A large portion of the parking lot was blocked off and not many spaces were available because of that. The Tiki Bar was ridiculously expensive ($20. for a Mai Tai); the Boathouse Restaurant needs a health and safety check. The steps to the upper floor are dangerous. Had a partial lake view which was excellent (3rd floor).

The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Having a s’mores kit was a nice touch, if you could find space at a fire pit. The room was clean and remodeled. The chain to the door was ripping off the wall and we didn’t have a do not disturb sign, so housekeeping came in. We stayed in one of the buildings near the beach and the music from the speakers at the Tiki bar was extremely loud, every day from 2p-6p. There’s also a tented area for receptions that had music till 10pm. Even with the sliding glass door closed the loudness could be heard, not very relaxing. Stay in a building closer to the front if you don’t want a nightclub vibe in your room. There weren’t any foot or regular showers near the beach or pool area so sand and dirt was brought to the pool and room. The pool is not heated, making it uncomfortable. There’s no cafe with breakfast items and no room service as advertised. Very conveniently located with a Safeway across the street. Having a marina where you can rent paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, and boats is very nice convenience. Would stay again in the summertime in a room away from the lake.

They decided to have an event and very noisy/loud. They were drilling into the side of the 2story building and closed off the beach for a private event. Then why charge a resort fee if we can’t use all the amenities.

We loved this property! The beach access was wonderful, and beach was not too crowded. Great restaurants on properly or near by. Loved the Tki Bar on the Beach and Boat House on the Pier!

We switched rooms to get a view of beach, were sent to an occupied room. They changed it without a problem. Rooms are overall ok. Room is small and did not feel super clean. There was food in fridge from prior guests. Elevator was broken. Carpet is old. We stayed 3 nights and were never offered housekeeping service of linens/towel changes. Overall a great view but disappointed in room.

They have done a great job renovating/maintaining an older property in a great location. However, they need to determine if they want to offer a “relaxing retreat” or “spring break”. Friday and Saturday each had six hours of thumpa, thumpa, thumpa from the DJ on the beach that was loud enough to make it unpleasant to be in the room or balcony. So I paid extra to have a lakeside room when I felt I should have received a discount to put up with the noise. Also, note that people from outside the hotel use the beach, and they bring their own boom boxes. We also found that guests that smoke weed don’t believe that “non-smoking” applies to them. We were there on a busy week/weekend in July, so you may have a different experience.

Beautiful resort near the beach. Has many amenities. We loved everything except first night Jacuzzi was cold, so we could not use it. The second night it was warm, but it got cold while we were inside. Would definitely come back if Jacuzzi will be fixed. Great location.

We paid $1033 for 3-night stay at the Beach Retreat from June 29-July 2. The Lake Tahoe sunset was beautiful. Many facilities are closed. No breakfast nor lunch service on premises during our stay. The Boathouse restaurant served dinner only, not lunch and dinner as advertised. The Sidelines Pub closed for three days that we stayed, not daily as advertised. One of the two coffee makers in the lobby was out-of-order. The pier was only accessible to boat renters, not even hotel guests. So no pier walk as seen on website. No water taxi as advertised. The room shower did not work properly until the third day. The laundromat washing machine did not work.

This hotel is an excellent location and we got the room that was right in front of the lake so it was an excellent view but I have to say that the room was was dirty. Carpet was filthy. The shower was not cleaned.

High marks for location and service/friendliness, low for everything else. Rooms are super dated and not well cleaned, shower leaked all over the floor, restaurant bathrooms were appallingly badly maintained, food service and drinks choices were poor. For this price point, would not recommend

The location of this hotel was amazing. And the staff in the restaurants were nice. The front desk however was not very helpful. The hotel was putting on an event down the street, and nobody knew any details about it, like the location, time etc. You’d think they’d be the ones with the info. But worst of all, our room was very dirty. The carpet would make my kids feet black! Our room was never cleaned during our stay. They gave us new towels and dumped the trash, only the first of 5 days. When we went to the pool, there were never any towels, and the pool water was so cloudy. The beach had trash all over and in the water. Very disappointed, especially for Tahoe.

