Tarzana Inn

This is the second time staying at this hotel. While it is an older hotel, the rooms have been redone, it is clean, comfortable and the staff is very friendly. They don't have breakfast, but they have to go boxes. The only thing is since it is an older hotel there is no elevator, so keep that in mind. There is a great small restaurant open for breakfast and lunch just across the street on the SW corner called The Little Cafe that has been there since 1982. Great place. There is also IHop within walking distance. Our daughter lives close in Reseda so it works well. Will stay here again. I only took one photo of the pool when it was raining.

My husband and I stay here frequently when we visit family in the area. The staff is friendly, the room is clean and comfortable and there’s always a pool view because the rooms are laid out around the pool area.

It was clean, staff were friendly & helpful. The pool was refreshing. Perfectly located to explore the area (Hollywood, Malibu, Santa Monica) & go to Universal Studios & the Natural History Museum. Felt safe going to & from room, no issues with car breakin or vandalism.

Really ghetto and disgusting. There was a colony of dead bug in the corner behind the curtain, the sheets had stains, and the ground was dusty as hell with someone else’s hair in the vanity area. We didn’t get a wink of sleep because we were so grossed out but it was too late in the night to do anything. Finally laid out some towels to sleep on but woke up in the morning to see stains on those as well.

The room was very clean the bedding clean and fresh. I felt extremely safe at the hotel it was very quiet at night. The hotel clerk was very friendly and accommodating best part for my family was the breakfast box provided. Over all very satisfied.

Slept fantastic for 5 days! Comfortable beds! Everything was very clean except the floors. Our socks were dirty on the bottom.

The bed sheet was stained which appeared to be blood and clearly visible. I was shocked that they made yhe bef and didnt care. Made me question the cleanliness of the beds altogether. Luckily i had my own blankets and pillow cases in the car that i carry for emergencies

It's a great place - easy access to 101 n and s, nice little pool and staff was great. room was great - ac felt so good! we felt quite safe. enjoyed the boxed continental breakfasts and having a fridge in room was great. we will definitely stay there again. i do wish their was a mirror in the room, other than just the bathroom.

The property is not a resort but offers good basic living accommodations. The rooms were clean and quiet but a bit on the small side. Comfortable for 1 but a bit crowded for 2. The bathrooms were relatively large and updated. The hot water took a few minutes to arrive at the taps. The room refrigerator was a reasonable size. The room could use a microwave since the Inn does not provide a breakfast other than a grab and go snack box.

Although located on Ventura Ave - a very busy street - we found the room quiet. The rooms have been updated and the only negative was there was no small table or chairs to be able to relax in the room - there was only the office chair at the desk. Nice cafe across the street for breakfast. Strongly recommend staying there.

Older hotel with some nice updates. Comfortable overall. There was quite a bit of traffic noise because it’s right next to the very busy Ventura Blvd. Hotel staff is lovely.

Ask for a room on the side away from the gas station. Street noise was my only complaint.

So the power was out all night and day. I asked for a refund and the guy at the front desk snapped at me. Super rude. Gave me his magers card and said to call him. Phone number doesnt work. I dont get why i would have to pay full price and not use ANYTHING that requires electricity. At least comp me another night or even a partial refund. Not even a courtesy check up if we are ok or a heads up txt message letting us know the problem nothing.

I would have given this place 5/5 but for the fact that I had booked two rooms. A king bedroom and two queen bed (paid a little bit more for it), when we arrived they told us we had two rooms but both were king bedrooms. We were tired did not make a fuss but asked the why, they said they were booked but tomorrow after 11 am, we may get to our original room with two queen beds. I called no one answered several times and called again around 4pm and no one answered. We were at event that ended at 10pm. We came to the hotel to get the keys for the second room, guess what, the king bedroom that we were told we had was given to someone else. Needless to say, we were so exhausted and after I mentioned that what he did was not right, we were given different room on the first floor and still a king bedroom and not 2 queen bedrooms. I was upset because I would have understood if they corrected the original mistake but no. We were very tired to deal with it. I did mention that we shouldn't be charged for the two queens when we did not get the room that we had reserved long time ago. Oh, another thing to be aware of, if you put that Do Not Disturb sign, they do ignore it and still come in the room. The funny thing the desk clerk told us to call if we needed room service, otherwise they would not. Just weird. Also, beware of homeless crazy people should you decide to walk to places nearby, we had someone follows for four blocks. It was terrifying. Drive don't walk.

This was the second time I've stayed at Tarzana Inn for a week at a time. It was convenient for my needs, safe, and surprisingly quiet. The room was clean and comfortable, and the whole staff was friendly and helpful. I will be staying there again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good, affordable place to stay.

We stay at Tarzana Inn every year. Service is excellent and the rooms clean and comfortable. This year, we had a TV that went on the blink, but it was fixed very quickly. Thank you!

I will definitely be staying here again in the future. Very nice staff. They held my room for a 4th night due to my mom passing from cancer while i was there. Very considerate and compassionate

I been staying in this place for years, once a month, everything has been great, it’s a nice hotel, not the best but considering the area and affordability works excellent for me, staff is nice, polite, check in has always been quick and friendly, well not this last time, there was a different person at reception and he was on he’s phone, he was aware I was there but keep watching he’s phone, he was watching some type of video and replying at someone, it was very rude, was definitely not work related, made the process uncomfortable and I was mad. I won’t let this bad experience stop me from coming back but I hope this gets work out by management.

Nice area, quiet, plenty of restaurant’s and shopping stores in a walk distance, rooms are ok, spacious always clean, comfortable, parking has camera surveillance so that’s a peace of mind.

Check in was easy and quick. The location is great with easy access to freeway, shopping, and dining.

Property wasn't too big, but it was really cute with cool size pool with palm trees around it. The rooms were nicely remodeled, specially I like the bathroom had a walking shower, overall I definitely recommend and definitely will reserve it again in the future. Also front desk and stuff were very nice.

The hotel is basically clean and the staff friendly. The neighborhood, especially along Ventura Boulevard is a bit rough and noisy due to high traffic volume. The hotel is located near a fire station, so sirens can sound at any time of the day or evening.

Decent stay overall. The area around the property is a bit shady, especially the gas station right behind it. The first room they gave us had a window that opened up to the gas station. We immediately asked for a room at the second level to get some separation atleast. The staff was courteous enough to give us another room. The reception smelt of Indian food, which I hope the management can take care of in the future. The pool was clean, the room was clean and they provided a decent takeaway breakfast as well.

I love sitting and drinking my coffee around the pool. I love the box breakfast. This is a friendly, wonderful option for people on a strict budget.

The hotel room is clean and bathroom has been newly renovated, but the hotel does not serve hot breakfast. A box of packaged pastries, snack bars, a bottle of O.J. and an tasteless apple were provided instead.

It was a great stay and would come back. In the morning they provided snack boxes which were great for on the go.

The front desk clerk at our time of check in was pleasant and kind! We enjoyed our stay, it was great to have parking available. Our room was clean and plenty of room for our family of four. Although no breakfast available, they did offer grab-n-go boxes, which was a very nice gesture.

Easy check in. Friendly staff. Easy freeway access and plenty of dining options within a 5-10 minute drive. They offer a grab n go boxed breakfast snack.

When booked it was supposed to be with breakfast and only found out they would only give a “grab and go” box including juice, cookie and a fruit. Misleading advertisement.
