Sonesta ES Suites Torrance Redondo Beach

The only issues I have at this property was I had to get new key cards, for some reason my original from check in stopped working. And then the pool not being heated. The pool was extremely cold and that was a huge disappointment for my family and I.

I loved how centrally located we were. Free full breakfast, laundry is free to wash, it’s pet friendly and very safe. My son and I had our own bedroom and bathroom. The hot tub was broken but he enjoyed the pool. We will be back to stay!

Decent location, decent kitchen w/supplies, nice pool, broken hot tub x 9 days, some staff work hard & are nice, some staff are rude & could care less, thin walls, loud stairs, no elevator, great breakfast complimentary, our room 1213 had a broken couch w/multiple rips that had been sewn, little knats flying about throughout the room, no recycling bin, broken office chair you fall back in if you lean back, also had rips in it, the worst of it all were the beds, creaky, broken, loud with divets. I've never slept in a bed like this at any hotel I've ever stayed at. During our stay I checked into switching hotels but not much was available in this area last minute that could accommodate my family so we stuck it out. I am writing a letter to the hotel & corporate office. We tried calling multiple times before we arrived at the hotel and no one answered the phone. I witnessed a kitchen staff worker be extremely rude to an individual during our last beakfast. It was disheartening. The amount of money paid for the amount of days that I stayed at this hotel wasn't worth it. There are certain amenities that are expected with the price. That includes a somewhat comfortable bed, working furniture, somewhere to sit in a suite. Unable to entertain. We were told the hot tub would be fixed within a day or two and it still broken when we left. There is 1 maintenance man who works his tail off. This could be a really nice place if someone would keep it up. $2400 is too steep for this room.

No EV chargers, which is ridiculous in this era. Charged us extra to check in an hour early. Bags of trash on the balconies for hours. A can used as an ashtray there our whole stay. Old, worn carpet and furniture. Small gnat snd ant type insects in the kitchen (not a bad infestation, in fairness). Sad, tasteless breakfast. NO ELEVATOR, and put us on the third floor, without asking.

Nice clean room. Pool area is very pretty. Breakfast was serviceable. Staff was friendly. Be advised … laundry facilities are in the hotel but NOT in the room as represented by Expedia. I repeat, there are no washer/dryer in the room. Also, parking places are tiny.

I’ve stayed here twice and I absolutely love it. Only downside is they were remodeling and i wasn’t able to access the gym and laundry room.

This place was awesome!! We stayed in a 2 bedroom facility. I arrived at 5pm to check in and there was a second floor room ready or I could wait for a first floor room, to which I did and the amazing front desk team gave me free water and snacks! The good: great facilities! A bbq and fire pit which the maintenance team turned on for us. The hot pool was awesome and the sun loungers around the cold pool! (We didn’t try the cold pool). The team provided us a cot for my friend’s baby and that was super helpful. The location was super close to a strip of shops and restaurants and Redondo beach was a short drive away. Free easy parking. The front desk team even let me store my bags for a few hours as I went to drop off my friend which they don’t normally do so very accommodating! I overheard there was a small gym facility and that’s cool! The laundry facility was great too! The bad: the appliances were a wee bit older and the cleaning was a bit subpar but I can understand how turning over that large space takes time. The pool towels ran a bit low and I let the front desk know but the lady seemed a bit uninterested. The great: the free breakfast!! I was super impressed with the options of breads/bagels, eggs, meat and potatoes, pancakes with a toppings station, oatmeal, coffee, juice, fruit, and cereal! The best: special shout out to Sarah on the front desk! You are a real credit to the hotel. Mele and Monica were also very lovely and helpful! No ugly!

The best part is being about to hang around at the patio/bbq area/pool area.

We love the two private bedrooms. The space and kitchen 👍. The staff was awesome. The pool was very nice.

Service at the front desk was great, breakfast was fine. But they advertised a fitness center, that was closed. The property‌ itself is nice, but the area around it is ugly with a refinery and a self storage area.

Room was dusty and one of my rooms was not ready by the scheduled 4pm check in time. Delayed my plans for the evening.

Overall stay was peaceful but room smelt like pets and it wasn’t clean we end up cleaning the room ourselves with bleach to be at peace

We came to Torrance for vacation to visit my siblings. This place was close to pretty much everything we needed. When we checked in, I noticed dog treats. I asked the lady at the front desk if the first floor accepted pets. She assured me that they placed pets in a separate area on the property. The room was dimly lit, the carpet was dirty, the chair in the living room had unknown stains on it (we didn’t use that chair), fleas in the living room and one of the bedrooms. We also found roaches in the kitchen cabinet on the morning of checkout. When we checked out, we told them about the fleas and condition of the room. We were asked if we’d called anyone about our issues. We didn’t bc it was late at night when we realized it and didn’t want to inconvenience my 70 year old mother with moving. Please save yourself time and stress by booking somewhere else. We won’t be booking this place in the future.

