Had a lovely stay. Staff was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed happy hour and continental breakfast. The hallways are filled with historic photographs. Bonus - complimentary Sunday NY Times. Only inconvenience is difficult street parking, but there's a lot across the street.

Beautiful clean old hotel with free breakfast and convenient parking. It looked like they were doing some remodeling though and there was a mini fridge in the hall leading to the fire escape emergency exit next to our room. Room was tidy and cozy but small however this was expected as we got a room not a suite. We went to breakfast a bit later ~9 and they had all the staples(cereal, activia, bagels, sausage links, etc) however there were only a few hard boiled eggs left and they were not restocked even after a few more guests came in after us. I found it funny that they used paper dishes and plastic cutlery because it would seem they would have a lot more time to address the breakfast bar but it was still serviceable. For any drawbacks this hotel might have however it makes up for in charm, style, and location. There is a parking lot right across the street and upper Haight is a block away. All the staff were polite as well! Highly recommend if you plan to be in this part of town.

Very nice hotel with thoughtful amenities like a wine bar happy hour and a good breakfast. Located in a great area for walking (Golden Gate Park across the street, and that Haight/Ashbury a couple of blocks away). Good place to stay for sports as the N Train, three blocks away, takes you directly to Oracle Park (and from there an easy walk to the Chase Center).

Poor sound insulation. Easy to hear snoring in other rooms. Ugly carpeting in rooms and hallways. Nice vintage, historic feeling. Cool photos on the walls. Free breakfast is great.

Right next to the park and skate park and had me in a room directly outside the bright hotel sign. Rugs were stained and worn, the room needs a refresh of paint and lighting which were dated.

The carpet in the room was heavily stained and there was hair in the shower at check in. The front desk was not overly helpful or welcoming. The free breakfast was very basic and the yogurt refrigerator was barely cold making the yogurt too questionable for eating. The bed was small for two but very comfortable.

Cute and charming place! Very friendly and helpful staff. Old school decor and historic photos throughout. It is right across the street from Golden Gate Park which is packed with things to do. Plus right next to Whole Foods, shopping, and restaurants. Breakfast was decent—sausage, hard boiled eggs, bagels/toast/pastries, yogurt, fruits, oats/cereal, etc. They had a daily complementary wine hour which was awesome! 5-6pm Our room was a little on the small side, but clean and comfy. They brought a crib to our room for our baby. The beds were very comfortable. I will say the street can be loud at night, street parking worked out okay (but could have been challenging if we couldn’t find a spot), and there were some sugar ants that made their home in the windowsill and got into our food. Overall, we loved our stay and would stay again!

Room was very clean, but some of the common areas need attention -- upon check-in, there were two stanchions to the left in front of the breakfast room that looked like they hadn't been dusted in years. And, upon exiting the elevator, there was a nasty looking trash bin that needed cleaning (or just replaced from Target for $20!). These were the first impressions, so we didn't have a great feeling checking in. Fortunately, as mentioned, the room was better kept.

We wanted a hotel close to UCSF Medical Center and this hotel was great since it’s a short walk from the Stanyan Muni stop. They have a complimentary wine and snacks in the evening and breakfast in the morning. The rooms are comfortable, clean and tastefully designed. The only negative is the street noise. Next time we will ask for a room on the other side.

The hotel is in a good location across from the Golden Gate Park. Unfortunately, it is also on a busy street and the room was very noisy from traffic outside. The internet was also poor, although when I complained about it, they said it was the weather.

Very classy hotel with great staff. Room was good looking, but there was no air-conditioning. The bathroom toilet roll was located 5 feet from the toilet so that was kind of awkward. The neighborhood was a little bit rough, but could be worse.

Very nice hotel with great location. It happened to be really warm when we visited so room got warm too. No air conditioning so opened windows which would have been perfect as far as temps but no screens on windows so had mosquito visitors. Besides that the hotel was lovely with nice breakfast.

The website had a deluxe king room listed as quiet & romantic, with a view of Golden Gate Park. We were on the side of Golden Gate, but our room overlooked a skateboard park within Golden Gate Park. It was very loud both night and day, and overnight (weather was warm). We paid extra for a noisy room that was marketed as quiet. We come to San Francisco often, and we usually stay downtown. We expect street noise~~your website led us to believe something that just wasn't true. I would like to hear back from the manager. Thank you.

Convenient location, friendly and attentive staff, quiet room away from street. Room was quite small bit ok for my short stay. No desk. Included buffet style breakfast was okay but surprisingly (to me, anyway) no eggs were offered. And it was rather pricey. But I’d stay here again.

This hotel is in such a great location, very close to Golden Gate Park. Cole Valley area is great coffee shops and cafes. The room was small with a tiny window that looked directly out to wall, so it was always very dark. Comfortable bed. Wifi was extremely slow and this was a problem to me. Basic continental breakfast plus some cooked links and vegan patties. Pleasant happy hour. No in-room coffee. tea. no frig or microwave. They do have larger suites for higher price with better amenities

We had a great long weekend stay here. We opted for a family suite over a regular room even though it was just the two of us and really enjoyed the extra space with a sitting room, a dining room and a full kitchen (we didn't use the dining room). The breakfast was basic but enjoyable, and the wine & cheese hour is a nice touch. Super clean, and the rooms serviced every day. Great location next to Golden Gate Park with all there is to do. Plenty of available Ubers and Waymos to easily get around.

