Really loved this hotel. Room was great as included a full kitchen which we made use of. Pool and hot tub were great. Never busy when we were there and towels freely available next to the pool. Small offerings of drinks in reception was nice and also good value. And made use of the cheese and wine freebie which was a nice touch. Yes breakfast area was not very big and in colder months might be challenging if no one goes to use the outside tables. But the food offered was great and good selection. Beds were comfy.

A 15 minute walk to the beach. Nice sized rooms and an excellent kitchen amenity as well as charming doors with access to the garden area. Staff were friendly and offered both breakfast and an evening wine reception. This listing claims there's a fitness center or gym on site, but there isn't. It might be part of the associated property that's a block away, but is not on site. Would stay again

Our room was ready early and we were able to enjoy our weekend stay. The bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Loved the use of the spa, very nice grounds and service was excellent!

Easy walk to the Amtrak station, downtown State St and pier. However the hotel does not have a restaurant or bar, and a good restaurant within walking distance was difficult. Hotel clean, somewhat dated but had a beautiful courtyard, clean pool and spa. Staff super helpful and so friendly.

Lovely property with a garden courtyard and pool area. Staff was super friendly and helped me secure a large enough parking space for my extended vehicle. Nice kitchen in my room, which I didn't use as I was traveling for work but would have been used & appreciated otherwise. Easy walking distance to State St and the Funk Zone. Top rated all around.

Disappointing Stay. We were really looking forward to our stay at Inn By The Harbor, but unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations. Upon entering the room, we were overwhelmed by a strong and unpleasant bleach smell that made it difficult to relax or sleep comfortably. Several areas of the room were noticeably dusty, and the TV remote was sticky. To make matters worse, the TV itself didn’t function properly. Throughout the night, there was a recurring motor or engine-like noise that came and went every 20 minutes, adding to the discomfort. The room looked much better in the online photos than it did in person, which was disappointing. After a restless night, we made the decision to check out early. While the location is convenient and the exterior of the property is charming, the room conditions and overall experience left a lot to be desired.

It is not ocean front or ocean view. Carpet was gross. Furniture dated. Many spots on the ceiling and wall that were noticeably patched. Bedside table drawer would not stay closed. Kitchen area clean and new. Breakfast was dry pastries, egg bites, oatmeal, yogurt fruit and coffee. Soooo noisy on a busy street- garbage truck empty garbage in parking lot at 600am. Staff was friendly and nice. Beautiful flowers throughout property. Expected more from pictures and rating. Disappointed.

I would have rated the property excellent except for one thing which happened to be important to me, which was that the Wi-Fi connection was very inconsistent to the point of being unusable. When it worked, it was fast enough, but it dropped out every 5 to 10 minutes and then came back five minutes later. Over and over.

Our stay here was adequate but honestly we will not be staying here again in the future. The property is older and feels and looks out of date. Rooms were clean but out of date. Bathrooms were updated which was a plus. Pool area was okay and hot tub worked well. Lobby breakfast and cheese/wine afternoon was nice but very small lobby and sitting outside was challenging with all the traffic going by. Location was great...we could walk to the harbor and wharf which was the best part. The pictures online give you the impression that it is in better shape than it really is. There's plenty of other options in the area that I would look at next time.

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Great breakfast (egg frittata!), free parking(!), clean room, comfortable bed, great bathroom (love the counter space and water pressure in the shower), and loved that we had a mini kitchen! The only things I didn’t like were safety-related: no chain on the door that leads to the outside, and the screen door didn’t have a lock on it.

We had everything we needed, and I loved that it was quiet, and clean. You can park right out front, and the area was very walkable and safe. The lobby is a little small for the breakfast but you’re around so many good restaurants it doesn’t matter. We also had a kitchen in our room which was great, and the room overall was nice! Would definitely stay again!

The room is large and mostly well kept. The carpet is stained, and should be replaced. The walls are too thin, and we could hear our neighbors, and the traffic noise was annoying. The staff was great, and we hope if we come back that we will try out the pool and hot tub.

This place was like paradise. It has a beautiful interior courtyard filled with plants and palm trees. Breakfast was somewhat typical but the desk staff was very helpful in helping you find the best places to eat and explore.

We loved our stay at Inn by the Harbor! The staff was so welcoming and gave us great recommendations. They took the time to really understand the point of our visit and paid great attention to detail. It was so quiet and peaceful; we slept great! Everything from checking in to parking was super easy.

Hotels.com suggested this hotel as a search result for all the ideas mentioned above, what I was given was strong moldy odor with a view to a wall of an abandoned property in the bedrooms and the hotel pool directly in front of the door of our Pool House Suite. the front desk personnel kept arrogantly insist the two king size beds were an upgrade and we were free to leave if we didn’t like it. So no. Not a great experience.