When we checked into our suite, we were initially impressed with the room layout, however on closer inspection, our room had not been vacuumed well. There were crumbs on the floor, hair on most of the towels and the dishes in the cupboards were dirty. The microwave and walls in the kitchen had residue from other guests on them as well. We asked for a new room and were moved into a different suite that was a bit cleaner but not completely clean either. Trying to get a refund for our room change (as we were downgraded from a double suite to a single) was a multi day process which still hasn't been resolved at this point. Other issues with Sonesta included no available front counter clerk, no towels at the pool, issues with our room keys, not adequate bedding in the room for the pull out bed, no wipes or towels in the gym to clean the equipment even after requesting some. Guests need to realize that it's not only a hotel but also a place where long term residents stay so there are different types of traffic to be aware of, like loud carpool noise early in the am.

Beautiful clean property

We liked the convenience of being close to restaurants and stores. The room itself was rather disappointing with the smell of the carpet, little bugs in bathrooms and kitchen. The sofa and seat were old and dirty, we had to buy blankets to cover it in order to use it. The kitchen lacked appropriate pans that didn’t stick and utensils were old and dirty. The set up of the room was nice but they are very outdated and need a deep cleaning.

This hotel is like an apartment complex and has fulltime/longterm guests. It was noisy and weed smoky all nite. Parking lot was full of beaters and was hard to find a spot. Spacious room that was poorly cleaned and the sheets and blankets were tattered with holes. Breakfast was below average and hard to get because the space is very small and filled with lots of tenants.

Sheets were dirty and stained. Restroom was dirty. I had to clean and buy things myself.

This hotel was almost a mid point to both Universal Studios and Disneyland and was close to many beaches. Pretty nice accommodations although the bathroom was really small. Beds were comfortable, which isn't common in hotels we've stayed in before.

I like the availability of two-bedroom units. However, lack of elevators for the upper levels is a concern if your mobility is impaired. The microwave in our unit was non-functional and the staff made no effort to fix it. It was a comfortable room and was clean.

Overall it was great - lots of space, the decor is a little outdated, but not a deal breaker. Unfortunately no elevator, and made it difficult to carry large suitcases up 3 sets of stairs, but can't complain when not wanting people stomping around above you. The bathroom portion of toilet/shower tub is small, and we'd always hit ourselves with the door since you had to go in, move around/tuck in by the side of the toilet then close the door. The audio for the TV didn't work, so we used our tablet to for entertainment. Forgot to tell guest services when we checked out. Breakfast assortment was okay. Some of the food had an overcooked/rubber-ish texture. Having washer/dryer was handy, and they provided quarters and soap/dryer sheets (for purchase), and the room had a laundry basket which was helpful. would recommend staying here and will come back in the future.

Comfortable and roomy for the cost. No complaints. We would stay again.

We got there at 4pm for check in , but they said our room wasn’t ready , so we had to wait for 30 minutes. Once we got into our room, the AC barely even worked it was only coming out in the living room area. Our keys stopped working and we had to have them reset twice. The doors in the rooms would get stuck when attempting to open.

I enjoyed my stay but the rooms need to be updated and the beds are not that comfortable. Only a few channels came in on the tv which wasn’t a big deal since we did not stay in the room that much. I like the large space and multiple bathrooms. The kitchen was a plus with the full size fridge and stove top.

The property was great. The common area was beautiful and the rooms looked nice. However, the bed was very hard. I woke up with a stiff back each morning. There were a few wall outlets that you could not plug anything into because the plug would just fallout. The couch was worn out and also very hard. We really loved the property and wanted to give a good rating, but the comfort of the room was not very good. Not likely that we would stay there again.

Wonderful place to stay with a family. Great staff and large rooms. Would stay here again.

Room was spacious. Full kitchen was nice. Room was noisy due to other guests upstairs.

Enjoyed the newly renovated suite with kitchen. Staff member working at check-in was very friendly and helpful but she was working all alone! We arrived around 5pm with four other guests in line ahead of us. Although she was efficient, she could have really used another employee so we as guests were not forced to wait about 25 minutes to check in! Also, our ice maker was not working, never made any ice and the ice container was dirty. As we did not want to wait another half hour in line to receive ice from the front desk, we had no choice but to leave our room and drive to a store. A few ice machines on site would have been quite helpful!

The staff is amazing

From start to finish, staff were very efficient, and property was clean and well-maintained. In town with daughter for a nearby softball clinic. Breakfast selection in lobby had a wide variety and was very good. Amenities in the room were outstanding. Dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, coffee maker with coffee, etc. Very adequate parking with a convenient space close to room. Check in/out was super easy and staff were very friendly. Definitely would recommend!