Property not same as pictured on website! Run down, lots of weeds, no edging, chipped paint on picnic tables, sand was mostly dirt. Coffee maker in lobby broken both days. Staff was nice and so was outdoor furniture by pool.

The location was decent, not too far from Heavenly Village and a lot of restaurants nearby. View of the lake was great, it is right on the beach. However, be aware that it is a public beach and it was packed and pretty rowdy until night time. People were pretty drunk. Guests were loud and running around. Might be a good place to stay if you like to party, but for a relaxing stay this is not the place. As far as cleanliness, when we arrived I noticed that all of the garbage cans around the facility were overflowing and it seemed to stay that way throughout our stay. The room was very small! But it was comfortable and the balcony was nice to have. The staff were nice and brought us more towels when we asked. Maybe we weren’t the target demographic for this place (couple on our 30s). It was very dog friendly I will say, so that part was great.

Two towels Soap dispensers were empty Toilet handle was broke Bathroom floor was dirty Toilet seat was loose and slides around when you sit down. Remote control needed batteries One remote was fixed tv channel's would not come in clear Screen door was off track and there was lots of sand in the track. I tried to clean it and put the screen back on. Slidding glass door was dirty Lobby was out of coffee each morning Trash cans were very full on site most of the time. Saturday I went to the front desk and a very dissatisfied employee told me the other employee did not show up for work and he was supposed to be off forty minutes ago. The employee offered to take a note for my request but i opted to return instead. Please not the following Staff was polite The sports bar staff was incredible. Friendly, helpful, entertaining, and the food was great. I would like to say we love this area and we had a great room location. Room C101. The lake was incredible. Approx 10 years ago our daughter got married here. We are not a wealthy frivolous family and we stay here because it has been great over the years. To our family this was not a inexpensive place to stay. I usually recommend the Resort to friends and family but we were extremely dissapointed. Beautiful property and a lot of potential. Our bathroom had black mold along the perimeter of the ceiling (I have photos and video). Carpets are filthy and the bedding was dingy. Long black hairs left by the last guest or possible house keeping. Black Mold is very bad for me as I’m immunocompromised from Stage 4 breast cancer treatment

The hotel is not kept up, everything looks very dirty and old. Definitely needs an upgrade, the pictures of the property are very deceptive. It’s unfortunate that we couldn’t watch the basketball finals because the resort was closed and tv out on the patio not working. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone!

Lovely, well-maintained property right on the beach. So nice to sit on the balcony watching the lake and then turn on the fireplace when it got chilly. I reserved a king room and received a queen, and the room was extremely cramped. Missing lots of amenities you would expect at this price point (table or desk, microwave, vent and heat in the bathroom, etc.) Overall this was a nice choice for traveling with a pet and I would stay again but make sure I got a bigger room.

All in all it served its purpose. We were in town for the night and provided a place to sleep. Room was ok just nothing special. The bathroom was tiny. I thought the showers at the gym were tight until I showered here. Great location right on the water; if that doesn’t matter to you then find a place a bit less pricey.

I had a great room right on the beach. Beautiful view. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The shower was a little tight, but fine for someone my size. The door on the balcony did not lock though which I didn’t like. The carpet on the floor needs to be cleaned or replaced, but the bathroom had clean luxury vinyl flooring. There was an electric fire that I really liked. Check-in and check-out was easy. Free S’mores packs by the fire, but I didn’t have a chance to participate. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location. This place could be a solid 5 star resort, but there were several issues. Luckily all can be easily fixed if the resort is interested in making their guests happy and getting their rating up. Issues were: 1) pillows were horrible! Felt like old style feather pillows and seemed puffy enough. But as soon as your head laid on them they compressed to hard flat stones. Miserable night's sleep for both of us. Buy at least 2 good pillows per room! 2) Clock alarm was left on and woke us early in the morning. Absolutely unacceptable! Cleaning crew's #1 priority should be to make sure it is off! 3) No night light or dimmable switches so guests can navigate in the middle of the night without getting blinded by a full light. You can buy LED night lights for $1 each. 4) The toilet was installed at an angle so the wall was right where your foot should go. Reinstall it square with the walls.