Sam at the front desk was fantastic. Very helpful and welcoming. Our room was clean, soft bed, and love the robes and free bubbly. The pool and hot tub, the wine social, I really love the way the staff goes above and beyond for their guests. I highly recommend staying here if visiting Santa Barbara.

The staff make us feel very welcome and spent extra time asking what brought us to the area. Wine and cheese in the lobby in the evening was nice. We also loved tge little area out side where you could eat breakfast. Outside vegetation was beautiful

My wife and I enjoyed staying here. Every person on staff that we talked to were very kind and friendly. It was our honeymoon and they left us a handwritten note, a bottle of champagne and some chocolates! The location of the hotel is great too. Freeway is super close, downtown is super close, the funk zone is super close. We really enjoyed our stay here and recommend it. It seems as though they’re starting to remodel their rooms, so that will only be even more positivity for this property.

Pool area is in the courtyard, quiet, and receives morning and afternoon sun. complimentary breakfast in the morning, and wine & cheese during happy hour. Also, there are 2 other sister properties close by guests are able to access including bikes. The room was very large with a kitchen and breakfast area, spacious bathroom, and updates amenities. Very clean, very attentive maid service. All staff were very friendly and helpful, and inquired at every opportunity if everything was okay, or if anything was needed. Overall, this was a great experience. Thank you.

Very mediocre. One or two stars max. Near the harbor is a misnomer. This was not convenient to anywhere. Far from restaurant. Far from the beach. Far from state street. Very loud as it is on a main road .

Great little place to stay. Other places are a little closer to the beach but this is a nice clean quiet well-maintained place to stay. More of a motel really than a hotel imo but nevertheless, a great place for a good night's sleep.

When we first pulled in, the property looked a bit dated, but once we got into the room, we saw that courtyard was very nice. We liked the location with easy walks to both the harbor and State Street. We did pass a few homeless on the way to State, but we never felt unsafe - even at night. (We were two men - maybe women might feel differently about the night walk.) We didn’t think we would take advantage of the daily happy hour, but we ended up stopping by every day. We didn’t take advantage of any breakfasts, but they looked OK to me. The front office staff was friendly and they also made good suggestions for dining. It’s not a super fancy hotel, but we thought it was a good value for us - we would definitely return.

Easy walk to the Amtrak station, downtown State St and pier. However the hotel does not have a restaurant or bar, and a good restaurant within walking distance was difficult. Hotel clean, somewhat dated but had a beautiful courtyard, clean pool and spa. Staff super helpful and so friendly.

Really loved this hotel. Room was great as included a full kitchen which we made use of. Pool and hot tub were great. Never busy when we were there and towels freely available next to the pool. Small offerings of drinks in reception was nice and also good value. And made use of the cheese and wine freebie which was a nice touch. Yes breakfast area was not very big and in colder months might be challenging if no one goes to use the outside tables. But the food offered was great and good selection. Beds were comfy.

This is a very well situated hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. They provide a nice wine-cheese-crackers and cookies spread in the early evening, and comprehensive breakfast in the morning, complete with oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, all types of breads/rolls/bagels, a bite-size fritatta, and of course coffee and tea. All of this at a reasonable price for Santa Barbara. Don’t hesitate to stay here!

We enjoyed our stay. It was a very beautiful property. The pool area was nice. Clean pool and spa. Lived the Spanish style building. We loved the breakfast and happy hour everyday. We also loved the bike rentals. It was so nice to be able to get a bike and ride all over Santa Barbara. Highly recommend this place and we will be back!

This is a cheap motel dressed up with Spanish tiles so they can charge a fortune. Location is marginal. Good 20 minutes to State street, the main promenade in Santa Barbara. Rooms are basic. Don’t be fooled by the pictures. Lobby and stairs are your standard cheap motel size. Evening wine is served with cheapest of wines with cheap pepper Jack and cheap marbled mild cheddar with no flavor. Breakfast, well your standard motel fare. This hotel is ok if you pay $150/night not for $350/night Stay in more central location for that price.

Very quiet and close to all the sites. We enjoyed the happy hour and were able to mingle with other travelers. Clean rooms and only thing that gives it 4 star is the breakfast was very limited (egg bites warmed up in the microwave) and muffins were stale. Everything else made up for this and we just ended up having more fruit for breakfast. We would've loved gluten free and dairy free options so my husband couldn't each much.

Wonderful stay. Spacious rooms. Great location, walkable to the beach and State St for those that enjoy walking. Shower water temperature had issues but was fixed right away. Pool was nice. The lobby always had ice water and lemonade. Breakfast was lovely and so was the afternoon cheese and wine. Definitely recommend and would return.

No reception staff on site, so when we needed help there was no quick solution. Loud music from another room kept us up for hours — after enduring a sleepless stretch of the night, we finally called, and staff only showed up after that. We asked to file a complaint — it was never properly addressed. Problems can happen during a stay; what matters is how they’re handled. This property failed on that front.