I faced a courtyard, and could hear noise constantly. Ear plugs did the trick. Despite this, I had a great stay, as everything else was perfect. Next time, I would maybe upgrade to a quieter area of the hotel.

I love my stays at the Stanyan - we have two children at the University of San Francisco just a few blocks away - so very convenient. Staff is solid, the community dining area is a great workspace and above average coffee most days. The only bummer is that it fills fast - sometimes hard to get a room...Peace, Larry Z. P.S. maybe the best - paper NYTimes in the lobby!

We had a wonderful stay. It is so convenient to explore Haight/Ashbury. There are tons of shops and restaurants in the area and beautiful Victorian houses- the hotel being one of them! Lauren was super helpful in checking in and with area recommendations

My wife suffers from asthma, and the reserved deluxe King room was very dusty. She said she would rather sleep in the car. When I called the front desk, Renauld and Bill put us into a deluxe family sweet, no extra charge. Since we were in SF for my wife's chemo therapy appt, just that very special reaching out to her made her believe God is watching over her through her trials with cancer. You gentlemen were the best! Thank you!!

Clean, quiet with friendly, helpful staff. Tea & coffee available 24/7. Free wine & refreshments daily 5-6pm. Good position opposite Golden Gate Park on the edge of Haight Ashbury. Two short blocks to Whole Foods. Recommended.

Our first time, and this hotel will now be our go-to. Exceptionally friendly staff. Upgraded us to a lovely suite. Immaculately clean (even if the style is a bit grandma’s house). Nice bed linens and new towels. The location is perfect, walking distance to cute restaurants and across the street from the beautiful park.

We wanted a hotel close to UCSF Medical Center and this hotel was great since it’s a short walk from the Stanyan Muni stop. They have a complimentary wine and snacks in the evening and breakfast in the morning. The rooms are comfortable, clean and tastefully designed. The only negative is the street noise. Next time we will ask for a room on the other side.

The website had a deluxe king room listed as quiet & romantic, with a view of Golden Gate Park. We were on the side of Golden Gate, but our room overlooked a skateboard park within Golden Gate Park. It was very loud both night and day, and overnight (weather was warm). We paid extra for a noisy room that was marketed as quiet. We come to San Francisco often, and we usually stay downtown. We expect street noise~~your website led us to believe something that just wasn't true. I would like to hear back from the manager. Thank you.

Wonderfully quaint property on the National Historic Register. Right across the ⁹street from Golden Gate Park, a few blocks from Haight-Ashbury. The staff were terrific. There are nice shops and a Whole Foods nearby, as well as a great little bar (The Kezar Pub). Everything in town is just a Lyft away, which I recommend --parking is tough in SF.

The property was convenient and a change from the big chain brands. However, the breakfast was disappointing. It lacked variety and we had paper plates and disposable plastic knives, forks and spoons. My suggestion to the management is , quaint though it is, to dispense with the complimentary wine tea and coffee in the evenings and invest in a better breakfast with metal cutlery and china plates.

A very nice hotel. The only drawback was the continental breakfast. The had patty and link sausage, but only hard boiled eggs. Everything else contained sugar or wheat. Second day went a few blocks to get some scrambled eggs.. Otherwise, staff was pleasant, room was very nice and the location was good for my purposes.

We had a great long weekend stay here. We opted for a family suite over a regular room even though it was just the two of us and really enjoyed the extra space with a sitting room, a dining room and a full kitchen (we didn't use the dining room). The breakfast was basic but enjoyable, and the wine & cheese hour is a nice touch. Super clean, and the rooms serviced every day. Great location next to Golden Gate Park with all there is to do. Plenty of available Ubers and Waymos to easily get around.

We enjoyed our stay over Easter Weekend. Convenient to family who lives near by. One very small complaint though. The 1/2 &1/2 creamer was spoiled for our coffee. They need to keep it on ice. Had to throw out 3 cups of coffee because of spoilage.

the location is amazing for our needs, across from Golden Gate Park. The weak link is the current breakfast offering. Lukewarm sausage and limp bacon are the only "hot" items. Hard boiled eggs, cereal, packaged coffee cakes and bagels, yogurt and some fruits. Coffees and teas were fine.

This is an older hotel that has been modestly renovated. The rooms had no mini refrigerator or safe. There is a “continental breakfast“ served every morning. One morning we were there, there was no coffee, no juice, very little food, and no staff. We went to the front desk, and there was no staff there either for at least an hour. The next day, it was similar, although not quite as bad. we are pretty frequent travelers, and expect the facilities at least to be as advertised. Otherwise, the room was pleasant, the shower was great, and housekeeping was excellent.

Great location for haight/ashbury and Golden Gate Park! Nice breakfast available in the mornings. A bit on the pricey side, but the only hotel in that location. Staff is friendly and helpful. Have stayed here a few times and would recommend.

The room was clean, carpet outdated and not my favorite in a hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. They are able to hold your luggage upon check out, so you can continue to explore the city. Parking is located across the street near the police station, for a very reasonable fee. The area is quite and walkable, with Golden Gate Park across the street. On my next visit into the city I would definitely stay here rather than downtown.
