Excellent service, and a really neat location. Parking was definitely limited though. They had a two level indoor garage, and it was quite tight. We had a midsize car and it worked alright. If you have a larger SUV or truck, you'd want to show up earlier in the evening to get a larger parking slot in the garage .

This is a nice hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean and safe. The roof top patio is nice. The parking situation is tricky but it’s free. I would stay again for sure.

This is a great budget friendly hotel in a great location. Several restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc to walk to. The hotel is as advertised. A great value for a short stay. Property does feel dated, the hallways could use a refresh, and it has an older elevator that curiously is slow with only a short number of levels. The room was quite adequate and comfortable. I had the room with the sofa. I recommend it for additional square footage and extra seating area. Room was clean and comfortable as expected. My only complaint was the water pressure from the shower. It was extremely low pressure. Parking is a huge plus considering it is included in the price. I would stay again, but at this price point, there are other options to consider. But, if parking and location is a priority, then this is a definitely great option.

This was a great location for our trip! We really enjoyed the rooftop patio, and with our room placement, we were able to watch the 4th of July fireworks without having to leave our room! We did have a little trouble with our key cards, but it wasn't a terrible inconvenience.

Excellent location! Very friendly staff! The parking is tight but very doable and they are very accommodating with it. The garden and the rooftop are added bonuses. The rooms aren’t anything special but they are clean and comfortable. The hotel is very Sam Francisco and quaint. I enjoyed it very much.

The hotel is in the Marina District. You can walk throught the ocean, markets and restaurants, laundry also walkin distance. Parking is limited but receptionists help about it. There is no laundry in the hotel, but next to the hotel there is a public laundry. Ice and coke machine in the corridor Big refrigerator and coffee machine in the room. No slippers and breakfast Everyday they tidy your room

The room was clean and we had enough room. They advertised breakfast and they said they stopped doing that last year. That was one factor why we chose that hotel. So that info needs updated. Even showed pics of breakfast being served.

Hotel was fine; 3rd floor lounge and balcony were too small to accommodate more than 2 people; great value for tourist district given the guaranteed parking. No on-site breakfast but they offer local restaurant breakfast discounts. Would stay again.

I chose a place with parking for 4th of July festivities. They did not have parking available. I found street parking and went into the room. Toenails and hair on the bed. Bed like concrete. No working wifi. Left immediately.

The photos are NOT accurate. The carpets were filthy. The room was much smaller than what appears in the photos. The room was sprayed with a potent spray to cover the dirty conditions. I did not feel safe. DO NOT STAY HERE!! I also purchased the travel insurance through hotels.com which was a joke. I paid $50 and was only refunded $100 from my cancelation. There are a million better places to stay. I was forced to book this hotel due to DreamForce and paid almost $1000 for two nights and did not stay. I travel to SF 2x a month for work and have stayed in very nice hotels and humble hotels. My top priority is safety and cleanliness, of which this hotel has neither. Please please please do not stay here.

Property rated as 8.2. no way! Room we got had sink outside bathroom and you could touch all 4 walls inside bathroom without moving your feet. photos showed a couch, no room for one in our room. Not a single photo showed a room like ours was possible. I had Expedia on the fone to move hotel as not what was represented but it was already late at night and we had driven 12 hours to get there. Toughed it out. I was very worried about losing the parking spot as it was VERY VERY limited for the number of rooms and no nearby parking for any amount of money!.

Great stay. I loved the place. Perfect for me. Walls are thin, you can hear noise from the other guests and traffic from Lombard street. I sleep like a rock so that did not affect me. But if you wake up easily this might not be the place for u. This place worked for me due to the proximity of many attractions in the city.

The beds are extremely hard, staff was very nice and communicated to me that the mattress are new that's why they're hard. However, I believe the mattress are just hard. I used extra pillows to sleep on, that helped. I recommend the hotel installing some padding to the mattress tops. Everything else was excellent!

We stayed in a suite. I chose this place because it came with parking included and price was very reasonable. The AC/Heater worked great, the water pressure was great, the rooms were cozy, clean and spacious, microwave was huge, the roof patio was very cool, and the customer service went above and beyond! I would definitely stay here again!

The staff were polite and accommodating to the best of their ability. The room I had was on the 1st floor and facing the street, I heard every car, truck, emergency vehicle and conversation that went by. If you’re a light sleeper you should ask for a room towards the back when booking. The curtains in my room for not completely close on the ends so you could see up into the room from the street ( yes I went outside and looked) so I had to pin the curtain to the wall. Other than that it was a nice clean room with a comfy bed in a good location. Parking is 1st come 1st serve so get there early.

Very good location to visit SF tourist areas while avoiding crowd. Local and hop on busses are right outside the hotel. Safeway is 15 min walk. The hotel itself is old and amenities quite dated, however room service is provided every day. Front desk staff are also very helpful.

