Harrah's Resort Southern California - A Caesars Destination

Stayed in Dive Inn tower, close/short walk to pool, Rooms were clean, bathrooms were nice and spacious. Hells Kitchen food was great but be aware there no kids menu. Pool for adults-bartenders not horrible but not great, you’re allowed to smoke cigarettes while in the pool so you’re swimming in ashes since none of the drunks were sitting in the pool with an ashtray. Pool for families/lazy river was just OK my kids had a good time but it was dirty, cloudy water, hard to find a lounge chair people were literally arguing over placing towels on chairs when no one sitting there and just stealing the chairs. Supposed to be servers but rarely saw one and I would have had to scream and wave for one to even come in my direction. I inquired with another employee about getting a server and they never came. And this was a Monday in August. I will not go to the pool again I would only come here just to see a show, as I have in the past, or eat at Hells Kitchen.

We loved the whole pool and lazy area.... it was chill, the only thing was wish bar would of stayed open longer

No floats available/ or for purchase on site for the lazy river. That was disappointing and unexpected for a resort.

We had limited access to pool because of a private function during our stay. They offered no compensation for the lack of this advertised amenity

It was a getaway weekend with my wife, we spent the day by the pool and really enjoyed ourselves. The atmosphere was great, the drinks were good and the staff and other guests we chatted with were all nice and courteous. The room was nice and big, with a great bathroom and nice shower. The room size itself was impressive for two people and we had plenty of room. Overall, we're definitely going to return and planning on bringing our kids so they can enjoy the lazy river/pool area next time. We also ate at the cafe and Smashburger while we were there and have no complaints about the food selection.

The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. We did wish it had better lighting.I found many things surprisingly expensive. We specifically came for the lazy river, but I didn’t realize you have to purchase your own float. The least expensive option was $40, and there was an additional charge just to inflate it. The river itself was very busy and felt crowded. Wi-Fi was not included, and the on-site Starbucks charged more than a typical location — for example, a latte was nearly $8. On the plus side, valet parking was complimentary, which was a nice perk.

Experience was okay. Pros: The room was spacious and clean. The pool area is big with many options. Spacious gaming area, fun overall. Cons: A lot of “mechanical noise” at night although we turned off the AC. No restaurant offering breakfast/brunch (only take out such as Starbucks). No options other than expensive restaurants or take out. Swimming pool area/jacuzzi closing too early (6pm). Nothing to do after that other than gambling.

No cleaning of room during our stay, I guess only on checkout? Bummed no fresh towels. Walking through casino very smelly with cigarette smoke, no coffee pot in room, had to go to the bar every morning for black coffee. Food was decent onsite, couldn't wait to use the lazy river, but too many unsupervised kids doing cannon balls, water fights and running around chasing each other and jumping from river to jacuzzi and back again. was hoping to float, drink and relax. Many chairs had towels and floaties first thing in the morning not leaving many spots... Adult pool was pretty warm. Overall a fun stay.

Great pool, love Rita’s!!! Could have a better DJ on Sundays he was pretty lame and was basically playing a CD.

There is not enough lounge chairs around the pool for this property, we were by the pool at 8:30 both mornings of our stay and everything was saved, we were told we could remove hotel towels if people were gone for more than 30 minutes, but we could not remove their private property, which is all there was hats shirts bags, etc. leaving us nowhere to go at 8:30 AM. People standing in the middle of the lazy river kids, jumping off the sides, not even able to float or a place to sit. I was there with my son so we were unable to go to the 21 and over side. They are over selling for the space that they have. Also had a non-smoking room and all I smelt was cigarettes the whole weekend. And then we felt very unsafe as Sunday afternoon there was some sort of Issue in the lobby I think with rowdy guests, police activity surrounding for hours we were stuck in our room from Sunday 2 PM till the next morning when we checked out, this was not a fun experience at all. We will not be returning. The staff were unhelpful with attitudes. Our drinks were weak. I think watered down. The only positive I have for this two day stay was Hell‘s kitchen restaurant was perfection.

Found a cockroach in the bathroom in the room. I’m gonna show a picture here. Front desk didn’t do anything. They should’ve offered a future stay or room upgrade or something.

Our room was dusty and the shower, table and bathroom were also dirty. It did not feel clean. The hotel had a weird smell throughout the vicinity.

Getting there, the hotel looked nice and clean. Although getting in the room and finding baby roaches in the toilet/bathroom area really was disappointing. The ice machine on our floor was broken. Considering what we paid for one night. That was very disappointing

found someone’s dirty underwear under the desk. So a throughly cleaned room would’ve been great…

Shower head was broken. Shower sprayed all over the bathroom and made the floor soaked and my husband fell and hurt himself. Our room was sold out and we got a handicap room and it was not very clean and there was no towels in the bathroom

service was good, we got there and our room wasn’t even available nor did they have one for us, we got a two bed room which wasn’t bad, but the carpet was damped everywhere and our tile floor was very sticky and dirty with black prints, we were there for one night so it wasn’t a big deal, still it could’ve been better.