Had to wait 2.5 hours after check in for my room and they did not accommodate me in anyway

Don't cone here. Staff is rude Shawntaye especially. When I got there Shawntaye made me wait 40 min to process the expedia room. They said they never got the change in reservations. They did that to get full price from me. Luckily, expedia fixed it. The a/c still doesnt work. We couldn't get the climate to go below 71 which is ridiculous for a high end place. Also they charged me 30 dollars for a soda and a sback so now I have to dispute that. Oh, and my dog is a emotional support animal and she charged me anyway after I told Shawtaye. NEVER COME HERE AGAIN

Check-in staff was soo nice and accommodating. They upgraded our room as they were being thoughtful to our difficult day. Breakfast was yummy. Beds and room in general was tidy and comfy. Would recommend this stay to anyone!

The worst customer service ever. A super rude lady at the front desk who refused to help me and made me feel that I was talking to a robot who keeps repeating words

I was on a business trip and someone opened the drawer in my hotel room and my stuff went missing. I reported it, but the manager never even contacted me. Honestly, I can guarantee if you leave your belongings here, they’ll just disappear. You’re probably better off staying somewhere else.

Staff was super friendly

The hotel staff was super friendly. The 2 bedroom suite was beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay with my family. Everyone loved it.

The room was like a small apartment, which we liked. Full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, microwave, flatware, bowels, cups, mugs, coffee maker, etc. The place does not have the luxury sheen of a Marriott or Hilton or some such but the price reflects that. Odd location, an industrial park really, but that made it pretty darn quiet. They have a strict policy about not being noisy or obnoxious and I liked that. We'd stay here again.

This was 13 minutes from Redondo Beach! The price was great for the space, the pool was lovely, and it was very safe. Plus, the accept pets.

The area was quiet and close to Redondo and Torrance Beach. The room was very clean and the pool and hot tub would be perfect in the summer, especially after being in the beach all day. Will definitely be back.

Convenient location

We stay at this hotel on a regular basis. It is close to shopping, restaurants, parks, police department, Kaiser, and many local businesses.

One of the best places we have stayed at. Very clean and quiet. Loved how close it was to rhe mall and to redondo beach.

Great location in Southbay

Its a great location when visiting the south bay.

Great hotel for families. Great location - quiet, safe area and was close to various food places. Del Amo Mall is a few blocks away and Redondo Beach Pier is less than 4 miles away.

Didn’t want a handicap accessible but was given one. No coffee pot but coffee makings on counter, no paper towel rack, no luggage rack, bathroom basin counter small, couldn’t use for toiletries so ended up placing a chair next to basin. Receptionist at check-in not as helpful as I would have expected… didn’t even know what a luggage rack was. Breakfast hours are too short but person attending to the service was so nice and accommodated us by allowing us to get some breakfast just after 9:00am.

Squirrels that keep you entertained by the pool side, clean and tidy suites with kitchen, walk in closet and comfortable living space

The buffet was great. They had breakfast tacos, pancakes made from a machine which is fun for kids, cereal, yogurt, English muffins were large and fresh, oranges, apples, coffee, lemonade and orange juice. They had toppings for eggs, and pancakes. They also had bread for toast, and bagels. The servers were super friendly and made sure everything was stocked. The front desk staff was super friendly and had great energy. They were helpful. The amenities were great, work out area, pool, hot tub, fire pit, grill, very nice outdoor area. The rooms were a surprisingly large, it felt like a an apartment. The closests were large and the showers were nice. The kitchen was great with a fridge and freezer, small 2 stove top, stocked dishes and pans and a microwave. The room were were in had 2 bed rooms and 2 baths. My husband liked how clean the bedding was. The only complaints I had were the bed I was in was very uncomfortable and squeaked every time I moved. I did not sleep well. The other complaint I had was the sofa and chair did not look clean enough to sit on. The stay itself was very nice.

It appeared the suite had been cleaned but not restocked. A partial roll of toilet paper , one glass in the bathroom, no dishwasher soap seemed like it hadn’t been stocked properly for a four night stay. Breakfast was extensive but the hot entries were overcooked and the eggs watery. The bathroom had two pegs to hang towels and they did not dry overnight. Also one peg was coming loose.

It was a good place to stay with my family. The breakfast was okay. We stayed for 1 week and every morning was the same breakfast it should have more options instead scrambled eggs and sausage ou bacon for hot breakfast every day. They have the machine for pancakes but it makes 2 at the time and it was a lot people just waiting to get some pancakes. The options on breakfast food options definitely has to have some improvement.

Could have more fruit and yogart. Parking was good and well lite.

Rooms are very big with a full kitchen, complete bedroom and living room. The lady at the front counter said was very nice and handsome. Area is perfect. But the only thing I would improve on was the breakfast, its a little too small for the entire hotel, but it gets the job done. 4.5/5

We really enjoyed our stay.we enjoyed breakfast and staff made sure to to keep your options open by keeping everything well stoked.This Hotel is really a home away from home.We highly recommend no matter what the occasion.feel free to bring kids lots of rooms with clear view of pool also surcurity gate .fire pit was a extra nice touch as i had some famly come to visit and it was a little chilly out but we were able to sit and enjoy the courtyard.Id like to give a big thank you to the staff for being just awesome!! The upgrades are coming along nicely by the way.