We enjoyed our stay at this resort. The best part about this resort is it’s location and it’s atmosphere beach access and the location is five stars. The rooms leave less to be desired. The AC units in our room was very loud. There was a huge gap between the front door where you can hear everything outside. The food served at this resort was very good. Great family resort. Great music being played during the day.

Soo small and seems to be the public beach part where all pet owners go. I love animals but not everyone cleans up after them well and they were everywhere. Omg! You can hear all the footsteps upstairs. Room is freakin cramped. Bed very cheap. Idk why these places don't do better with beds.

I’ve stayed here a few times and have really enjoyed my stay. This time is was pretty chaotic. We were there for a tournament and many others were there for the same soccer tournament which I understand was not in their favor. However, there were way too many kids in the pool/spa and even though parents were there unfortunately the hotel needed to manage because they broke it. I also attempted to order food for my daughter and I at the bar and the bar tender never once acknowledged my presence, in fact he only serviced the men at the counter while walked up about 5 minutes after I was standing at the counter. Lastly, Saturday evening they only had one person working the reservation desk so I waited about 15 minutes until he could get to me. We were pretty disappointed and had to walk away from the hotel for business.

Has restaurant where you can get a quick bite and mourning fresh coffee for free. Safeway store is across the street, very convenient. Staff is very helpful and professional. Worked with receptionist Jasper and manager Jordan who were super helpful. Highly recommend a place.

The location of this hotel was amazing. And the staff in the restaurants were nice. The front desk however was not very helpful. The hotel was putting on an event down the street, and nobody knew any details about it, like the location, time etc. You’d think they’d be the ones with the info. But worst of all, our room was very dirty. The carpet would make my kids feet black! Our room was never cleaned during our stay. They gave us new towels and dumped the trash, only the first of 5 days. When we went to the pool, there were never any towels, and the pool water was so cloudy. The beach had trash all over and in the water. Very disappointed, especially for Tahoe.

Staff at front desk at night, Steven, not helpful and unwilling to assist when we called that TV was not working. He stated that there is nobody to fix it until the next day. Housekeeping very good but most disappointing was the staff at the restaurant at this resort four people in the morning working and had to wait for 35 minutes for a beer and to receive my food. I called in my food and they said that it would be ready in five minutes. Waited 35 minutes to receive food. There was four people working, but all they were doing was chitchatting didn’t even acknowledge that I was waiting. Didn’t even say I will be right with you. Nothing so disappointing. also, we were there for the Fourth of July weekend. They let anybody onto this resort to use their restrooms and facility the restrooms by the front desk were horrible with girls just throwing up chatting changing.

Early in the morning, the staff drives around in golf carts, pulling laundry carts, which make it very noisy on the cement and the Rocky Road, the manager that was on duty upon check-in was as rude as can be. She had an attitude from the second I walked up to to check in. They charge a resort fee for nothing more to use a public beach and their restaurant which I wouldn’t even walk into.

We did not check in early due to the outage and went to eat and continued to call the property to see if it came back on. Finally drove back 3hrs later and still no power. Was told we would not receive a discount if we did check in. And due to no power we could not eat at the property for safety and limited amenities. Power came back on around 6-630 and we checked in and received a dirty room. No towels no face towels sand on floor. I requested new room and the girl laughed and said she could not give me a new room as they assigned them in the morning. They said housekeeping would bring towels and never did. Very poor service and we will not be coming back for our annual stay here for my daughter’s birthday.

The location is great - right on the beach and beautiful views to the north and west, and right on the main highway, so convenient to get to dining options nearby. Rooms are well-appointed and the nautical decor theme is thoughtfully and thoroughly applied inside. Bonus for a working gas fireplace. If you go during the warmer months and are expecting a nice, quiet retreat into nature, this is NOT your place. They have a beach bar that starts the party music at 10am and keeps it going throughout the early evening hours. Great if you’re going for a little bit of a party scene, not so much if you’re looking for the opposite. Check-in and check-out are mostly online, which make the process pretty turnkey, so lookout for the texts and emails, which arrive roughly 24 hours out. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Nice place. Clean and very fun. Beach access is the perk of the resort. We walked about 5 minutes from our room to the lake. Loved it. Our new Tahoe retreat. I will say. They need ice machines on every floor.