Pillows were terrible. We didn’t have enough towels for two people and needed to ask for more numerous times. The showerhead only misted — zero water pressure. There was hair in the bathtub. We found bugs in the bedroom. The fridge doesn’t get cold. We checked out early and the guest services rep was not kind at all. He barely spoke four words to me during the exchange and I was told I would get a refund for my final night which we didn’t stay but was prepaid. I haven’t been informed when that would be reflected as on my end it shows I never checked out even though I actually spoke to an employee at front desk.

What i didnt like is the room they put us was not cleaned properly and there was NO hot water! They did move and upgrade our room however this room was dirty as well when i looked behind the night stand there was enough dust to plant a garden the shower wasn't cleaned good either! SHM... for the price they charge the ahould be ashame! The one thing i did enjoy was the spa good customer service and clean

Encounter was sort of difficult to find but once I did find it the staff were courteous. Room appears dated and unable to open sliding glass door even in a smoking room. Roaches in the restroom (photo) and stained towels

No coffee maker and no microwave

The rooms are spacious and clean but a little dated. Check in was a little slow but typical for a casino. The staff was lovely.

The internet was TERRIBLE and for over 90% of the time it was not available yet we were charged TWICE. Front Desk clerk was able to remove one charge but considering I had to call for technical support we should not have been charged at all. Also, I asked to make sure I recieve Caesars Rewards but was told that since I did not put my rewards # in at time of booking I was not entitled. WHAT?? My money was accepted everywhere so why not??

Pillows were not comfortable

No bathtub like the picture promotes for a room that costs over 200 dollars, quite disappointing. Shower head has a low flow mist like spray, water temp indicators are backwards. No microwave, no pen and paper, no tea or coffee maker. Desk chair stuck at lowest setting making it unusable to sit at desk. At least it was quiet.

Nice rooms

We could hear the live band at the bar from the 14th floor loudly. We inquired about live entertainment and staff only knew of a DJ. Some people may not like the noise level at times. I would have liked the pool to stay open later.

Check in staff was not flexible to switch to a desired non smoking and made us pay $200 to upgrade to a non smoking suite. The manager Joseph Gil was rude, unkind and made his staff member Brittney uncomfortable when she had tried to assist us. Later another property employee mentioned Brittney was new and that the manager mentioned had a very condescending attitude. I don’t feel he should be in management.

My family and I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past five years, and it used to be a great experience. Unfortunately, our most recent stay was very disappointing, and we’ve decided we won’t be returning. The biggest change is that there’s no daily housekeeping anymore. The room is cleaned before you arrive, but during your stay, it’s not serviced at all—no matter how many nights you’re there. They will drop off towels or toilet paper if you request them, but you basically have to restock everything yourself. On multiple occasions, I had to call for basic items like toilet paper and towels, and sometimes they wouldn’t arrive at all. I had to call again, only to be told no request had been put in. Another major issue was the smoking. It seems like smoking is allowed almost everywhere in the casino now, and the smell carries into other areas. Even in our non-smoking room, the smell of cigarettes was so strong that I was coughing throughout the night. I’ve never experienced that at any other hotel, and it’s clear the ventilation is poor. To be fair, there are still some positives: the pool area is nice, the food at the restaurants was good, parking is free with plenty of spaces, and the check-in process was smooth. But these positives don’t outweigh the negatives—especially considering I was paying $300 a night and got no room service and a room that smelled like cigarettes. Everything was great about our stay except one thing. Check-in was horrible! I had accidentally booked a smoking room but needed a non smoking room due to asthma. Although there were non smoking rooms available, Samantha at the front desk told us because it was booked through Expedia I needed to go through them. I spent an hour going back and forth with her and Expedia with no success. She went on a break and after speaking to someone else for only 5 minutes our room was changed! We lost an hour and gained an hour of unnecessary stress!!

Everything was great except for the very slow check-in procedure. They had enough staff, but VIP guests were taken first, even if other guests had been waiting. Every guest should be treated as a VIP on a first-come come first-served basis. The hotel is nice, friendly staff, lots of choices for food, charge for Wi-Fi?

Check in was at 4pm I got there @ 5pm and since system were down I had to wait and couldn't check in till 8:30pm. I was there for an event and had to get ready in the lobby. They did not offer any inconvenience services.

I did self check in and it was smooth and quick.

Clean good size rooms, friendly staff

We were given a room, near our friend on the 17 floor. 17004, when my husband entered the room it smelled like sweat and a dirty rug. We went down to the lobby and I saw a man with a Harrah's badge asked if he could assist me. It was Nik the hotel manager and he took care of us! even went to the new room to ensure it was to our liking.

We will definitely never stay here again!! Vacations are supposed to be relaxing and stressful. Dive inn rooms nice and the beds were comfortable. Pool area is nice but everything closed at 8pm. Cabana service was a waste and end at 6pm. Check your receipt at check out as I was charged extra however am still waiting to hear from management. Staff at the cafe was rude and wanted to charge 21% for a party of 10 so they were going to split us into two parties of 5 and sat us far from each other then were rude about answering questions. Most of the eateries are closed by 8:30pm or 10pm at the latest. No free play or at the most $5.00. Check in was at 4pm but when we arrived after 4 we were told there was only one room available and no options of floor preference. Check out is at 11am and we were denied a late check out the evening prior. Valet parking free, and bell hop was nice to store luggage for free. Be prepared to walk! Starbucks charges a dollar for a cup of ice water so if you place a pick up order add it on or they will make you wait in a long line.

