it out and had to put a towel at the base of yhe door. When I checked out I notified the front desk to seal the bottom of the door. Other than that this hotel was enough for 2 nights and was pretty much all I needed.