For a beach resort, beach chairs should be included. Dining options are very limited. The Boat house needs a good overhaul and a new staff that cares that you are there. Very rude. The restaurant was just a bit better. Both servers did not return change (coins) when I paid which I found very rude and it affected their tip. I have stayed here for 40 years and will be probably going elsewhere where they really appreciate your patronage.

The hotel is nice and in very good location, right next to the beach. Front desk service was excellent. Easy check in and check out. Our only complain was bed. It was bit uncomfortable and we kept waking up couple of times every night. The restaurant on the pier has nice view and friendly employees but it took forever to get our food.

We paid $1033 for 3-night stay at the Beach Retreat from June 29-July 2. The Lake Tahoe sunset was beautiful. Many facilities are closed. No breakfast nor lunch service on premises during our stay. The Boathouse restaurant served dinner only, not lunch and dinner as advertised. The Sidelines Pub closed for three days that we stayed, not daily as advertised. One of the two coffee makers in the lobby was out-of-order. The pier was only accessible to boat renters, not even hotel guests. So no pier walk as seen on website. No water taxi as advertised. The room shower did not work properly until the third day. The laundromat washing machine did not work.

Great location and beautiful beach!! The rooms were nothing spectacular, but satisfactory. Comfortable beds but cramped room and shower. The restaurants however were not good! The restaurant on the pier had a great location…food was okay, but service wasn’t that great. The restaurant inside the hotel was awful!! We went for breakfast. It took 50 minutes to get our food and then the breakfast food came out with sausage patties that were cold and like hard hockey pucks and the pancakes were cold and hard. Eggs were also cold and I’m not usually one to complain about food. I told the waiter that this was unacceptable and I wasn’t going to pay $80 for this breakfast for 4 when it was inedible! He just looked at me…No customer service skills at all! We left and had to go to dinner elsewhere. It’s too bad, although the hotel itself could use some updates, it’s a neat little place. They just need some better customer service skills.

We loved the location as it was close to everything and very convenient . The room was a bit small but with a great view. Could have used a table in the room.

Pros: Great location, warm room, hot water in shower, hot tub, right next to the lake, nice restaurant on the pier Cons: The restaurant in the lobby was closed on one of the most crowded weekends of the year (every room was booked), there wasn't enough parking for all the residents, the hot tub was just warm at times and may need to be cleaned or the filtration may need to be checked

Phenomenal customer service, comfortable rooms, and great central location. No hassles or headaches even with the winter weather. My fiancé and I were there for the weekend to meet Chelsea for a wedding venue tour and discussion. Chelsea was absolutely wonderful and we had a very productive meeting. Thank you to the whole staff.

I went there with my family for 4 days 3 nights. Most long after we get there I start sneezing. And it was non stop until we left. I noticed when I went to go wash my clothes we had white dog hair on the majority of the clothes worn and we don’t own a dog. I am super allergic to dogs and was having horrible allergies to what seemed like dog hair in the room still embedded. The light in the hallway bathroom area would short out and we would have to press the reset button on the wall to get it to turn on again after it started to make weird clicking noises. The front door is located right next to the bathroom, that being said, the door has a huge gap and the cold air comes right in and after a hot shower, as soon as you step out you’re hit with icy cold air. All in all I wouldn’t return here personally. I travelled with my husband and kids and just didn’t see the property fit for such during the winter. It’s definitely in the name as a beach retreat, so for the spring summer time if you’re okay with dogs or their hair I would say you can come and try it. But if you’re allergic, I’d say not so much. I felt better after we washed our clothes and we had gone to another hotel (because we went to another city) and I didn’t have to take Benadryl anymore. I feel this property would need to be much better updated with front doors that seal so cold air doesn’t come blowing right in to the bathroom shower area so little ones don’t come out freezing and crying after a hot shower.