Wow, this was our first trip to this Harrah’s and it will be our last trip. The checkin was awful only 2 people working. Took half an hour to check in. Saw ppl try to use the self checkin and had to get back into line. Room was dirty w bugs in the lights. Starbucks took 45 minutes to get in the morning. Booked a daybed and when we got there it wasn’t in the 21+ section as requested, had leaves and white stains on the daybed and some family had put their shoes and stuff on it. The manager or pool comped is a cabana the next day but we didn’t even want to use it because we wanted to leave and go home. Gross won’t be back. Only good part was Hell’s Kitchen.

The property is my quiet socal goto option. Halfway between San Diego and LA near Palomar. Great hotel

Overall ok. Everyone we encountered was pleasant/helpful, the rooms were clean, comfy beds and they were quick to bring extra towels or bedding to the room when requested. But I wish there was more food choices, restaurants and shops or other things to do onsite or closer. We came with family so was disappointing to see there wasn't much more for kids/teens to do. The lazy river is great for a few hours a day when staying for a couple of days but there needs to be other attractions for a longer stay. We stayed for a few days longer so we had to look elsewhere for things to fill the days. A larger pool on the family side would have been nice too. Driving into town takes time, roughly 1.5 - 2 hours roundtrip however on a positive note the drive is beautiful in the day, not ideal for night. Also a restaurant we planned to eat at was closed for days at a time. I would recommend this place for short stays only considering the limited options if coming with family. Couples or adults can gamble the night away, or hang out on the adults side of the pool area which has at least 3 pools to choose from (only available to adults), a bar and a fire.

I liked the lazy river. On the day that we were there it was not crowded so it was great. What i didn't like is that there weren't any places to dine outside of the hotel.

Parking (other than valet) quite a distance from room elevators. Very good selection of dining options. Separate non-smoking casino area but looks like the latest and most popular slot machines are in the smoking area; non-smoking area gets the older ones. Property very clean and room nicely done and comfortable. Eco-conscious with solar system and recycling containers.

We booked the hotel because we wanted to attend Hell’s Kitchen while in San Diego. While it isn’t exactly what we would call San Diego, the location was beautiful, quiet and secluded. Staff friendly and knowledgeable, dining options were great.

Lazy river is outstanding! A little too secluded for me needs shopping near and more dining near.

Helpful staff upon check in. Was a far walk though from garage to front desk. Dinner at 'Rita's. Super friendly wait staff. Went to show at event center. Line for drinks way too long but helpful staff to find our seats.

Great place, vegas gambling with resort feel close to san diego or LA. Lazy river and a pool many jacuzzis great southern cal weather. There's a starbucks and close to four other casinos within 15 minutes. Evev go to borrego springs desert less than an hour away or the beach quick 40 minutes. Best pool area of any local casino. Many close all pool areas seasonally. Harrahs keeps pool open all year.

I miss the buffet. The food was priced reasonably and it was DELICIOUS! I used to love the variety of the various cuisines. The other two main options now are either very expensive (Hell’s Kitchen) or the Cafe which is cheaper but the food isn’t good. I did however like the pool area with the various jacuzzis. I also miss being able to have room service; someone to clean the rooms and being able to order food to eat in the room.

Too expensive food service, Wi-Fi $12.99 a day, water bottle $4.50. I bought I cup of coffee and bought food for to go Charged 18% service and $5 to go fee

Our stay was on a Wednesday. Half the food areas were closed. I stayed here a few years ago and it was a good experience.

We were there for a concert and spent the night. There are nice dinner options, with HK being our favorite. All the hotel facilities and areas are clean, the room was nice, clean and quiet. The concert venue is right there, so you can play in the casino, have a nice dinner, and literally walk to the concert in no time. Last time we were there, there was an after concert party with a DJ and food stands, but not this time which we really missed.

The pool was nice and clean! The Taco truck has good food!! Hell’s Kitchen had excellent food and service!! Our room was clean and pleasant!! And, all the staff were polite and helpful!!!

We understand. Its primary focus is on the casino. Hotel: for what we paid (weekend rate $450.00 night), a shame there was no coffeemaker in room, limited tv channels, no change of towels for entire stay, and no continental breakfast and no free WiFi. It’s a casino. Casino: not enough restaurants for number of people in the facility. Long waits and high prices. Ended up eating sandwiches most days. Pools were clean and great!

Not a lot of food options. Most restaurants closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Hell’s Kitchen is just okay. Server’s at the pool were rude.

We loved our short getaway! The pool was great, casino was fun and the restaurants were all good. If you’re looking to relax by the pool I would avoid it on weekends, but if you’re looking for a party vibe definitely come to enjoy the DJ and book a cabana for the day! The casino has a good variety of slots and table games! Food was also great! We ate at Hell’s Kitchen, The Cafe and ‘Rita’s! No disappointments at all!