I called the property to cancel due to illness three days before check in, Tessa said wait a day for expedia to reach out to us, she said she would cancel but it’s thru expedia so we have to wait, I called back the next day first to expedia then the property they put it off on one another. they denied our request to reschedule or cancel. Sheisty.

Excellent location and right on the bus line. Relatively quiet for the city. We were in the suite, which was very spacious. Friendly and helpful staff.

The location of this hotel made it worth the stay. it's a few blocks from the Marina District with lots of dining and shopping. It's a little over a mile from Pier 39 and the Uber ride was quick to get there. There are 3-4 coffee shops easily walkable for breakfast. It is an older hotel with low water pressure and nothing fancy, but it is clean and serves its purpose nicely.

Very good location to visit SF tourist areas while avoiding crowd. Local and hop on busses are right outside the hotel. Safeway is 15 min walk. The hotel itself is old and amenities quite dated, however room service is provided every day. Front desk staff are also very helpful.

Neighbourhood: Fairly clean, mostly just have to worry about dog-owners not picking up. 10-15 min walk to numerous areas with lots of restaurants (Union St, Chestnut St, Polk St, Ghirardelli Square). Transit: Excellent. Bus stop directly in front and across the street. You can get to/from the airport with a bus and train ride (about 60-90 min). Front Desk: I made requests for quiet room with a handheld showerhead, and they were able to accommodate by purchasing a showerhead since the available room didn't have one pre-installed. They also had electric kettles and plastic cutlery upon request. My room was above the garden, and there were people smoking weed there and it was getting into the room. After I brought it up to them (smoking is permissible on grounds, just not in rooms), they took care of it. Room: A/C / heater unit was a bit dusty, and turning it on triggered my allergies. The room shows its wear & tear, but clean and comfortable. The provided toiletries are harsh on the skin & hair, and no body lotion is provided. Conditioner wasn't strong enough. You can still hear people above and beside you, but not what they're saying if they're speaking average volume level. Conclusion: I would stay here again for the value and area.

Great location, reasonable price. Both Muni and Big Bus stop right outside the front door, making getting around the city very easy. Comfortable walking distance to Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf, the world's crookedest street, and the Bay. Good, reasonably priced food is available nearby. John at the front desk was wonderfully helpful, letting us check in early and giving us a quiet room and a discount on Big Bus tickets. Can't quite give it a full 5 stars because the heater needed maintenance (loud and smelly) and a couple of other things didn't work properly. Also, this part of Lombard gets noisy (our room location on the back helped a lot). Would give it 4.5 stars if we could.

This is a great budget friendly hotel in a great location. Several restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc to walk to. The hotel is as advertised. A great value for a short stay. Property does feel dated, the hallways could use a refresh, and it has an older elevator that curiously is slow with only a short number of levels. The room was quite adequate and comfortable. I had the room with the sofa. I recommend it for additional square footage and extra seating area. Room was clean and comfortable as expected. My only complaint was the water pressure from the shower. It was extremely low pressure. Parking is a huge plus considering it is included in the price. I would stay again, but at this price point, there are other options to consider. But, if parking and location is a priority, then this is a definitely great option.

This property workout out perfect for what we needed it for ! Me and my partner decided to go bar hoping and it was at a great location to do so !! We were able to walk there and back with no issues. Rooms were clean and comfy ! I have 0 complaints enjoyed my stay at this property !!

The room was clean and we had enough room. They advertised breakfast and they said they stopped doing that last year. That was one factor why we chose that hotel. So that info needs updated. Even showed pics of breakfast being served.

Hotel was fine; 3rd floor lounge and balcony were too small to accommodate more than 2 people; great value for tourist district given the guaranteed parking. No on-site breakfast but they offer local restaurant breakfast discounts. Would stay again.

we stayed for a couple of weeks, enjoyed the stay, good access to touristic attractions, beach and amenities. The staff were very helpful, the rooms and place were kept clean. Challenge with some days in terms of finding enough parking which is on first come first served basis and overflow occurred mostly around weekends. Whilst the hotel does not look as new as others we have experienced but it is well kept One negative I'd highlight is the hotel remains accessible day and night without need to use card access to the hotel or hotel floors or the lifts which poses security concern particularly at night when reception is shut down

The main reason we chose Buena Vista was for the free onsite parking. That was GREAT! Also a really solid location to walk to Polk Street, famous section of Lombard street and Pier 39 + 33 (if you don’t mind some hills). Check-in was bizarre- there was a staff member behind the counter but they could not check you in. You had to interact with a Kiosk with a person on Zoom- strange. Rooms were fine- though the blankets were thin. If you get cold make sure to bring layers to sleep in.
